It was supposed to be one night. Fate had other plans . . .
Anna's not looking for love. Fresh out of a divorce, she needs an escape. One reckless night of fun - and the gorgeous Irishman who buys her a drink at the bar promises exactly that. No last names, no strings, just fireworks.
Liam's used to hiding behind his game face. But after a brutal betrayal and an even messier brawl, he's lost everything: his football career, his team, and his reputation. A one-night stand with a stranger? Just the distraction he needs. He never expected to see Anna again...until she turns out to be his son's new teacher.
Anna knows she shouldn't get involved with a student's father, especially not him. But Liam's not the man the tabloids say he is. He's everything she thought she wasn't ready for. Which makes him so much worse.
Bestselling author and TikTok sensation Tierney Page returns with Book 3 in the London Hearts series - a spicy forbidden romance about second chances, secrets and lies that will sweep you away!
Y’all, I was in Tierney’s DMs shamelessly begging for this ARC, and I am happily shocked she put up with me. Worth it though, because The Player’s Promise absolutely knocked my socks off. This is the perfect finale to the London Hearts series, and I am unwell with how good Tierney is at mixing plot, feelings, and filth.
Anna is 35, newly divorced, and spiraling in the most relatable way. Liam is 32, a hot footballer single dad with a messy ex and the emotional range of a man written by a woman. Their chemistry is instant, and the emotional growth goes even harder.
Tierney’s sprinkled in jokes had me cackling and the spice was exactly the level of 🔥 I wanted. April and Gemma brought the best “truth hurts” friend energy that forced Anna to stop self sabotaging. Then the ending hit with the reminder that your timeline is your own, and suddenly you are (I am) crying on your (my) couch with all the feels.
A five star, laugh cry swoon finale. Thank you to Tierney and Forever for the ARC. I am devastated to say goodbye to this series, but this was the perfect sendoff.
Irish Single Dad with a dirty mouth need i say more?! This book had me hooked. It was way more emotional than the previous two. I was laughing and sobbing my heart out.
Both of them were blindsided by the life they thought they were going to have only to be left wondering how to pick up the pieces and start over.
They had such great chemistry and as always the spice was spicing but I didn't feel like it took away from the plot at all. I enjoyed all the characters and feel like this one was my favourite out of the whole series!
💚Single Dad 💚She's his sons Teacher 💚Forbidden 💚Footballer MMC 💚Found Family
4.5⭐️4🌶
Bonus points go to the girls friendships, their banter and unwavering support for each other was so much fun to read!
Thankyou to Tierney, Netgalley and Hachette for the opportunity to read this one early 🫶🏻
this was book 3 in the London hearts series! Probably my favourite in the series as it’s a sports romance and I’m a sports romance girlie. I literally couldn’t put this one down! The others took me a bit longer to enjoy but I devoured this one! Liam is a single dad football star and Anna is his son’s teacher. After a one night stand they both can’t forget each other until they run into each other again. Liam is dirtyyyy talking Irish man and it’s hotttt 🥵 This book completes the series and was such a fun and quick read! The found family and friendships throughout this book are so wholesome and sweet! And boy was it spicyyyyy 🥵🙊
Thankyou NetGalley and tierney for the early arc 🫶🏻
I’ve genuinely loved every book in Tierney Page’s London Hearts series, and this one was no exception. I originally found Tierney on TikTok because her humor is exactly my vibe—she appreciates all things romance, from beautifully emotional to completely unhinged and deliciously smutty, and I was thrilled to see that same voice come through so clearly in her writing. Her debut hooked me instantly (I blazed through it in one sitting that turned into a full-on morning), and she hasn’t let up since. In the words of the woman herself, “Absolute BANGERS”!
This third installment follows Anna, the newly divorced, heart-of-gold angel of our trio of besties. She’s a primary schoolteacher who has always dreamed of having a family of her own, now left picking up the pieces of her broken heart after her ex-husband wasted years of her life without being honest about not wanting children. (Yes, we hate him. Correctly.)
