I’m not a fan of serials. I’ve tried them in the past and while I’ve enjoyed a few none stuck with me for various reasons, so I gave up on them and probably would have given a pass on Fierce Salon because of it. But when I saw that the first five episodes were bundled together I figured why not give it a go? The premise of the series revolving around a salon gave the promise of interesting characters popping up throughout peaked my interest and I’m happy I did because I really enjoyed it.

One of my issues with serials I’ve read was that due to the length of the serial I never got a true handle on the characters, but here that isn’t the case and it isn’t just because that it came in a bundle. In just the first episode (each one is marked in the bundle) I felt as if I really had a good handle on just who both Amy and Nate are and I actually really liked them.

When we meet Amy she is having the worst day on the planet. She no longer has a job and finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her (which was actually a pretty brilliant way to find out, so props to the author for coming up with it) and even though her entire world is crashing down around her she doesn’t totally lose it. She does allow herself to wallow for a bit then pulls up her big girl panties and moves forward and that’s what I really liked about her.

Then there is Nate. He may be a manwhore, but also a great guy. His manwhore status is something that he is unapologetic about and has his rules of engagement, which is something that I applaud. I mean why pretend? It may make him an ass with how he handles the women after the fact, but his rules are the rules. But when it comes to his employees and clients at the salon we get to see a different side of him. He knows how to handle a sticky situation so that neither his client or employee is ever made to feel stupid, and that is a gift that not many have.

The way that Amy and Nate’s relationship evolves definitely worked for me. There is attraction on both sides, but it’s not acted upon. I liked how we got to not only hear what they thought about each other, but more that we were shown how they affected each other and see the chemistry grow between them. It was done well and realistically without going overboard and where this box set ends was perfect even if it is a cliffhanger.

The writing is engaging and pacing is great. I enjoyed the author’s voice and thought that the first person POV’s were done really well and had no issue when another POV was introduced. The way I saw it was that since the salon is the background it was only natural that other voices/relationships would be born out of it and I didn’t feel as if it took away from Amy or Nate’s relationship in any way. This box set does end in a cliffhanger, but it is what I deem an appropriate one and has me wanting to continue with the series to see how it all plays out. As fars as the secondary characters are concerned, I enjoyed all the ones that have been introduced so far and am quite curious to see what the future has in store for all of them.

The Bottom Line: I’m still not sold on the serial thing, but as far as this box set is concerned I think that it’s a worthwhile read and I’m looking forward to keeping up with the series...as long as they are in box sets *grins.*

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 STARS for Aspen Drake!

In Fierce Salon: Season 1: Episodes 1-5, we meet a plethora of characters. There’s Amy; our leading lady, Nate; our leading man, and a slew of supporting characters that help -to round out the story.

In the beginning, Amy’s day goes from bad, to horrendous! She arrives at work to find that Ming, the owner and her mentor, has closed down the salon for good without a word of warning. To add insult to injury, she makes her way home in her beater of a car, to find her boyfriend of over two years, Shane, Skype-sexing with his ex-girlfriend Lila! Infuriated, and rightfully so, she tells him to take his stuff and get out, only to have the tables turned on her by him saying it’s his apartment, and he’d miss her when she left! So now she’s jobless, boyfriend less, and homeless, all in the matter of a few hours! This girl just cannot catch a break! Dejected, she grabs a few items of clothing, and makes her way into the friendly embrace of her best friend Gabi, who takes her in and lets her stay in her small cottage while she figures out what she’s going to do with her life.
Now we switch to Nate. I’ll admit at the beginning of this book, I thought that Nate was a complete man-whore, and king of the one-and-done! I wanted to reach into the pages of the book and strangle him for the way he used women for sex. Apparently his break-up with his girlfriend Janelle three years ago set his libido to the douche setting, and he’s been on a tear of one night stands ever since. It isn’t until we see his first interactions with customers at Fierce Salon that he starts to redeem himself in my mind. Using his easy charm, he exhibits that he is able to console and comfort his customers, and make them feel beautiful. Needing to fill an empty chair in the salon, Nate places an ad online, with strict instructions to apply by email; no calls or in person applications.
The next day, Amy is looking at the help wanted ads that she can barely access on her ancient phone. No smartphones for this girl! She comes across the ad for Fierce Salon, but without a computer, she can’t possibly follow the application directions and email her resume. Steeling her resolve, she decides to take her chances and apply in person. As luck would have it, she crosses paths with Olivia, who she used to work with at Ming’s salon, who is now working under Nate at Fierce Salon. Now, as the reader, we have already figured out that Nate’s biggest pet-peeve is people who can’t follow simple instructions, so we can’t wait to see how this plays out. With a warning from Olivia about Nate’s intense attitude, the introduction is made.
Believing that Amy is being referred by Olivia, he agrees to give her an interview. All is well until Amy lets it slip that she saw the ad online, at which point Nate promptly tries to dismiss her. In her desperation, Amy lets it slip about just losing her job under Ming, which changes Nate’s attitude. Turns out Nate has been going for coffee with Ming weekly for a while, and that Ming often praised her star apprentice to him. Could Amy be that apprentice? Why yes, yes she could. Without any further thought, Nate hires Amy as a Junior Stylist, much to the surprise of the rest of his employees, who all had to go through rigorous back checks before they were hired.
Now I don’t want to give away too much in this review, because I want YOU, YES YOU! to read the books too! There are definitely parts of this book that had me laughing out loud! So get your copy today to experience the sexual tension, the speculations, the jealousy, and the many twists and turns this story takes! As for me, I’ve already read Episodes 6 and 7 too, and am anxiously awaiting Episode 8! It can’t come soon enough!

