Jennifer knows four things for She needs her hearing aids to function in the hearing world, a cast iron skillet makes for a great weapon, she would rather read about fictional men than date them, and the fae man she bumped into outside her house was definitely real.
Her comfortable, quiet existence shatters when the impossibly beautiful, icy-eyed Prince Nas of the Winter Court appears outside her home, and everything falls apart. Pulled from her world and thrust into the eternal chill of the Winter Court, Jennifer quickly discovers that the Fae Prince is also the source of a confusing, undeniable pull.
As she grapples with the sudden reality of a dangerous magic she wields called the spark, she is plagued by Why her? How long has Nas been watching her? And why, despite his obvious danger, does she feel safer in his arms than she ever did alone?
Nas, burdened by a centuries-old curse that prevents him from touching any living thing without freezing it, finds his cold control dissolving under Jennifer's warmth. He is torn between his duty to retrieve the Spark to save his realm and an impossible, devastating love for the woman who carries it—a love that could ruin them both.
With the help of unexpected allies, Jennifer begins to embrace her destiny and She realizes that her supposed vulnerability—her hearing loss & her humanity—is the very strength the Fae realm needs.
A tale of destiny, choice, and a love worth breaking all the rules for.
E.J. grew up with her head in the clouds and her nose in a book; every time she flipped the page she was transported across realms, across centuries and immersed in the author's story as if she was a part of the pages. E.J. has always been a lover of all things fantasy- cosplay, video games, books etc.
She wanted to write something that would leave you gripping the pages, on the edge of your seat, as you live in the world she created. E.J. LOVES love; that heart wrenching, time-stopping, soul finding love. She wants you to yearn for the kind of love that our MMCs shower on our FMCs; and have you realize that you deserve that too. (and all the spice with it!)
When E.J. is not writing, she is drawing, designing, gardening, hunting and trapping and more. She loves living off the land with her soulmate and heart bond, their children, multiple furry babies and chickens. She is proud to be Metis and is severely hard of hearing (which was why books were her go-to).
What do you get when you mix the vibes from Frozen, Peter Pan, and Jack Frost? What if you covered them all in a cozy blanket? This book!
Nas? Every fae loving, wish a prince would whisk me away into another realm, girls dream. He stalks her through her window. What more do you need, really?
Jennifer is hard of hearing, and the time and detail spent helping the audience understand her disability is amazing. Her resilience is top-notch. Plus, she attacks with a cast iron skillet. Rapunzel in Tangled style.
This is a top-tier winter cozy comfort read that will have you swooning, kicking your feet, and laughing out loud. This is packed with feel-good vibes, a winter wonderland, and a cold prince of Winter that is to die for. Those who grew up watching Disney movies will appreciate this vibe.
A lovely, cozy winter fantasy with romance, magic and disability representation that I am in love with.
The author and I both have hearing loss, and seeing this is so thoroughly represented in the FMA was absolutely awesome!
This story is a shorter standalone with a cozy, comforting vibe. Featuring a 30-year-old human FMC, Jennifer, who is hard of hearing, made my heart so full to read the genuine representation! Our ancient Fae MMC, Nas, is a winter prince with a frozen heart. Lastly, a husky named Yule we all want to snuggle.
I picked up some vibes reminiscent of Peter Pan and Jack Frost, as marketed, but also some Shadow Hunter elements.
Thank you to Epica Book PR for the eARC of Kissed by Frost and Moonlight by E.J. Lindell.
Jennifer is a partially deaf human who self isolates in the bush of Manitoba. Nas is the Crown Prince of the Winter Court who is cursed. Nas is drawn to Jennifer for reasons he does not know, and their journey begins all because he could not stay away! You should definitely take the time to read their journey with all the twists and turns of colliding worlds and old kept secrets!
Tropes: Strong FMC Obsessed MMC Slow burn Disability rep He falls first
I thank Epica Book PR and E.J. Lindell for the opportunity to read this amazing book as an ARC.
