Aspen Springs #4

My Three Hometown Mountain Men

Rate this book
Eight years ago, Cole Rivers rescued me on a mountain—
then he broke my heart.

Now a blizzard has me stranded in Aspen Springs again.
And I’m snowed in with him and his very slappable face.

Three brothers. One cabin.
And me—the girl who swore she’d never come back.

Cole’s a single dad with walls higher than the Rockies—
and I’m pretty sure he wants to slap me too.
Theo’s the quiet, steady protector who once had a crush on me.
And Finn? The tattooed flirt who makes trouble look tempting.

I told myself I came for a podcast storyline.
Not a second chance with the man who ruined me…
And definitely not to fall for all three Rivers men.

But this storm brought us back together.
And walking away might be impossible this time.

My Three Hometown Mountain Men is a standalone MFMM why choose romance in the “Aspen Springs” series. It’s a small-town rom-com with lumberjack and enemies-to-lovers heat that will melt snow. No swords cross, but axes fly. Ultra cozy HEA.

MY THREE HOMETOWN MOUNTAIN MEN is part of the Aspen Springs series. It's a steamy, forced-proximity, why-choose, poly, second-chance romance of sorts. This was a great addition to the series. Riley and Cole spend a hot summer together 8 years ago until a miscommunication pulls them apart. 8 years later, Riley is back to explore poly romances for her podcast. She runs into Cole along with his hot brothers Theo and Finn. Cole’s now a single dad with an adorable 6-year-
old son, Maverick. Can the 4 of them make love work? There continues to be miscommunication, along with some laughs, hot chemistry, and finally a happy ending. I loved it.

ARC Read- This is a why-choose, poly love story that grew from miscommunication.

Our FMC Riley is a popular romance podcaster; she's got trauma from her past that she needs to heal. I found her sweet and so frustrating!

MMC Cole is in the lumber business and volunteers with Search and Rescue, along with his two younger brothers. Cole is a broody, angry man (for a good reason) with a very good heart!

MMC Theo, the more reserved middle brother to Cole. He was my favourite, steady and caring, with a dominant energy.

MMC Finn, the youngest brother, has major golden retriever energy. He's light-hearted and sweet.

Enemies to lovers
Friends to lovers
SIngle dad
Small town
Forced Proximity
Emotionally damaged FMC
Always been you
Healing past trauma
Miscommunication
Why choose with brothers
Spice 2-3 chilli pepper

Special mention to the amazing side characters of Abby and Mav.

This would have been an absolute 5-star, but I do personally struggle with miscommunication. It was from the start, and was a good major plot point. I do recommend reading this.

Lacey Day packed the punch with this emotional roller coaster to Aspen Springs.

Eight years ago….

The River’s brothers are part of the search and rescue team in their town. Cole gets a call that there is a young woman lost and there is bad weather coming in, so he goes on his search for said damsel in destress or so he thinks what he doesn’t expect is Riley Graham green-eyed goddess with a tongue on her that could cut glass. Their chemistry and connection is indescribable, they spend the next three months having a relationship that neither of them knew they needed. Then out of nowhere Riley leaves town no words said she just vanishes.

Present:

Riley shows back up in Aspen Springs due to an anonymous tip she received that will fit right in with her podcast for her business Serendipity. She's doing a piece on poly relationships and there are several in Aspen Springs. She is doing a piece on each group of people, learning all about their love story. And who is the first person that she sees and is rescued by again you ask? Mr Cole Rivers in the flesh, is she happy about this absolute not. Does she have any other choice, also no thank you to the snow storm that is currently rolling in. Being back in Coles space again is bringing back hurtful memories of their past time together. But the one good thing about being back here is that she gets to reconnect with Finn and Theo as they had formed a bond/friendship back when her and cold dated.

