New York Times, USA Today, and #1 International bestselling author K. M. Moronova has enjoyed telling dreary stories as far as she can remember. She adores reading and writing dark-themed, romantic books with plot twists and emotional turns. Often, she is found drying flowers in her study or drinking tea while relaxing in her garden. She loves spending time with her partner, exploring the forest, and envisioning more devastating stories to tell.
From authors insta: Enemies to lovers, Small town dark military romance, but he's the lieutenant on an undercover squad and literally tries to run her out of town... Bulletproof is a dark military romance standalone in the Dark Forces universe that will have Booktok absolutely feral.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom for the ARC!!! I was invested in the story of Briar!! Roman is so morally black. The story follows Briar who has to move to Bane Falls by her uncle who passed away. She gets to the farm and has to go through everything. When she gets to the farm, someone is casing the place. She leaves and goes to the local diner where a biker crew comes in and starts some shit. Roman comes in and tries to get her to leave town. She is stubborn and doesn’t want to leave. So she stays and gets involved in a very dark part of the world. When we lost someone, I was so sad! I liked them! The twist towards the end, I wasn’t expecting that! I loved this story and cannot wait to add a physical copy on my shelf!!
A bit different angle than usual Moronova’s style 😁 It was a bit strange cause naturally, I am comparing this book to DF duet and LMB but I like Bulletproof more than the DF duet. Please don’t come for me 😆
I READ THIS IN 1 DAY! Finished at midnight. I could not stop, once I started!!
1. MANY HOT MMCs. This may be my most favorite squad yet!! 2. The pacing was 🔥🔥 it kept my attention the entire time and I did NOT want to put it down
3. A little bit of a bully romance moment. Typical I’m bad for her so I’m going to be cruel so she leaves me alone. Newsflash. THAT DOESNT WORK _____________________
I forget time. I forget that we are wrong for each other. I don’t fucking care. _____________________
I devoured this book in 24 hours. If you loved the other Dark Forces books, you will enjoy Bulletproof just as much. It’s dark, spicy and such a fun read.
Thank you NetGalley and the SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC of Bulletproof by K.M. Moronova, to be published on 26th of April 2026.
I want to start by saying that K.M. Moronova is my auto-buy author and I read all the books in the Dark Forces universe and unfortunately Bulletproof just didn’t hit the spot for me.
First 50% of the book was really difficult to get through, extremely cringe, rushed and full of plot holes. It would definitely benefit from some extra editing, a lot of repetition of certain words (“casing” & “crotch rocket” were just some that I remember). The second half picked up a bit and redeemed itself, therefore I bumped the final rating to 3⭐️ (and I’m thinking I’m being generous but there were some parts that I liked and I even shed a tear).
The FMC, Briar, was really irritating and her behaviour was really questionable, she came across as bratty and generally insufferable. By chapter 3 she was salivating and clenching her thighs over 6(!) guys. Considering she was almost killed by her ex and supposedly had trauma because of that she was very quick to trust every guy she met and blushing at every attention she has been given. Also she tried to play hard but ended up being a pushover with no moral spine.
Roman, the MMC, apparently has a very dark past that we only get glimpses of, but he is being a total jerk towards Briar for no reason. The nickname given was just another level of cringe. Also kept calling the FMC “whore” (or “whoreton”?!?!?) to push her away and I thought that was just a bit extreme and also juvenile. They both play this push and pull game and lie to each other but then get mad that the other person is keeping secrets 🙄
The spicy scenes, especially the first one were extremely cringe and the commentary during that scene made me roll my eyes so bad it hurt.
Some of the plot twists were good but some just didn’t add up because of the plot holes. Like whole dark forces squad spilling secrets about their operation to FMC shortly after meeting her but few days before they were trying to run her out of town? Also, I wish we got more insight into the Bulletproof soldier concept it had so much potential but we really got nothing 🙈 I was waiting for the ending to hit but I got nothing but disappointment 🥲
Overall, the book felt rushed and was full of plot holes, cringe dialogue and bad spicy scenes. It had potential but unfortunately it didn’t deliver and it’s my least favourite from the whole Dark Forces universe.