Frosty fae vibes, a snarky heroine with a skillet, and a Winter Court prince who’s way too pretty for his own good. Loved the cozy magic and the sharp banter, plus the disability representation woven in without fanfare felt natural and refreshing. Not perfect, but definitely a win for my romantasy shelf!
I received a free arc in exchange for a review. My thoughts are my own: Like ‘em or not.
Jennifer’s world gets turned upside down when a stranger appears at her remote home one snowy day, disappearing as mysteriously as he arrived. Her mother Edna frets about getting her a dog for protection. Little does Jen know she’s been visited by Nas, Crown Prince of the Winter Court, who was drawn from his realm to ours and he’s not sure what’s going on with the human with hearing aids, or how she brought true life to one of his creations.
Nas has got problems of his own: His family has decreed its time for him to wed, and in a few week’s time, at the Solstice Ball, he must select a bride. Pretending to busy himself with the logistics of the event and candidates for future queen, he learns of The Spark – a Power of Undoing fae magic. He realizes that if her powers are discovered, Jennifer is in danger and what’s worse: he’s smitten with the mortal when duty demands otherwise.
I’m not big on romantasy so I will have a hard time comparing it to other books like it in its genre; my positives are that it’s mostly well written and the two leads have decent chemistry – I preferred the antics of Nas’ brother Nik and I thought Rose was a fun character. It’s mostly clean with one use of an F-Bomb as well as a few other uses of naughty language. There’s fairly little spice, so don’t expect a smutty romp. It’s teased that some of the courts are wicked and cruel, the villains of this tale aren’t particularly complex and we avoid gore.
**Spoilers** It’s a story ultimately about a lost Princess and about how her ‘spark’ isn’t a bad thing – Nas is cursed that whoever touches him gets turned into an ice statue, but Jennifer’s “spark” is essentially the cure. It’s not like they’re opposites but complements. It’s pitched as cozy, but I think it verges towards princess classic as opposed to more traditional low-stakes cozy tales. Think Disney Princess or Barbie movies for a flavor.
The author nailed Manitoba winters. From the Fae Realm POV, I had a lot of questions: The fae are very old creatures, but in the thirty years Jen’s been missing, the surviving literature has attacked the “Spark”– an inheritance of Spring Court Nobility, casting it as an unmaker of Fae Glamor and ability and that anyone who possesses it ought to be destroyed. At first I thought when Nik was able to Glamour Jen it shouldn’t work that well or that it would probably fail at a crucial moment, but the author pulled another card I wasn’t expecting. My concern is that if The Spark has only been lost for thirty years, old souls like Fae might remember when it was a sign of Spring Court Nobility.
The Fae are fairly standard, I wanted to see more court scheming and the author’s unique take on the surrounding mythology. Again, epic world building isn’t the story’s focus so much as the chemistry between the two leads. Nas falls first and he is protective of Jen; she spends most of the book wondering if she’s going crazy or hallucinating a handsome young man who springs out of the ether.
My other nitpick started out as something I initially enjoyed. Edna is Jennifer’s adoptive mom, and she has a society of middle-aged ladies keeping track of magical breaches into our world. I had visions of grandma picking her youngest grandkid up from hockey and saying they need to make a wee stop to fight an Ice Bogey a the Co-Op, don’t worry we’ll get you to your guitar lessons on time Gramma’s dealt with the big one already. Sadly, these ladies mostly are aware, teasing maybe they’re the watchers and Manitoba ain’t putting up with a magical breach. I thought for sure they would have at least given Jennifer a few little talismans to ward off imps even though she has no idea why. The narration emphasizes Jen’s a grown woman of thirty, so you’d think that Edna would have had the talk a few years ago but, maybe there’s a reason for the conspiracy of silence.
If Lost Princess movies are your jam and you are a romantic at heart, give it a shot.
