She eliminates men who deserve it. He's her next target. The only problem? He refuses to die.
Jiya Kline has mastered the art of the permanent goodbye: seduce, poison, problem solved. But her latest target, the infuriatingly gorgeous Calloway Frost, keeps surviving her best efforts. When her luck finally runs out and the police close in, she discovers her would-be victim might be her only hope for survival.
Calloway Frost is an artist of death, and as the notorious Gallery Killer, his world is one of obsessive control. He never planned for Jiya, the chaotic, pink-haired bartender trying to make him her masterpiece. He should eliminate the beautiful distraction, but finds himself captivated instead. So when Jiya's world comes crashing down, he’s ready to burn the world to the ground to protect her.
Now with the law breathing down her neck and nowhere left to run, Jiya must trust the very man she's been trying to eliminate. Because when your only ally is your intended victim, survival gets complicated fast—and falling for him might be the most dangerous mistake of all.
If you crave dark romance with body counts, bartenders who mix lethal cocktails, and gallery openings that double as crime scenes, this wickedly deadly story will leave you breathless, literally.
The Hemlock Society continues and we finally get Calloway’s story!
Calloway and Jiya, when two serial killers collide and one person is the mark for the other. I’m loving this series so far. All the members of the society are hilarious. Who would have thought I’d be laughing during a murder scene?
I will say that X Marks the Stalker is still the winning book of this series but this story was a close second. It’s hard to beat Xander and Oakley as their banter was top tier. While I loved Calloway and Jiya, I was giddy every time Xander or Oakley joined a scene.
I looked forward to reading the rest of the series as they release and adding these books to my shelves.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️.5/5 📚 Book #2 in the "Hemlock Society" series, can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading in order 📕 X Marks The Stalker 🗣️ Dual POV 🔫 Check Trigger Warnings 🔪 Serial Un-alivers 🖤 M/F
Its time for Calloway & Jiya's story!!! We first meet Calloway in Xander & Oakley's story [X marks The Stalker] and imo thats where we fall in "like" with him. We get to see more of his "fun loving" artistic side in that book. He's a great addition to their story and we learn just enough about him and his antics to want more of him.
In his and Jiya's story we obviously learn more about him, and his past that was eluded to in the first book, but its really not a revelation in any way as you can pretty much guess from the first book. It was a bit anti climatic which is why I think it wasnt a huge part of the book. Most of Calloway and Jiya's story is about Jiya's revenge and him coming to terms with his capability to love someone when he thought that wasnt in the cards for him.
The banter was great, but its not the same as Xander and Oakleys. Its darker, a little more unhinged if you will. While I do like both books, I do feel that Calloways book is a darker book than Xanders. I also kinda wished there was more Oakley and Jiya crossover seeing as Calloway and Xander are such good friends.
I enjoyed getting to see more of Lazlo, Thorne and Darius...and the setup for the next book which I believe is Lazlo's story 🤔 which come on, thats going to be FILLED with laughs since Lazlo is a hypochondriac 😂
Tropes: 🔪 Enemies to Lovers 🖤 Serial Killer Society 🔪 Murder as Foreplay 🖤 Bartender x Artist 🔪 Found Family 🖤 Grumpy x Sunshine 🔪 Touch Her And Die
Calloway is a photographer and gallery owner who leads a secret double life as a serial killer targeting people from the art world who happen to be pedophiles. He stages his crime scenes in the style of various famous artists, which earned him the nickname Gallery Killer. Jiya is also a killer who tracks down people who managed to escape punishment for their crimes. She eventually figures out who Calloway is and decides to kill him, although she cannot ignore the undeniable attraction between them or the fact that Calloway does not resemble a typical predator.
Jiya chose the path of a vigilante after the man who killed her roommate faced no consequences. She starts stalking Calloway, and the whole situation begins to feel like a sitcom. Every attempt she makes to kill him falls apart for one reason or another. Calloway looks like a cold Scandinavian god but inside he is a deeply wounded man who secretly loves early 2000s guilty-pleasure pop hits. His murders are not just about justice, they’re also his way of reclaiming control over his life. Their backstories may be familiar to fans of dark rom-coms, but everything here worked perfectly for me.
