When enemies are forced to play nice, sparks fly—and nothing’s safe, not even their hearts.
She’s stubborn. He’s infuriating. And neither of them has ever backed down from a challenge. Now they’ve got to team up—or tear the whole town apart trying.
Autumn Hood spent her whole life tangling with Pete Wolfe. Her neighbor, her childhood rival, and her personal headache in scuffed-up boots and a cocky grin.
Pete Wolfe finds Autumn Hood stubborn, sharp-tongued, and always three seconds away from hurling a horseshoe at his head. But there’s something about the way she challenges him that attracts him to the cowgirl next door.
And the longer they butt heads, the more the tension sizzles into something they can’t ignore. Something’s starting to change between them. Something special. Something risky.
Love wasn't part of the plan… but trouble sure is.
This was a cute romance, but I didn't love it. I read this as a standalone, and maybe some parts of the story would have made more sense if I had read the first book. There was a random mention of a haunted inn and a lonely ghost that seemed out of place.
Easy read of Auburn and Pete who had been competitive since they were 5. It took some interventions from family members to get them on the same page. Glad I won this book on Goodreads
Auburn had red hair and the first disposition to go with it. Pere was the boy she fought with all her life. But, when they had to work together on a town project something changed.
This was such a sweet wholesome read. The history between the MCs and the change in their relationship was absolutely lovely to experience. And the growth of each one was lovely to see. Their banter as well was quite entertaining.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who'd like a pallet cleanser or simply enjoy small town romance stories.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book as an Arc from Net Galley. It was a great story of the importance that sometimes as parents we don't tell our kids how proud we are of them. Red lived her who live trying to outdo Pete due to something her dad told her but not to diminish her light. I liked how Red slowly started letting her guard down and saw Pete for the first time as just someone who could understand her and root her at the same time. Pete has always been liked Red and given the chance to finally be with Red, he takes his shot. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading Sunrise Ridge Book 1 and Book 3 when it comes out.
I struggled with Auburn’s nasty and aggressive attitude towards Pete. What has he ever done to deserve such rudeness? I put this book down for a while as she annoyed me so much. Turns out she has daddy issues. This all turns out to be a misunderstanding that has gone on years but has caused her competitive attitude. Pete was better, though he had some snark too. It all ends well but I just wasn’t invested in these two. I did like getting Goldi and Luke’s wedding in this. Read through KU.
Red and Pete have been competing against each other since they were children. Now they barely tolerate each other. But all that changes when they are put in charge of this years steeplechase race. Romantic, steamy
An enemies to lovers romance, the story of Red and Pete, forced to spend time together to plan a steeplechase in their town. I liked the setting and how it was told from both points of view.Looking forward to the next books in this series.