A concept with promise, but the execution left me confused more often than engaged
I went into this book genuinely excited, the premise is lovely, the cozy romantasy angle is appealing, and the representation with a hard-of-hearing heroine is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the execution left me struggling from the early chapters.
From a craft perspective, the character dynamics feel inconsistent, particularly with Jennifer. She’s introduced as a 30-year-old independent woman, yet the way she interacts with her mother contradicts that. For example, her mother refers to Jennifer’s home as their home, and Jennifer seems to accept that her mother has the “final say” on something as small as adopting a puppy. These moments created tonal whiplash, her independence is stated, but not shown.
There are also noticeable repetitions (Chapter 3 repeats almost identical lines back-to-back), which pulled me out of the narrative.
The plot holes begin early, and unfortunately they accumulate. A few examples:
In Chapter 7, Edna makes a mental note to go to the library, then in the very next scene she isn’t going to the library and the thought is never addressed.
In Chapter 13, Jennifer reflects on “the fae man”… even though we were never shown how she identified him as fae, especially since she then later searches “magical creatures” online as if still unsure.
The vigilante group of elderly women is introduced abruptly, with minimal explanation of who they are, why they know what they know, or how their artifacts function.
When Jennifer is taken into the fae realm, the transition scene is missing entirely. One minute Nas is confronting Rose and Jennifer is being attacked by a shadow, and the next she is waking up in a castle. The jump is so drastic it feels like pages are missing.
Later, Nas mentions “Edna’s vigilante society,” despite having no previous interaction with them—and again, we get no explanation.
These continual scene-to-scene skips without connective tissue made the narrative feel disjointed, like the story was trying to move too quickly without grounding the reader in worldbuilding or character progression. Instead of a smooth fantasy flow, it often felt like flipping channels.
There are strong elements here, a compelling premise, a love interest with real emotional potential, and a heroine whose vulnerability could have added meaningful depth. But the story needed more development: clearer transitions, stronger internal logic, and more deliberate worldbuilding to truly bring the Winter Court and its characters to life.
Overall, Kissed by Frost and Moonlight has the bones of a good romantasy, but the pacing, plotting, and structural gaps kept me from becoming immersed. I hope future installments spend more time grounding the reader in the world and the relationships, because the ideas themselves are promising.

If Frozen and Peter Pan had a cozy romantasy baby, it would look a lot like Kissed by Frost and Moonlight.
❄️ Reasons I picked this book up: - a 30-year-old hard-of-hearing FMC who uses hearing aids - a cursed winter fae prince - and an adorable husky - standalone
I don’t read a ton of cozy romantasy, but this was such an easy, feel-good read. The disability rep was honestly my favorite part. The vibes are very wintry fairytale: snow-dusted forests, fae courts, curses, and that soft, glowy feeling you get from animated Disney movies. It's low-stakes and slow burn. Think cozy warm drink by the fire than than angsty knife-to-throat tension.
The main characters are kind and lovable. MMC is a total green flag. The cover is pretty and there are adorable illustrations in the book. My favorite is the last one!
And it's a standalone, which I love! You can just get lost in this world for a bit, get your heart warmed, and not worry about a 10,000-page trilogy commitment 😂
A couple of things held it back from being a full five stars for me. Even though the characters are adults (she's 30 and he's been around since forever), they sometimes felt more like people in their early twenties. There were also moments that felt rushed. I would’ve loved just a bit more time for certain emotional beats and plot points to breathe.
Overall though, this was a cute, comforting, fairytale-esque read with lovely winter vibes and a main character I genuinely wanted good things for.
❄️ Recommended if you’re in the mood for: - low-stakes cozy fantasy - a low-spice, slow-burn romance - found family - disability rep in a magical setting - and a good dog (always a bonus)
Thank you, Epica Book PR and E.J. Lindell for the eARC.
“He was a frozen catastrophe, and she was the only fire left.”
