Duke Parker’s life has been years of unrelenting order. Meticulous schedules and forced similarity–it’s the only thing that’s helped him avoid being swallowed by the consuming guilt of an incident nine years ago that rearranged his entire world. Unable to put it off any longer, Duke agrees to be Senior Pilot of the newest semi-private division of his family’s multi-billion-dollar airline, Greenway Airlines.
The only problem? He’s going to have to break his perfect routine to find help for his nine-year-old twin boys. By adding someone new into his life he was prepared for mild turbulence–not love.
Recent Churchill University grad Sienna Johns is desperate to unshackle herself from her people-pleasing past. After turning down a senior-level position at her father’s world-renowned sports agency, she decides for the first time she’s going to choose herself. With dreams of becoming a music playlist curator and a desperate need for self-discovery, Sienna finds herself at an open interview with Greenway Airlines heir Duke Parker.
What they don’t expect is to find a love so unique neither of their distant hearts would’ve seen it coming. Will the relationship they’ve developed be strong enough to withstand their connected past, or will an undiscovered secret threaten to ruin it all?
Ken Blakely is a contemporary romance author of emotional, spicy & belly aching banter novels. Growing up, Ken was a football coaches kid, and married her high school sweetheart who went on to play in the NFL. If you enjoy billionaire romance, healing storylines, and always a touch of sports slivered in, you'll enjoy her books. When she's not writing, she likes to spend her time baking or playing with her two children.
not sure how i finished it, but i really didn’t like this book. the writing was questionable, the story was emotionally flat and the plot twist was pretty obvious. i had high expectations for this and sadly i was pretty disappointed. i’m leaving this review voluntarily and thanks to love note for the possibility to read this story.
While the plot might have had potential, the writing really got in the way. The prose often felt overwrought and unnatural, like the author was trying to emulate a writing style that doesn’t quite fit. Certain word choices were distracting, the pilot references were… excessive (we get it, Duke flies planes), and the character names (Marz and Major? Is that what people are naming their kids these days?) took me out of the story more than once. Ultimately, this just didn’t work for me.
I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t work for me. I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews across platforms, and while other readers enjoyed the romance and emotional beats, I personally found the story far too unrealistic to stay invested.
My biggest issue was how unprofessional everything felt. The main character is hired as a nanny despite having no experience, and not able to do basic tasks, like cook and do the laundry, and yet this is barely treated as a problem. For a job that involves caring for children and being trusted in someone’s home, it all felt completely implausible. Nothing had real consequences, which made the entire setup feel sloppy rather than romantic.
Because of this, I struggled to take the characters seriously or connect with the relationship. I’m a sucker for a nanny/ single dad trope but the lack of realism kept pulling me out of the story.
The writing style very immature. The story..predictable. The characters…boring. Was almost a DNF but I just toughed through it. Yeah more than likely will never pick this author up again and wouldn’t recommend.
i think that one area the author would stand to improve on is subtlety. as they say, “show, don’t tell”?
for example, the reader doesn’t need to be reminded SO MANY TIMES that the MMC is a pilot. all these references to flight/flying got so tiresome after a while. like this line: “Your fight-or-flight has been all fly and no fight for the last nine years. It’s time you land the plane and fight for what you love.” followed almost immediately by: “Flying for me is safe. Both literally and metaphorically. I’ve been gliding through the last almost decade, because everything was already set up for me to do so. To many, flying is freedom, but for me, it’s restraint.” the word “fly”, “flying” and “flight” literally appears ~62 times upon a quick search lol.
and also, the idea of being “imperfect but perfect for each other” was really on the nose. for e.g.: “I know my Duke has flaws, but I think he’s perfectly flawed for you.” and “I am flawed as hell, but if you’ll have me, I want to be imperfect for you.” (there are more but you can hunt them yourself) maybe it’s me but you don’t need to be so…overt?
i agree with the other reviewer that the premise isn’t bad/actually has potential as a series, but the execution really needs a lot of help. maybe working with another editor would be beneficial, because the writing is distracting in a lot of ways, particularly with the awkward word choices. i’m surprised a lot of them weren’t already flagged during the editing process (not gonna list them here don’t worry) because some of the adjective and verb choices were just wrong, as in the words were used incorrectly…
anyway, i finished it and there is potential but the writing just made it hard to get through.