I received this book from Love ALL Books on Facebook for free for an honest review. That in no way has changed my review or my thoughts on this book.
I just have to say that this was a really good read, I liked the idea of a straight man owning a salon - and knowing what he was doing in the salon that wasn't just "running a business" but he was very hands on, and he was great with his customers. I loved the concept of a broken down helpless girl needs a job and finds one and seeks comfort in her boss, although she denies for the longest time. I really enjoyed it, since it was the first type of book like that I have read - in a while. But once you read it a hundred times, it becomes "cliche". Anyways, the plot was good, and I have to say that the characters weren't too bad either. I was able to bond with the main character, Amy, quite a bit in certain parts of her life that you experience.

Amelia, better known as Amy in the novel is a young woman that just doesn't know how to stay out of trouble. Just kidding. Trouble loves to find her, and it's just one bad thing after another, thank god for her sexy hunky boss, Nate. I think that it's cute that all these things go wrong in her life - and that he is constantly there to try and protect her and what not. But it's almost as though Amy is a constant damsel in distress, although she doesn't mean to be. You can tell that she is hard working, although she was doped up on Benadryl she was still at work and wanting to work - and she isn't scared to tell someone when she wants things done her way... That is something that I admire deeply about her, she's an average girl who knows what she wants and how to get it. And she is the only exception to Nate's one rule...

Nate - at first I wasn't sure how to feel about him, due to the cocky "I know I'm hot" attitude and how he constantly just put someone down, for not following orders, it's true. But there are reasons sometimes people come in face to face or call because they don't have the means to follow those "simple" instructions when they don't have a computer or something. I feel as though I would have liked to know Nate a little more - I thought that getting his perspective would help me to get him, but it really didn't. I like Nate, a lot more than I thought that I would. I just personally feel as though once he started to admit that there may be something there with him and Amy - that he went a little possessive. Which isn't always a bad thing, but I do have to say that it's different, just because of the simple fact, he showed up at her house unannounced and without it being okay. He started to stalk the poor girl.

Olivia, the only reason that I feel I need to talk about Olivia, is one that she got Amy her job and two that you get to see her point of view, which is a nice touch. She is one stubborn cookie that is for sure, and I just have to say, that I really enjoyed how much willpower she really had. I feel as though Aspen put Olivia in the book to show that you can overcome anything, including smoking, if it's something you really want to do... Even if that means eating a large bag of Jolly Ranchers all the time, everyday!