She finally meet Maverick and then are bonding getting along with one another and then…. Maverick asks her to come with him to see his favorite place, she can't say no. However, the ice cracks on their way back, but Riley saves Maverick first! She's going down under when suddenly Cole is there, helping her get out of the water. He sees the cut on her head and knows he needs to get her back to the house! Cole is in full panic mood tending to the two of them. He gets them back to comfort and he and Abby are forever grateful for her brave act of saving Maverick.

Cole can feel the shift with Riley and he finally knows the why to her disappearance all those eight years ago. So he does when he should have. Cole steps up and finally admits his feelings for her. Riley had hated him for so long or so she thought of what she overheard and he's just as ticked off at her for leaving with no explanation. A total misunderstanding that spiraled and made her leave before. They talk as a group to figure out how this is all going to work with all three of them being with Riley. They make it work, but then the men tell her that three little word…..

She leaves again, but this time she IS coming back. She had to go back "home" to fix some things about herself by talking with a therapist and she does a podcast about her relationship with her three men, IF they still want her. Well of course they still want her after she explains why she left this time. This was a story about finding who you are as a person and letting people in. I loved this book.

These three men were so different with their relationship. I loved the fact that they have history and the friendship that were built helped with the connections. And I feel that’s what made this book the best one I’ve read. These three men fact that everyone else saw this relationship before they all did and the poly-relationship was what she went there to research.

Maverick you sneaky little boy who is too smart for your own good who pieces together the clues of who Riley was and how to get her back to Aspen Springs. You are the real hero in this second chance love story.

Another wonderful book set in Aspen Springs! It was also very emotional. But I loved it as I do any book that I read by the prolific Lacey Day!

Cole, Theo and Finn are three brothers who own a search and rescue operation. Cole takes a call and goes to rescue a woman. When he gets there, she argues with him and he finally tells her she’s coming with him NOW because there is a bad storm coming.

She grumbles but starts down the mountain with him. She thinks he’s just a grump and he thinks she’s a brat. This is the beginning of their relationship.

Eight years later…Riley shows back up in Aspen Springs due to an anonymous tip she received that will fit right in with her podcast for her business Serendipity. She’s doing a piece on poly relationships and there are several in Aspen Springs. She is doing a piece on each group of people, learning all about their love story.

Of course the first person she sees is Cole. She hates him after what she overheard and he’s just as ticked off at her for leaving with no explanation. A total misunderstanding that spiraled and made her leave before. And now there’s another person in the mix…Cole’s six-year old son, Maverick. Riley thinks of him as an adult in a small person’s body with how he talks sometimes! And there’s something important that will show up later – actually towards the end – about Maverick! You’ll have to read the book to find out what that is!

There is one thing she’s happy about – getting to see Finn and Theo again! She became friends with them while dating grumpy pants Cole. She hopes they don’t hate her too. And it is apparent that they don’t when the three of them get together!

She goes about her business and gets to know Maverick better. When he asks her to come with him to see his favorite place, she can’t say no. However, the ice cracks on their way back, but Riley saves Maverick first! She’s going down under when suddenly Cole is there, helping her get out of the water. He sees the cut on her head and knows he needs to get her back to the house ASAP!

At the thought of losing Riley, Cole steps up and finally admits his feelings for her. The talk as a group to figure out how this is all going to work with all three of them being with Riley. They make it work!

She leaves again, but this time she IS coming back. She had to go back “home” to fix some things about herself by talking with a therapist and she does a podcast about her relationship with her three men, IF they still want her.

Well of course they still want her after she explains why she left this time.

This was a story about finding who you are as a person and letting people in. I loved this book!.

Prepare to be swept away by another enchanting tale in the beloved Aspen Springs series! From the very first page, this book promises to captivate and delight, much like its predecessors.

The story plunges us into a gripping scenario as a sudden blizzard descends upon Aspen Springs, leaving Riley stranded. But this isn't just any cabin; it's a crucible where fate intervenes, trapping her with the man who shattered her heart eight long years ago: Cole. Now a single father, Cole's presence alone is enough to ignite a storm of emotions within Riley.