My favorite part of the book is the Hemlock Society meetings. Their banter and jokes are priceless, and I would happily read an entire book focused only on them. It was also great to see Xander and Oakley again, especially Xander pretending not to worry about Calloway. They are my favorite duo ❤️
This story feels different from X Marks the Stalker. It is darker, and there is a fairly long scene of disposing of a body, including dismemberment, and even a bowling game using severed heads. Sure, it’s grisly, but that’s part of the genre, and it’s handled with a strange kind of flair. On the bright side, you will also encounter a very territorial beaver mafia. I laughed out loud during that scene, and Don Beaver-leone now lives rent-free in my head.
Among the drawbacks, I can’t help but point out that Jiya somehow doesn’t know that the Gallery Killer murders pedophiles, since he leaves clues pointing to his victims’ crimes. And, of course, the fact that, as usual, trauma is healed by "magic pussy".
The book drops on January 15, 2026, and trust me, it will absolutely chase away your post-holiday gloom.

Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that was just released today called, Knife to Meet You. This story is about Jiya, she's a bartender who moonlights as a temptress luring very bad men to their deaths. Her weapon of choice? Untraceable poisons. Her next target is Calloway, but he's the target that refuses to die. Calloway is an artist but he's also a serial killer, known as The Gallery Killer. What Jiya thinks will be another simple kill by taking out Calloway, ends up with him surviving her multiple attempts and her starting to fall for him as she's attempting to take him out. They end up forming an unlikely connection and as much as they try to resist the chemistry between them is just undeniable. Both Jiya and Calloway felt broken and alone because of traumas in their past, so they're each trying to make the world a better place in their own way. And along the way they end up finding each other, the one person who truly sees them and understands them. I loved this story! This is book 2 in the Hemlock Society series. This was such a great dark romcom! (Make sure to check trigger warnings.) This story doesn't shy away from some dark and difficult topics, but it's written in a way that has these characters tugging at your heartstrings and keeps you laughing throughout the story. If you're a fan of dark romcoms like The Ruinous Love trilogy, then you will love this series! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book! 💙📚
Thank you to the author and her team for this ARC of Knife to Meet You, in exchange for an honest review.
I was so happy to receive an ARC copy of this book! While it didn't quite live up to the first book (which is usually the case for me), it was a great follow up! I loved the banter between Jiya and Calloway. I loved learning more about Calloways character as well.
I devoured this book in a single, breathless sitting and loved every unhinged, brilliant second of it, laugh-out-loud funny with razor-sharp, dry humor that felt tailor-made for my soul, while somehow also packing an emotional punch straight to the chest. Watching Jiya, a bartender by day and secret executioner of the deserving by night repeatedly attempt to kill her next target, the infamous Gallery Killer, only for everything to go catastrophically wrong every single time was pure, chaotic perfection, especially as she wrestles with the wildly inconvenient fact that she’s irresistibly attracted to him. And Callaway Frost? An artist in every sense, even in murder measured, principled, and deadly in the name of justice, who knows better than to let anyone close, yet can’t seem to escape Jiya’s orbit no matter how hard he tries. Coincidence? Fate? Or is someone actually trying to kill him? In this line of work, paranoia is just good business. Beneath the gore, the chaos, and the wicked humor, this story quietly delivers something achingly tender: the reminder that even the most broken, morally skewed souls are worthy of love and that the right person will look at all your sharp edges and think, perfect. Equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and deliciously dark, this is exactly how a love story should be told. Five stars, full stop and yes, check those trigger warnings, because this one gets gloriously gory.
I got the arc from booksprout and this is my honest review :)
I was happy to read it because I already liked the first one :) I liked that the story was diffrent from the first but kept the funny banter between the characters :) I would recommand this book to all who like fun reads with serial killer vibes :)
After I read X Marks the Stalker, I said I wanted a book about Calloway and here it is! Well, Calloway and Jiya 🤣
Jiya takes down bad men, and Calloway is a bad man and she wants him dead. But he just won’t die. And a good thing too, because he isn’t the bad man she thinks he is. Her usual MO of poisoning fails her and she has to get creative, but when she does, that goes balls up too and leads to the members of The Hemlock Society uncovering her identity. Calloway is grappling with his feelings towards her after discovering her murder plan for him, but when he finally goes all in, she’s taken from him. Will Hemlock be able to save her? I smashed this book out in a day. It is such a nice easy read. Add in amazingly descriptive murders, hilarious banter, sarcasm, the Beaver mafia, all my beloved characters from book one and this book is a super fun read.
I am never going to be able to look at a fruit advertisement the same again though!
Now I wait with crossed fingers that the book is released with sprayed edges to match the first book, because that’s what Thorne would want.