This was the first novel that I've ever read by Aspen Drake - and I have to say that I really did enjoy it. I enjoyed so much of it, that after I took a nap and woke up at 10pm I had to finish it so I did, I stayed up until 1am and finished the novel. And let me just say that I was only 31% through it when I thought that I was just going to finish it really quickly. I really enjoyed it. And honestly, I cannot wait to be able to read Fierce Salon: RINSE and Fierce Salon: REPEAT. I think that this storyline has so much potential to really go somewhere, especially with the cliffhanger that this novel left off on. That is why I am dying to be able to read the following book!

description

Fierce Salon: Wash by Aspen Drake was a 4 star read. This is a grouping of the first five episodes in the series.
Romance, Hot alpha

Told in alternating POV.
Amy seems to be down on her luck, she catches her boyfriend skyping with his ex and they weren’t just talking. She is out of a job due to the business closing. Luckily her friend Olivia works for a great place and gets her an interview. This is where we meet Nate. Nate has heard how great she is and decides to hire her.
There is a strong attraction between these two but Nate has rules against dating his staff. Will he be able to abide by his rules?
Nate does however step in to help Amy when things go wrong for her, what a hero. “sigh” I really liked her strength and the fact she is outspoken.

Nate and I had a love hate relationship at times because of his cockiness. Once he started to bend his rule he seemed to get a little possessive of Amy, for instance showing up at her house unannounced and becoming stalkerish.

This was the first novel that I've ever read by Aspen Drake and really enjoyed it. Of course we end in a cliff hanger and I cannot wait to read Fierce Salon: RINSE and Fierce Salon: REPEAT.
The secondary characters added a great element to the story and I can’t wait to see more of them in Rinse and Repeat. Thank you Aspen for a great read.

***ARC Review*** Hmm. This book (compilation of serials) is/are very captivating. I finished Fierce Salon: Season 1 in a day. It's light reading, entertaining, and the characters are good fun. I bought the next set in the series, and I'm hoping they will prove to be just as worthwhile.

A couple things to note - 1. I like the serial style, and I think the change in narration from one episode to the next is refreshing. It allows for a more complete view of the story. However, the chapters Olivia narrated, considering that she is not central to the novel, seem completely out of place. They were a bit distracting.

2. The story is very Christian/Anastasia. A moody and brooding guy meets a mousy, clumsy damsel in distress. That seems relatively typical in this genre. Aspen Drake has some decent writing chops. I would love it if she strove for better and branched out a bit more.

Overall, this is pretty good. It's just right in every way; not too trashy, not too descriptive, and not too cheesy. The author knows how to be sexy without making it over-the-top in a comical way. I definitely recommend this book.

Audiobook

Narration - Stephanie Wyles and Chris Chambers - They did a really good job of narration. Both have nice voices to listen to and read at a good easy pace.

Gah! This Story! It took all the way til the end for our H&h to finally get together and then it ends on a cliffy!
There are multiple POV's so it doesn't just go back and forth between Amy and Nate. I got confused on one chapter when all the sudden it was (I think) Olivia's POV. So there's more than just the story of Nate and Amy, although, I'm not sure why the other story line is in there. I'm assuming there will be more of that developed in the next Season.

Through this story, Amy and Nate are both interested in the other, but Nate doesn't date his employees and Amy thinks Nate hates her. There's plenty of sexual tension throughout. I'm completely sucked in, so I definitely want to read the next season now.

Quick, sexy little listen!

Wash

This is an interesting way to write a book. It involves many characters, many POV’s and no HEA. If the second part wasn’t out, I’d probably skip reading it because I’m not a fan of cliffhanger type endings.

Fierce Salon was reviewed by both Jess and Iva from Reading Write Now.

Iva rated it 3.2 & Jess rated it 3 = Reading Write Now rating of 3.1

Iva's Review:

Fierce Salon: Wash by Aspen Drake is five episodes that are grouped together in one book, that is almost 300 pages long. There are several episodes to follow, so beware that it does end with a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed reading the book, the author has some new slants on old ideas and a few new ones, but while the book was very easy to read, it was also easy to forget. The story is there and the author is able to get the words to flow, but I didn’t feel a connection with either of the two protagonists.

Amy remained just words to me, which was emphasised by the fact it was written in first person. I never felt the emotions she was telling me she felt. I think, because her feelings to situations were explained rather than conveyed, it really put a barrier up between the character and me as the reader.

Nate was like two different people. I could not see how someone who hooked up with women and dumped them regardless of their feelings could also be a consoling, patient and empathetic hairdresser. It felt like two extremes. Having the book broken up into episodes was damaging to the story and the characters. Several times I felt as though the protagonists’ feelings were dismissed too quickly in order to get to the next plot point and I think this is why they remained just names, rather than a person I could feel empathy for.

Being a serial was also to the detriment of the author’s talent because the story is there, but it feels broken and each new episode presented an opportunity to stop reading rather than presenting a need to keep reading. I feel there needs to be some work done on character development for this story to become more memorable, and that a different format would help allow this to happen.

