If life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value, and money is limitless, then what do you do about it? Why, you throw a party of course. You throw a party to end all parties. A party that will last for days. A party where debauchery knows no bounds. A party where the guests are expendable…
God help those unwitting souls who wind up on the guest list. In another time, long ago, the multi-millionaire party hosts might have been called Libertines. Or Philanderers, Sensualists, or Scoundrels… ‘Psychotic’ is probably more fitting.
Although Sebastian and Richard prefer to be known as Splatterpunks, if you please.
Warning from the author: This novel is my most disturbed and twisted offering yet. It is EXTREME horror. I cannot stress this enough, please turn away now if you are of sane mind and do not enjoy vivid descriptions of violent orgies and human cruelty.
Sam West is a British, extreme horror author with more than forty books to her name. If you like your fiction dark, gritty, gory, perverse and truly terrifying, then you're in the right place.
"Libertines. Or Philanderers, Sensualists, or Scoundrels…" NOPE! They're SPLATTERPUNKS!
Ya know... I kinda dug this :D Extreme (hence the name...), but fun. I really like the 'feel' of the story. Sam West portrayed the elitist AND psychotic personalities for Sebastian & Richard perfectly! I could have done without the Ed Lee tribute scene, Sam! ::barf:: Splatterpunks: An Extreme Horror Novel is like a mash up of Story of O and... something gorier than 'Hostel', but a better story than August Underground. (maybe 'A Serbian Film', minus the infamous scene?)
With a title like Splatterpunks, the story filled the big shoes. Gore, yep. Sex, yep. Shock value, yep. Grossness, yep. I don't get the bad reviews on this one. What were they expecting with that title? There are a few LOL scenes, which is great because I like a dash of humor with my horror.
If u like ur horror over the line, past the boundaries of good taste, squirm in ur seat sick, then Splatterpunks may be the read for u. Sam West pulls no punches when it comes to his characters psychopathic behavior, victims being violated and tortured in the most extreme sense of the word, and very few, if any survivors. Gory is an understatement. This is not however just another blood soaked, gore fest, written for the sake of sheer shock value. Mr. West is an excellent writer who guides u through a narrative of pain, fear, and hell on earth. Yet on this tour, he manages to do this with an amazing amount of talent that shines through the blood and carnage.
I'm completely up to date on Sam West's books and I finally have to say what other 3-star reviewers are thinking; he is trying way too hard to be shocking. The inclusion of certain depraved acts within this story seemed to be completely without need or justification. It was almost as if West was taking his cue from some of the great true splatterpunk writers and trying to gross out the reader, forgetting that it needed to fit into the story somehow....
I really despised all the characters, even the ones who I presume we were supposed to be rooting for.
The redeeming feature of the book is that it was included on Kindle Unlimited, so it cost me nothing, and it started off well.
Not the easiest book to read. Very gory and uncomfortable. But I like when my literature pushes boundaries, whether it be in good taste or some other area. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. But if you're a splatterpunk or a gorehound, this is the book for you.
It's not without it's flaws. Typos and poor grammar mar the text, but are less noticeable further into the book. The book is also fairly short. If you want a quick read, this is a good choice. I think it could've been a little longer.
A quick and engaging story that will please fans of 120 days of sodom but could have done with more editing as there were a few typos and an instance of character mixup.
If you're interested in this book however then I doubt you'll be bothered by this.
Another brilliant story from the twisted mind of Sam West. It has everything, a crazy plot, plenty gore, violence, treachery and an awesome ending that I never saw coming. An epic dose of Splatterpunk that i utterly adored. What a ride 10/10
I gave this an extra * because someone actually survived, which is rare for extreme horror/splatter punk! However, the ending was rushed, the gore was meh, and it could have been so much more. Felt too short, too rushed.

This is my third try at a Sam West yarn and I must say that this one has been the most satisfactory. When a short story like this can pack so much carnage and scat into so few pages and make even the most jaded of readers (myself) smirk in wicked mirth; it is truly an effective tale. Recommend for those who find 120 days of Sodom to be too wordy, or perhaps someone who read Survivor and hated it because of various, yet obvious, reasons.