Adding to the emotional entanglement are Cole's two brothers. There's Theo, the quiet and steadfast one, who harboured a secret crush on Riley in the past. His reserved demeanour hints at a depth of feeling that has perhaps never truly faded. Then there's Finn, a magnetic and tattooed flirt, whose mischievous charm and alluring presence promise to lead Riley into all sorts of delightful trouble. As the blizzard rages outside, the tension inside the cabin builds, paving the way for a dramatic exploration of past hurts, unspoken desires, and the intoxicating possibility of a second chance at love amidst the snowy isolation.

This has a perfect blend of tension, passion, humour, and heartfelt emotion, it’s a story that will keep you utterly engrossed until the final word. Much like the previous instalments, I found myself unable to put this book down, completely absorbed by the compelling narrative and richly drawn characters. This is not just a recommended read; it’s an essential addition to your literary collection, and indeed, the entire series is a must-have for any romance enthusiast.

Serendipity and Second Chances

Lacey Day brings us back to the little mountain town of Aspen Springs, this time with the Rivers brothers and I absolutely loved this story!

Riley meets Cole eight years prior, and they share an unforgettable summer together before she flees to Los Angeles. Now, Riley hosts a podcast called “Serendipity,” where she shares romantic love stories of real couples. When an anonymous tip comes in about the poly relationships in Aspen Springs, she finds herself taking a trip back to the very place, and the man, that once broke her heart in two.

A series of unexpected mishaps lands her back at her ex, Cole’s house, not once but twice. Despite the years apart, Cole still harbors deep feelings for Riley, even if he tries to hide them behind anger and resentment. He’s now a single dad to Maverick, the smartest six-year-old you’ll ever meet.

Then there’s Theo, the quiet brother who has always loved Riley from afar and brings a deliciously dominant energy in the bedroom. 😉 And Finn, the youngest, is the jokester of the family, always smiling and keeping things light. Together, the three brothers support Riley in ways she never expected, and watching their dynamic unfold was such a treat.

I adored this story and the vivid world Lacey built. It’s packed with tropes I love enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, single dad, and emotionally scarred characters were woven beautifully into a heartfelt and steamy romance.

What Happens On The Mountain…Is Meant To Go FAR Beyond The Mountain

I do believe this was my favorite in this series! Riley was such a perfectly balanced FMC with so many layers of personality, and each of them got tested by the 3 brothers she got stranded with in a snowstorm. I mean thankfully it wasn’t strangers at least…right? 😉😝😂 Riley didn’t necessarily agree, but pretty soon she wasn’t so mad about it 👀🤭 How could she be, with men like Cole, Theo & Finn. The way these men balanced out Riley, and had such a wide range of ways that they all completed her. It’s so rare to get 3 MMCs that are so different, and so well brought to life. There was no chance of getting these guys confused in my mind, but I’ll tell you a secret…Riley might not have played favorites, but I sure will 🤫 Theo was hands down my favorite (now I just need to figure out how to pull him out of the book 🤔😝 Better not, cause Riley found that she needed all 3 of them for her to get her HEA, so I’ll control myself 😂 Honestly though, even though I’m not a fan of second chance stories, this was done so good, that I quickly overcame any hesitation I might’ve had. Not once did I get bored, or wish the story would end…I was happily in it until the very end. Y’all need to grab this one NOW ❤️

I did not intend to spend my morning crying!! Lacey Day! You are making me feel the all the things!!

🌲 Brothers who love hard
🌲 Enemies to lovers
🌲 Friends to lovers
🌲 Emotionally damaged FMC
🌲 Single dad
🌲 Small mountain town
🌲 The cutest mystery matchmaker
🌲 Always been you
🌲 Healing past trauma

Talk about emotions!! It’s hard to not give things away while trying to describe this book. I’ll put it like this. Our FMC gets “rescued” while hiking and falls in love with her rescuer. They fall hard and fast. A lot of past childhood trauma and some miscommunication happens and she takes off without a word, swearing to never return.