Would I purposely continue with this series? No. I need the connection with the characters and there are too many other books wanting to be read, but I wouldn’t go out of my way not to read it either.

I believe Aspen Drake does have the potential to be a bestselling author, however a serial is not the right format to showcase this. It's a 3.2 read for me.

Jess' Review:

In this installment of episodes we meet Amelia (Amy), Nate, Olivia, Gabi, Mason and a small cast of thousands. Amy has had a shithouse day, you cant help but feel for the girl, but as luck would have it she is not down on hers for too long.

Amy ends up at Fierce Salon looking for work. Enter Nate – hot broody ex model and self confessed manwhore. Nate doesn't dip his wick with his employees, but pretty much everyone else if fair game. Nate finds himself attracted to Amy, and as their relationship develops, things start to change. Does this relationship run smooth – hell no.. but you will have to read to find out where the pot holes lie.

Now where to start with my thoughts…. This story was an easy read, but I was pretty underwhelmed. Essentially, the story was built on the instalust between Amy and Nate, but I struggled to believe even the lust aspect of the relationship. This may have directly been affected by the story being written as a serial, which really didn’t allow for much character development.

Nate was a dichotomy – he was represented as a manwhore, a bang and flick kind of guy, but then he was a compassionate and nurturing business owner. The two elements did not sit well with me so rather than them being two sides to a personality, it almost appeared that it was two separate characters.

Amy was a woman whose world as she knew it had collapsed, she should have been at rock bottom. Now while she was resilient and this is a trait I admire, I felt no emotional connection to her experience. She was meant to be vulnerable, with Nate having to save her, but at no point did I sense a real vulnerability with her.

The plot was a bit all over the shop (without going into too much detail in case you decide to take a chance), it seems like the flow was like the energizer bunny, hoping around in all different directions and just going and going…. The secondary characters, interestingly, seemed to have more depth than the leads – but their story seemed to be weaved into an episode on a random tangent that had me asking ‘what was the point of that?’ I am sure it would become clearer as the story goes…

Now I don’t want to be completely harsh, Fierce has some fun moments, it’s a light read, and it has potential. I can see the characters start to build and they too have potential – I am just not 100% sure that a serial format will allow their growth to ever be realised.

I would rate Fierce Salon – Wash as a 3. Its not bad, but I was left wanting… and not in a great way!

Amy hasn't had the most luck in life so when she arrives at work on Monday morning she is shocked to learn that her boss is no longer using the premises. When she learns that her boss has up and left, she has no idea what to do. So in light of everything that has currently started her Monday morning she goes home hoping to surprise her boyfriend but the last thing that she was expecting was to walk in on her boyfriend having skype sex with his ex girlfriend. She gets her senses together and packs up some of her clothes and rings her best friend Gabrielle, after laying out what's happened her friend says that she can stop at her place for as long as she needs to.

The next morning after waking up she checks on a job site to see if she can get another job at a hair salon. To her surprise Fierce Salon is hiring, and luckily for her it's just near her old place of work. She heads on over there to see if she can apply within store as she currently doesn't have her own laptop and can't exactly email over her CV. However the last thing that she was expecting was to run into Olivia who used to work with her back at the other salon, and after talking to her, Oliver promises she will try and put in a good word with her boss.

At first Olivia's boss Nate seems really ignorant, but after explaining that she used to work for a friend of his, he lets his guard down and automatically gives her the job. Everyone in the salon is shocked at what just happened as to them Nate has never been like that with anyone. Over the next few weeks everyone is starting to notice the way that Nate looks at Amy, but she keeps denying it to everyone who mentions it to her.

What will happen when a guy is interested in Amy, how will she react considering she has sworn off guys for a good while. Also what will happen when Nate steps in to help her when her ex boyfriend tries to get her to come back home. Will there be sparks flying between Amy and Nate, the only way to find out any of this is to pick it up and read it. As soon as you start reading this series you will be hooked in, as I was reading it I could relate to Amy, and honestly couldn't put the book down until I had got to the end. You won't be disappointed, and you won't want to miss anything.