3.5 ⭐️This book was fun and lighthearted, if your idea of lighthearted includes vigilante serial killers who treat murder like foreplay while falling for each other. The chemistry works, the concept is entertaining, and it’s an easy, fast read with a little (okay, a lot of) murder.
Calloway is a photographer whose vengeance is rooted in the child abuse he survived; he hunts predators and literally turns them into art. Jiya poisons rapists who got away with their crimes after avenging her roommate. Together, they’re twisted in a way that somehow works.
The Hemlock Society was a fun element, but we didn’t get any real insight into who the next book will focus on, which felt like a missed opportunity. I liked the first book more overall, but this one was still enjoyable.
All in all, it’s a solid, easy read—dark romance, vigilante justice, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
This book is suspenseful and keeps you on your toes. I enjoyed the first book and this book did not disappoint.
I enjoyed that the traume of the main characters is not the main focus and you get just enough detail to understand the characters while still enjoying the comedy of the book.
Calloway Frost is swoon worthy and Jiya Kline is the a an amazing fierce, smart and strong FMC.
The timeline and dialogue can be difficult to follow at times, but it does not take away from the story or the plot.
Love the spice with a plot line. Can’t wait for the next book! The amazing development of the side characters keeps me excited about the additional books. I need more Lazlo, Darius, and Thorne!!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed X Marks the Stalker for all its dark humour. I worried Calloway wouldn’t hit parts of my dark soul like Xander… 👀.
I like Jiya, Calloway and the book just as much but for different reasons. This books humour was more quick dark wit, double means and clever/intelligent inside jokes. With all the darkness and intelligence came an endearing quality that Calloway and Jiya both had, despite being multiple deleter’s, but can be missing when you have characters who are a little more aloof and calculating.
The spice is spicing, it’s romance, about serial killers. Spice is meant to be spicing.
The writing is amazing, such an easy read and a good/natural flow.
Bring on book 3.

Usually the second book in a series isn't nearly as good for some reason, however, that was not the case here. Which I am THRILLED about. I absolutely LOVE Jiya and Calloway. And I was a hater of Calloway in book one. Now I think I love him more than I loved Xander, and I definitely love Jiya and Calloway over Oakley and Xander.
The dark aspects are much heavier in this book, from dismemberment to bowling with a human skull but all of it was done with an edge of dark comedy. And I DEVOURED this book.
The back and forth between Jiya and Calloway? It felt natural for their characters and roles. It didn't feel repetitive in the slightest.
This is easily one of my top reads for 2026 already, and I am dying for the next book. I will give my soul for it.
Equally fun as the first one, if not more interesting. 4.25⭐️ 4🌶️ KU✅ 1st Person Dual POV
The story now follows the Gallery Killer and the girl who wants to kill him. The dialogues were better in this one for sure.
Still some plot holes, but what I noticed for both books is that FMCs’ backstories are a bit loose. I mean, you know what their origin story is, but it’s not elaborated enough.
This one has more chapters around 50% mark with pretty funny and elaborate murder, that really increased the pace of the story.
Again, quite Nerflixy, and cool for a fun pastime.
I would still recommend both of this books to fans of dark and murdery rom coms 🙌🏻
First of all I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity of reading this ARC!
This is book two of The Hemlock Society series by K. N. Wilder. I loved the first one, featuring Xander and Oakley and I have to say that the banter of this one had me giggling like a lunatic many times! The storyline is crazy and I loved the mayhem Jiya and Calloway made all the time. One thing I also loved was to get to know more of the other characters. I can’t wait for book three!
I adored reading this story following Calloway, a member of the Hemlock Society and a Bartender, Jiya.
Seeing the story unfold, as well as Calloway and Jiya together was everything, the ending had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen and I was hooked from start to finish!
Jiya was such a fun character to read about and I loved going more in depth with Calloway and getting more personal with him after book 1.
This was so good!!! It’s right up there with Lights Out and Butcher & Blackbird! I’m already excited for the next book in this series!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️
“Ninety-five percent of a successful murder is proper cleanup. The other five percent is pure dumb luck.”
“I want to plan murders with you over breakfast, Jiya. I want to argue about the best lye-to-water ratio and then f*ck you on the kitchen table. I want to photograph you, covered in someone else’s blood, and hang the portrait on my wall.”
