Arcane Pathfinder #4

Arcane Pathfinder Book 4: Exploration

Rate this book
For Samantha Alecto Moura (Sam)—Soul Shifter, Arcane Pathfinder, and occasional walking disaster—peaceful exploration was never in the cards.

What begins as a simple escort mission for a royal ally, Cara Alessia, hurtles Sam and her eccentric crew deep into uncharted space, where alien megastructures, strange factions, and dangerous curiosities lurk behind every glowing gate. From negotiating with tentacled truth-finders to dodging the deadly egos of imperial politics, Sam must balance diplomacy with her knack for blowing things up… preferably not in the same conversation.

But the deeper they travel, the more tangled the web becomes. Allies hide secrets. Enemies smile too easily. And the path ahead may lead to treasures beyond imagining—or a trap sprung on a galactic scale.

With her 'Aplha Class Mothership' Ica, Bloodmorph companion Lupie, Void Slime sibling Nul, and her new Necromancer crew member Xela at her side, Sam’s ready to explore the verse…but is she ready for what she will encounter?

Brimming with discovery, danger, and LitRPG progression, Exploration takes the Arcane Pathfinder saga to space, its most daring frontier yet—where every world has a secret, and some of them don’t want to be found.

Disappointing for the price

This edition of Sam’s story felt like filler and setup rather than progress. If I had paid 2.99 or KU for the book, I would have been ok with that. But at 9.99 I expect some concrete plot development, and my opinion is that this did not deliver

Ewwwww Haram

Way too many additions especially in the casual way it was done. This is literally just a harem novel now. What had great potential and a cool magic system is just a typical non sensical OP harem obsessed MC. Collecting everyone who crosses her path. Utterly hate it. Side note: I have no issue with polyamory but none of it in this book is intentional or meaningful. The author is just throwing more and more people into her orbit for no reason.

I need the next book

Usually by the fourth book the author is starting to drag the story out or lost the plot. Not this book!! Still feels on point and fresh.

New crew mates, new people and monsters to kill, space pirates and of course, blowing stuff up or myself.

This still as much fun as the first book and the Church of Life is causing Sam to want to destroy them even more. Always great characters that are well written, lots of action and excellent storytelling.

DNF 75%. Not engaging enough.
The plot etc. feels not plausible.
I didn't like the harem element as well, especially considering that the MC is engaged to someone. The new members of the MC's crew fall for her like in a cheap romance book.
The MC is way unbelievably altruistic. Like, who will want to gift a spaceship to a team of people that you met few days ago when they tried to kidnap you? Who will refuse payment for upgrading the station void gate without ANY reason.