After some much-needed motivation (pep talks and maybe some liquid encouragement) from her best friends, Anna finally gets out of her comfort zone for a night out—and ends up in the arms of a devastatingly handsome Irishman who reminds her of exactly what she’s been missing (multiple O’s). What’s meant to be a perfect one-night memory quickly spirals into something much more complicated when she discovers her mystery man is the father of one of her new students… and not exactly who he said he was. Enter Liam (not the name he gave Anna); professional footballer (rugby for all of us Americans), secret-keeper, and walking temptation with an accent that makes you melt.
Of course, their chemistry is undeniable, and what follows is a forbidden, steamy, can’t-keep-their-hands-off-each-other kind of relationship that will have you kicking your feet and grinning like an idiot.
Both Anna and Liam bring their own baggage from their failed relationships and traumatic childhoods into the mix (because of course they do), and the story takes you through all the highs and lows—healing, vulnerability, fear, and ultimately, love. And while the emotional depth is there, it’s balanced perfectly with some of the hottest scenes I’ve read in a while; mixed perfectly with Tierney’s signature humor of course. I’m not kidding when I say I woke my husband up multiple times laughing (and possibly multiple times from the spicy scene inspo, IYKYK!)
I absolutely adored this book and honestly feel a little sad at the thought that the London Hearts series might be coming to an end. That said, if this is any indication of what’s next, I have zero doubt Tierney will take us on another wildly entertaining, deliciously spicy, and heartfelt ride with a whole new cast of characters; and I’ll be first in line to devour it.

Yall. He calls her angel. That’s all that needs to be said.
Ok, but actually moving on, there’s quite a bit to unpack with this one. There’s something easy and sweet about the London Hearts series and that’s why I keep coming back for them. That being said, I cannot say they are the most amazing books ever. They are sweet, they make me smile, they make me laugh, and they make me cringe in the “oh this is so cute” way, but they have flaws. However, I didn’t want to put this book down until I finished and I LOVE ME a sports romance and single dad, put that together and you have a happy reader lol.
Now, I will say there came a point where the spice was too much for me. I don’t mind spice, I don’t search for it, but I don’t mind it BUT when over half the book is smut then there begins to be problems because at that point it becomes boring and you begin to search for the actual plot. In addition I found Anna rather annoying (as I usually do) and unreasonable but other than that this really was a good book
Moving in, to talk about Liam….(which lemme just quickly say these books have the most generic names ever it makes me laugh I love it) he had me hooked. He was caring, protective (perhaps too much but hey we all have flaws), and he loved with his entire soul. BUT THEN, he made the biggest mistake of admitting the most horrendous secret I done ever heard….HE HATES PIZZA. Lolll jkjk that’s not horrendous but that scene where she was like “who hates pizza??” I felt that, and honestly I don’t know why, but knowing that made me connect further with him and although I disagree with the stance I truly do like Liam’s character. I like the way he treats Anna and I LOVE him with his son.
Also I LOVE how much the trio and their patterns were in this one because the trio is what makes this book and overall series so warm. I loved them all (Gemma’s such a real one I love her) and they got Anna through the hard times when she really needed it.
Now, I’m gonna wrap this up but before I do….THEY A NOTTING HILL MOMET OMG. A FREAKING NOTTING HILL MOMENT, NOTTING HILL IS OKE OF MY MOST FAVORITE MOVIES OH MY GOODNESS. Now, I had a love hate relationship with this scene bc wtf u mean u stealing from one of my fave movies but at the same time awww ur drawing from one of my fave movies 😭
The London Hearts series by Tierney Page is such a fun time. (If you don’t follow her on social media, do yourself a favor and add her immediately.) Tierney’s witty personality and love of all things spice comes through in her writing style, and I’m here for it. For this debut series, the friend group and banter between them is just as good as the love stories.