Just as good as the first one! Calloway and Jiya’s story was full of great kills, funny moments, and was a total page turner! Loved the cameos of Xander and Oakley and getting to know the whole Hemlock Society more. I hope she writes more books! Would definitely recommend!! #beavermafia iykyk 😂
This was a fun one. Did drag a little at one point but other than that I enjoyed it. Two killers this time, mistaken-ish identity and failed killing attempts. Cal's reaction to the truth was funny, the way he was all serious up until the point the society wasn't in danger, from there it was just flirting. I liked the immediate friendship between Jaya and Thorne. Poor Lazlo. Looking forward to the next one.

I loved this book so much. It was dark but so funny too. I loved how Jiya kept trying to kill Calloway but failed every time for one reason or another. It was sweet how they both bought each other a gift at the antique store. I loved getting to see a little more of Xander and Oakley from the first book. It was horrible what happened to Calloway in the past, his reason for becoming a serial killer. Nothing like their first time together being at the scene of a murder 😂 The scene with the beavers 😂😂 The bowling alley scene...
Loved this book! I really enjoyed the banter between the characters, especially Jiya and Calloway. Plot was engaging. I look forward to more books in the series.
Whew! Book 2 of the Hemlock Society was steamy and fun! I loved the dynamic between Calloway and Jiya and want more of their future endeavors! The Hemlock Society is truly a family and seeing them interact throughout this book further piques the interest of what comes next! Highly recommend this fast paced ride or die couple.

This was such a fun and easy read! It is a fun enemies to lovers (maybe a little of love at first sight) mixed with murder and mayhem. This dark rom com follows the Gallery Killer (if you have read the first book then you know who I mean) and the woman who is determined to kill him.
The MCs have a fun banter relationship that makes you feel connected to them and their world.
This story is filled with dark humor and potential trigger warnings (if you like authors like Brynne Weaver and Lauren Biel then you will be good!)
Knife To Meet You by K.N. Wilder is the kind of book that makes you question your morals, laugh at wildly inappropriate moments, and root for two people who absolutely should not be falling in love—yet somehow feel perfect together.
Jiya Kline is a vigilante with a system: seduce, poison, disappear. Her targets are men who escaped justice, and she’s very good at what she does. Until she meets Calloway Frost. Infuriatingly handsome, maddeningly calm, and completely immune to all of her best efforts to kill him, Calloway refuses to die—and that’s where everything goes off the rails.
Calloway is no ordinary target. By day, he’s a photographer and gallery owner with an unsettlingly beautiful eye for art. By night, he’s the notorious Gallery Killer, staging murders inspired by famous artists and eliminating predators from the art world. Cold, controlled, and precise on the surface, he’s also a deeply wounded man whose obsession with control masks years of pain—and a secret love for early-2000s guilty-pleasure pop music that somehow makes him even more endearing.
The real magic of this book is the dynamic between Calloway and Jiya. Their cat-and-mouse game quickly turns into something resembling a dark sitcom, as every one of Jiya’s murder attempts spectacularly fails. The tension is sharp, the chemistry undeniable, and the humor genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. Who knew failed poisonings and stalking could be this entertaining?
Beneath the humor, though, there’s real heart. Jiya’s path as a killer was born from grief and rage after her roommate’s murderer walked free. Calloway’s crimes are about justice, yes—but also about reclaiming control in a world that once took it from him. Their shared darkness creates a connection that feels surprisingly tender, even as the danger escalates and the police close in.
And then there’s the Hemlock Society—an absolute scene-stealer. The banter, the jokes, and the chaotic camaraderie add so much personality to the story that I would happily read an entire book just about their meetings. Seeing familiar faces like Xander and Oakley again—especially Xander pretending not to worry about Calloway—was a genuine highlight.
Knife To Meet You is a dark rom-com done right: twisted but funny, violent yet emotional, familiar in concept but fresh in execution. If you love morally gray characters, enemies-to-lovers with a lethal twist, and stories that somehow make you laugh during murder scenes, this book deserves a spot at the top of your TBR. When two serial killers collide, sparks—and bodies—fly.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After reading X Marks the Stalker, I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of Knife to Meet You because I needed Calloway’s story. And honestly? It delivered. (Don't worry, Xander — you’re still my ultimate book boyfriend.) I was so happy to see Calloway finally get his moment after absolutely loving him in the first book.
The plot is fast, chaotic, and ridiculously fun from start to finish. One of my favorite aspects was how K.N. Wilder handled the setup. There’s no unnecessary info-dumping — just enough backstory to understand motivations without slowing the pace. And the way Calloway and Jiya first collide sets the tone perfectly. Jiya’s attempts to kill Calloway — which fail fantastically — are equal parts tense, darkly funny, and wildly entertaining. It immediately establishes their dynamic and lets you know you’re in for a messy, unpredictable ride.