I had never read any of Aspen’s books and this series is written in a unique fashion instead of chapters there are episodes. The premise of the story is about employees at a well known hair salon and their relationships.
The main story line centers on Amy and Nate. Amy is a down on her luck cosmetologist. Down on her luck is putting it mildly, since she goes to work and finds a sign that states “Fabulous Hair is out of business.” She goes home and finds her boyfriend having Skype sex with his ex-girlfriend. Amy is out of a job, boyfriend and a place to live.
Her luck begins to change when she applies for a position at Fierce Salon, where her friend Olivia works. Nate is a drool worthy former model turned stylist who owns the very successful salon. Nate knew Amy’s former employer and had heard of her talent and with Olivia’s referral, he hires Amy. They are attracted to one another but Nate has a strict rule of not dating his employees. With this rule in place and Amy trying to obtain financial stability, they try to ignore their mutual attraction.
A secondary story line deals with Olivia. Olivia is a chain smoking stylist with a “no filter mouth” and Greg (handsome with a dimple, what more could you ask for? Oh yeah he is big shot at Google) her client. He has asked her out on numerous occasions and she always declines. Why you might ask? Greg’s father died of cancer and smoking is a habit that Olivia cannot break. She is tricked into accepting a date and she has four days to quit smoking. Can she do it?
Episode Five leaves us in a cliff hanger when Nate and Amy finally act on their feelings as does Olivia and Greg. Where will it lead for these couples? Some obstacles are hard to overcome. We will have to wait and see. For me, I can’t wait for the next episodes!!

***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME BY THE AUTHOR IN RETURN FOR AN
HONEST REVIEW*****

I must say I saw this out come from chapter one. Now Bear in mind this is a seriall with cliffhangers and what I was given was episodes one through five or season one. Nate is an Ex model man whore. He screws women and moves on. His is from a wealthy family,he is also the black sheep. Nate owns a hair salon called Fierce Salon. He is an arrogant person.

Amy is a hairstylist/ cosmetician from a salon around the corner from Nate's business. Amy shows up for work to find her salon has closed its doors and gone out of business. Amy then goes home to find her live in boyfriend having Skype sex with hi ex. She leaves him and stays with her friend gabi.
She see an ad on Craigs list for a stylist.
Now remember I said Nate was arrogant, oh yeah and a prick. He Will not give anyone an interview who does not follow the rules of the ad which states no in person interviews and no mailed resumes. Everything to be done by email.
So when Amy shows up and he finds out that she saw the ad but did not follow the rules he was not about to give her the job or the time of day until he found out that she was the protégé that her old boss ,Ming, had told him about.
So Nate hires her and just continues Amy's series of misfortunate events.

I could see from the start something would happen between Amy and Nate.. But there also seems to be something going on with Olivia and Greg .. I'll have to read the next season to find out. So yes this has piqued my interest enough to see what happens next..
To me that is the definition of a good read. When a book makes you want to go back for more!

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**Amy is having a bad day. When she went to work, she found out the hair salon she worked for was closed down. When she went home from that, she found her boyfriend cyber-cheating on her. When she leave him, she also becomes homeless. Luckily her friend lets her crash on her couch. She sees a job opening at Fierce Salon, a high-end hair salon. The owner, Nate Edwards, is a hawt ex-model whose a player but a stickler for the rules when it comes to his salon and employees. When he sees Amy though, there's something about her that has him regretting some of his rules.  First, I'm not really sure what made me decide to read and review this book. It's not one I'd normally try. However, once I started it, I couldn't stop until I was finished. While it was made up of 5 novellas, it read rather quickly. There's just something about it I really liked.Amy is my favorite character. Even when life is basically kicking her in the face, she moves on and tries to keep a good attitude. Overall she's strong and no pushover who believes in her work. I'm not so sure about Nate, while he treats women like a piece of meat until Amy, I couldn't help feel sorry for him and the way his parents treat him much in the same manner. I like seeing his feelings for Amy start to break his patterns and rules.Overall I just really liked this story and look forward to reading the next segment. There was no real conflicts, but the plot kept moving so there didn't really need to be as we got to learn the characters. I would highly recommend it.

You will never be able to visit your hair salon again without thinking of Amy & Nate's passion for each other!

This serialized novel is well written and flows beautifully as the characters have great depth to them.
Not only does the Author bring Amy & Nate to life with a desire for each other in their writing, she also gives the proper characterization too as glimpses of each character that works at Fierce all connect together.

