Oak Point #2

Show Me You Remember

Rate this book
A new small town romance from Amazon bestselling author, Hannah Cowan!

Rowe

I’d convinced myself she was never coming back. Not after I destroyed my life defending her and was left to live alone in the fallout.

I made my peace with that years ago, when I learned Tilly Whittman was gone for good. Yet here she is, standing in my barn again and brushing down my horses like the last decade of silence never happened.

I shouldn’t care that she’s here, or be thinking about what she’d written to me in that final letter. But every time she opens her mouth, it’s like she’s trying to pick a fight with the version of me that went to prison for something I’d do again in a heartbeat.

She’s here on my land with her boots planted, chin high, and curved nails picking at old wounds like she’s trying to see if I’ll bleed.

And I will. I always did when it came to my best friend’s sister.

Tilly

I swore I was done with Oak Point.

But when my life falls apart for the second time, I crawl back to the only place that might still want me. My home. The place I lost myself.

Now I’m grooming horses at Painted Sky and trying not to rip the head off the man who’s been pretending I don’t exist since the day I showed up. Rowe Carrigan. The cowboy who went to prison and came out angrier than the broncs he rides.

We were never together. Not really. Yet what happened between us left a scar I can’t seem to stop touching.

He thinks I’m trouble and he’s right.

Because the longer I stay, the harder it is to ignore the weight of the past, or how badly I still want the one man I was never supposed to have.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
SPICE: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved these two messy babies with my whole heart. There was just something about Rowe and Tilly that spoke to my soul. I couldn’t, put this book down.

As always I am the biggest sucker for a second chance, and a second chance and some huge emotional trauma from the past. Sign me up. I loved the push and pull between these two, the fact that they both were a little possessive Nd the fact that they pushed each other’s buttons so thoroughly.

Let me just say that Tilly might be my favorite Hannah FMC. She’s brash, she’s bold and she’s unapologetically herself which makes me adore her. I feel like she and Rowe were truly a perfect match.

I loved the dual timeline aspect, the fact that this man was a cowboy through and through and I loved seeing them both come into their own around the ranch. I loved seeing this series and I can’t wait for more!

I’ve had this book written down on my calendar for so long, and I couldn’t wait another day to read it. I’m trying to figure out how to write this review without spoiling the book. But let me just tell you I would get down on my knees for this man too. GOD DAMN 😩😜💕 honestly I loved every minute of this book I may have shared a few tears, but then again I am an emotional sap. But I knew before I even opened this book that I was gonna love it. And it absolutely did not disappoint. I feel like five stars is not enough for this book.

can’t decide if i loved this or hated it tbh. i did read it all in one sitting as per usual with this author i usually love her books buuuuut 🤷🏽‍♀️

best friends brother
friends x enemies (?) x lovers
second chance (kinda)
small town
forced proximity (she’s working on his ranch)

Tilly is back in town after a decade thanks to a divorce. She left over 10 years ago when Rowe went to prison and broke her heart. They had been friends growing up and when she was 16 (i think) she realized she had a crush on him. She could never tell if it was reciprocated and spent literal years trying to make him jealous. When they were 21 something happened and Rowe ends up in prison and everyone blames Tilly. She finally confesses her feelings in a letter to him and he shuts it down. Broken hearted she packed up and moved across the country where she got married and spent the next years of her life.

What got me irritated with this is when she returns how they act like literal children. At 33 you’d think they’d be able to have a conversation regarding their past and move on but NOPE!! It DRAGGED. Every time they would broach the subject it would just get dropped. COMMUNICATION HELLO!?!?!?!

Next thing we know she’s on her knees for him on the side of the road and then he ghosts her for two days like get real

Once they finally got over themselves it was fine until he tells her he’s all in and all of a sudden she’s not sure what she wants 🙄🙄🙄 there’s no third act or anything but it still pmo

AND fuck her mom for not giving her his last letter ‼️‼️‼️

i wish we had more info on his past too. we know nothing of how many people he was with, either in the past or in the years since he was released from prison. all we get from her friend is she “doesn’t think he’s gone home with anyone in years”
she was with a few men (at least 2 lol) and then was married but i like to know these things especially in a 2nd chance type book 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Hannah Cowan always delivers when it comes to real and emotional romance books and this was no exception!

