Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..
Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.
Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.
Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).

Maddie and Jack... Maddie's father built a security business, devoting himself to it... Maddie stepped into her father's shoes... and while protecting teenager Dawn Winston, Dawn gives her sleeping pills in a drink, sneaks out, and is kidnapped by oober bad guy Oliver Reynard - who has been nursing a grudge against Dawn's father...
Oliver rules over his on personal island, and evil fantasy island called Orchard Island in the Carribean - he encourage sexual fantasies, and has cameras set up all over to observe... he has a small army/guards to punish those he deems require it... and he is keeping Dawn in the Black Tower...
Maddie has asked Jack, of another security team, to help her out... since they met 3 years earlier both have foster fantasies about the other, but not acted on them - trying to keep business and pleasure separate... and Jack doesn not want Maddie to go to the island with him, and thinks to scare her away by requiring they have sex before they leave - he thinks she will refuse, and when she doesn't they have sex - it starts out impersonal but quickly moves to hot and glorious... but then he acts cold toward her again...
they go to the island, Jack undercover as a potential drug sort of dealer and Maddie as his girlfriend and Reynard decides he wants sex with Maddie... Jack walks a line of saying no without offending reynard... with the help of one of the servants on the island they locate Dawn... During their 3 nights there, they have sex - in the shower, so that they can talk and not be overheard... at night, to ally any concerns... and then Maddie is given a sex drug, and Jack eases her, and loves her until the effects of the drug wear off - and then they send the signal, rescue Dawn, are intercepted by Reynard & Jack kills him & a few guards... and they make it home...
Dawn's father gives them a million dollars for the risk they took, and though Maddie fully expects Jack to walk away, he takes her in his arms, and they both tentatively share their true feelings... and agree to marry... and be a family .... ahhhhh