Imperfect for You is such a beautiful story, and it touches on so many themes that hit deep.
It features single dad × nanny, insecurities, close proximity, found family, fated love, and even a little age gap.
Duke fell at first sight, but of course he kept fighting it… until he couldn’t anymore.
I really loved how the author wrote Sienna’s insecurities — how she struggles to believe anyone would truly want or choose her, and how her father damaged her self-esteem. It felt raw and real.
Another thing that stood out for me is the Parker family dynamic. The way the Parker siblings and parents welcomed Sienna and how they’ve supported Duke in raising his boys? So wholesome.
Duke and Sienna’s love story is so beautiful to read, especially watching them communicate and work through their differences.
And that twist? I definitely didn’t see it coming.
This is a 4.5-star read, and I absolutely recommend it.
Thank you to the author and Love Note PR for this ARC.
This is Ken’s debut novel and you would think she’s been writing for years 💜 Thank you for the arc!! A billionaire single dad who hasn’t let anyone in for 9 years after something traumatic happened that shook his life up and his nanny who is trying to find herself after being exactly who her dad wanted her to be find each other and it’s a match made in heaven. If you like the windy city series you are going to DEVOUR this book!! It’s emotional, heartfelt and SPICY! You see these characters grow and change together in the best way possible🥹 And I LOVEEEE when a billionaire billionaires right👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You know a book is going to be good when you have to force yourself to stop reading at 2 AM so you can get some sleep.
A single dad, billionaire romance where he YEARNSSSSS for her? A man that yearns is a man that earnssss 🤑
I absolutely LOVED this book so much and Ken blew my mind with how beautifully written this book was. Literally left me sobbing and pining for more.
The story revolves around Sienna and Duke. They will have you gripping your chest with their past/current traumas and leave you only wanting the absolute best for them. They deserve that so much.
The tension, the instant direct deposit, the swooning… yeah, I need one of the Parker Brothers so badly.
Do yourself a favor and read this book when it releases. You won’t regret it. 💜
“No one wakes up in the morning thinking that today is going to be their last day, but we also can’t risk non living each day as if it were our last.” • Imperfect for you is a romance stand alone book, here you’ll find:
🍬Single dad x Nanny ✈️Billionaire romance ✨Found family 💜No third act breakup
This was the author’s debut novel and I genuinely think she did a great job. The writing was smooth, engaging, and easy to fall into, which is something I always appreciate—especially from a debut.
Sienna is such a lovely character. She’s strong, sweet, and funny, but she’s also someone who’s been shaped to be the “perfect daughter” for her father, leaving little space for her to explore her own dreams or desires. I absolutely loved watching her grow throughout the book as she slowly finds her confidence and starts choosing herself. I do wish we had seen even more of that journey, but what was there felt heartfelt and real. Her relationship with the twins was adorable—I kept wanting more of their scenes because they were just that cute together.
Duke is stoic, reserved, and definitely a creature of habit, but underneath that structure is someone incredibly loyal, loving, and protective toward the people he cares about. I really enjoyed watching him gradually soften, allowing himself to step outside his routines and enjoy the small, messy moments of life.
Sienna and Duke’s relationship felt so genuine and—most importantly—healing. Yes, it starts with physical attraction, but it grows into something much deeper, intimate, and emotional. There were a couple of moments that felt a bit rushed to me, but overall their connection was beautiful to follow.
Lastly, I really enjoyed the supporting cast. I would’ve loved to see more of the dynamic between Sienna and Fia, but even without that, the side characters added warmth and charm to the story.
Overall, this was such a good book, especially for a debut, and I’m excited to see what the author writes next.
I'm glad I broke my ARC sign-up ban for this book 🤩 I would be very sad if I hadn't read it. I would have missed a wonderful book.