Rowe and Tilly were made for one another! Tilly is our sassy and confident FMC who isn’t afraid to push back. Rowe is our tough, ex con bronc rider MMC who has such a soft spot when it comes to Tilly. The two of them mesh so well and I couldn’t stop reading their story! The tension between the two could be felt through the page and I was obsessed with the “I hate you but I actually don’t” vibes. And of course as always, Hannah’s spicy scenes were HOT AF!!!!

I was lucky enough to get to read these 2 early and oh. My. GOD. Hannah has outdone herself, Rowe and Tilly are truly my favourite couple she's ever written. We love two broken people leaning on each other for healing. Getting their second chance at love? Tilly's dedication to short-shorts and sassy t-shirts? Rowe's tough-as-nails exterior that hides a secret cinnamon roll under that rib cage?! PLEASE.

These two had me crying, laughing, panting, sweating, you name it. Get these 2 into your eyeballs IMMEDIATELY!

4.5⭐️ for Show Me You Remember by Hannah Cowan

I ATE this one up it was so good! Hannah Cowan has quicky become one of my favorite authors, I'm simply obsessed with her MMCs and Rowe is no exception. The man is fiiiiiiiiiine.

I'd never read an ex-con romance before, but since it was Hannah I knew it would be good, and boy did she deliver. The reason he's an ex-con? Ugh my poor heart, it broke into pieces for these two, but their slow burn reunion glued it back together.

Tilly was such an amazing FMC, the way she's tough and no-nonense, but also deals with depression made her such a well-rounded character, and I loved her temper, especially because it comes out in defense of her loved ones. I loved how this independent girlie let her guard down to let Rowe take care of her in a vulnerable moment, as I always have a soft spot for moments like these.

In true Hannah fashion, the spice was hot, like fan myself hot, and the banter between these two was *chef's kiss*. I honestly don't know anymore if Shade and Millie are my favorites still or of Rowe and Tilly have dethroned them, and I'm so excited for Ash and Lacey's story next!

Thank you to Hannah Cowan for a copy in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

Dark Past / Forced Proximity / Second Chance / A Hot Ass Cowboy….Need I Say More

Firstly, thank you to Hannah Cowan and team for gifting me this ARC. Now to the review:

As soon as Hannah had posted the tropes for this book I was hooked. The dark past, tattooed and hardened cowboy is a trope I’ve wanted to read for a while but never have. This book was fantastic. The pacing was well done. The secret reason for his jail time was kept for the right amount of time. The only flashback used were well timed and purposeful. And then the tension, PHEW you could feel it off the page. I loved Tilly and Rowe. I really appreciate Hannah Cowan writing a story of imperfections and how those imperfections can still lead to a beautiful life. Rowe’s been dealt a crappy start to life. He’s family is not perfect, he’s not perfect and doesn’t try to even compare to others. He is comfortable acknowledging his mistakes and owns who he is and what he’s done. Tilly has gone through so much herself, but she recognizes that and is working on it. At the same time she is a BADASS, takes no bullshit kinda lady and I wish I can be her when I grow up.

PS the first chapter ABSOLUTELY captures you and you don’t be able to put the book down, BE WARNED!

Show Me You Remember, book 2 of the Oak Point small town romance series, is such a rollercoaster of Tilly serving Beth in Yellowstone energy, tense enemies to lovers, & an emotional second chance romance! My first read of 2026 truly knocked it out of the park!! Tilly & Rowe’s story is one of the best I’ve read in a long while & I truly don’t know what would top it.

