I have read scores of investment books over the decades and, while no single book is sufficient by itself, this one should be on everyone's short list. I know of no other that packs as much information in so compact a space, or that is more suffused with practical wisdom. The chapter on taxes--a baffling and frustrating topic--is alone worth the price.
Sophisticated investors will already know most of what is here, but it is nevertheless a valuable exercise to go back to the ground floor and see everything laid out clearly in one place. Beginners will take an immediate leap in understanding. Most important, they will learn how to avoid all the most common mistakes and thereby optimize their portfolios and their life satisfaction
No matter whether you are new to the topic of personal finance or an old hand, this book will both educate you on the basics and illuminate the finer points in a wonderfully understandable way. I've been seeking out information about personal finance for years and I still learned a ton. Highly recommend!