Ahh I absolutely loved and devoured this book, I went into a tiny little reading slump and this lovely little novella by my girl sucked me right out of it and me giggling and kicking my feet like a fool! It was just a breath of fresh air literally but add some ice cold air to it for our main guy. Think Jack Frost but it’s not his fault he’s cursed. 🤷🏼♀️ then we have our FMC Jennifer who likes to live alone at least that’s what she says but I mean if I had to live in our world and feel like I didn’t belong because thats what people told me just because goodness forbid you’re a little different did I mention our girl is deaf and uses hearing aids? And she feels like she doesn’t belong and that she needs to lives alone also forget the mortal men they have nothing on our stalker of Jack Frost with a twist. Yeah he basically kind of stalks her but who cares! He didn’t intentionally do it on purpose he stumbled upon her that sounds better he stumbled upon her. Did I mention he also has a twin? Very protective? Can freeze someone by accidentally touching them with bare hands? Oooh did our mention our girl reads fantasy books sooo like she knows what she should expect if it happens to her. Ahh I’m rambling all this to say I need you to go read because it was chefs kiss. If you want a cute pick me up and just all around very good short standalone, get you in your feels wintery wonderland romance. 10/10 recommend. 🥰 P.S. all imma say. Cast. Iron. Skillet.
ARC Review: Kissed by Frost and Moonlight by @ejlindellauthor
Following Jennifer the fmc whom is partially deaf and requires hearing-aids (but that doesnt stop her living life), we discover she lives isolated im the bush away from everyone.
Enter the mmc Nas, randomly spying on the fmc as he feels drawn to her, woth a sense of protection towards her. Enter my most favourite character - Yule - the adorible little husky guardian pupper (omg my heart).
Whats so special about Jen? Why is Nas attracted to her?? The twist was not what I expected. I knew as soon as we got introduced to Eleanor - shit was about to go down and twist into something I wasn't sure I may be right about??? Damnnn, what hit was NOT what I was expecting!!! Mind - blown. The BOMBSHELLS are insanity?!
But still, in all honesty- little Yule has my whole heart. I really disliked Rose from the beginning of her introduction!
The mention of an Air Frier killed me off 🤣🤣🤣. Epic.
This was an incredibly sweet and quick read. Kissed by Frost and Moonlight is my first novel by this author, and it certainly won’t be the last. It’s a warm, cozy winter fantasy full of romance, magic, and meaningful disability representation that truly won me over.
Jennifer has spent most of her life feeling lonely because to her disability, but after a string of unsuccessful relationships, she’s come to appreciate her independence. Nas, the cursed crown prince, bears a chilling curse—anything he touches freezes into ice. When he crosses paths with Jennifer, he finds himself drawn to her, returning again and again despite the danger. Soon, the two must join forces to protect the fae realm, and what follows is a gentle, fairytale-like story that feels comforting and heartfelt. I especially loved the wintery atmosphere and how easy it was to root for the main character and want the best for her.
"He was a frozen catastrophe, and she was the only fire left."
A great pick if you're looking for: * a slow-burn romance with minimal spice * found family vibes * disability representation within a magical world
Thank you to Epica Book PR for the eARC of Kissed by Frost and Moonlight by E.J. Lindell.
This was an utterly charming and refreshingly quick read. Kissed by Frost and Moonlight is my first introduction to this author, and it certainly won’t be my last. The pacing is brisk, the humor lands well, and the characters bring a delightful sense of warmth and wit to the story. Jennifer, our skillet-wielding FMC, has spent much of her life grappling with loneliness stemming from her disability. After an unsuccessful relationship, she has come to embrace her independence and solitude. However, when unsettling events begin occurring around her home, she decides that adopting a dog for protection might be the safest solution. Nas, the cursed crowned prince and MMC, is bound by a chilling affliction—everything he touches turns to ice. When he encounters Jennifer, his curiosity draws him back to her repeatedly. After leaving behind a snow puppy he created to watch over her, increasingly strange events unfold, and by the time Nas uncovers the truth, it may already be too late. Together, Jennifer and Nas must join forces to save the fae realm. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would happily recommend it to a friend. While it leans more toward sweet fantasy than spicy, it offers a heartfelt and enchanting experience for readers who appreciate gentler romantic elements.