Rowe is Tilly’s twin-brother’s best friends, and one of her closest friends growing up. After over a decade of space, silence, and Rowe’s pesky assault charge, Tilly is back in Oak Point, freshly divorced, and fully in her mid-life what-the-heck-am-I-doing mid-life crisis. The pair reunite at the rodeo of all places, cause not only is our hot-as-sin MMC an ex-con cowboy, but he’s also the best bronc rider in the county .. and he’s less than pleased about their reunification.

Gosh there are just so many layers to this story!! I love the flashbacks to their youth, and their tight knit friend group, and the flashes of the characters I’ve come to love from book one!! As far as all brothers best friend tropes go, Ash is such a softy, and I love that he’s not the all macho don’t-touch-my-sister type, deep down he’s rooting just as hard as we are! Speaking of, it’s all thanks to Ash that Tilly finds herself back working for Rowe’s family ranch and living there too, and the close proximity is the last thing the pair want. With more than a decade of time and miscommunication between them, they’re constantly at each other’s throats, and that enemies to lovers tension is just waiting to boil over. But will they survive the time that’s been put in between them, and the years worth of emotional baggage?

Thanks to Hannah for an advanced readers copy of this read, in exchange for my honest review.

tropes: brothers best friend • ex-con • grumpy x grumpy • cowboy • forced prox • “want to” hate to lovers

The thing about Hannah’s writing is it’s raw and real! She doesn’t lean heavily into tropes and aesthetics as plot pushers but writes simply true stories with depth and character complexities. Her characters might be grumpy but they’re also not drowning in that classification.

Rowe and Tilly are hurt, broken, and searching. Because of others, each other, and miscommunication. And this book just simply follows them. To the point, emotional, and captivating.

Rowe and Tilly feel like the same person. In such a good way and they compliment each other so well! Another thing I absolutely loved about this book was the spice! Lately I’ve been a spice skimmer, just get me back to the story. But the spice in this book was meaningful and had powerful, emotional thoughts and character development during it. And it was goooooood. Like good good 🤭

There’s next to nothing I would change about this book! I absolutely recommend Rowe and Tilly’s story if you’re wanting something that hurts and heals and pulls away all the fluff!

Thank you Hannah for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story carried a quiet kind of heartbreak.

Show Me You Remember is a childhood friends to strangers to lovers romance layered with history, hurt, and unresolved feelings. Rowe and Tilly felt like two sides of the same coin, both stubborn, blunt, and deeply impacted by the choices made when they were young.

Rowe is an ex-con cowboy with a lot of anger simmering beneath the surface, especially where Tilly is concerned. That tension was palpable, and watching him slowly soften for her made the emotional payoff worth it.
Tilly presents as tough and guarded, but underneath that exterior is someone who’s been deeply hurt … by Rowe, by past relationships, and by decisions that altered the course of her life. Her vulnerability felt honest and earned.

One of my favorite elements of the story was the inclusion of the letters written during the first months of Rowe’s time in prison. They gave us insight into their connection and slowly revealed the moment that broke Tilly’s heart … a turning point that changed both of their lives. That buildup added so much weight to their story.

A solid, angsty read with emotional depth and a strong sense of longing.

Ohhhh how I loved Tilly and Rowe. If you love Rip and Beth vibes from the show "Yellowstone", then you must RUN and grab this book. Rowe is Rip- just make him straight out of prison, covered in tattoos, protective of his people to a fault, and tough on the outside while being absolute mush for his horses and Tilly Whittman. *SWOON*

"𝘔𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘥, 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘰𝘰. 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘤𝘢𝘵?"

And good gosh I loved Tilly just as much! She is strong, sassy, loves an inappropriate cropped tee, can hang with the ranch boys. She also is home after a brutal divorce and trying to figure out what she really wants from life.

"𝘞𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘰𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘻𝘺 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵."

Hannah Cowan always writes characters and banter that suck me in and don't let go until the very end. Her books are absolutely bingeable but also so special that I think about them long after I finish reading. She also knows how to balance spice and plot in the most perfect way. (which ya'll know is a MUST for me.) She nailed it YET AGAIN with this one. Loved it!

4.5✨ Thank you to Hannah and team for this arc, THIS TICKS ALL MY BOXES AND I'M SO OBSESSED!