The Player’s Promise is the third book in the series and though it’s about two people who are trying to rebuild their lives after being emotionally wrecked, the fun banter between the core friend group continues to be a delight and remains a huge part of the story. (Seriously made me laugh out loud several times.) I liked both Anna and Liam, though found myself frustrated with Anna multiple times. Both went on emotional journeys and had their own demons to fight, but I felt Anna was unreasonable at times. That said, perhaps I was more emotionally invested in Liam, because, well…who wouldn’t be?
Liam was a top tier fictional boyfriend. He checked all the important boxes for me. Professional athlete…touch her a die…romantic gestures… While I don’t normally like the single dad trope, leave it to Tierney to have me fully invested and enjoying every moment. Liam is a fantastic dad and I loved his relationship with Finn. That part of the story was interesting, warm and sometimes heartbreaking. The whole dynamic grounded the story in the best way. I also really loved the relationship between Anna and Finn. It was a satisfying and touching part of the story.
I’ve loved seeing Tierney’s growth as a writer throughout this series. The books are fun, quick reads, that are just the right palate cleanser I need between the darker, romantasy genre books I normally read.
Overall, I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the author’s next book.
Special thanks to NetGalley, Forever (part of Grand Central Publishing), and Tierney Page for sending me this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Anna has finalised her divorce from Mason, he changed his mind about having children and a family is all she ever wanted. Meanwhile in Dublin Liam has just found his long term girlfriend and mother of his son, Finn, packing and leaving him for his team mate. Heartbroken and angry he lashes out, ending his career in Ireland and leading to a move to London. On her birthday night out she hooks up with Liam for a one night stand. But then she ends up being Finn’s teacher and the pull between Liam and Anna is undeniable.
This is the second of the London Hearts book I’ve read (I read the Suite Secret) and the third in the series of standalone interlinked books. In each you get glimpses of the main characters from each book.
Set in London (but written by an Aussie author), the use of “realtor” really took me out of the book in chapter one. It’s a letting agent in the UK. I suppose at least it was referred to as a flat, apartment would have been a step too far! Anna is a teacher, but part way through is threatened with losing her “teacher licence”. I’ve been a teacher in England since 2003. Wtf is a teacher licence? An absolute nonsense. Not a thing in England. She could have her QTS revoked, although not by the school. Getting things wrong about the career I have in media is an absolute bugbear of mine so this took me straight out of the story. BBC Sport isn’t an actual channel either, it’s a red button thing. Honestly, I just wish they’d got someone from the UK to read it through, maybe someone who teaches here too. These errors could so easily have been avoided.
The story itself is enjoyable, the characters likeable with a HEA and some spicy scenes. There are emotional themes, for Anna, Liam and Finn, which are handled well. And it ultimately has an uplifting story. I will definitely read more from the author.
When i thought Max and Gemma were everything, Anna, Liam and Finn came along and left me obsessed. They had me hooked, all the way from the start till the end. I did not want to put it down. Everything about them was simply amazing. The tropes had me excited; from single dad to the forbiddenness, I loved it all. I laughed, I swooned, I kicked my feet, I got all hot and bothered, safe to say I felt everything.
Oh sweet Anna. I absolutely adored her. She just want someone she can have a family with, and have a sense of security and belonging with. She just wants to be happy, and glad Finn and Liam came into her life. She's an amazing teacher, sister and best friend too. Always being supportive, caring and there for everyone.
Liam was caring, overprotective, and always supportive. He just wants to be a perfect, present and amazing dad to Finn after what happened, and he's doing a good job at it. He's also obsessed and down bad for Anna, just like Tierney's other MMCs. And the dirty mouth on him, he's literally so hot.
I'll never get tired of obsessing over their friendship group. Their trio is literally phenomenal, i'm obsessed with how caring and supportive they are of each other, and constantly having each other's back. Plus also serving as a comic relief, they never cease to make me laugh.