Amy seems to have terrible luck when it comes to people always letting her down.
First the hair stylist she works for, and then her current boyfriend that she's living with both change the game of life for her.
Resulting in needing to find a new job quickly and relying on a friend to live with for awhile.

Her luck turns around when she stumbles upon an ad for, Fierce Salon.
Not only does she take her dream job, she also attracts the attention of the owner himself, Nate, an ex-model with a dreamy body and seductive eyes. He knows he shouldn't keep glancing over Amy's way while she works, but he can't help himself. She's off limits....until....he can't stop himself.
Nate turns all alpha male and becomes obsessively protective over Amy. I can't wait to see what's next for them in the next book!

Nate's employee, Olivia is also introduced in the book. She's fun, spirited, and I can't wait to read more of her story in the next book too!

FIVE STARS

This story, well, in one word, ROCKED.
I loved it. It was awesome, and my only complaint? It finished too soon. Lol.
The backdrop of the story is a salon ran by an ex-model and manwhore Nate. Amy is a new stylist at Fierce Salon.
I loved the way the novel was split into episodes, and it did feel like a TV show kind of serial, but tbh, I don't think I could cope if I had to wait to know what happened. Haha. As it is, the ending is going to drive me crazy! In the. Best. Possible. Way!
Nate could come across as a bit of a dick, but weirdly enough, he suits it, and it didn't make me dislike him. AT ALL. He was sweet in his own way, and how he handled Amy was just charming. As a heroine, Amy wasn't irritating or coy, she was fun, down to earth.
My favourite bit was when Amy accidentally grabbed a hold of Little Nate when she almost fell over. LMAO, that was hilarious!
The story was a definite Laugh Out Loud read but it had that soap opera feel to it. The sections in the salon felt realistic, and it was a great, unusual, and quirky backdrop.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and can't wait for season two! RECOMMENDED!

A light enjoyable read that I just couldn’t put down. This is not my usual reading fare, as I tend to avoid serial type books because I hate being teased and left with cliffhangers, but I decided to give this a go and am very happy I did. Amy, the female MC, is confident, sassy, quirky, sometimes awkward, and an all-around lovable character. She makes the best of whatever situation she’s in and she drew me in from the start. Nate, the male MC, is a quiet confident playboy that knows what he wants and what he doesn’t. Then he meets Amy and doesn’t know what to do with the enigma of her and the feelings she creates in him. Told in episodes with alternating POVs, the story between the two was a delight to experience - but, be warned, it does end in a cliffhanger that will have you rushing to by the next set of episodes. There are also a few snippets about Olivia and Greg that felt like a tease and just left me wishing for more to their story. I hope to read more about them in upcoming episodes. There a host of other characters introduced here that I expect, and hope, we’ll get to learn more about in future episodes, but its Amy and Nate that take the spotlight and have me eagerly wanting more. 3.5 stars **I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Whether you’re a fan of serials or not, you definitely should give Fierce Salon Wash a chance. I was skeptical at first, from being burned by serials in the past but always optimistic I gave it a chance. The characters are engaging and fun. The novel is well written, the chemistry between the love interests sizzling. The first couple we get to know is Nate and Amy. Amy has one of those Murphy’s law days where everything that can go wrong does. In the end she ends up working for Nate, a former model and salon owner. He’s broody and a manwhore to the core. Their story might be a little clichéd but Drake expertly crafts the tale in a way that it doesn’t feel old or tired. Towards the end, we begin to get to know another couple Olivia and Greg. Olivia also works for Nate is a chain smoking, loud mouth. Greg is her client that she keeps saying no to. And like with Nate and Amy, their chemistry is hot but their story was just starting.

Keep in mind this is a serial though and does end in a cliffhanger. I’m looking forward to continuing to read about the gang at the Fierce Salon. It was a fun, easy read. Definitely worth picking up if you need to help you escape the real world for a little while.

Fierce Salon Wash by Aspen Drake
This book was given to me as an ARC for an honest review.
I have to let the readers know that this is a cliffhanger ending. If cliffys aren’t your thing, then I would highly recommend, thinking twice before getting this book.
I totally loved this book. It was funny, entertaining, and the heat and chemistry between Amy and Nate was through the roof.
This was a fast easy read. I buzzed through this book in no time. I was really entertained by this story and enjoyed getting to know Amy and Nate and their world that they live in.
I liked how the author divided the book into sections, and each section was its own little vignette. I don’t see that very often and it was an appealing format for me.
Amy was very sweet. She has some backstory to her, and as the reader gets to know her, she is even more likable.
Nate is a player, a man whore, someone who’s used to being used for who he is and what he has, and so trusts no one and not even himself. His life is lonely. However he does great hair and has a way with people, customers as well as his staff, that lets the reader know that he’s more then what he seems.
I highly recommend getting this book. Really really.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I want to know now.

