Falling for your new boss is a bad idea. Getting pregnant by him? Even worse. Especially when he runs the Bratva.
He saved me from a creep at the bar, then handed me his business card. Damien Morozov. Impossibly rich. Impeccably controlled. The kind of man whose world should never collide with mine.
So imagine my shock when I walk into my new job… and find him behind the desk. The man I thought I’d never see again.
I thought he was a businessman. Turns out, he’s the one they whisper about. The ghost in a tailored suit. The man who commands the Bratva.
I tried to keep my secret safe. But nothing stays hidden from Damien Morozov. Especially not me.
When Damien learns the truth, his control shatters. Not with anger—but with obsession. Because no one touches what belongs to him. Not his empire. Not his woman. And definitely not his child.
This is a full-length standalone mafia romance. No cliff hanger. Happily ever after guaranteed!
Claimed by the Boss is part of the Sinful Mafia Series and can be read as a standalone. Damien, a mafia boss, falls fast for Lyra when he saves her from another guy being inappropriate with her. Of course, at the time, Lyra has no clue that he’s a mafia boss or the man she will be interviewing with the next day for a job. From this point on in the story, things happen quickly—with their work relationship, romance, Damien’s mafia plot, and Lyra’s pregnancy. I was fine with this pacing.
I liked how Damien reacted to some of the situations Lyra was in. I don’t rate spice levels because it’s so subjective, but I would say Claimed by the Boss is lower in spice than what I typically read, but it makes up for a good story.
Thank you to Booksprout and Author Natasha L. Black for the gifted copy I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book is a perfect combination of the strong and in control boss and the intelligent woman. Lyra first meets Damien when she was working as a waitress waiting to interview for her dream coding job. Damien is surprised when Lyra shows up for the interview but he can see her intelligence from a mile away. It doesn’t take long for their relationship to change into something romantic. Their story burn up the sheets yet also has some surprising romantic moments that steal your breath. There are also secrets and danger that they must fight against. You have to read their story to see how they handle the danger. You will be kept on your toes and completely engrossed into their story.
Skimmed through most of this book. Not sure where all these 4 and 5 stars are coming from. The book was boring and not very mafia at all. It was a cheesy knockoff.
Quick, clean, and easy — this one didn’t stress me, but it didn’t light me on fire either. A smooth, fast read with an age-gap and mafia twist; Natasha L. Black’s writing flows well and keeps you turning pages.
The age gap works for me — she’s 21, he’s around mid-40s to 50, and I actually love that dynamic. Same with the boss/subordinate setup; it gives a nice edge of power play without feeling overdone.
As for the mafia angle — not much of it, really. We’re told he’s a Bratva boss, and throughout the book there’s this other Russian guy trying to kill him while he’s planning to strike back. It’s explored enough, yes, but it just didn’t hit for me. I wasn’t impressed — it didn’t feel Mafia-Mafia the way I’d hoped.
Now, the characters. He meets her and instantly falls — no slow burn, just boom, he’s gone for her. She’s calm, polished, and professional, and her maturity is off the charts for a 21-year-old. I don’t mean that in a bad way; she’s written as extremely composed and emotionally stable, maybe too much so for someone her age.
Spice level — this one’s tricky. There are several scenes, and some readers will absolutely call it spicy. The writing is tasteful and sensual, but my personal heat scale is just… higher. I’m used to a different level of intensity. So while the passion is there, it’s not my level of heat.
By the end, there’s a showdown — she gets kidnapped by his rival, and he rescues her. Their love softens beautifully after that; it’s tender, warm, and loving. But again, it’s just not my style right now. If this had been a book I picked up after a long reading break, I might have fallen harder for it. It’s genuinely well-written, and I can easily see people giving it five stars — and I wouldn’t argue with that at all.
Still, it’s not a bad read. If you like age-gap romances with some mafia flavor, a protective older boss, and a sweet, emotional finish, you’ll probably enjoy it.
For me, 3.5 stars — well-written, heartfelt, and easy to recommend, even if the spice wasn’t spicin’ and the mafia wasn’t mafiain’... and those two annoyingly wholesome epilogues were the cherry on top.
A Fated Connection Worth Exploring - When Damien saved Lyra they parted as strangers with memories and fantasies about the other, so they didn’t know how to let go when their lives connected again. The relationship between Damien and Lyra was meant to be platonic, but the longing looks and time spent in close proximity led to them embarking on a secret romance. However, everything changed when Lyra’s suspicions about Damien’s life grew and then she discovered her life was about to change.
Although, Lyra tried to keep her secret whilst she considered all her options, Damien found out before she could tell him and wasn’t pleased, but he ultimately understood her reasoning. Unfortunately, not long after Damien and Lyra settled into their new normal, the darker side of his life that she wasn’t happy about encroached upon them , which led to her kidnapping. Luckily, Lyra remembered she had a way to get her location to Damien without the knowledge of her kidnappers, which led to him swiftly dealing with the perpetrators permanently, so they could have a happy future.
This was a really brilliant story with fantastic chemistry between the characters and an action - packed storyline, that drew me in from the beginning and left me unable to stop reading until I finished. This amazing page turner will have you totally engrossed as you entertain yourself for a few hours.