I can't believe this series is over, it's like a bitter sweet feeling. But I'm also super excited for what's to come next!
Thank you so much to the author, Netgalley and Little Brown Book Group for granting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Tierney Page's "The Player's Promise" is a stellar single-dad romance. I could not put this book down. Liam (MMC) is everything. He's an Irish footballer and certified hottie who falls first and hard with Anna (FMC) after a one-night stand. Liam left the morning after without so much as a word, even though they blew each other's minds. Little does he know, he is soon going to be reunited with her..... because she is his son Finn's teacher! This book has a little bit of everything: drama, unresolved trauma, football shenanigans, schoolyard bullying, swoony declarations, spicy spice, great friend groups, and delicious banter and jokes. I laughed quite a bit while reading this. I thought Anna and Liam were both excellent characters, both together and separately. I loved Anna's fierce protectiveness over her students, especially Finn. I loved Liam's dedication to his son, the close bond they had made my heartstrings tug and tug and tug, especially considering everything Finn's horrible mother put him through. Together, Anna and Liam have electric chemistry with one another, and they can't seem to keep away from each other. The yearning between them is great! The respective friend group interactions are also fun. The interactions between Anna and her gals and Liam and his mates (even via text!) make for some hilarious happenings! This might be a little bit long, but I was enjoying it so much that it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of it. I need to go back and read the other books in this series!
Thank you to NetGalley, Tierney Page, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC 📚 I have read Tierneys other 2 books and still adore her friendship group 🥰 its probably the best part of her writing style and I want part of it! Unfortunately I cannot read this authors books without hearing it in her accent making the fact this series is set in London quite difficult! Hey, she has a great accent at least! ⚽️ Sports star MMC 🍀Irish single dad (that accent 😍) 🩵 Single dad 📚 Teacher FMC 🥵 "One night stand" 📱Phone s£x After his long term partner leaves him for his teammate and cuts all ties with their son, Football star Liam moves his life and son Finn over to London for a fresh start on a new team. Teacher Anna has just come out of a long term relationship and her mates convince her to have a bit of fun much to her dismay! From here we enter a one night stand situation with the pair followed by a ghosting! When we learn that Anna is actually Finns new teacher, the lines of her no parents rule are seriously blurred. The pair have lots of fun in the bedroom thats for sure! Watch the pair grow together as they feel much more than the sexual chemistry increase🔥 We have a few other side stories going on but I dont want to spoil anything. Well, quite a lot to unpack in this read, early spice which continues throughout the story. Maybe even dare I say it too much at times! Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the phone scene very much. This book had lots going on and lots of side characters/stories, for me it felt too long and with too much going on at times. I would still recommend this series though, decent read 📚
Liam Murphy is a footballer in Dublin with a bit of a temper problem. When his relationship goes up in flames, he’s forced to move to a new team in London along with his 8 year old son Finn. Anna is a primary school teacher fresh out of a messy divorce. A chance encounter and a steamy one night stand between them is just what they both need, only to later find out that Anna is Finn’s new teacher.
I have been a fan of the authors content for a while and have not read her other books yet so was very excited to read this, and it did not disappoint! It’s an Incredibly sweet romance with a lot of spice, but also explores some heavy themes around assault and mental health which I really enjoyed.
The ending is very “rom-com” which was very sweet, but did feel like a bit of a tonal shift compared the the rest of the book, but hey, I’m not bad about it.
——————minor spoiler alert———————- One gripe I did have was that towards the end of the book, quite a big deal is made on two occasions about them being in love/declaring to the world that they are in love, however they had already told each other that they loved each other which made these declarations and the resulting actions feel pointless. If they hadn’t already said “I love you”, these moments would have been more hard hitting. ———————————————————————-
I really enjoyed this, and will definitely be going back to read the other two in the series!
Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown Books for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

This is one of those books that you simply fall into. You start by reading the premise and then decide to see what it's like...and before you know it, it's chapter seven or maybe even just four, you're totally in love with the MMC and wait, is this also promising to be spicy?! You're grabbing your copy to pay on the way out.
Well, not exactly. In my case it was more like thank you to Netgalley and Forever publishing for the lovely ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I can't remember the last time I read a sports romance that felt this thrilling and suspenseful (not necessarily in a crime-y way but like will-they won't-they). I loved that it was set in England and focused on footwall (as in soccer for most American readers), which can be a brutal sport with tons of injuries and competitiveness.
Anna and Liam were both so broken and yet so wonderfully healing in each other's company. The spice seemed abundant and enjoyable, and complimented their dynamic as a couple. The only thing I want to add is that the book starts off with a really loud list of trigger warnings that almost made me turn back. When in reality I felt like many of those crazy labels seemed just something in passing or barely even there. So, don't scare off too easily on this!
I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series when it comes out.
The Players Promise - book 3 in the London Hearts series. Wow, easy 5 stars from me. I devoured this in 2 days. Tierney Page you’ve done it again! I was lucky enough to be given my second ARC from Net Galley for Tierney’s series, and boy was I ecstatic.
I was so excited to read the story of Anna, after the ending of book 2 and her divorce being mentioned, I wanted her to have the happy ending she deserved. And this did not disappoint.
The spice was perfect and mouthwatering. The love you felt from Anna and Liam, it was captured perfectly. The trauma Liam was going through since childhood, the abandonment, and the way he handled his son Finn’s trauma, it was so emotional. And Anna finally coming back out of her shell and finding herself resonated with me DEEPLY. Coming out of a long term relationship and feeling broken, but slowly healing yourself in ways like going out with your girls, finding love again, being successful and doing the things you find pockets of happiness in. Tierney described it all perfectly. Anna got everything she deserved and MORE.
And a special mention to Gemma, the comedy aspect from her flowed through all 3 books perfectly. She is the perfect character, literally had me laughing out loud at some of the sarcastic comments! She sounds like my kind of girl!
This was the perfect ending to the London Hearts series, and I’m gutted it’s over. But I’m excited to see what’s coming next from Tierney. She’s an absolutely unbelievable author. In Tierney we trust!!
The Player's Promise was the ultimate trifecta — single dad, Irish accent, professional footballer. I mean, come on now! I have never cared about football… until Liam freaking Murphy.
After experiencing so much of Anna’s story throughout the first two books, The Player's Promise feels even sweeter as we watch her pick herself up, rebuild her self-esteem, and finally start receiving everything she’s always dreamed of. The girl even gets her own Notting Hill moment! Anna, you are giving me hope, babe.
Our girl squad is back in full force, delivering the wild banter, hard truths, and ultimate friendship goals we’ve fallen in love with. We also get more of Max as the loving older brother, along with Tierney’s signature witty humour sprinkled throughout.
And Liam — a man who desperately wants the same things Anna does. When they both feel like they’ve lost almost everything, they find each other and slowly work their way back to themselves… and to each other.
The audio for this is going to absolutely slap. Imagine hearing a hot Irish accent saying things like: grand, shite, aye, baby and his seven year old son saying, da. My ovaries will literally explode listening to that!!
- professional football player x school teacher - teacher x parent - she's English x he's Irish - forbidden romance - set in London - single dad - one night stand - divorced FMC
I absolutely loved The Player’s Promise! I’ll be honest I was a little nervous going in after the second book, but this one completely blew me away.
Anna and Liam are everything! I loved that they’re both older and that this story really represents women in their 30s who feel like they might be “behind” in life. It felt so real and relatable in a way you don’t always see in romance.
Liam… ugh. He completely stole my heart. The way his mental health struggles were handled and how he actually gets help meant so much. And the way he loves his son Finn? Stop. He’s such a good dad and you can really see him trying to break those cycles. It made me love him even more.