The characters are where this book really shines. It’s rare to read a romance where both main characters feel equally strong and perfectly matched, but this one absolutely nails it. Calloway’s shift before and after Jiya is chef’s kiss. Before her, he’s polished, calculating, dramatic for effect, and predatory in a controlled way. After her? He’s chaotic, unkempt, hopelessly in love, and just a little unhinged. Watching him unravel for her was incredibly satisfying. Jiya more than holds her own, and their energy together just works.
And yes, the spice delivers. The chemistry is undeniable, and the spicy scenes are well written, intense, and ahem very titillating without feeling excessive. They enhance the story instead of overtaking it.
Overall, the writing is smooth, engaging, and incredibly bingeable. I flew through this ARC and immediately wanted more. I cannot wait for the next installment — and honestly, I’m a little mad I found this series so early because I want the next book now.
🔪🖤 4-STAR ARC REVIEW: Knife to Meet You by K.N. Wilder 🖤🔪 📅 Coming January 15, 2026 | Hemlock Society #2
I knew the moment Calloway Frost appeared in X Marks the Stalker that his book was going to be unhinged in the best way—and Knife to Meet You absolutely delivered. Dark, funny, chaotic, and oddly tender, this sequel dives headfirst into morally gray mayhem and never looks back.
Calloway is exactly the kind of MMC I hoped for: obsessive, controlled, and terrifyingly competent. Watching the Gallery Killer through his own lens—his rituals, his “work,” his meticulous focus—was fascinating. And pairing him with Jiya? Inspired. She’s chaotic where he’s precise, impulsive where he’s controlled, and the fact that she spends a good chunk of the book trying (and failing) to kill him while he’s already obsessed with her was endlessly entertaining.
Their dynamic is the highlight here. I loved how Calloway was locked in from the start while Jiya genuinely believed she was taking out a bad guy. (I mean… is it really a crime if the Hemlock Society is eliminating predators? I’ll let the jury deliberate.) While I would’ve loved a touch more enemies-to-lovers tension, I was rooting for them immediately, so I can’t complain too much. They balance each other beautifully—even if they’re both absolute nightmares when it comes to each other’s safety.
Seeing Xander and Oakley again was such a treat. Their immediate willingness to help Calloway and Jiya reinforced how strong the Hemlock Society dynamic is, and it made the world feel even more interconnected and alive.
And let’s talk about the humor—because this book is funny. I was laughing out loud more than once. The beaver scene? If you know, you know. And Ambrose casually claiming involvement in the Great Emu War of 1932 had me losing it. K.N. Wilder nails that balance between dark violence and sharp, absurd humor.
Overall, Knife to Meet You is a wildly entertaining sequel with memorable characters, deliciously questionable morals, and just enough chaos to keep things unpredictable. I’m officially obsessed with this series—and now I desperately need Lazlo’s book because that man has my full attention.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 4 — Dark, hilarious, obsessive fun with knives, killers, and chemistry that cuts deep.
🖤 𝓽𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓮𝓼🖤 📕creative unaliving attempts 📕poison 📕inappropriately use sharped objects 📕childhood trauma 📕graphic violence & gore
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 If you fell in love with Butcher & Blackbird, you’ll going to fall in love with Jiya and Calloway’s story. There’s similarities between both books, but the chemistry between the mains and build-up of the plot will have you seated through the whole story. The turn from promising victim to lover changes dramatically in this spicy af thriller with serial unalivers and artistry.
***spoilers***
Jiya is a killer of predators. She believes justice should be served with a side of poison. But Calloway is one target that doesn’t make things easy for her like the others had. Each attempt she makes, he manages to move out of the harms way. Like the world is on his side.
See, Calloway isn’t as innocent as he appears. He’s the infamous Gallery Killer, know for his artistic kill style. And she put all the pieces together to figure out his true identity. But when he finds out the bartender he’s had an eye on for a while is the woman trying to kill him, they unravel all their darkest secrets.
Also, Calloway is part of a group of other known killers of predators and notices the way he begins to feel about her. And when detectives start looking in on some of the recent murders, they start linking them to Jiya and Calloway. But once she is part of the group, they’ll help her even in the darkest of holes.