As always with K.M. Moronova books…I DEVOURED THIS
4.25⭐️
The thing I love most about K.M. Moronova books is the depth of the characters. We feel we really know them and I personally always get emotionally attached to them.
Briar has a traumatised past and is set on selling her late uncles property and getting out of the country. I did quite like Briar. She isn’t like the FMC in other Dark Forces books, in that she isn’t actively involved in them. Roman is part of the Dark Forces. He is one of their experiments and is quite literally(as the title puts it) bulletproof. Roman is stoic and cold and the lieutenant of his squad. But with Briar he is actually so sweet and I love him. He sees that they’re more alike than he initially thought and has such a soft spot for her. I know it’s a dark romance…but it’s adorable. I honestly always find myself having a soft spot for K.M. Moronova’s MMCs, I don’t know what that says about me but yeah! I love love love them.
Their relationship has a whole push and pull dynamic. This is really an enemies to lovers and I love it. They had cute moments, deranged ones, emotional ones, banter filled ones, ones that had me kicking my feet, spicy ones, anything under the sun really.
The secondary characters were also perfection. There wasn’t too many of them, so it wasn’t overwhelming. They all played a crucial part and we could find ourselves getting attached to them. So when stuff happened…yeah.
I don’t want to say much about the plot but there was so many twists, turns and deceptions. Especially, I want to say the last hundred pages, my jaw was dropped. I couldn’t. I loved it in the best way but it also made me gagged. I did NOT expect the major twist.
I love also how there’s snippets/connections to the other Dark Forces books. It’s so nice to see more of the world throughout each book.
This book, as always with K.M. Moronova books, are so well written. The writing has an emotional depth to it and there’s always something happening. I can literally never put down one of her books and this one is no exception. I was so engrossed with every single page.
For me personally, Bulletproof hasn’t quite been my favourite book in the Dark Forces world. Emery and Cameron’s books definitely still are but honestly that’s VERY hard to top. They are literally the loves of my life. But I still LOVED this book, definitely!!
The only thing I’ll say is that the of end their story did feel a little unfinished. It is a standalone so I wish we got a conclusion or something to show them in the future. But I am hoping we’ll see them or get nods to them in the next book(s).
Thank you so SO much to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Let me start by saying that K. M. Moronova is one of my favorite authors. The first book I read by her was The Fabric of Our Souls two years ago. I gave Leave Me Behind 5 stars, but unfortunately, I barely made it through this book.
FMC Briar is on the run from her ex, who almost killed her. She’s traumatized, yet why does she feel sexual attraction and butterflies in her stomach for literally every man who touches her? Is that really how a girl in her situation would feel?
MMC Roman—there’s almost nothing known about him, except that he’s a lieutenant in the Icarus Squad and likes to cut himself, turning old scars into new, “more beautiful” ones.
Roman bullies Briar—because he thinks it’s better for her? He calls her “Squirt” (yes, exactly what you think) and “whore,” and instead of getting offended, the heroine blushes and spreads her legs for him.
The intimate scenes are a whole other story. I feel like the author wanted to impress the reader, but it came off as cringeworthy. She squirts during every orgasm… and Roman has a breeding kink, and they have unprotected sex because it’s her “safe week.” What? There was only passion between them, not love.
Of course, there are moments that should make the reader empathize, but I felt nothing.
After reading this book, I even went back to Leave Me Behind, and it felt so much stronger to me. The main characters had a real reason to hate each other, we knew at least a bit about their pasts, and Nell stood up to Bones and got offended when he called her Bunny. I understand that these two heroines are completely different, but in this book, it felt like everyone was just walking all over Briar.
I know K. M. Moronova’s upcoming releases are fantasy series, but I really hope she writes something similar to The Fabric of Our Souls again.
𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: ✓military romance ✓dark romance ✓enemies to lovers ✓forced proximity
Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books (Bloom Books) for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Nobody writes a beautifully broken and emotionally complex character like KM Moronova. Characters that may seem unlovable at first glance but who really long to be embraced for who they are - darkness and all. But that’s what makes her love stories so powerful, because what’s more romantic than seeing past the flaws and truly loving somebody for who they are? Absolutely nothing.