The chemistry between Anna and Liam was amazing, and their story just felt so real like it could actually happen to you. That’s one of my favorite things about Tierney’s writing.
I also loved getting more of the friendship between April, Gemma, and Anna. Their bond is so special and honestly made me wish I had a friend group like that in real life.
And of course, Tierney’s humor shines through so perfectly. You can really tell she’s just as funny in her books as she is on TikTok, which makes her stories feel even more genuine.
This was the perfect ending to the series, and I already can’t wait to see what she writes next!
Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for providing this ARC!
We need to talk about Liam, because this man is a bundle of green flags. The love he has for Finn is so strong and absolute, it’s the perfect example of unwavering fatherly love. His son is the center of his world, and you feel that in every interaction. I genuinely don’t understand how Finn’s mom could walk away from both of them the way she did.
Then there’s the way Liam cares for Anna. He is thoughtful with her emotions and intentional in how he shows up for her. It’s not just what he says, it’s what he does. Because of how he treats her, you can see Anna naturally begin to care for Finn just as deeply as she does for Liam, and that connection felt so genuine and earned.
Anna’s friends were another highlight. The support they give her and the little pieces of wisdom they share throughout the story added so much warmth. At the same time, the other side characters clearly serve a purpose. You can sense where the tension will come from, and there’s this quiet anticipation building as you wait for it to unfold.
I couldn’t put this book down. It was so full of heart and compassion, with a love that doesn’t happen all at once, but grows steadily day by day into something strong, lasting, and deeply rooted. I received this as an ARC and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
You're like a drug and I'm desperate. You're my weakness.
This is Book 3 in the London Hearts series. I have read Books 2 & 3. Look forward to reading book 1. They're interconnected standalones, so you can read them alone, but I highly recommend them all!!! 😍
I loved Liam & Anna's story!! Swoon!! It's fast paced & hilarious & steamy & just perfect. 😍 The characters are so fun.
A favorite LOL 😂 scene - (Max, Anna's brother, & Gemma from Book 2) are going with Anna to find Liam at a TV interview & they are running: ...We fling our doors open & bolt. "Oi, you can't park there!" an inspector calls out. "You can't handle the truth!" Gemma yells over her shoulder. I'm running so fast I have to cup my chest to keep my boobs from giving me a black eye. It's very romantic. ...... Two security guards are positioned at the station's entrance, stepping forward when they see us approaching. "This is a restricted area," the taller one says, raising his hand. "You can't just -" "Oof!" Gemma barrels straight through him, taking him out. They hit the ground with a loud smack and Max and I both freeze, mouths agape. LOL 😂😂😂😂😂
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Thank you to the author (Tierney Page), publisher - Forever (Grand Central Publishing) & Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I am OBSESSED! I swear this was laced with something illegal because I inhaled it in record time. Liam freaking Murphy, the hottest Irish single dad footballer (or soccer player ⚽️) has a ONS with sweet as heck recently divorced Anna, and jeepers the sparks flew and I was done for.
After realizing that Anna is Liam's son's teacher, they agree to FWB as it would complicate everything for them. But, good lord how could they resist with how utterly hot they were together?!
They were both dealt some pretty crappy hands by their former partners, and both had so much to work through, but their connection was just too good to pass up.
I felt all the things, I laughed, snorted, cackled, my mama heart cracked right open with the love and care both Liam and Anna showed to Finn, and let's be honest I needed a cold shower a few times.
This was my favorite of the series, but I definitely recommend all three books, the spice is immaculate and the the bond between Anna, Gemma and April is unmatched. Tierney has brought such laughter and joy with her videos, and it transcends into her writing. I can't wait to see what she writes next!
Like the rest of the London Hearts series, I could not put this book down. How can you not enjoy a good single dad sports romance.
I did find the female main character, Anna, a bit frustrating at times. Her actions and the way she viewed herself were sometimes annoying, and I was relieved when an intervention finally took place in the story. I only wish it had happened sooner. That said, Anna is still a sweet character, and it’s hard not to root for her. At the end of the day, she just wants to be happy and have a family, something the male main character, Liam, also wants.