Well. You already know. She returns to this little mountain town 8 years later due to her career. An anonymous tip brings her back. (OMG THE BEST anonymous tippster too!!) She is rescued again by the same man, who hates her btw. She left and broke his heart!! She stays with the rescuer and his 2 brothers that she had secret feelings for. They all FINALLY come together.

But our FMC has to be all emotionally mature. Why?? Why do we have to be adults. Again, I don’t want to give anything away. But this had me crying with the happiest ever after. Like maybe Lacey Day’s best book ending I’ve read so far.

Highly recommend this book. This whole series is fantastic.

My Three Hometown Mountain Men - Lacey Day

This author has addictive writing. It has such a nice cozy feel that I know exactly what I’m getting when I open the book. The characters are always so interesting and they always have such fantastic chemistry. Riley, Cole, Theo, and Finn were so fun and their story was the perfect way to end this series. I can’t wait to read more from the author.

Lacey Day is my favourite reverse harem author. I was so excited to visit Aspen Springs and check in on my favourite poly couples.

In this book we meet Riley, a podcaster who loves real life romance stories and is coming to Aspen Springs to investigate the town’s poly relationships. Just one minor issue, she had her heartbroken one summer 8 years ago by Cole and she’s dreading bumping into him again.

Cole is now a single Dad and lives with his brothers Theo and Finn. Think sexy lumberjacks & strong sexy mountain rescuers. I love how they each have distinct personalities: Cole the moody one, Theo the quiet dark house and Finn the cheeky, tattooed one (my favourite).

It’s a fun, spicy read with some added heartbreak and issues that the characters have to work through. You’ll be full invested from the start.

Like the rest of the Aspen Springs series I highly recommend it. It can be read as a standalone but I enjoy reading the series as there’s cameos from the other couples which I love. 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Riley, Cole, Theo, & Finn . . .

Cole Rivers had met Riley 8 years ago in the mountains in Aspen Springs and spent some time with her until she unexpectedly ran away without an explanation. Now with Riley hosting a popular podcast, she hears about the interesting relationships going on back in Aspen Springs and returns to get a story for her listeners. Cole and his brothers, Theo and Finn, all live together in a cabin. When the pipes break at her rental, Cole's brothers bring Riley to their cabin for shelter. She had worried about meeting up with Cole again, and finds he is now a single dad to a bright 6-year-old named Maverick. What will happen when a blizzard forces all of them to stay together? Riley wasn't anticipating a second chance with Cole after their last heartbreak. Yet the three brothers are very tempting. And it's not like she has an actual choice with the blizzard raging outside, right? Hang on to your emotions -- they are going to get a workout with this one! Is there a HEA possible? Or will this just be a painful reminder of the past?

I have read all of Lacey Day's books in this series and this is hands down the best one. This book continues her series set in Aspen Springs with Riley as our FMC. Her men are Cole, Theo, and Finn. Riley met Cole at the beginning of a storm 8 years ago and they spent a summer together. Riley leaves Cole without a word breaking both of their hearts. In the present, Riley has returned as the host of a successful love podcast to interview the FMCs from previous books. Once again, Riley is saved before a storm and ends up staying with the three brothers. This is a low angst cozy book and though I'm not a huge fan of second chance, I loved it. I love how Lacey portrayed the co-parenting relationship between Cole and his child's mother and the friendship she forms with Riley. There are some decently deep themes that are handled well and I found myself tearing up and laughing at different points in the book. Definitely pick this one up!.

Another wonderful book in an amazing series (Aspen Springs). I was chuckling and hooked from the very start of this story, with it's tension filled, hot and steamy, funny and warmhearted story line which will keep you hooked from start to finish too. I didn't want to put this book down just like the previous stories in this series. This is a must read book and series.
After getting trapped in a cabin when a blizzard hits Aspen Springs, Riley finds herself trapped with the man (Cole) who broke her heart 8 years before and his 2 brothers, Cole is now a single dad, Theo who had a secret crush on her in the past, is quiet and steady and then there is Finn, a tattooed flirt and a temptation to get into all sorts of trouble.