This was such a cute fast read! Kissed by Frost and Moonlight is the first book I have read by this author and I will be reading more for sure. This was a fast read and the characters were funny.
Jennifer is our skillet wielding fmc. She has spent her whole like feeling lonely due to her disability, but after several failed relationships she is fine living on her own. After a few weird things start happening around her home she decides she needs a dog for protection.
Nas is the cursed crowned prince MMC. Anything he touches turns to ice🧊 After coming across Jennifer he is curious enough to keep going back. After trying to leave a snow puppy he created to protect her weird things are starting to happen and by time he finds out what's going on it may be to late.
Jennifer and Nas have to work together to save the fae realm. I like this book and would recommend to a friend. If you like spicier fantasy this book does not have that but is very sweet.
Thank you Epica Book PR and E.J. Lindell for this awesome book!
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 I received this as an ARC and I really enjoyed it! It’s a nice mixture of Peter Pan, Jack Frost, and Frozen. I enjoyed Jennifer and Nas’ relationship, and the playful reality that they enjoyed together. I loved the connection that they both felt, and the balance that they provided each other. One of my biggest complaints is that I feel like authors think they need a specific page count. I needed an extra 200 pages! I would GLADLY have waited for a sequel. It was very rushed in the middle, making me check multiple times to see if I hadn’t accidentally skipped pages. The first 50-100 pages however, were very thought out and written in a way that made me feel invested in the world and story. I just needed mooooorrree! If you’re looking for a cozy romantic fantasy, this is it! It is officially available today on @amazonbooks and @amazonkindle so go grab your copy. And if EJ ever sees this review, I hope she takes this as her sign to not limit herself by silly things like “page count”. If your book needs to be 400 pages, and a sequel, then that’s what the story needs.
This had such a strong start when it came to setting and atmosphere. The wintry, frost-kissed vibe felt perfectly timed for this season, and I really appreciated how immersive and cozy the world itself was. That aspect alone kept me engaged longer than I might have been otherwise.
Unfortunately, the main characters didn’t quite work for me. I struggled to connect with both MCs, and I often found myself far more interested in the side characters. The story was at its best when they were involved—whether through dialogue or plot moments—and I honestly wish they’d had more page time.
I’m also not a fan of the love at first sight trope, and that element didn’t land well for me here. The romance felt rushed, which made it harder to feel emotionally invested in the relationship.
Overall, this was an okay read with a lovely seasonal atmosphere, but it didn’t live up to what I hoped it would be. While I can see its appeal—especially for readers who enjoy instant romance—it just wasn’t quite my cup of tea.
A beautiful story told from 2 different Realms x The characters have wonderful personalities and this shines through while reading about their lives and what events take place within this book x Nas is a cold calculated Fae who has had a curse to freeze everything and anyone he touches while Jennifer is a beautiful soul who has a ear defect having to use hearing aids to assist her with everyday life showing how opposites can attract & make the truest of loves x There as times when I felt the story was rushed and could have used a bit more information to be presented just to gave closure on what was taking place - especially towards the last 5 chapters x I really enjoyed the little twists that the author threw into this book, even though I had a guess at one of them it was still very cleverly wrote when this came to light x Would highly recommend this beautiful heartfelt romantasy xxxxxx
This story felt like stepping into winter—cold, beautiful, dangerous, and impossible to leave. Jennifer won me over immediately. Her hearing aids, her vulnerability, her quiet strength… she’s the kind of heroine you root for with your whole chest. She’s soft but resilient, scared yet brave, and watching her navigate a world not built for her felt powerful.
Nas, on the other hand, is all ice and restraint—until she melts him. I loved how he falls first, how his curse and control crumble around Jennifer like frost under sunlight. Their connection is slow and tense in the best way, a pull that keeps tightening page by page.