This was the first book by Aspen Drake that I have read and I was not disappointed! This was a story where I knew how it was going to end within the first few chapters but the journey was a mystery. BOY WAS THAT JOURNEY HOOOOTTT! This is a book written from three different point of views, filled with tons of emotions and there nothing better than that. Amy goes from having it all, or at least she thought, until one morning her whole world is flipped upside down and flush down the toilet. Amy's character was invigorating. Amy wasn't the typical damsel in distress but a strong independent young woman who figures she doesn't need a man to be happy, to hell with them... or so she thought. A drool worthy model oozing sex is a little hard to ignore so I can't blame Amy for having a weak spot. Nate is an ex- model whose had his own problems with the opposite sex and is afraid of commitment but something about Amy has him second guessing his way of life and thinking. This is a less *$@ked up 50 Shades yet equally as blush worthy, if you need a pick me up this book is definitely for you! I can't wait to read book 2 and 3!!

I received an ARC from Love ALL Books on Facebook for an honest review.

Honestly, I did not have high hopes for this book series. I have never read an episode formatted book and I am not much into the serial books. Surprisingly, this book flowed well and held my attention quite well. I feel that the book was very in-depth for the development of the character of Amy but Nate is still very closed personally. I really hope that his character opens up more in the upcoming book. You will Anticipate what will happen next because of the consistency of drama in the personal lives of Amy and Nate.

I am not a fan of Olivia's storyline so far but hopefully there will be more of a point for it soon. I was really confused when the entire book is back and forth between Amy and Nate's point of view and then Olivia's point of view is thrown into the mix. The sexual scenes are not quite detailed but they seem to work for the book.

The cliff hanger ending is one to be enjoyed. The dream sequences really leave you wondering what just happened. Was that a dream or for real??? You will have to read the book to find out.

I received a copy of this series in return for my honest review.

Overall I was very please with this book. Drake is a new author to me and I was slightly apprehensive since the main setting to the book is in a beauty shop. I was really unsure as to where the plot would go. I was pleasantly surprised.

In this book you meet a very interesting cast. The main male characters is a wealthy ex model who owns his own beauty shop. He is very un-trusting and has the rep of being a play boy. The main female character can't catch a break. If her cheating ex is not bad enough.. her car breaks down, a man she is not interested in is head over heals for her, and her boss might be bi-polar. The book follows their daily life over a short time span.

It is defiantly a cliff hanger. You are left with very few answers and the story in the end is only really just getting set up. I do believe that the plot had a lot of potential and I am really looking forward to reading the next books to see where Drake plans to take it.

Thank you for a nice read. Can't wait to read more in the Fierce Salon Series.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that I’m so glad I got to read this serial in one go because if I’d had to read it real time I would’ve been going crazy with the cliff-hanger endings of each instalment.

Fierce Salon is the ‘it’ place to get your hair done and is run by the enigmatic bad boy player ex-model Nate Edwards. The story centres around the will they/won’t they relationship between Nate and his newest employee Amy Collins. There is also a full cast of colourful characters in the background of Amy’s fellow stylists, customers, family & significant others. It reminded me of the book version of a TV soap! The story is told from multiple POVs.

I don’t want to say too much here for fear of giving too much away. I cringed, laughed out loud, ranted and sappy grinned at my kindle whilst reading this book.

If you’re looking for a couple of hours of escapism then I thoroughly recommend this engaging well written read. I can’t wait to read Season Two.

'Fierce Salon Season One' was a great read! 5 stars for sure!! I was a little hesitant about it being written as episodes. I have never read a book/series written in such a way and was worried that it would either be too short or seem to short. I am happy to report that I was absolutely wrong!!! Although I did read it in one day, it didn't seem like it was too short.

I loved the characters of the story (Amy, Nate, Olivia, Greg, etc.) and the change of the point of views between each chapter. I loved how easily it was to picture the story - as if I was watching a TV show sitcom. I enjoyed the buildup to Nate and Amy's romance, that it was always simmering just below the surface, but not completely acknowledged (at least by Nate and Amy) right away. I also liked that part way through Season One, you got to read Olivia's point of view. It added just another element to the story.

