Every little girl wants a prince to come and save them, but what happens when your prince comes with Devil’s horns?
Fliss Waller isn’t looking for too much. Just a perfectly hot guy who can handle her sexy curves in the bedroom as well as hold a decent conversation. When undercover cop, Jon Wilde strolls into her life, with his intense eyes and perfectly tattooed body she can’t believe her luck. Not only is Jon smoldering hot, he’s got a dangerous edge that makes everything more exciting.
But when does exciting turn dangerous? Jon refuses to talk about what he’s done on his last assignment, but Fliss wonders, how bad can it be? The reality of who Jon really is will turn her world upside down and change her life forever. Is her love for him strong enough to endure the storm?
Two things about this book: one was the setting. This was supposed to take place mostly in Denver, Colorado, but the word choice and dialect didn't seem appropriate. Seemed like the character was British rather than English. The other thing was I loathe cliffhangers. Usually, a cliff hanger will prevent me from purchasing any additional books in the series. And based on the reviews, it seems like the third book was a cliffhanger with no book four in sight. A little disappointing since, I sorta like the relationship between Fliss (Jo) and Jon.
This dynamic story just goes to show the depths to which one will go in the name of love. When pub chef Fliss meets bad boy cop Jon the attraction is immediate, and the two are convinced that they are meant to be. However, Jon comes with the kind of damage and danger that would drive many people away from him. Therefore, Fliss has to decide if her feelings for Jon are enough of a reason to stay with him or if she should let him go. This well written book is filled with fully developed, fleshed out characters that take the reader along with them for the ride, and the ending leaves you clinging to the edge of your seat anxious to know what comes next. I must move on to part two now!
I didnt finish this book due to really annoying unreasonable issues that doesnt even make sense. I should have given it a lower rate, but I liked the way the characters behaved and it was quite funny. They were both open to each other, and kinky. The author didn't really put too much detail in the sex scenes, it did on some but was still lacking.
What I thought was a little absurd was when the MC guy got mad and the girl was just asking questions, it was really sudden and it didn't make sense to me how he got furious so fast like that. And when he explained why, his explanation or what he did was cliche for me. I know its a story but I cant help but feel that its a little overrated.
A good quick read that kept me interested but by the end it turned out not to be my bag. I don't want to give away any spoilers but the genre the book morphed into is one that I'm not keen on, other than that it was enjoyable.
Finally finished the book. It took me a long time to finish this one. Read 5 books in between this one. I really didn't get into it like I have other books. Will not be continuing on in this series.