Lyra, a waitress, is harassed by a drunk, entitled customer who won't take no for an answer. Damien, dining alone, intervenes—yanking the man away, issuing a chilling threat, then calmly checking on Lyra before returning to his meal. Intrigued by her poise, he leaves his business card with an extravagant tip. At home, Lyra discovers the card belongs to Damien Volkov, CEO of the tech firm where she’s interviewing tomorrow for her dream coding job. Her resume already impressed him; seeing her walk in stuns them both. Her talent seals the hire, but the electric pull between them is undeniable. Falling for each other was never the plan—especially since Lyra doesn’t know Damien leads the Bratva, a secret that could destroy her. Keeping it hidden feels as lethal as the truth. Now, each harbors a revelation that could shatter everything. 4.5 sizzling stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Lyra and Damien's book. The good, it was a sweet romance. They kept it professional at work. He respected her intelligence. The bad, it was set in the mafia world, and the author did try at the begging to bring a bit more in then in her previous works. However, there were issues. Don't expect this to be a mafia trope at all - a few mentions does not make it even mafia lite. There was really no explanation as to why Damian and Rurik had issues. No explanation as to the Russian woman. Most importantly, authors need to stop having the leaders of any factions walk away. It needs to stop. The four is for the romance part only. 4.5 stars! Lyra is starting out her computer engineering career with what she hopes will be a dream job. She has been waitressing at a high end restaurant to pay thr bills until she gets her dream job. When a customer gets handsy, she is surprised when someone grabs and pulls him off her. He didn't have to but when she learns who it is she is shocked to find he is the CEO of the company she has an interview with the next day. Damien was not sure why he went after the guy bullying the waitress though once he saw her he couldn't get her out of his mind. He is a one and done type of guy but for some reason he can't stop with her. This is the start of a good mafia romance with some good twists.

Damien save Lyra one night and things heat up between them. Neither expected to see the other again but were surprised when Lyra came for her interview the next day. They tried to not get involved further but soon it was too much for them. So, they secretly saw each other and Lyra learns who Damien really is. Just as she is trying to figure things out another complication pops up for her and sends her reeling. When she is taken because of who she is to Damien she gets creative in order to let him know where she is. Will he find her in time? Can they be together?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
It didn’t seem so bad at first. But especially for a dark romance and a mafia story line, it was just so dull. Instead of making the scenes exciting, they told us that they were exciting. Which may have worked if we didn’t see the scenes for ourselves and know that that was not the case.
For example, the interview between the MFC and MMC was your standard interview (which the exception of only last two minutes and the candidate got hired on the spot), nothing exciting happened. Yet, apparently the sexually tension was just unbelievable and left the MFC breathless - and being asked about her background and qualifications in a job interview was some sort of revelation.
And the dialogue was stilted and almost robotic. I couldn’t finish it.
Claimed by the Boss is a very suspenseful story and I devoured it.
Damien meets Lyra after he saves her from an encounter with a man who puts his hands on her. She is working as a waitress and trying to better her life. When she shows up for an interview she realizes Damien is the CEO of the company. He is very attracted to her but decides to hire her for her skills. He tries to keep it professional but their chemistry is too good. They keep their relationship a secret since he is her boss.
Damien and Lyra's story is full of suspense and secrets. Highly recommended.