The winter court, the spark, the danger wrapped in desire—it made the book feel atmospheric and magical. More than a fantasy romance, it’s about finding strength in the parts of yourself you once thought were weaknesses.
I finished it feeling full, warm, and a little enchanted.
*ARC Review* If you’re looking for a cozy holiday romance, based in fantasy, you have to grab “Kissed by Frost & Moonlight” by E. J. Lindell. A quick holiday read, it is out now and available on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited. I had such a fun time following Jennifer and Nas’s story in this. Plus, I think this will resonate with those who utilize hearing aids, as the main character is introduced as deaf from an authentic POV. At 277 pages, I read this at a leisurely pace in about 3 hours.
From the winter cozy vibes, to the CUTEST puppy and slow burn romance, this has everything you need to read by the fire this holiday season.
❄️ Cozy winter romance ❄️ He falls first ❄️ Disability rep (Deaf heroine) ❄️ Peter Pan / Jack Frost vibes ❄️ Cursed hero ❄️ Slow burn perfection ❄️ Found family & fate
Thank you so much for this wonderful holiday story, and for this ARC. All reviews/opinions are my own.
Honestly, I loved this book! I was absolutely transported into this world right from the very first page. ❄️
On paper, Jennifer and Nas are a very unlikely pair. Jennifer is a human who loves her quiet, cozy cottage in the woods. Nas is a Fae Prince of the Winter Court. However, when an undeniable pull brings them together, it is something they cannot ignore not matter how impractical. Throw in some magic and an adorable husky puppy, and you've got yourself a perfect winter read. 🐺☃️
There were so many things I loved about this book. First and foremost, I can't ignore that the FMC has the same name as me, which has never happened before. Secondly, as a husky lover myself, I was a little extra excited when Yule, the husky puppy/protector, showed up. And finally, I absolutely loved the hearing disability representation in the FMC. 🥰
This book is out now and I highly recommend it! Thank you @epicabookpr and @ejlindellauthor for this advanced copy!
What do you get when you cross Jack Frost, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, and thumbelina? This book. A cozy fantasy romance, set partially in the human world and partially in the Fae realm, we follow Jennifer, a severely hard of hearing human artist and Nas, crown prince of the winter court. Jennifer is such a true to real life woman, clumsy but not dramatically, talks to herself, gets totally hyperfocused in her work to the point of forgetting to eat, forgets to put her hearing aids in and doesn’t notice until she realizes she should have been able to hear something. She is so well written I feel like I could be friends with her. Nas is cool too. Handsome, cursed, and inexplicably drawn to Jennifer, he does everything he can to protect her without anyone finding out. That doesn’t exactly go very well but we wouldn’t have a story if it did! Loved this book!
Such a perfect blend of Peter Pan and Frozen in this book. The first half took me longer to read only because I’m a slow reader and can only read a few pages/chapters at a time, but the second half I breezed through (relative to my normal speed) and I found myself reading more often than normal because it had me hooked.
I was able to truly experience the worlds of Nas and Jennifer through the absolutely brilliant descriptions and I felt that I knew what it would feel like to be in their shoes.
This had me laughing out loud, tearing up and almost every emotion in between. An absolute joy to read and I’m so thankful that I was able to receive an ARC copy of this book. My only regret is that I won’t be able to read it again any time soon and have the same experience.