Roman may be her coldest mmc yet. He’s mean, with a capital M, and he pushes Briar away with everything he has. Like all the Dark Forces mc’s he starts his story with his humanity long forgotten, but Briar slowly starts to chip away at his armor and his cruel ways start to melt into a sweetness that was very much unexpected. But his journey is slow and requires patience - and the understanding that this love story doesn’t necessarily erase the darkness from these characters, but allows them to embrace it together instead.
While we do get a new setting away from a military base for this one, the amount of action is still very much on par with the rest of the Dark Forces books. High stakes, brushes with death, and deadly secrets are at every turn and I loved that this was somehow so different from the previous books while also feeling so similar in the ways I hoped for. And of course KM managed to tie things together in diabolical way, once again, and left this open for more in the future.
What you can expect: •𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 •𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 •𝗙𝗺𝗰 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗻 •𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 •𝗧𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀/𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀/ 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘀 •𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 •𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 •𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗽
K.M. Moronova does something to my brain chemistry with these broken, morally gray men.
Roman Syxx is not your soft, redeemable MMC. He is cold. Cruel. Mean with a capital M. Built to be a weapon… not a man.
And Briar?
She walks straight into his world while running from her own, thinking she’s finally found somewhere safe… when in reality, she’s stepped into something even more dangerous.
What I loved most is that this story does NOT try to fix these characters.
It lets them be dark. Damaged. Messy. And instead of healing each other in a pretty, perfect way… they learn how to exist in that darkness together.
That push and pull between them? Addictive. The tension? Constant. The emotional payoff? Worth every second.
Roman’s journey is slow. Painfully slow. You have to be patient with him, but watching those cracks form in his armor and seeing glimpses of something softer underneath? That’s the magic.
And even though this shifts into a small town setting, don’t get it twisted. This is still high stakes, action packed, and full of deadly secrets, missions, and twists that keep you on edge the entire time.
My favorite part was how everything connects back to the bigger Dark Forces world. The reveals? Slightly unhinged. I ate it up.
Tropes & vibes: 🖤 Dark military romance 🏔 Small town setting 🏃♀️ FMC on the run 🔥 Bully romance ⚔️ Black ops energy 🧠 Mental health rep 🫶 Found family
Read this if you like: Morally gray MMCs who don’t apologize, intense emotional push and pull, and dark romance that leans fully into the chaos
This series just keeps getting better and more unhinged… and I will be here for every single book.
I’ve read all the Dark Forces books so far and absolutely devoured them, but for some reason this one didn’t hit the same. I’m not sure if it’s because Briar is kinda bratty or because Roman does this push and pull thing, but I just wasn’t super vibing with their relationship. Like, Briar was panting over any good-looking guy who flirted with her, and when they hook up, Roman admits to preferring raw-dogging it and never pulling out because he’s got a breeding kink, so it’s insinuated that it’s supposed to be the girl’s responsibility to be on birth control? What disease is he carrying? How many babies does he have out in the world? And Briar who was panting after Roman’s friend all of a sudden is hot for the guy who calls her a whore and is down for unprotected sex because the timing is right? And while I understand the experimentation done on Roman, I still don’t fully understand the point of Project Lethe. Yea, she’s a sleeper who was reprogrammed multiple times, but for what? Is it like Marvel’s Bucky who when a specific phrase is spoken will unlock an assassin? I’m just so confused.
I did like the plot twist with her ex who tried to kill her. And this whole mysterious flash drive Briar was supposed to recover was driving me crazy wondering what info was on it. The obscurity of it throughout the whole book kept me hooked that I devoured this in one sitting. I was so excited for this book: I literally woke up Thursday morning, went straight to NetGalley to download the ARC before brushing my teeth and get ready for work. Then after work read straight through till I finished around midnight. I was a bit letdown, ngl. But I will ready anything this author puts out.
I received this ARC from NetGalley and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I feel as a reader who doesn't normally trend toward dark romance or modern stories, K.M. Moronova is the perfect level of dark, deranged romance, and story telling for me. This book is a wild adventure that brings two broken people together. The spice is SPICING, and of course, the story is dark. Both characters have a traumatic past, and they find their home in each other.