Liam was a great counterpart to Anna. He is caring, protective, and supportive throughout the story, and he says a lot of wonderful things, made even better by his Irish accent.
I also loved seeing characters from the previous books appear again. Their presence helped round out the series nicely and made the story feel more connected. Overall, it was another enjoyable addition to the London Hearts series, and I can’t wait to see what the author comes out with next.
Firstly, I was so happy to pick up an ARC copy of The Player's Promise. Thank you so much Netgalley and Tierney 🩷
Please see below my random thoughts from throughout the book!
The prologue had me raging in the BEST way.
Tierney's writing is just so iconic and you can see the flair she brings from her own personality which I absolutely LOVE. For example: "GET YOUR UTERUS JUICE OFF MY COUCH" had me literally cackling 😂😂
There was some deeper conversations found throughout this book as well. I especially loved the one between Finn and Liam, it was so beautifully written it made me want to cry ... a mixture of sad and happy tears.
We love a man that goes to therapy! And reading a story where he discovers himself and his mental journey is always so thought provoking and something I personally would love to see more in real life!
I'm obsessed with the Notting Hill references and how they change over the course of the book.
What a fabulous book- my favourite in the series for sure! Do yourself a favour and read it! 🩷
my HEART !! What a great end to the London Hearts series :’) Anna’s story is full of healing, emotion and growth … as well as an incredibly dirty talkin irish man who plays professional football and is so very down bad for Anna. This was so much fun to read, Gemma, April and Anna’s friendship had me cackling at points, Gemma will always be my favourite she’s absolutely hilarious and so unhinged, the three of them going through life in their 30s is so much fun to read.
Tierney is a hoot of a human, and her humour comes out so much in her writing. As a highly experience romance reader, her spicy scenes are also 10/10 hAWT.
“Because you deserve to be someone's first thought in the morning and last thought before they go to sleep.” ~ "You know, I never feel any burden when I'm with you. Whenever you're around, it's like ... I don't know. kind of feel ... free." ~ “What happens if i fall for you?” “You don’t get it do you, baby?… I’d fall with you” ~
Read as an ARC from NetGalley, publishing 26th May 2026
What a wonderful way to finish the series. I loved the way we got to see two broken characters come together and heal.
I think the best part of this trilogy is the friendship between the three women and how they are always there for each other while also willing to call each other out on their bullshit every now and then. I found that there was a Weeee bit too much moping and wallowing in this book for my liking and also A LOT of sex compared to the other two books which can be a positive or a negative depending on the reader themselves. My favourite part of the book was when Liam looked after Anna in the shower after the incident with Roger, it was so beautifully written and gave us an insight into the car the two characters had and I LOVED IT
Overall was lovely seeing Anna get her happy ending after such a lacklustre dick of a man named Mason.
And sincerely FUCK ROGER

The Player's Promise Book 3 in the London Hearts series #ARC review 4.5 ⭐️
Anna is 35, rebuilding her life after a heartbreaking divorce and holding tight to her dream of becoming a mom. Liam, a 32-year-old Irishman, is starting over in London with his sweet 7-year-old son, Finn. When their worlds collide on a night out, they bring all their baggage and find an undeniable connection. This story had everything: humor, spice, and emotional punches that had me tearing up one minute and ready to throw my Kindle the next. I was fully invested. And can we talk about the friend group? April, Gemma, and Anna are absolute squad goals- but also the rest of the family- supportive, fierce, and never letting them self-sabotage - yes please.
This is one to read if you enjoy- ⚽️Single Dad ⚽️Found Family ⚽️Forbidden Romance ⚽️Teacher/Parent Thank you Net Galley for the ARC opportunity!
Oh my fucking god… @tierney.reads this may be your best work yet!