Tilly was such an amazing FMC, the way she's tough and no-nonsense - whatever Rowe gave, she pushed back 10x harder. But how Cowan's writes her with dealing with depression made her such a well-rounded character. I loved her temper, especially because it comes out in defense of her loved ones. I loved how this independent girlie let her guard down to let Rowe take care of her in a vulnerable moment, as I always have a soft spot for moments like these.

I loved Rowe! He's so gruff and stubborn, but how he softens around Tilly (eventually) is so lovely to see. He's the first ex-con cowboy that I just wish I could pull out of a book. And the reason for him going to prison was so swoony and sexy. He is quiet, guarded, and carrying so much weight from his past. He’s not loud about his feelings, but the way he shows up… the restraint, the protectiveness, the way Tilly clearly still owns his heart…absolutely destroyed me.

While I love a spicy book, this shows that there is more substance with their relationship which makes me appreciate it even more.

As I am slowly approaching my 30s, I love characters in their 30s. I feel like I can relate to them even more so that a character in their early 20s.

I’ve been excited for Rowe and Tilly’s story since they were mentioned in book one, and it did not let me down. I was hooked right away and tore through it. The past/present timelines were so good. I’ve been dying to know what went down between them.

Tilly is my new obsession. She’s strong, blunt, hilarious, and I loved how fiercely she went after what she wanted… especially Rowe. And Rowe? Peak grumpy cowboy who only softens for her. He’s just as possessive and obsessed, which made their dynamic even better.

Their chemistry was unreal. The tension, the history, all of it just worked. I loved reading their story so much.

I am obsessed with Tilly and Rowe. I needed to know their story so I was so excited for this book! Tilly was sassy, fiery, and possessive and I loved it. Rowe tried to act tough and that he didn’t need her but she knew how to push his buttons and he couldn’t resist. They are both broken but are truly the only ones that could help each other heal. Also the spice!! ❤️‍🔥 I can’t say enough good things about this book!

Hannah does it again! Tilly and Rowe were such a ride but I loved it. Tilly is full of sass and such a brat which I really enjoyed and Rowe is an ex con bronc rider. They have been friends for years but after an incident and Rowe went to jail they didn’t talk for 8 years. Tilly moves back to their small town and straight away their banter and chemistry is explosive! They both hate how much they want each other but when they finally give in it’s everything you have been waiting for.

I’m quickly falling in love with this series and I can’t wait to see what’s next from Hannah! Thank you so much to Hannah for allowing me to read this arc.

I love the not so secret pining and tension between these two!!! The "I hate you but not really" vibes they've got going on!!

This is a story of two halves. The first half of the book was a real struggle for me. I didn’t like either Tilly or Rowe all that much, but I needed to know more about what had transpired all those years ago.

I’m glad I stuck with it, because the back half was much better for me. I’m still not a huge fan of Tilly, she’s fine. Rowe had a lot of walls, that he had rightfully earned over the years, but there felt like a lot still unsaid with his family.

Hannah can do no wrong because what the actual fccckk was that… I was hooked, entranced I became so obsessed so damn quick

Tilly is a wild card she is witty, strong, seductive, absolutely a queen. I loved her so much. She literally takes no shit from anyone and that makes her.. her. Honestly she became my favorite of Hannah’s FMC.

Now, to the sexiest cowboy with a mean streak and a scowl that can melt panties and make a man piss himself. Rowe was my perfect cowboy tattoos and all. I love him. He has a protective streak a mile long, I loved him he was the perfect MMC.

I loved them together. The banter was top tier perfect and honestly couldn’t have gotten better.

2.75 ⭐️’s rounded up

I liked this way better than the first one and I really wanted to love it but I ran into a lot of the same problems I had with the first one. I really think you need a new editor. There was a lot of errors and the story itself feels so fragmented… like it’s pieces of a really good story but they’re all messed up or certain conversations don’t make sense contextually?

That being said, the characters themselves had so much relatable complexity that I really loved and the romance was so good.