I love the Icarus squad members, and I think they round out the Briar and Roman's story well. This is an entertaining and quick read, but I do find that some of the plot points lack a little logical reasoning. I also found the reveals a bit convoluted in that the explanations either didn't make sense, or I couldn't figure out what some of the characters underlying motives were for their behaviors. I also think Briar, with consideration of being almost killed in her past, way too trusting of strange men and women. She also came off in the beginning as thinking mostly with her libido, when she should be more wary. There other thing that stood out to me was that in the early part of the book, the men in the Icarus squad would often be described as having their face flushed or reddened based on the events going on, but their characters weren't fleshed out enough to really determine their emotions (i.e. was it embarrassment, agitation, being turned on, etcetera?). Similarly, other characters throughout the book would have implied emotions or facial expressions, which were difficult to interpret because they needed more and consistent character development.
Aside from that, I would consider this book a good, guilty pleasure read.
From the world of Dark Forces, we follow a new squad. Icarus. Led by Roman Syxx. Roman’s squad has been assigned to Bane Falls where they’ll live among civilians as they try to complete their mission. And when Roman receives intel that a package is coming that he must intercept, he never expects that package to be a woman. Briar has been running for months now from the man who tried to kill her. Her goal is to lay low and keep moving. Earn enough money then get out of the country. And when she hears that her uncle has passed and the estate is left to her, she can’t help but feel hopeful that this will be a safe place to lay low and get the cash she needs. But the moment she steps into town, she realizes this place may be more dangerous than where she was running from. Briar has stepped into something way bigger than her and yet somehow, she is connected. Roman tries to get her to leave but she stubbornly stays and now he has to keep her there. It’s push and pull between the two of them, discovering secrets about one another and trying to survive. But there are more secrets buried than either of them every imagined. I have to say this series does a really good job of throwing in some last minute twists and turns. It definitely keeps you on your toes. Expect the dark, military romance this world has been known for. And with the way this one ends, I’m really looking forward to see what could be coming next!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW. K.M. Your brain is just brilliant in how you write. It’s mesmerizing and tells beautiful stories, so thank you for these books. I’ve loved everything about the dark forces series and they keep getting better every time. If I didn’t have to be a mom during the day I would have stayed up all night to finish it.
I wasn’t sure where K.M. Was going to take us with this one and honestly where we went was surprising but also hot and sexy.
The take she did with this was so different from the others. In all the other books, both our FMC and MMC have been in the dark forces already. In this one to have our FMC Briar not be in the dark forces but our MMC Roman be in was just a completely different take. Seeing how they work through the fact that no one can know who they are but she naturally just keeps getting close due to circumstances with her “uncle”.
The twists within this were laid so perfectly that I suspected something but then wasn’t fully sure.
The relationship Briar gains with the whole squad is so special and it makes deaths in this book so painful. The emotions I got made me feel like I was back to reading The Fabric of our Souls since those characters tore me apart.
Everything surrounding the ending was so unexpected that I’m so excited and intrigued to see how this continues to play out for the rest of these books.
Again amazing read by K.M.!
Thank you NetGalley and K.M. For giving me the opportunity to ARC read such a special book!

Big thank you to NetGalley and K.M. Moronova for the ARC! I was so excited to be able to read this one early. Rating five stars from me for the story + vibes. I was really hyped up for this one, and it delivered. I cannot wait to read it again.
Now, I am a Bunny x Bones girlie until the end of time, but I adored Briar and Roman. So much so that this book might be tied for my favorite in the series.
One thing I really enjoy about K.M. Moronova's characters is their duality. Briar has been through it (GOD THE END). Roman, I don't know if I want to deck him or hug him. The squad in this one was so much fun. I adored the banter between them. The spicy moments in this book? I had to open a window. The tension and build-up before you finally get there, plus when you do, amazing. I ate it up.
While this is technically a standalone, I am a major nerd and I love the threads that tie this universe together. I know that may not be a draw for everyone, but being able to get invested emotionally in the world itself beyond the characters really elevates my ability to enjoy the book I'm reading. It's easily one of my favorite aspects of this series.