This book is Ken's debut novel, and she did a damn good job with it 👍 I instantly felt the connection between Duke and Sienna. And oh, did Duke fall first. Not just first but VERY fast. I would definitely say love at first sight for him. I'm not saying Sienna didn't like Duke, she definitely did, I mean, he is a 🔥 pilot, who wouldn't like him? She just needed a bit more time to fall for him. But she fell for his twins instantly. These two are really cute. They are almost zero troublemakers. Sure, they are 9-year-old boys, but still really well-mannered.
Who isn't well-mannered is Sienna's father 🤬 He tried to keep her small so she does whatever he wants from her. That's just how parenting works! That's gaslighting! And the thing he did after she left him 🤬 Honestly, that would have been a reason to sue him!
I'm so looking forward to reading the stories about Duke's three brothers.
I don't know if there will be a book about Jett & Fia, but I would love it. And I would love to know what happened between them the other night. So please let them be book 2 🤞
Thanks to the author and @lovenotes.pr for trusting me with an ARC 🩷
I’m a sucker for a good nanny / single dad romance and this one did not disappoint! I loved how dynamic the characters were and the chemistry was top notch. This book was spicy and a lot of fun but the serious bits and story telling were really good.
I wanted to shake the MMC multiple times, but I’m glad by the end he realized what he had!
“You’re more than enough for me, Curls. No matter how fractured life has made you feel, you’re unblemished to me.”
First things first, thank you for the ARC. Second, what the hell did I just read? Because I couldn’t stop reading it. Duke and Sienna are perfectly imperfect; they are honest, very real, and very human. This is what sets them apart from many books I’ve read.
Our hero, Duke Parker, is a single dad to twin sons and has three brothers. To any outsider, Duke Parker seems perfect. And how could he not be? He’s a pilot for his family’s airline, and the seat of the acting CEO is waiting for him. But then why does he feel lonely and not enough for his sons, family, and brothers?
Yes, this is where you might have read many tropes about how he hates life because his ex-wife left him, and you might be right. But Duke is not hateful; in fact, he feels responsible for stringing along a drowning relationship. Yet, he runs away, or flies away in his case, to the seven skies every chance he gets. But his perfectly routine life gets ruined when his newly hired nanny appears at his doorstep.
Sienna Johns. She is the definition of a people-pleaser, one we meet in our lives. Underneath all the head down, tight lips, and very curly hair- often tamed by her father’s choices- is a girl who loves curating music. Not one for the limelight, Sienna rebels when her predetermined future is laid out by her father.
But she doesn’t know that her new boss craves her rebellious nature. He wants her to state precisely what she wants and how she wants it. You can definitely think dirty.
Duke is pushing for her to find her wings and soar the skies he often flies, but what they don’t know is that their heart belongs on the ground- in their home, surrounded by the people they love and chose to be in their lives.
This book had me pausing multiple times to digest the dialogue, the yearning, the confessions, and, of course, the smuttttttt.
I received this book as a ARC and WOW!!!!!! this book was EVERYTHING. Sienna and Duke’s love story was just real. The way they helped each other in so many different aspects of their lives was amazing 💗💗
If you’re looking for a billionaire romance book with -No third Act breakup -FMC is his new nanny -Banter -MMC is a Single daddy who’s a pilot -He fall first & fasttt 🥹 - GREAT SPICE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK 💜💜💜
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review – Imperfect For You by Ken Blakely
I had the absolute pleasure of receiving both a beta read copy and an ARC of Imperfect for You — and I devoured them both! A huge thank you to my friend @asukiri169 for introducing me to Ken Blakely’s work, because now I’m officially obsessed.
This story grabbed me from page one and wrapped me in all the emotions. Sienna is exactly the kind of heroine I adore relatable, strong, hilarious, and someone you root for instantly. And Duke? Oh. My. Heart. He’s a swoony, single-dad pilot who falls first and falls FAST. His soft heart, protective nature, and the way he loves his daughter had me melting into a puddle.