Arc review: Kissed by frost and moonlight, this story follows Jennifer—a mortal trying to live her ordinary life in the human world—and Nas, the reserved yet irresistible Crown Prince of the Winter Court in the fae realm. Who will remind you of Jack Frost. When Nas steps through a portal to protect her, Jennifer has no idea why she even needs saving… until she’s pulled into his world, where glittering frost magic, hidden motives, and unraveling secrets change everything she thought she knew. I do feel at times the story felt rushed in the middle but it was a great story. I just felt like something was missing for me. I would definitely recommend the book to readers just wish maybe it was longer
Kissed by Frost and Moonlight is a cozy winter fantasy romance about a cursed fae prince, a fiery heroine and a slow burning love story that will melt your heart. I was immediately drawn in by the Peter Pan/Jack Frost inspired premise, beautiful imagery and amazing lived-experience disability representation. The heroine is hard of hearing and uses hearing aids, and I loved getting to know her and seeing the world through her eyes. I also loved that she is a book girlie who enjoys reading enemies to lovers! This was a very cute, very heartwarming story. If you are in the mood for a cozy portal romantasy with fae royalty, fate and a sweet he falls first romance, definitely give this book a read!
Thank you E. J. Lindell and Epica Book PR for a copy of this ARC!
This story is a lovely, and cozy winter romance without having heavy content and I found myself invested into the characters and the world building. One book in this series is not enough and I'm sure I want more of it all, starting with the mother. The lore she brings to the story and how it all cheeily laid out, makes a very compelling plot. My favorite part of this book is author has given a representation to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. It's important to those like myself who grew up never seeing themselves in the media around them. The fact I finally found a character I relate to and can read about experiences I understand, was healing to the inner child.
Kissed by Frost and Moonlight is a romantasy with curses and a lost princess. This is Jennifer and Nas' story filled with romantic gestures and hidden agendas. Their story is so unique, with a touch of Jack Frost/Frozen, featuring fae courts and the ultimate power of the "Spark". I love their connection and how Nas slowly brings her to the fae world where things get interesting. I also love the other characters and how they help each other in protecting Jennifer. I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more.
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this gifted advance readers copy.
This was one of those reads where I kept waiting for it to fully come together. There were flashes of what the story could be—moments where the writing worked and I felt interested and hopeful—but they never quite lasted.
The biggest struggle for me was the inconsistency. One moment it felt engaging and decently written, and the next it felt rough and drawn out, almost like it needed another round of editing. Those longer, slower sections made it hard to stay invested.
It’s not a bad book, which is why I settled on three stars, but it also wasn’t particularly good. There were things I liked, but overall it felt messy and uneven, leaving me more frustrated than satisfied by the end.
This is the second book I've read from E.J. Lindell, and once again she delivers on an immersive experience of vast imagination. Before beginning this, I had been on a reading spree of books with terrible tragedies and can say that Kissed by Frost and Moonlight was a perfect palate cleanser that I most definitely needed. It was a fun, light, fantastical fae tale that gave me all the warm feels despite its frosty wintertime setting. Perfect for this upcoming time of year!
I was given this book as an ARC. All my opinions are my own. Thank you to the author.
This book has magic, icy winter and whimsy. The FMC Jennifer relies on hearing aids but that doesn't stop her. She is strong, feisty and skilled with cookware (if you know, you know.) Nas is the icy fae prince who steals her away. I liked them together and I was rooting for them the whole time. This was a good cozy read and there were really funny moments in here too. The writing was great and I really enjoyed the story.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and if it wasn't for family and work obligations plus a one year old discovering she can run around the house now, I would have devoured this in a day. Short & sweet with low spice, this is the perfect wintry romance where opposites attract and true love prevails. It was delightful from start to finish and dare I say the cure to the toughest of reading slumps?
I fell in love with this book so fast! Like Omgosh, what an original and beautiful idea for a story. Jennifer and Nas were amazing. I loved the world building. A world filled with ice and winter. Just amazing. And I loved that Jennifer felt so safe with Nas. And that her hearing loss was what the fae world needed along with her magic. I just couldn’t get enough of this one. It was just so amazing. I loved every minute of this one and didn’t want it to end.
This was such a wonderful fantasy! Once I started it, I had to finish.
The MMC is strong and supportive of the FMC in such a unique way that my heart melted. Loved the supporting characters, and the descriptions of the realms painted a clear, beautiful picture in my mind's eye.
