Book Two of The Broken and Bound Duet

JENSEN
She left me. She really left me.
Filed for divorce. Hell, she won’t even talk to me.
Calls sent to voicemail.
Texts left on read.

And the worst part? I can’t blame her.
I had it all: a wife who loved me, a future we dreamed about.
I destroyed it. I hurt her, and she walked out.

I’m an addict. I’ve messed up more times than I can count—drugs, lies, relapse.
I’m clean now. I put in the work.
But none of it means anything without her.

I lost her once, and I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I’m not the man who broke us.

ALLEY
I miss him. More than ever.
I keep telling myself the ache will fade. That I only need time—time to forget, to heal, to move on.

But it’s useless. No one falls in love with Jensen Adams and forgets.
He was my everything, until he wasn’t.
The plan was simple. Leave. Start over.

Now he’s holding me when I need him most, looking at me like he always has—
Like he loves me.

Love can’t erase the past.
Trust isn’t rebuilt overnight.

But what if the love that broke us… is the same love that saves us?

*This is Book Two of The Broken & Bound Duet. Book One, A Love That Broke Us must be read first.

A Love That Saved Us is truly a work of art. The quality of Erin's story telling deserves all of the accolades and praise. After A Love That Broke Us there was a lot to atone for. A Love That Saved Us completely delivered.

Jensen's redemption arc is hard earned, and oh so good! He is putting in the work and even more delicious than before.

The way Erin writes inner dialogue puts you right in the moment. You can actually feel Alley and Jensen's emotions come to life. I love the dual POV, and getting the raw feelings of both characters.

It is so hard to choose forgiveness, but the way Alley fights for the life she's dreamed of and the love she doesn't want to live without, is truly beautiful to watch.

With A Love That Saved Us we get the yum, the side characters we love, the spice, the character growth, and the best HEA a reader could ever ask for. I am all about closure, and Erin wraps up the duet with a magnificent, tidy little bow.

I was so excited to read the HEA for Jensen and Alley. And let me tell you, this book didn't disappoint me. I loved it! You know when people are hurt and broken up they lash out to each other and try to hurt each other. I am so glad that didn't happen in their story. Erin wrote it with so much love and tender despite the hurt and pain. I felt everything. Alltough I knew there was a happy ending I was on the edge of my seat the total time to know what happens next.

I rarely remember character names, because I read a lot of books, but Jensen and Alley have a piece of my heart and will never forget them. I highly recommend this duet to every reader out there. And I will reread their story again and again. Now I can't wait for Matt his story because that guy is the greatest friend alive and deserves his own happily ever after.

This book is the second book in Jensen and Alley's duet. You need to read 'A love that broke us' first!

This is book two of the Broken and Bound Duet. If you haven't read A Love That Broke Us yet, that needs to be read first.

I have never wanted a redemption for a character as much as I did for Jensen. Boy did he work for it! I don't want to go into too many details so I don't spoil it.

I went through all of the emotions right along with Alley and Jensen. That is the power that is Erin's writing. She makes her worlds and characters feel as if you could pick up the phone and call them yourself.

I strongly recommend you read this book if you enjoy an amazing redemption arc. If you are a fan of second chance romance, this is the book for you. The dual POV gives you insight into both characters thoughts as they navigate this new kind of normal. The most important thing is that if you love a good HEA, you NEED to read this book. Just remember to read book one first.

Thank you as always to Erin for trusting me with your work and the opportunity to read early. I love Alley and Jensen🫶

After emotionally draining first book, this one was so weak. First of all, it did not feel real - compared to the first one. Maybe it is due to the fact the first one is more or less based on the author’s real life while the second is just fiction.

Honestly I would expect more traumatic moments, such as - a flashback of their disastrous sex attempt while Jensen was high as kite so that Alley felt like she was with a stranger. How did she pass that one so easily?

Also, I would expect to hear more about Jensen’s detox process. We have the letters but still, he is like totally sober from the very second chapter or so.

I wish the author did not stick to romance genre and gave us a realistic story. I don’t mind them being together again but it is kinda weird that Jensen almost never had a fallback, Alley got over her trauma quite easily and none of the family members intervened. If Alley was my friend, I would show Jensen HELL.

A Love that Saved Us was an emotionally stunning and heartbreakingly beautiful read. It is book two in this powerful duology, with book one being A Love that Broke Us. I truly cannot recommend these books enough. If you haven’t picked them up yet, you need to experience them.