So thankful for @netgalley and @hachetteaus for my copy of the EArc for The Player’s Promise.
This book is the 3rd and final in the London Hearts series ( I am not ready for it to be over!) and it really is the spiciest and most poignant ending to the series. The characters from these books have stayed with me long after I’ve read them!
Anna and Liam our MC’s…the chemistry is instant from their first meeting. Both are nursing broken hearts and unsure of their respective futures.
The heart in this book will make you ‘awww’ out loud. Whilst the spice will definitely make you hot under the collar… reaching for a fan 🔥🌶️(or something else battery operated, if you please 🙊)
I cannot wait to read more from Queen Tierney, but absolutely devastated to say goodbye to my London Hearts gals. I definitely will be rereading this series at some point!
My first book by this author. A dramatic romance featuring a single footballer dad and a teacher who wants to be a mum. Some of the tropes aren't my jam; single dad, a woman desperate to be a mother, women in stereotypical archetypes (one is a crazy stalker and another is a woman who abandons her son just to have a child with someone else) so I am probably not the best to review this book.
There is drama and emotional ups and down, this isn't a cozy romance. It touches on some deep subjects. I found the side characters a little two dimensional as I haven't read the previous books, they all sounded similar and it was hard to tell them apart. There is a lot of the authors humour in the characters, I follow her on social media, these parts were great as more relateable.
Overall a well written book and a plot that moves along well. I didn't enjoy the tropes or the side characters so much.

I’m so happy I got to read the third book in the London hearts series, each book just gets better than the last!
I was really hoping the book would be about Anna and her life as we had snippets of her from the previous two books, and this did not disappoint. I fell in love with Liam and Finn as soon as I read about them and watching their relationships with Anna was amazing.
I love the dynamics between the friendship group Anna has and the whole book just felt so real to me. The banter was top tier and I adore Tierney’s writing. If she writes it I’m reading it, no questions asked.
These characters in the series will stick with me for a long while and I cannot wait to read more of Tierney’s books in the future.
✨ARC✨ 💚⚽️📚🚌 This is Book 3 in The London Hearts Series! This book was an absolute banger as Tierney loves to say! I could not put it down and loved every minute of it! Anna and Liam’s story is one filled with healing and joy! Liam is a single dad who is just trying to be the best dad he can for Finn. Anna is a newly divorced teacher who wants nothing more than to be a mother. What started as a hook up after going to a bar turns into so much more! The spice in this was 🔥🔥. Liam is definitely 🥵🔥You also have to love seeing April and Gemma more. You never know what’s on Gemma’s mind and that’s the best part! I can’t recommend this book and series enough!
The previous books in this series are: The Other Brother 🩷 and The Suite Secret 💜
I received an ARC copy of The Player’s Promise from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I could not put this book down. The Player’s Promise completely pulled me in from the start. I loved how deeply the story explored the personal trauma both characters carried—Finn’s trauma, especially, absolutely destroyed me. It was raw, emotional, and handled in a way that really stuck with me.
The banter between the FMC and her friends had me laughing out loud, while the heavier moments genuinely brought me to tears. That balance between humor and heartbreak made the story feel so real and engaging.
This was my first book in the London Hearts series, and it definitely won’t be my last. I’m excited to go back and get to know the other ladies of London better.
Oh my gosh!!! Thank you to Forever for the arc of this!!! I have arc read all the books in this series and absolutely loved every single one!!!! I cannot decide if between Anna or Aprils story for number 1!!! I ate this up and read 60% in one day! I was sucked in from the first chapter! Anna is grieving her divorce from Mason and a life she thought she was going to have. On her birthday, Gemma and April get her to go out and she has a 1 night stand! Turns out that one night stand is a professional footballer and her students father, but the chemistry and the spicy scenes were soo good!!! Finn, Liam’s son is the best! I absolutely loved him and cried so much for him! The ending.. oh my gosh 😭😭 so freaking amazing!!! Such a great end to this series!!