The ending to me felt very well-crafted and justified. The twists, the turns, the need I have for another installment in the series... I could go on; I cannot wait until this is available to everyone to start engaging in conversations about it.
Moronova knows how to delivery a dark military romance. &I know every time I pick one up from her, I’m going to have a good time.
That being said, even though I binged this one in one sitting, I think I wanted a bit more. I really like Roman as our MMC and how the dark forces has changed him emotionally/physically. Our FMC Briar I was kind of on the fence about. I thought her background was interesting. However, she went through this huge trauma with her ex but then anytime she sees a man, she finds them attractive. It felt a little contradictory. The twist at the end with her was kind of a let down to me. It didn’t really make sense to me for her to be in that position (without giving too much away). My only other little qualm was the nickname…”Squirt”. I was able to read it without getting the cringe every single time but it is still cringy imo.
But look, overall, ya know ya girl is going to continue to read these as soon as they drop and try and get my grubby hands on the arcs. The writing is great, spice is always 🔥, and the characters emotionally complex & devastatingly beautiful. So really, I can’t complain.
Thank you so so much to Sourcebooks/Bloom Books and Netgalley for the eARC!!
What to Expect: ✨Dark Military Romance ✨Dual POV ✨Small Town ✨Bullying
Order of Favs #1 Leave Me Behind #2 Dark Forces Duet #3 Bulletproof
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy of Bulletproof in exchange for my honest review.
I’ve really enjoyed all of the Dark Forces books, and Your Knife, My Heart is still my favorite (I just love Cam and Emery), so I was excited to read Bulletproof. At this point, K.M. Moronova really hasn’t failed me yet.
This was a really fun and engaging read for me, I honestly ate this book up. The pacing kept me interested, and the tension definitely builds, especially toward the end. The final chapters had my heart racing, and I found myself flying through the last part of the book, mouth agape!
One thing I appreciated right away is how different this story feels from the rest of the series, while still connecting back in a way that makes sense. It keeps things fresh and doesn’t feel repetitive, which I always look for in a series.
At times, I did wish for a bit more depth in certain moments or character development, as a few parts felt slightly rushed compared to others. That said, it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.
Overall, Bulletproof is a strong addition to the series that brings something new while still tying everything together. If you’ve been following Dark Forces, this is definitely worth picking up.
I adore the fact that each book in KM Moronova's Dark Forces series ties into each other, yet creates a whole new set of characters with their own unfathomable origin stories! Each new story is unique and dark with a surpise ending I never guess right.
This truly felt more like the trope 'enemies to lovers' than other stories I've read. Maybe it's my love for bad boys, but I love how dark and tortured KM's MMCs are! As with many soldiers in the Dark Forces, Roman was yet another experiment and was put through his own hell in the process. He's a perfect combination of brooding jerk and compassionate lover that makes you love him in the story.
Although, I found the previous FMCs in the Dark Forces series to be stronger and more combat-ready than Briar, I did NOT predict her story and had a huge change of heart once I learned more, which is what leads me to hope there is another book in the series explaining more of her background.
I hope KM is enjoying writing these military romances as much as I've enjoyed devouring them, and I hope, by writing that ending.. there could be more to come?
I feel like I say this all the time but I'm going to say it again... I am just IN LOVE with K.M. Moronova's artwork. ITS STUNNING!!!!!!!!!! and makes me want to buy every book she puts out
This was such a unique read! Unlike anything I have read before and I couldn't put it down dark military romance between an emotionally unavailable military lieutenant and a woman who I just trying to sell her deceased uncle's estate.... what could they possibly have in common?!
their paths cross unexpectantly at a diner where Briar is bluntly introduced to the Icarus Squad and they want her out of town like.... yesterday. Especially the grumpy, cold, lieutenant named Roman Syxx
their darkness really calls to each other until secrets begin to pour out... leading them to question if this will end in love or a higher deceased body count?
I loved this! I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished it this one will stay with me for quite some time I'm excited to see where this series goes next!
Returning to the Dark Forces world felt like coming home. This story is a breathtaking ride that you’ll want to devour in one sitting. It’s fast-paced, and bleeding with action, secrets, passion and traumas.