Ken Blakely writes characters like they’re real people you know every side character shines, especially the kids. Their adorable moments added so much warmth to the story. And while we’re talking side characters… ROYCE. I am begging for his book next. Ken, if you see this: I’m waiting. Desperately. 😭❤️
The chemistry? Electric. The banter? Perfection. The love story? Real, healing, and heart-clutching in the best way.
And can we celebrate this?: ✨ No third-act breakup! ✨ Billionaire MMC ✨ Nanny/guardian grumpy x sunshine vibes ✨ Emotional depth paired with top-tier humor ✨ Spice that delivers 👀🔥
This book made me laugh, swoon, kick my feet, and tear up a little (or a lot). It’s the perfect balance of romance and real-life struggles, and when I finished, I genuinely wished I could experience it again for the first time.
Imperfect For You isn’t just a love story it’s about finding the person who meets you right where you are, flaws and all, and chooses you anyway.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves: 💙 Single dad romance 💙 Billionaire but soft MMCs 💙 Characters who heal each other 💙 Feel-good love with depth and spice
Ken Blakely has a new fan for life… and I’m already counting the days until the next book! 📚✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Soft, emotional, and surprisingly layered.
Imperfect for You is a heartfelt romance that explores insecurities, self-worth, and the courage it takes to choose yourself — even when love is on the line.
Duke and Sienna’s relationship develops slowly and thoughtfully, with strong communication and genuine emotional growth. I especially loved how Sienna’s insecurities were written — raw, realistic, and deeply influenced by her past. Duke’s quiet devotion and the way he shows up for both Sienna and his boys made him such a lovable MMC.
The Parker family dynamic was a huge highlight for me. The warmth, support, and found-family energy added so much depth to the story. And while this book leans softer emotionally, it still delivers a twist I genuinely didn’t see coming.
✨ Single dad pilot ✨ Nanny romance ✨ He falls first ✨ Found family ✨ Emotional but comforting
A strong debut and a great start to the Greenway Legacy series.
Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for the ARC.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC review: Imperfect for You completely consumed me from the very first page. I was hooked immediately and couldn’t put it down. Sienna and Duke felt undeniably fated—the kind of connection that just makes sense. This was a beautiful story of self-discovery and healing. Watching Sienna learn who she truly is—with Duke quietly supporting her every step of the way—was incredibly moving. And Duke… the ultimate broken hero. He’s that MMC we all love and drool over—protective, tender, and impossible not to fall for. Add in found family, an age gap, and then there’s the spice—because let’s be very clear… it was off the charts 🥵🔥 Emotional, addictive, and deeply satisfying, this book delivered on every level. Imperfect for You was a truly beautiful story, and I can’t wait to see what else Ken Blakely has in store for us. ✨ Tropes: Broken hero, found family, age gap, self-discovery 🔥 Spice: Very spicy ❤️ Overall: Unputdownable and unforgettable
This is the first time I read from this author and I literally could not put this book down. I loved the pace of the story. The found family was just beautiful and truly needed. You follow Duke, a single parent and pilot, and Sienna, a recent college graduate. Babysitting a kid is one thing.. but two?! Double the trouble. But in the best way. They had the best instant connection. And Duke's brothers kept cracking me up.
Thank you to LoveNotes PR, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This was such a perfect cozy weekend read. The writing is smooth and engaging, and the storyline flows beautifully, giving me a little bit of everything I wanted—romance, emotion, growth, and heart. The twist genuinely surprised me, and I really loved watching the younger FMC’s emotional growth unfold. Her journey felt authentic and rewarding.
The MMC was incredibly swoon-worthy and had me pining for more—he truly felt like the complete package. My only small wish, which is common for me with contemporary romance, is that we’d gotten more time with them after everything settles. I always want a little extra glimpse into their life once the happily-ever-after begins.
This was my first book by Ken Blakley, and it absolutely won’t be my last. I’ll be recommending this one!
This was a cute story! The two main characters were well developed, and their chemistry was unreal! I appreciate how sassy the FMC is and how she unravels the MMC. Great job, Ken!
