He has withstood -50-degree Fahrenheit temperatures photographing in the Arctic and survived +120-degree Fahrenheit temperatures living with a Bedouin tribe in Egypt's Eastern desert. He was nearly bitten by a sea lion in the Galapagos (never stand between a mother and her pup while photographing!) and was chased by a 16-foot alligator in South Africa. His tripod and camera were carried off into the Arctic tundra by a curious Grizzly.

Journey back in time
ancient Egypt at its best. This trilogy is like a game of chess...so loaded with battle strategies. The author describes the people with such precision....I grew to know them.. This First Dynasty adventure was a trip back in time. Thank you, Mr picker for writing about such an amazing period of ancient history!

The combination of upper and lower Egypt
This book starts off good .When you get half way it slows down.I enjoyed learning about Old Egypt and how things became to be.I would recommend this book to anyone that is interested in Ancient Egypt and their custom.

Very Interesting
I chose to read this three book series before writing my review. While these books are fictional they still present a very interesting picture of what life may have been like during the First Dynasty of Egyptian life. Very entertaining and extremely interesting. The only drawback throughout these books was the time not being explained. For example, in one chapter the Princess was a toddler and the next chapter she was eight years old. Still an extremely interesting read.

A good novel
A very read able novel on ancient Egypt based on whatever little history we have of those times. Most interesting to me was the depiction of the attempt of digging the Suez Canal, which became a reality during the reign of Darius II, the Achmaenid King.

Interesting series
All the characters were very interesting. Author kept this series going with lively fairly fact based background. Probably will look for more to read from this author.

Wonderful
Avery interesting read. I enjoyed learning about early Egypt.
The characters were well developed and quite believable.

a little slow, thin on plot, and unnecessary derail about topics that don't move the plot forward.