This is a great story filled with regret, pain, and hope. A massive misunderstanding caused Riley to flee Aspen Springs leaving Cole and his 2 brothers behind. She loves Cole but overheard a devastating phone call.

It’s been 12 years and Riley tries to sneak into Aspen Falls, to record for her successful podcast, “Serendipity”.

Unfortunately, she gets delayed by a snowstorm and Cole Rivers is sent out to rescue a lost woman. What ensues is a story of painful memories, attraction to Cole’s 2 brothers, love for his young son, and and a budding friendship with the boys mother.

Can these characters overcome the pain of Riley leaving and reappearing? Their own feelings? Can they embrace the love they have or is it too late?.

Lacey Day’s My Three Hometown Mountain Men is a heartfelt and steamy reverse harem small town romance that blends emotional depth with sizzling chemistry. The story follows Riley, a pod caster who is returning to Aspen Springs after a holiday 8 years ago to follow a story from an anonymous tip (but what happened on that holiday). Riley has struggled with abandonment issues and a deep fear of getting too close. Her vulnerability makes her instantly relatable, and Lacey handles her emotional journey with sensitivity and care

Enter Cole, Finn, and Theo three rugged, loyal mountain men who each bring something different to Riley’s healing process. Cole’s steadiness, Finn’s easy charm, and Theo’s quiet protectiveness create a dynamic that feels both tender and passionate. Despite their differences, all three find themselves falling hard for Riley, not out of pity but out of genuine love and admiration for her strength.

What really makes this book shine is how it balances emotional growth with the spicy, slow burn romance readers expect from the genre. The setting complete with small town gossip, mountain views, and cozy cabins adds just the right touch of warmth.

This is a very intense story that I thoroughly enjoyed and couldn’t put down to the very last page. Riley is a podcaster who is reporting on the poly situation in Aspen Springs. Cole is a single father and the man who broke her heart eight years ago and she is dreading meeting him again, his two brothers Theo, and Finn we all have very distinct and different personalities. Cole is the moody one, Theo the quiet dark horse and Finn the cheeky, tattooed one. There is so much going on in this story, lots of steam, drama and intense emotions. As always, after all the emotional push and pull, they eventually settle down and go on to their happily ever after.

When a mysterious email brings Riley back to the man she left behind 8 years ago, along with the two brothers who make up the family she finds in Aspen Springs.

This book was DELICIOUS, and I loved every second of it. From the absolute lumbersnack of a gentle giant that is Finn, to the (and this is my favorite trope) KINKY KEYBOARD KING that is Theo, this book has everything PLUS single Dad Cole is a whole mood. Did I say single dad? I DID, and Mav is most definitely one of the my favorite child characters in the series.

The banter is witty, the HEA is absolute FIRE, and the book is, once again, unputdownable. I cannot wait to see what the next book brings.

Aspen Springs sounds amazing and I want to visit or vacation there as much I have gotten to know everyone in the series. But I love the FMC in this storyline as Riley is a podcaster living in LA and decides to venture to Aspen Springs to investigate the polyamorous relationship boom the town has seen but she has been here before and hearts were broken. This where you meet Cole, Rileys ex that she ran away from because of a miscommunication and his young son and two brothers Finn and Theo. They have a tight relationship but are all caught up in Riley and she has matured over the years and it was so realistic in how they all came together. You will laugh, you will probably holler at them for the miscommunications and you will cry but the spice is spicing and you get a HEA.

Wonderful Heartwarming RH romance

A lovely fun heartwarming small-town RH romance, the fourth set in Aspen Springs, with mountain rescue, great banter (really made me smile), lovely character development, chemistry, spice, romance and love.