I started writing this review before I even finished the book—that’s how amazed I am. The single dad + nanny trope is hands down my all-time favorite, and when I connected with this author on BookTok, something immediately told me to go order it. And wow… I’m so glad I listened.
I don’t usually write reviews (I normally just leave my rating and keep it pushing), but this book genuinely changed that for me. It felt so personal in the best way. The way the MFC, Sienna, has such an unsettling relationship with her dad hit me hard, and the storyline involving one of the twins getting tested for ADHD was handled with so much care. It captured the real emotions of what a parent’s thoughts can sound like when they’re faced with the possibility that their child may be a little different—and all the love, fear, confusion, and protectiveness that comes with that.
Ken Blakely truly outdid herself. She made sure readers felt everything through her words, and for this to be her first book?? I’m actually at a loss for words. I was genuinely bummed when I found out this is her only book right now, but I’m beyond excited for book two in the series and whatever she releases in the future—because I already know I’ll be preordering every single one.
Also, I have to mention how much I love that Ken interacts with her readers. She literally reaches out to ask how you’re enjoying it and wants to hear your favorite scenes and moments. And she genuinely means it when she says it doesn’t bother her—it fills her heart with joy. She is such an amazing woman and truly one of the sweetest authors ever.
I highly recommend ordering this book… but beware: you will lose sleep because you won’t want to put it down. Ken is officially an automatic-buy author for me, and if anyone ever asks for a single dad/nanny romance, this will be the very first book that comes to mind.
If I could give it more than five stars, I would. 10/10. ⭐️📚💛
Firstly, a huge thanks to @lovenotes.pr for allowing me access to this ARC. To @authorkenblakely thank you for writing so special ✨
This book was heartwarming, emotional, inspiring and hot 🥵. I adored the characters. Give me a single daddy and I’m a total goner 🫠 Duke Parker is a new book boyfriend for me, holy molyyyyy.
Sienna is the epitome of a strong, independent woman. She had been living under her dad for ages. Dictated to do what he wants, abiding by his orders and now, she’s had enough. She stands up to him and loses everything she’s worked for. Her savings, a secure job (that he got her 🙄) and takes life into her own hands. She’s so strong I applaud her. Her strength is admirable especially when someone who is meant to love you unconditionally plays with your head and emotions.
Duke and Sienna hit it off from the beginning. The sexual tension is hot 🔥. The sparks fly and I am there for it 👏🏼 When they eventually give in, they’re both unstoppable and my God, you need a window open and a fan!! 🪭
There are a lot of secrets that blew my mind. I did call a few of them 🙊 but the last twist towards the end, blew my freakin’ mind!! 🤯
I wanted a bit more drama with Sienna and her Dad. He seemed to fall off the face of the earth quite early on and I wanted him to put up a bit more of a fight or drama. But other than that, this book was fantastic. I loved the twins and Dukes brothers. The side characters were hilarious.
Can’t wait to read more from Ken and looking forward to book 2.
this was a nice read overall. i liked that both main characters were complex, and the way they acted at times was clearly rooted in their pasts, which made sense.
what didn’t fully work for me was the insta lust / insta love. i get that it can be realistic, but personally i would’ve enjoyed a slower build with more tension and gradual attraction (definitely more of a personal taste thing).
that said, for a debut novel this was really solid. the plot was intriguing and felt different from what i’ve read before. i’m also very curious about some of the side characters introduced, you can tell the author is setting up future stories well, which is always a good sign!
ARC - Thank you to Ken Blakely and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read this upcoming release early! Spicy and single dad x nanny? This gets a big tick from me! This book was quite fast paced and a little far fetched at times but an easy read to follow and enjoy. It covers some tricky topics so please check the trigger warnings first.