I fell in love with Alley and Jensen from the very beginning of book one, and when everything shattered, my heart shattered with it. Even though Jensen was the cause of the fall, I still found myself rooting for his redemption. Erin’s writing is unforgettable because it challenges you to feel deeply, even when it goes against what you believe should be right.

This story gave me chills over and over again. The way it is written makes the emotions leap right off the page and settle into your heart.

ARC Review

Spoiler Warning: if you haven’t read the preceding book (A Love That Broke us), this review contains spoilers for that book.

Content Warning: This book contains themes of addiction, recovery, and emotional trauma.

A Love That Saved Us is the second book in the Broken and Bound Duet within the Chicago Series, and it cannot be read as a standalone—you’ll definitely want to read A Love That Broke Us first.

This story picks up right where ALTBU left off. Alley has walked away from Jensen, who continues to battle addiction, and she’s left to reconcile the heartbreak of letting go while protecting herself and her heart. Meanwhile, Jensen’s journey to rock bottom becomes the turning point that forces him to face his pain—and fight for redemption.

Erin Cornia portrays Jensen’s addiction and recovery journey with honesty and compassion. It’s not glossed over or romanticized—it’s raw, messy, and deeply human. Watching Jensen confront his demons and fight for himself and for Alley adds incredible emotional weight to the story.

If you’ve read A Love That Broke Us, you already know how deeply emotional Erin Cornia’s writing can be. She has a rare talent for pulling readers completely into her characters’ pain, hope, and love—you truly feel everything right alongside them. A Love That Saved Us is no exception. This story broke me in the best way—shattering my heart and then slowly piecing it back together with so much grace and hope.

This duet is beautifully written, emotionally raw, and utterly unforgettable. Erin Cornia delivers another stunning, heartfelt story that reminds us how powerful love—and healing—can be.

Shoutout to Luna Literary for the ARC because I truly could not wait for book 2 😂

Ugh Alley and Jensen…what a ride. This duet did something to me. It was so raw and real, I felt like I was really in it with them. Book 1 guts you and book 2 puts you back together.

I think reading Jensen’s journey was so hard because he really was such a good guy that got swept up by addiction by mistake. He wasn’t an asshole he was a genuinely a great husband, friend, son, brother so you were always rooting for him to pull through and fight his demons. You see him put in the work and really fight for Alley, their marriage and your love for them as a couple grows more and more.

This duet and series in general is everything. 5 stars⭐️ all around!!

I’m really hoping Matt gets a book because I’m frickinnn obsessed with him 🥵

Alsooo, please don’t skip out on the authors notes at the end of both books in this duet. Reading her real life experience with addiction really made me love this series on a whole new level!

The second book in the Broken and Bound duet. I absolutely loved the first book and this one was also very good. This story picks up right where the first one left off, Jensen‘s life ruined by his pain, pill addiction, and Alley finally, officially, leaving him because of it.

The story touches on Jensen‘s experience in rehab, Alley trying to rebuild her life outside of her broken marriage, the importance of communication, the weight of forgiveness, and how you can find the strength to trust again even when you have been absolutely shattered. This is a beautiful story of redemption, fighting the odds, shutting off your head and following your heart.

Beta read for this duet and it was so special being a part of their journey!

This story is such a good redemption arc and exactly what I needed from Jensen after the ending of A Love That Broke Us 💔

Jensen and Alley definitely put in the work to find their way back to each other and you truly feel how hard every step is for them. I really enjoyed the balance between the messy parts and the soft moments. Their chemistry stays steady, their connection feels real and made me root for them, even through all the betrayal and pain. It’s definitely not a light or easy read but it’s totally worth it in the end.

At its core, this duet is about true love, addiction, forgiveness, redemption, healing, friendship and trust. It’s filled with powerful moments that had me in tears more than once. I don’t want to give anything away but if you’re looking for a raw, honest, and deeply emotional love story, this is it!

