Ryder Windham is an American sci-fi author who has written over sixty Star Wars books, including novels, comics, reference books, and so on. He has also written junior novelizations for Indiana Jones movies. Since 1993, he has been working on Star Wars projects either by himself or with other authors. His reference book Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide had been on the New York Times Best Seller list for three weeks in 2005. Although he has written lots of books, accepted interviews, and appeared at several fan-conventions, little is known about his personal life.
This is great. Basically each section goes into great depth for each of the four (4) characters depicted on the cover and within the title.
Obi, Maul, and Vader all = rock solid ~4.5 star ratings.
For Obi, absolutely loved it. Covers Prequels, The Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith - and it just was so so good.
Maul... you know unfortunately this was essentially a copy/paste of the book, The Wrath of Maul. There was a little bit of extra content involving his brother, Savage Opress... but other than that pretty much a word for word copy. If you haven't read the Wrath of Maul, this will knock your red skinned black ink tattoo'd socks off.
Vader - absolutely stunning. Embark on a journey into Lord Vader's deepest thoughts. Reminiscing of Padme, young Ani, his deal with the devil when he bent the knee to Sidious in Episode III, and so much more. Then, if that doesn't give you goosebumps, the road towards the Death Star and then ultimately Vader's death drives it home. The coup de grace... is the explanation of how Vader turns back into Anakin as a Force Apparition that you see in the newly modified Episode VI. Again, this section was AMAZING.
Luke - the weak point of this publication. Then again, I am just not a Luke fan. I won't get into here in this review, but yeah... my opinion may be slightly skewed. But this was for sure the low point of the title.
1000% recommend to any Obi, Maul, or Vader fans!
I'd love to see more of these! Give me Padme, Leia, Boba, and more! Let's go!
This was a good read. The only one I didn't care for was the Maul story. I found it rather boring. The other stories were a retelling of the movies and some of the books through Obi-Wan's, Luke's, or Vader's perspective. I liked that it added what they were thinking or feeling during different moments.
To long but it’s ok. Most likely the movies nothing added
It was like the movies nothing added. I did care for it just hoping there was more to know. I followed 4-6 very closely any Star Wars fan this is your books.