Twin boys aged 9 would be no easy feat but Sienna steps into her new Nanny role, despite her dad’s betrayal, with a spring in her step and her eyes on their dad. Her NBA player brother helps her win the boys over quickly and she has some lovely bonding time with them sneaking treats behind Dukes back. Sienna and Duke both face some massive personal growth throughout the book as a result of their own traumas and history. The scene where Sienna gets asked to go to Muffins with Mum at the school came full circle. 🙌🏽🥰
Questions I still have - Cici (grandma) vs Sisi (Siennas nickname) how are we pronouncing them so they’re different? Holding on to those hair products for this long? Hmm.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I really enjoyed this story and found myself getting emotionally invested faster than expected. It had been soft, heartfelt, and quietly impactful. Duke had fallen hard and fast, even if he tried to fight it for as long as he could. Sienna’s journey stood out the most to me, though. The way her insecurities were written had felt raw and painfully real. Watching her slowly accept that she could be chosen and wanted had been one of the strongest parts of the story. The found family element had added so much warmth. The Parker family dynamic had felt genuinely supportive and wholesome. Duke and Sienna didn’t shy away from difficult conversations, and watching them work through their differences made their relationship feel mature and intentional. Overall, this had been a beautiful, emotional read with strong character work and a lot of heart. Thank you so much to the author and Love Notes PR for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.
Imperfect for You follows the story of Duke (a single dad in need of a live in nanny) & Sienna (our just out of college applicant/nanny).
This is your standard nanny/single dad book. If you need a palette cleanser or an easy read this is that.
I will say though there is a lot of focus on age and there are some plot lines that were not fully addressed in regards to the FMCs father. & he is a big part of this book so, it would have been nice to either have closure. It felt like the solution was a neat little bow instead of dealing with the actual issue between the FMC and her father. But aside from that the book was decent and a good read.
Thank you to Love Note PR and the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Ken Blakely hooked me right from the start. I was immediately intrigued by Sienna and eager to learn more about her, and Duke? He is completely down bad from the moment he meets her. The more he gets to know Sienna, the harder he falls and his protective, possessive devotion is definitely a highlight. I loved how reassuring he is when her insecurities surface and how firmly he refuses to let her think poorly of herself.
The twist near the end genuinely surprised me. I may have sensed something coming, but I wasn’t expecting a twist at all, which made it really effective. I did wish we had a bit more closure with Sienna’s dad. I would’ve loved to see Duke stand up for her, but the way it plays out also feels very realistic.
Overall, this is a solid, spicy read with an obsessed MMC. While I wished for a bit more emotional depth, if you’re in the mood for heat, devotion, and a protective love interest, this book definitely delivers.
First off, thank you Ken Blakely and Love Notes PR for allowing me to an ARC for Imperfect for You! ✈️
This story follows Duke and Sienna, Duke is a pilot looking for a nanny to help watch and care for his twin boys, Major and Marz. In comes Sienna, in need of a job with no prior nannying experience, she instantly captures the attention of Duke. Their relationship quickly turns tension-filled and their chemistry is off the charts!
Duke and Sienna are two souls who were destined to heal each other’s pasts and demons. I love how they brought out the best in each other and seeing their little unit become a family was so special. I also loved how Duke and Sienna were always so in tune with one another. It seemed as though they always knew what the other person needed.
Lastly, the filthy things that Duke says literally made my jaw drop 😂
The cover of this book is so cute and discrete that I wasn’t expecting the spice in this book and let me tell you, the spice here… oh my god!!! It was so good! Duke has a dirty and boss mouth while Sienna was all about exploring her new confidence with him and that mix was so good 😩🛐
This book was a very good surprise, the twins were so cute and I loved the bond they have with Sienna 🩵
I was so related to Sienna’s relationship with her dad because my father is kind of like Sienna’s father, and I know how exhausting and hard is when you have to morph into someone else just to fit into the unhealthy expectations of someone else, and it was so beautiful reading how Duke helped her to find herself, how he helped her to believe she was worthy of love and being cherished 🩵
I also loved Duke, I just wanted to dive in the book and hugging him because he was carrying with so many things, and he was so convinced that he didn’t deserve love or anything good until Sienna entered his life ✨❤️🩹
I can’t wait to keep reading about this characters ✨