This is a quick-paced novel that dives you into the madness of star-crossed lovers that united in taking down the true monsters that walk among us. The spice is unbearably hot and builds the chemistry even deeper between Jiya and Calloway. And don’t even get me started on the berry scene. The suspense towards the climax is nail-biting the harder things become. Knife To Meet You is a must-read for 2026.
This is my honest review, and I’m honestly so happy and grateful that I got this ARC!
I really enjoyed the first book, so I was super excited when I got the chance to read this one early. I definitely wasn’t expecting the whole *“she wanted to kill me but now I love her”* thing, but it was really intriguing. I do wish there had been a little more angst between them though—more back and forth, especially if him finding out about her trying to kill him had been dragged out just a bit longer. I also would’ve loved more buildup with their relationship, like more time spent getting to know each other and actually becoming partners in crime.
It gave me *Butcher & Blackbird* vibes, so if you liked that, I’d definitely recommend this series too. Even though I enjoyed a lot about it, the relationship did feel like it moved a little fast for me. That being said, I still really liked seeing them together and watching them be soft and caring with each other… even though they’re literally serial killers.
It definitely delivered on the dark romantic comedy vibes. There were parts that actually made me chuckle, which I loved. I was also surprised by some of the thriller-ish moments that had me thinking *okay but who’s there? what’s about to happen?* I love when a book keeps me on my toes like that. The writing style was fast-paced and didn’t drag, which is always a win for me since I have a short attention span. It was also descriptive enough that I could picture everything clearly, but not so much that it got boring.
I really enjoyed seeing the cameos from the other characters and the couple from book one—it made everything feel more fun and realistic. I like when books show couples actually having lives and relationships outside of just each other instead of being in their own little bubble. Overall, I’d definitely be interested in reading more from this author and continuing with the series. And I’d love to learn more about Thorne too!
OMG, I loved this book from start to finish! I read it in 1 sitting and binged it. I laughed so hard, this book has so much witty, dry humor and it's my thing. Oh god, the way she keeps trying to kill him and everything just goes wrong, like all the time! And then, at the same time, she is struggling with her very real attraction to him. It's fantastic. Ms. Wilder writes such great humor, but with so much heart and feelings!! First we have Jiya, a bartender by trade, but in secret she kills those that deserve it. Her next target? The Gallery Killer. Who we know from Book 1 of the Hemlock Society. She has killed 7 men, very successfully thank you very much, and this is no different. Except, she can't seem to actually get the man dead! Callaway Frost, also known as the Gallery Killer, is an artist at heart. And his murders are more an artistic expression then anything else. He also kills for justice and those that deserve it. He is attracted to Jiya, who he met at the bar she works at, but he keeps his distance from her, knowing that in his line of work you can't really get close to anyone. But it's hard to keep his distance when she seems to be everywhere he is. What a coincidence...or is it? And...is someone trying to kill him?Or, is he just being paranoid? One can never be too careful in the murder business. This book is hilarious, but also shows us that there is a perfect match for everyone. No matter how broken we think we are, no matter how unlovable we think we are, someone out there will love us for who we are. They will think we are just fine the way we are. And that is how I think the perfect love story should be. 5 stars from me and I highly recommend. This book does get gory, so check your trigger warnings kids!
You could carve out my heart with that knife and l'd thank you for it. I don't care. As long as it's you." Knife to meet you KN Wilder. I got the opportunity to have this book given to me early as an arc read. It’s the second book in the Hemlock Society (aka a group of dignified serial killers” This installment follows Calloway the fancy artistic killer and Jiya a spicy bartender with her own secrets to hide. This book gave a bigger look into the Hemlock society, reintroducing us to familiar society members like Xander from the last book, also getting to know Thorne more outside his hard shell persona and even giving more time to lazlo who quickly became a favorite of mine with his comedic approaches. This book was more about how a serial deleter starts to fall for the person they are suppose to be deleting of this world, Jiya thinks Calloway is nothing but a common serial killer who is in for the perverse thrill, so she decides to take him out not once not twice but three times to no success. Calloway and team find out it’s her and Calloway goes to confront her but instead they find themselves enthralled. Not to give too much away there some hilarious moments with a dead body, double poison and a someone being stabbed in the shoulder. Jiya and Calloway’s story is different then Xander and Oakley, they were being hunted by the bad guys in this case the hunters are actually the police and they sure try their best as making one of them pay for their crimes. There is Witt mixed with serious childhood trauma and the characters just finding themselves like magnets that attract even though they shouldn’t.