"You don't want someone to make you forget, Alley. You just want the guy who broke your heart to fix it." - Adam, Alley's friend

"You're not fighting to keep her. You're fighting to be the guy she deserved before she left." -Matt, Jensen's best friend

"But the truth is, I stood at the center of everyone's lives with a bomb I didn't even know I was holding - then lit the match." -Jensen

"I'll love you until you're mine again...And I'll keep loving you..." -Jensen

"He's here. He didn't betray my trust. He didn't lie. When I needed him, he caught me. Finally. G-d finally." -Alley

Alley & Jensen. I can't say enough about this duet - how I hesitated to read the first one and then didn't know if I could read the second because the first crushed my heart. But the author assured us that the HEA was coming in A Love That Saved Us. And you know what, it did. Big time. The entire book was so satisfying, to see the work, the mistrust, the harder work, the patience. I'm not sure I could do either side of that. But they did and I'm so happy I read both of these books. I love Alley & Jensen so much and I'm so proud of them. I have to keep reminding myself that they are book characters!

This duet is part of the Erin Cornia's "The Chicago Series" - they come in at books 3 and 4. I'm going back to read from the beginning where we meet so many of these amazing secondary characters and learn their stories. Erin is one of my new favorite authors, this duet will be on my top books of the year list for sure.

What you'll find/tropes:
*marriage in crisis
*redemption
*meet cute
*found family
*addiction
*it's always been you
*it's always going to be you

I received a complimentary eARC and my review is voluntary. Thank you to the author and Luna Literary Management.

Where do I even begin? A Love That Saved Us is an absolute masterpiece and the perfect conclusion to Alley and Jensen’s story. Book 1 broke me in the best and worst ways, but this book truly put me back together. It didn’t just mend my heart for Alley and Jensen — it healed parts of me, too, especially given my own history with an addict in the past.

Erin Cornia pours her whole heart and soul into every single word she writes, and it shows on every page. Watching Jensen fully commit to his recovery and fight to become the man Alley deserved was everything. His growth, accountability, and devotion were breathtaking to witness. At the same time, Alley’s internal struggle — deciding whether she could risk loving him again — was so raw, honest, and painfully real. The way their journey unfolded was emotional, powerful, and ultimately so rewarding.

This duet is absolute perfection. Alley and Jensen are everything. Infinity stars. No notes.

Wow, what a way to end the year ✨
A Love That Saved Us is a beautiful redemption to a love story that completely broke my heart.

Imagine wanting the one person who feels like home back in your life—but also being terrified because you don’t trust that your heart could survive being broken again. That’s exactly the emotional space this book lives in, and it hit hard.

I’m always drawn to emotionally messy stories—the ones that deal with real pain, tough choices, and complicated feelings. Erin Cornia’s duet delivered all of that. A Love That Broke Us truly lived up to its title and left me feeling just as shattered as the characters.

This time around, A Love That Saved Us focuses on Jensen’s journey of atonement. It felt raw, hopeful, and real. The story shows that second chances are possible, but they don’t come easily—and sometimes redemption is something you have to work toward every single day.

I absolutely loved this duet and am really looking forward to reading more from this author. If you’re looking to add an emotional, heartfelt romance to your 2026 TBR, I definitely recommend checking out this duet.

I went into this one already braced for impact, but it still knocked the wind out of me in the best way. Alley and Jensen pulled me straight back into their mess of love, hurt, and hope, and everything felt so raw and human. He worked for his redemption with this steady, vulnerable determination that made it impossible not to root for him, and she carried this blend of strength and exhaustion that hit way too close to home. I loved how the story never tried to romanticize addiction, it let it be ugly, heavy, and complicated, while still giving space for healing to breathe. There were moments where I was aching for them to choose each other and others where I wanted them to just choose themselves, and that emotional push pull made their journey feel real instead of cinematic. The letters, the panic spirals, the therapy sessions, the quiet moments where trust rebuilt itself molecule by molecule, they all made their HEA feel earned. I closed the last page wishing I could linger with them just a little longer. Thank you so much to the author and Luna Literary PR for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.

Book Two of the Broken and Bound Duet.

This book cracked me open in ways I didn't expect. It's devastating and beautiful all at once. Heavy with loss, love, and the kind of pain that lingers. Erin didn't just tell a story; she gave readers something raw and real, something that hurts because it's honest.

Watching Alley and Jensen's world fall apart was suffocating.
You feel every fracture, every mistake, every moment where it seems impossible to come back from. The road to redemption is long, exhausting, messy, and they earn every step of it.

But what makes this story unforgettable is the hope woven through the wreckage. Piece by piece, you watch them rebuild. You see healing take root where devastation once lived. Their second chance isn't perfect or easy. It's real, and it's powerful, and it reminds you that even after everything breaks, love can still find a way forward.

This book hurts... and then it heals.