Riley first met Cole when he tried to rescue her from a mountain storm, but he then broke her heart after a night together. When she comes back to their small town eight years later to record an episode of her podcast she finds herself trapped with him and his brothers when a blizzard hits the town. She finds she's still drawn to Cole but there's temptation with both Theo and Finn as well.

Cole's a moody, single dad now
Theo's quiet and protective
Finn's a tattooed cheeky flirt

But can they find a way to make it work with all of them?

I absolutely fell in love with Riley, Cole, Theo and Finn from the beginning of this adventure. I love how these guys (who are brothers) all fall in love with the same woman. Cole dated her 8 years ago but she just picked up and left him and he had no idea why. When she finally came back to town for a podcast episode she got stuck in the snow and needed to be saved and that is how she ended up with Cole and eventually his brothers too. I love how this story had me laughing at one point and crying the next. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves stories about found families and falling for more than one man.

Respect, Patience, and Love
Another great read by Lacey Day. Wonderfully MCs. Even the side characters are incredibly intertwined as well. This story has depth that brings depth to the setting of Aspen Springs and some previous characters we’ve met before. I appreciated the way the past was woven into the future to showcase why the FMC acted the way she did, but without too much angst-ridden history being shared. This story, people, settings feel ‘real’, it’s easy to become invested in their tale. I recommend this book for those looking for a well-written romance with that extra little something and a HEA.

I felt instantly connected to the characters, and I stayed invested from start to finish. There were a few grammatical hiccups, but nothing that pulled me out of the story. The humor and sweetness threaded throughout made the emotional beats land even harder.

The epilogue was hands-down my favorite part of the entire book — not just because of the HEA, but because of the genuine love, happiness, and humor packed into those final pages. It left me smiling like I personally lived through it.

I’m already counting down the days until Abby’s story — may she be loved loudly, heated thoroughly, and blessed repeatedly.

Ms Day has certainly hit this run right out of the park! Yet another great read from this series. I love that she has not only given us a new "family", but has also found a way to bring back the other three new found families from the series. With just the right amount of heat, pain, forgiveness, hurt and love, this book is sure to wrap your heart in it's own little warm blanket, as Riley and her men find their way, not only back to each other, but to their very own story of love!
Definitely worth the read! I wonder who will be next to find her "family"? Perhaps Abby? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!.

I hadn’t realized that there was another book in the Aspen Spring series, so it was a nice surprise. I enjoyed this story with Riley and the River brothers. The back history with Cole and Riley and how Theo and Finn also had feelings for her back then. There was a lot of angst between Riley and the brothers and it made for a good storyline. I really enjoyed how the characters in the 3 previous books were a big part of this one with them being the main subjects of Riley’s podcast. Not as spicy as some of Lacey’s earlier books but it’s not lacking.

Yet another cute reverse harem romance delivered by Lacey! Loved the winter theme. I’m a sucker for anything winter/holiday season. The dynamic between Cole and Abby was incredible showing off a healthy coparenting/friendship relationship. The way Abby was so open and kind to Riley was also beautiful. I enjoyed the representation of taking care of your mental health/past trauma before jumping into a serious relationship. Like always all 3 men had be swooning for them even Mr. Grump Cole.

This is another amazing yet emotional story set in Aspen Springs. Riley, Cole, Finn, and Theo wrecked my heart in this page turner. Cole's son Maverick stole my heart. When Riley goes back to aspen springs for her podcast she's back in territory of her lost love Cole. When Their forced to live together it's this brothers Finn & Theo that give into their desires for Riley. And Cole keeps at her arms length still heartbroken she left all those years before. But love knows no bounds and soon all 3 are engaged in a why choose romance with lots of fun & flirty banter. It's a heartwarming and beautiful story and how love belongs no matter what or where and you can't fight fate.

I always enjoy reading Lacey Day's books. I love how even though they are standalone, they build on each other. Great story about even when you know that you love someone and care deeply for them, you make sure that you love and trust yourself first. I not only enjoy the MC but also the side characters, combined all make a great story.