Claimed by the Boss is part of the Sinful Mafia Daddies series and it is a suspense and action driven romance. Lyra and Damien are both good characters that are multi-faceted and interesting. She is working as a waitress which he owns when a customer gets too handsy and Damien steps in to save her. He is rich and powerful, and also the Pakhan of the local Bratva. Their paths cross again when she is hired to work at a local tech company only to discover that he owns it also. Their chemistry is sizzling and smoulders as they grow closer, but there is the threat of his enemies which may just stop anything from happening....or will it.
The story really pulled me in from the start. It had its highs and lows, with the main characters experiencing the thrill of new romance, while on the other hand, the other side of the MMC revealed a world where violence was just part of everyday life. Before long, his other world intersected with hers, and there's nothing more dangerous than a man who has been robbed of the woman he loves and his unborn child.
I really liked the MMC; he's deadly but also a good guy, especially to those he cares about. I enjoyed seeing the MCs find their perfect life—peaceful, content, and happy.

I really liked this book. I became easily invested in Lyra and Damien's relationship. I appreciated their respect for professionalism in the office and their passion in private.
The Russian mafia plays a role in their story, but doesn't dominate it until towards the end which becomes intense. I was holding my breath to waiting to find out the outcome of Damien's quest for revenge.
This is an entertaining and exciting story with a satisfyingly good happily ever after.

They first meet when he comes to her aid at the restaurant so imagine her surprise when she goes in for a job interview and he is the one conducting it. Sparks fly and professionalism falls off when these two come into contact, but Damien is determined to have Lyra in this action-packed drama that had me holding my breath and cheering this couple on to getting their chance for happiness. It is a well written book with a thrilling narrative and dynamic characters I enjoyed connecting with.

Lyra first meets Damien when a handsy customer can't take no for an answer and Damien steps in. Then Lyra finds out that her interview the next day is at Damien's company when he leaves his business card on the table. What could wrong? Or right!
Damien couldn't help himself and asked Lyra to dinner even though he gave her a job. And what happens when Lyra finds out that Damien is a Russian Mob Boss right after she finds out that she is pregnant?
Damien takes interest in a waitress. Later she shows up at his high tech company. Lyra is highly qualified, young and gets hired by his company. They started dating in secret. Lyra’s friend hears things about Damien’s character and is frightened for Lyra. This is a romantic suspense with dark tones. There’s drama, intrigue, danger and surprises. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by Ms Black.
Quickie Review: I thought I would get a more angsty bratva romance, but it ended up being a really sweet one. At least for me and I loved that about it. The story was a little slow going but it told a great one. And it’s definitely not “mafia light”. Another aspect I loved. So many lately you wouldn’t know it was mafia/bratva with how it’s done. I look forward to more stories from this amazing author. 5 Stars.
Lyra works at a classy lounge when she gets rescued by Russian Bratva leader Damien and as it turns out she is interviewing for a job with his company. She gets hired but does not know he is head of the mafia but can’t help falling for the much older sexy man nor does she know the threats that come with him. REVIEWED 10/27.

This is a really good Sinful Mafia story. Lyra and Damien were made for each other. Its a well written story, the characters are in depth and there intrigue and action. Lyra is a coder and ends up with Damien as her boss. Their chemistry is so great that they have to have each other. Until Lyra finds out exactly who Damien is. The Bratva boss. The man she loves and the father of her child. Will she be able to handle and support him. I loved this story.
Lyra was excited to get her dream job, only to find out her new boss is the same guy who came to her rescue at her waitressing job. Things heat up at work in this steamy office, age gap, Mafia romance. This is a well written story with well developed characters, drama, suspense, fun banter, and a great ending. Claimed by the Boss is a great addition to the Sinful Mafia Daddies series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I was having trouble getting to sleep tonight so I thought I would start this book until I got sleepy. I just finished it! It was an interesting story and the plot kept me reading. There was an instant attraction between her and her new boss. That eventually blossomed into an affair. It was a good read and I recommend you enjoy it too. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger. Great epilogue.
Damien and Lyra first meet when he saves her from a drunk where she is a waitress. She goes for an interview with an IT company and Damien is the CEO. Damien is also Bratva. Lots of chemistry and danger. What happens when Lyra finds out he is Bratva? What secret is Lyra holding onto. Great story!!
Loved reading the amazing and awesome mafia romance story. After Lyra is saved from harm at work by Damien, she has an interview with Damien the next day for the job of her dreams. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and another must read riveting story by the fabulous author, Natasha L. Black.
Damien is Lyra's new boss with a sizzling attraction building between them. Not just a billionaire but also a bratva boss, he has plenty of power and influence. A possessive older man who will do anything to protect his strong willed woman and their child. A great bratva read.

This book starts with a bang and continues through out the whole book at a fast pace. I loved the dual points of view and the wondering when the “other show was going to drop” so to speak regarding his secret life as a packan.