"But you'll never know what it feels like to be the one who put it there. To be the one you don't trust. The one who broke it all....'God, I love you so much, and I broke you. That light that used to shine in your eyes—I dimmed it. I sucked the joy out of life. Out of everything."

She's the love of my life. My anchor-my way back, every time.

I never thought I was the one who needed saving, but God, he rescued me. Pulled me from the sad hole I'd buried myself in and showed me how to live again. How to breathe. How to laugh. How to love. He saved me. Saved us. And I'll never forget it.

4 ⭐️ 3 🌶️ 3.5 🤍 - wow, what a journey this duet was. I finished this in one day so it only felt appropriate to give a high rating. The plot was not complex. It was just a raw and honest continuation from book 1. THE LETTERS SENT ME. The authors note with the phone call from the ex. I really wanted an emotional read going into this duet and I do feel like this gave me that without the utter soul destruction some books have given me. It’s a pity I didn’t know about the other books first I probably would’ve liked to have read them.

This book was an ♾️ star read for me. I loved it.

What can I say about Alley and Jensen? I’m obsessed with them. They both went THROUGH it in this book and the journey they went on was a masterpiece to read.

As someone who has family members who struggle with addiction, I could relate to the struggle that Alley had, though I’ve never been exactly in her shoes, I really related to Scarlett and Cooper. There were so many times that I wanted her to just leave, but I was rooting for them too.

I loved this quote “I’m not saying stay or go. I’m saying choose. Because the second you stop living in limbo? That’s when you’ll feel peace again. And you’ll know, once you make a decision, if it’s the right path for you. I truly believe that. Energy shifts, and the universe works for us, if we allow it. If we trust it. Girl, forgive yourself. Move forward—in any direction. Just pick one. You deserve to be happy.” It’s so real. It’s how you feel as the person who is watching this relationship. And you just want your friend/sister/person to be happy, no matter what they choose.

Thank you for this book and these characters Erin!

So thankful to receive an ARC for this beautiful book.
This is the second book in the Broken and Bound duet. You must read “A love that broke us” before continuing with this.

My favorite books are ones that make your heart beat up
In your throat because you are so nervous how it’s going to play out….and this delivers on all accounts. It is raw, emotional, and so very REAL. What happens to Jensen and Ally could happen to anyone and that makes this story extremely powerful. As a reader you are constantly asking “what would I do in this situation”. And in reality there is not a correct path….which makes you continually guessing how it’s going to play out.

Loved every minute ❤️❤️

Whomp whomp. This felt weak compared to book 1 when it came to the couple, emotions, and plot. I can't say I'm satisfied in "the pay out" of this one in exchange for the pain book 1 put me through ... and to be totally honest I'm not sure Jensen and Alley really will make it work long term. I mean I don't think they addressed anything too meaningful, and sadly just kinda danced around the trauma of book 1 :/// I was bored by the end and totally skimmed the last 15% or so.

2 stars might be generous this book annoyed me so much. It was beyond repetitive and had way too much smut for a book about addiction recovery. Like I get it’s a romance but can we please focus on the plot??? And the book references were so cringey. The fact that I read the first book within a day but had to FORCE myself to pick this book up def should say something.

These are fictional people and yet I feel that my soul has been healed by Jensen’s redemption. What an incredible story! It just felt so very real and I was so invested in their relationship.

Jensen has an absolute heart of gold and is the best kind of human, but all humans make mistakes. No one is perfect. The struggle he goes through when he’s in rehab, when he gets out of rehab and is trying to heal his relationships are raw and honest. And this book takes a good look at how addiction affects everyone involved and the faith it takes to trust someone again.

I am in awe of Erin’s writing and her story telling capabilities. This doesn’t feel like only her fourth book. I love this world that she’s created, the found family aspect and the really honest feelings and actions that her characters have and take.

Thank you Erin for this gem!

This duet is quite literal perfection. A Love That Broke Us broke me. And A Love That Saved Us put me back together again.

The way we couldn't help but to fall in love with Jensen even when he was absolutely falling apart. And at the same time, we absolutely raged for Alley and screamed that she deserved better.

And in ALTSU- Jensen fights the hardest fight and Alley stands up for herself in a huge way. Alley absolutely knows what she deserves and will settle for nothing less. But Jensen earns that redemption and I fell in love with that man 1000x harder than I was before.

It is rare that I actually cry while reading (like I could probably count the times on 1 hand) and two of those times would be these two books of this duet. The crying in ALTSU was cathartic.

