A beachside brunch cafe, delicious cocktails...and a dead body!
When I left the big city, I thought l'd leave my worries behind. But soon after I return to my small hometown, an ex-boyfriend is found dead. Before you ask, I didn't do it! I wasn't surprised, though. He had muddled his money with the wrong people.
Now, I'm balancing bartending, rekindling my acting career, and trying to leave my past behind. Luckily, I have an adorable and rambunctious puppy by my side to sniff out the red herrings. Romantic sunset strolls on the beach with a handsome newcomer don't hurt either.
When I start getting threatening messages from my ex-boyfriend's enemy, my life is on the rocks.
I'm mixed into a cocktail of intrigue and mystery, and I'm going to serve it straight up.

Well, I gotta go refill my coffee to get back to work on a mystery that will surprise and delight you.
I had mixed feelings on this book. The book overview sounded really interesting so I downloaded it and began reading it. As I delved into more chapters, the story became confusing as I had trouble in keeping up with the multiple characters and scene changes. I wanted to like the protagonist, but she jyst had too many issues like in being a bartender who couldn't make drinks in front of people. She should not have been a bartender to begin with. Messing up her role as an actress doing commercials, and clubbing that up. I finished the book, but I would have rather close the book and chock this one up as a quick read when you don't have anything else to do on a Saturday afternoon.
Murder and a Tequila Sunrise is the first installment of the Sunrise Cafe Cozy Mystery series written by Elizabeth Clover. This was the first time I had read anything from this author. However, I was pleasantly pleased with what I felt about the story. I rather thought the characters were more relatable. Also, the story was really well written with a plethora of interestedly placed murder clues. I also thought it was a really really funny and entertaining read, throughly enjoyed it.

Murder and a Tequila Sunrise Sunrise Cafe Cozy Mystery
ELIZABETH CLOVER
Review by Author Roy Murry
Clementine is a bartender, a commercial actor, a klutz, a terrible tequila sunrise maker, and in debt up to her eyeballs. With all these traits, she is the hero who solves murder.
But here is the twist. Despite her seemingly unrelated jobs and financial situation, Clementine has a unique skill that sets her apart- she knows people and what questions to ask them.
This mystery is confusing because of all the overdeveloped characters. What question will the reader have when trying to solve the murder? Who did it?
Yet, in the end, the reader will be rewarded for their efforts. This cozy mystery will entertain you and leave you with a sense of accomplishment as you get to know the characters for the second book in the series.
Clementine was trying real hard to conquer a fear of performing in front of people. As a beach bartender most of her job was performing while mixing fancy drinks. A commercial actor isn't any good if they can't perform in front of an audience. So now she works in a beach side restaurant and tries really hard not to break every glass she holds in front of a customer. Now she's in the middle of a murder at the Cafe and being blackmailed by a unknown loan shark! This book is full of humor and red herrings.
This is the first time I've read anything by this author and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I thought the characters were very relatable and the story was well written with alot of cleverly placed clues. I also thought it was a really funny read.

Murder and a Tequila Sunrise by Elizabeth Clover. (A Sunrise Cafe Cozy Mystery Book 1)
A nice cozy mystery story. No real surprises for this genre. I liked Clementine as a character but the plot and the red herrings for solving the crime for me are taking away from the flow of the story. Very quick easy read. It is Ok. 2 stars.
Where to start. Not sure why this just wasn’t a DNF early. Referencing people as old grandma like but also guessing their age to be “mid-thirties”. 🤷♂️ Poorly defined characters and side streams with little explanation as to why…. Mom pranks? It wasn’t good and I won’t be moving on with the series.
This is an cozy mystery novel this is book 1 in the series I very much enjoyed this book it got an enjoyable storyline great characters it is a very good book.

Entertaining story, the clues were spaced out, so it kept you guess until the end. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Murder and a Tequila Sunrise A Sunrise Cafe Mystery Book1
A cute first in a series.A clutzy bartender/ actress , a dog, a beach bar and throw in a dead former fiance and the reader has a cute cozy that can brighten her day.
This was a lighthearted murder mystery but it was hard to follow and finish. So many characters were randomly introduced it became hard to keep up with. The story itself was a little all over the place but if you need a good palate cleanse then go for it.
I enjoyed this cozy mystery. The dynamics were good, and I really enjoyed the characters. Having a puppy being rescued and then being adopted by Clementine brought a bit of fun to the story. I also liked that I did not figure out who the murderer was.
Entertaining whodunit with complex interesting quirky characters. Murder and mayhem, lots of twists and turns making this a real page turner and a must read!
