As another reviewer said, the King's Gambit rocks, and this is the best book on it. Gallagher's classy work was a frequent companion of mine in my teenage years, playing more chess than was probably good for me, given my limited talents in that area. Haven't looked at it for over a decade, now, but as I was in a Goodreads zone today, and have recently picked up the one chess book I brought to China, it seemed that a moment of nostalgia was in order. It really is a very good introduction to this most splendid of openings, and Gallagher is an entertaining writer.