As dramatic as it may be, this book changed something in me and I am so happy for it!

ARC REVIEW

"A Love That Saved Us"
(The Broken & Bound Duet # 2)

by Erin Cornia

2025 had some absolutely amazing discoveries, for me, in terms of new favorite authors and new favorite books.

Erin's previous ´The Loved That Broke Us´ was one of those books, being Erin one of those authors.

I had the privilege to be an ARC reader and I remember, as if it was today, the pain I felt when I finished it. The second half of that book is so hard, so raw, so brutal.

Addiction hit like a freight train in Alley and Jensen's lives. And I was under the rails for them.

So I was expecting this book with all my open heart.
Anxious to read about all the groveling.
And delirious with the amount of love and devotion and dedication I was needing through this second chance romance.

Erin delivers it ALL.
Every single page. Every chapter.
Every one of the "no" and "yes" I heartedly said out loud.
Every smile I emotionally smiled.
Every spicy thought along the way.

This duet will stay with me. Forever.

Happy release day.

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary Management for this ARC.

---

some my favorite quotes:

"I need help. For real this time. I'm done. I'll do whatever it takes."

I had to lose her to hit rock bottom.

"You're trying to rebuild your world so that, regardless of who's in it, you can stand on your own."

"You don't want someone to make you forget, Alley. You just want the guy who broke your heart to fix it."

My eyes close, letting the sound of his voice wrap around me like the hug I desperately need.

I hold her gaze with the desperation of a man heading off to war.

I melt into him, releasing everything while his arms wrap tightly around me - like he's been waiting to catch me all along.

"You're not my weakness, Alley. You're my f*cking rock. My anchor."

"Eight billion people in this world - and I only want you."

He kisses me again, deeper this time. Like a man who's been shipwrecked and I'm dry land.

The hunger I feel for her would never end. My heart would never stop bleeding. Being without her could rip my f*cking soul in two.

I don't want a today if there's no Jensen in my tomorrow.

A Love that Saved US
By @erincornia_author
Book two in this duet- must read ALTBU first!
Book two begins with Jensen hitting rock bottom in his addiction… He’s in an unfamiliar house, trying to get a very familiar fix… He comes home to Alley gone.
She left him…
She really left…
He now has nothing, and calls the one person left, or he hopes is left- Matt.
Now off to rehab in Switzerland after detox in NYC, Jensen’s ready to change his life. He starts the extensive program to recovery, begins intensive therapy, workout regimes and diet changes.
Meanwhile, Alley has moved to Chicago and she’s numb. While friends and going out help, at night she’s left with her thoughts and missing Jensen, or the old version of the man she loves…
Jensen finishes treatment and Matt brings him back to the states. But Alley still wants a divorce. All the trauma and years of lies. But Jensen is trying… texting, slowly showing up for her… Mr. Jensen 2.0. - buff(er) and tattoos and more importantly, clean.
“It was going to be hard enough, sitting across from the man I love to sign divorce papers. But this? Tattoos. Muscles. That mouth. Clean. Clear eyes. Steady voice. That Jensen confidence I haven’t seen in so long—the same confidence that stole my heart five years ago. Jensen 2.0 showed up. And I’m supposed to stay strong?“
These two begin the steps to rebuild trust, Jensen shows up, Alley begins to trust…
They end in the sweetest happily ever after that you must see!!!!
“What we share is rare. A once-in-a-lifetime love. A love so deep it hurts.A love that’s been shaken to the core. Battered. Bruised. A love that felt too good to be true. A love that broke us. A love that saved us.”
Awe @erincornia_author it’s so beautiful, messy, raw, real- all the emotions !!!
I give this one a heartbreak 💔 and heart mending ❤️ rating ⭐️
Erin, Alley and Jensen’s story was beautiful and thank you for sharing, writing and there ending was 😍!!!
ALTSU is out now!!!!
This is a MUST READ, your kindle will thank you 😘

The continuation of Alley and Jensen’s story was perfectly written. Every emotion felt in the previous book is brought out even stronger here. How do you fight for the one thing you want most when it’s also the thing that completely broke you? Sometimes walking away is the only way to save yourself—and the memories of the good you’re leaving behind.

The way Alley’s struggle with letting go of her marriage was written was incredibly honest. She never truly let go of Jensen—how could she? He is the love of her life, and it was addiction that shattered their marriage. Her POV is felt in every possible way, and my gosh… it hurt.