The story ends on a cliff hanger, but it only makes me that much more eager to read the next two seasons!! Cannot wait to read more from Aspen Drake!!!

This was a great read!!

Amy the leading lady starts her day off bad then just goes horrendous. She goes to work to find out her salon has gone out of business and then goes to get some creamy sticks to surprise her boyfriend come to find out her boyfriend has a surprise for her with his ex. She goes in to apply for a job at Fierce Salon and runs into her friend Olivia that helps her get a job.

Nate the leading man is the owner of Fierce Salon and only wants the best stylists that can follow directions when he starts to talk with Amy and finds out she did not follow instructions via his ad he tells her he only wants stylists who can follow directions she immediately explains her situation and he ends up giving her a job.

Amy and Nate's chemistry starts to develop and Amy feels she is not good enough for Nate. Nate sees Amy inside and out and can not deny the chemistry and protectiveness he feels for her he starts changing for her and wants to win Amy over but he does not date employees. Their story starts to come together and at then end they can not hold back from each other.

I received this book from Love all books

Season books is def not my things, but I really like this story and the characters. I spend I good time on this book Amy Nate Olivia and Greg they're my favorite and the British bitch gosh sorry but I hate this snob fake girl.

Amy's ex boyfriend disgust me, losing a god girl for Skype video sex really. Amy is better than that she deserve a good guy she's strong and stand for her life and doesn't give up.

Nate is a manwhore haha but he'a kinda cute sometime even if he's stupid on Amy. I laughed a lot when he thought she was a stalker but after that it was him the stalker

They were playing hide and see with my emotion i swear sometimes i was so pissed at them you like each other but you're playing dumb. And there always is a bitch in that kind of story I was so angry if I could I write my name in that book to beat that fake girl sorry not sorry.

I was the first book I read from Aspen and I thought about the other season can't wait to read them all

Amy is having a very bad day. When she gets to work, she finds out that the salon was closed down with no warning. Then when she gets home, she catches her boyfriend cyber cheating with his ex. She believes she's hit rock bottom, when she gets a job at Fierce Salon. Nate Edwards is an ex model who's now the super sexy owner of Fierce Salon. He's a player everywhere but at his business. A big problem starts when he can't seem to get his new stylist out of his head. She, too, feels a connection to the manwhore, and thus an entertaining journey begins. This serial has easily hooked me from the beginning, and keeping my attention cover to cover. I absolutely love the cast of characters, and the well written storyline flows smoothly. Aspen Drake has an easy writing style that addictive, and I cannot wait to read the rest!

**I was given a free copy of this audiobook book in exchange for an honest review**

This book had me hooked from the first chapter! I love books that have great character development, where you feel like you actually know the characters and they could be part of your group. This serial gave me that. From the very start, I felt like I was going into the salon and knew each person. The interaction between Nate and Amy, Olivia and Greg, Carly, Mason, Frankie...loved the whole thing. The narration of this book was well done, each having their own voice, and being able to tell them apart. The differences in the points of view also added a lot of depth.

This is highly recommended and I can't wait for season 2 to be released.

Wow, what a crappy day! Amy shows up to work only to find out the salon she's been at for the last few months is now closed unexpectedly. But hang on the day gets worse. She is able to land a job at the city's sexiest salon. When I say sexy I mean the owner, Nate
Nate is a former model, wealthy owner of Fierce Salon. He has a code that forbids him to date employees. But! Will he be able to resist Amy? There is instant chemistry between our leading lady and sext Nate! They try to ignore it.....
There are other interesting characters that we meet which means more interesting story lines.
I am new to this author and am excited to add her to my top author list!
Can't wait to read more!!

This was my first Aspen Drake book; it's a quick read and kept my interest. I liked the point of view changes; we were able to have more insight from each character. Amy Collins, one of the main characters, is down on her luck; everything that could go wrong in her life does. Once she lands a new job at Fierce Salon, she hopes the new start will end the drama. Nate Edwards, the owner of Fierce, is a retired model who loves a good one nighter. Once he hires Amy, he's drawn to her and wishes he could stop thinking of her. He'd love nothing more than to forget about his rule about getting involved with employees. I'm looking forward to reading season two.