Briar is such a sweet protagonist despite her difficult past. Watching her find her place within the Icarus Squad was incredibly moving; the bond she forms with the team truly warmed my heart. And then there’s Roman... I adored how he and Briar fall in love, accepting each other completely, scars and all.
Also, a huge shout-out to the curated playlist! Roman and I share the same hype song: Titanium by Sia. It fits the vibe of this book perfectly.
Being able to read an ARC of my favorite author’s new book was a dream come true.
Tropes:

📅 Publication Date: April 28th Thank you to @kmmoronova @netgalley @read_bloom for providing this ARC.
Firstly I want to say THANK YOU so much for my ARC copy from NetGalley (I got it on the read now and started it immediately).
She’s done it again!!!! I absolutely love the world KM has created with the Dark Forces. I have loved every book so far and Bulletproof is another to add to the list.
I loved Briar, her sass and her resilience (even if I questioned some of her choices). Roman was a foul mouthed tortured soul who I of course ended up with a soft spot for (yes I need therapy). I loved their banter and they had me laughing out loud.
As always the last few chapters had me clutching my pearls and I was turning the pages like a madwoman. You never know what is coming towards the end and I love it.
The only feedback I will add is that I wanted to know more about Romans background and more about him getting in the dark forces, i also wanted to know more about Briar (IYKYK) I appreciate only so much can be done with a standalone but I was desperate to find out who the underworld boss was too, although I’m hoping there is more to come in the DF world!!!!!

A woman on the run from a dark past, and a man who is living in the darkness.
I loved Briar. Her trauma and resilience drive her and she's such a fighter, even when she feels like giving up. Roman is exactly what I love in a MMC, he's haunted by his darkness but unwavering in his obsession with Briar.
Overall, the story was great, it was quick, filled with action and had me glued to the page. As the story progressed, I absolutely fell in love with the side characters, as is expected with a Moronova story.
What I didn't like was our FMCs nickname. The first few times I kinda shrugged it off as them trying to get under her skin but the longer they kept calling her squirt the worse of an Ick I had. Ew. Just ew.
Briars plot twist was good, though I did find myself expecting that to be her case. She was always just too....accepting or naiive. I didn't dislike it, it simply didn't wow me.
That said, overall Moronova continues to be a great writer and story teller. I enjoyed this installment in her dark forces stories and will pick up whatever comes next.
Is this book GOOD? Meh. Is it so entertaining and I can’t put it down? Absolutely. I don’t even have words to describe this book. I feel I’m still processing it myself, but I legit could not put it down.
I think the style is slightly wattpad? But once you get past that, it’s actual crack. For this type of book to keep me up reading is insanity. It definitely had me questioning things about myself. I didn’t feel it was a realistic book by any means, but again, if you’re reading for the vibes it’s a hit. Parts were repetitive, or jumped where I was kind of confused what was happening.
I didn’t feel any real connection between briar and Roman, they just had passion and were hot.
All of this being said, this is a book I definitely have to be in the mood for, which I was. It’s not for everyone, but if you want a dark, bully romance with lots of smut, she’s a good time.
Moronova is an auto-read author for me, and this book was one of my most anticipated reads this spring. As soon as I read the summary, I was obsessed with the setting and the concept of the story.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried, I could not, for the life of me, grow to like these characters. The way they behaved felt so incredibly juvenile and corny that it took a toll on the reading experience as a whole. Not to mention *that* nickname… Are you joking?
I almost gave this 2 stars, but I actually liked the ending and the plot twist a lot.
These characters were definitely not written for me, but the story itself was very interesting, and I know I’ll keep reading anything and everything this author publishes.
*dark military Romannce *enemies to lovers *small town *undercover project
I absolutely devoured this book up, Roman is the moody lieutenant MMC who is the dark forces weapon in this instalment, Briar is the FMC on the run from her troubled past and an opportunity lands in her lap that she thinks will help solve her problems.. Roman tries to run Briar out of town but with all of K.Ms FMCs there is no way Briar is letting a man push her around ever again.
The spice is the book is just enough with the plot, the rest of the squad are great characters and the same as all of the Dark Forces books I just want to punch General Nolan in the face.
I can’t wait to see where we go next in the Dark Forces.