Jensen broke me as a reader in the first book. He was written so beautifully, only for that amazing man to be slowly ripped away. In this book, we finally get to see him find himself again. He realizes that the only thing that ever truly mattered in his life was lost to his addiction demons. He had to lose everything to understand that truth, and going on that journey with him was heartbreaking.

Alley and Jensen each had to find themselves before they could come back together—stronger than before. This isn’t a second chance at love, because the love never left. It’s a new chapter for a love that survived pain and came out stronger than the hurt.

There's also more of the banter I loved from the first book-along with the spice. The friendships are still there, though some of them hit a little differently this time around.

You also truly feel the love from the characters who have always been there for Alley and Jensen without judgment. Matt and Leo are two found-family members that I absolutely loved throughout the story, and I really hope we get to read more about Matt in the future.

A Love That Saved Us hit me straight in the chest and never let go. This is not just a romance—it’s a raw, emotional, and deeply honest story about love, addiction, and the collateral damage left in its wake.

Erin Cornia does an incredible job of showing the reality of addiction without romanticizing it. The pain, the confusion, the hope, and the heartbreak all felt painfully real. One quote that perfectly captures the weight of this story is:

“No one ever talks about this shit. How addiction’s like a poison that seeps into every corner of the addict’s life. It stains everyone in their path. Everything they touch.”

That line alone says everything about the emotional depth of this book.

The romance is equally powerful. The chemistry is undeniable, and the tension builds beautifully—especially during the elevator scene, which was scorching hot and packed with intensity. It wasn’t just sexy; it was emotionally charged and unforgettable.

What truly stood out to me was the moment of realization. It was perfectly timed—neither rushed nor dragged out—and landed with so much impact that it completely wrecked me. Those moments felt earned, making the emotional payoff incredibly satisfying.

A Love That Saved Us is heavy, heartbreaking, and hopeful all at once. It tackles difficult themes with care, delivers intense emotional beats, and reminds us that while love can be transformative, it requires truth, growth, and accountability.

This is a powerful, unforgettable read that will stay with me for a long time. Highly recommend to readers who love emotional, real, and deeply moving romances.

ARC Review

First, I would like to thank Erin for the opportunity to read ALTSU before its December release date. Thank you so, so much for giving us Alley and Jensen's story.

A Love That Saved Us is book two in this duology and worth all of the pain I was left with after finishing A Love That Broke Us.

This entire Chicago series has been honest and emotional, but this duology is raw, real, and tender. Jensen's redemption is worth the agony you are left with at the end of ALTBU. The truth is in recovery, the cravings to mask all of your underlying emotions (pain or fitting in) don't just go away. Every day is a battle to stay clean. Jensen's strength and determination to stay clean and rebuild his relationship to Alley is inspirational.

Following Alley as she struggles to figure things out without Jensen. To lose a great love, how to move on, is it better to do so, and if not, is it safe to trust yourself enough to revisit it? How can she find in herself to trust Jensen again? That scene with the panic attack had me spiraling right along with her. Jensen's letters broke my heart. That's when you know that an author has given their all. I could feel the anxiety, the hurt, and crave the love these two have for each other. It is truly something special.

This duology deserves an infinite number of stars, and I can not wait to get a copy to add to my physical shelf.

What an incredible story of love and redemption. A Love That Saved Us put my broken heart back together. I was so happy to see Alley and Jensen finally get their HEA.

The book opens with Jensen in rehab and Alley back in Chicago, and I loved how much focus Erin put on Jensen’s commitment to getting clean—and staying clean. His journey was anything but easy, and it was so rewarding to see him healthy and truly thriving after such a rough road.

My heart especially went out to Alley. The anguish and trauma Jensen put her through didn’t just disappear because he got sober and wanted her back. While Jensen earns his redemption arc, Erin did an incredible job honoring Alley’s pain and growth. I truly believe it’s often harder for the people watching a loved one go through something traumatic than it is for the person experiencing it firsthand. Jensen doesn’t remember much of what happened because he was high, but those memories are something Alley will carry with her forever.

I was genuinely happy they got their HEA—but I also would have understood, and even accepted, if Alley had chosen to move on. Not every story has a perfect ending, and that realism made this one even more powerful.

Once again, Erin pulled every emotion out of me. She is truly a master storyteller, and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next. 💔❤️
