She's a pop star. He's trouble in a jersey. But the world doesn't know anything about who they've always been together…
Growing up, my biggest dream was to marry my best friend, Teo Kirby. Life had other plans—or he did, anyway. His perfect future involved football, not his curvy best friend.
He broke my heart…and a horrific accident destroyed my life.
I've never been able to get past it. I don't think he has, either.
When we come face to face at my concert after six years, Teo swears I don't know the full story. And he isn't the same boy I loved back then. This version of him is harder. Angrier. A tornado in a jersey.
And God help me, he still has the power to break me.
I shouldn't still care about him or the fact that his professional football career is on the line. The last thing I need is his tarnished reputation destroying mine. But when he tells the world that we're dating... I'm just crazy enough to play along.
I'm desperate enough to revel in his touch and drown in his kisses, too.
But I wasn't supposed to forgive him. I wasn't supposed to fall. And we weren't supposed to find ourselves facing the same impossible choices we faced back then, either.
With the entire world watching, can we truly break free of the past, or are we destined to break all over again?

This was such a good book. I remember when reading heroines sister book, that I was interesting in these two’s storie, and it did not disappoint💗
- Second chance done right - It’s always been you - Friends to lovers to strangers/hate to lovers - Music artist / football player - 24 years old - Super safe: dual virgins, no owd or omd - Mental health rep (PTSD and alcohol)
It was so heart breaking reading what the h went through alone, and how she thought the H didn’t wanted to support her but how he instead chose football - and how wrong assumptions that actually was. H loved her so much it’s almost painful to read about how much hurting he’s been through as well. So glad they found their way back together and managed to built a healthy relationship.
The majority of this book takes place after the prologue of the previous book, Whiskey Promises, with the FMCs sister Zoya and one of Nadia’s band members. After reading that one I was going crazy trying to figure out if I’d missed Nadia and Teo’s book but I was thrilled to find this one. I absolutely loved it but, I have to say, it was a little hard to read too. There was so much pain and regret, misunderstandings and hurt feelings on the part of both MCs and they felt so real that my heart hurt for them as if it was MY relationship that had fallen apart. The journey back to each other however, was perfection and couldn’t have been any better especially Teo. He was the sweetest man and completely, head over heels, in love with Nadia.
If you enjoy one and only, forever love type romances, this is one you shouldn’t miss out on. There was no OW/OM nonsense, our MCs loved each other desperately and waited, preferring to be alone rather than try to find someone else and that alone made the book an instant favorite for me. (One of my biggest pet peeves in a romance is for one or both MCs to supposedly be SO in love with the other but still not manage to be faithful.) This one though, 4.5 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but so worth it.

Brilliant second generation instalove between Teo and Nadia (children from couples in love on the Clock series).
Childhood best friends, turned lover who are torn apart by broken promises, an accident and the inability to turn back time. Hold Me Closer is an emotional read that will have you tearing up as you feel like you're going through the heartbreak of loosing your first love right along with them.
The angst that both Nadia and Teo are experiencing and have experienced will have you rooting for them to get their heads on straight and work towards their happy ending as its so clear they belong with one another.
I loved reading Hold Me Closer, it was nice to read a second generational romance that you could see happening in the epilogue of the first gen romance Hold You. It was pure and emotional, and hot the perfect blend for this amazing 5 star read.
What to expect ✔️Second Chance ✔️Sports Romance ✔️Angsty ✔️Dual Virgins ✔️Dual POV ✔️Instalove ✔️Childhood friends to lovers ✔️Second Generation ✔️Alpha MMC ✔️Strong FMC ✔️Interlinking Characters ✔️Steamy Read ✔️HEAs
5 stars, loved reading this. Nichole is excellent at what she does and Hold me Closer just solidifies it further.
SAFETY remarks - SAFE - Dual virgins - each others first and only - cheating/sharing: no - ow/om: no - separation/breakups: 6 years - possible triggers: no - HEA: yes
Well, this is part of the Vineyard series universe in that Nadia’s sister is paired with Jareth, Bastian’s twin and co-owner of the vineyard. This is the reason I read this book, to know what happened with them when it was mentioned in Whiskey Wishes (Zoya and Jareth’s story).
These two are childhood friends, sweethearts and dual virgins through and through!! Each other’s everything. Which is absolutely amazing… until you get to the absurd part.
He says the wrong things after their first kiss and saying he loves her. And then the misunderstandings and not talking to properly about everything. In my mind, I cannot understand why the family respected their wishes to not talk about the other to them and clarify stuff. Make them understand!!! Make them see what’s really going on. To me, what happened to them is their family’s fault. It doesn’t matter if she doesn’t want to know and gives them distance. They are hurting her more by not telling her. Even if she distances herself from her family, they are mom and dad and sisters. She won’t ever stop loving them. So, to me it was absurd to keep each other’s secret. 6 wasted years.
And then, he takes advantage of their paparazzi pic saying they are dating. Their start is rocky again. Until… She gives up and everything is fine. At least he gets to explain properly what happened back then; and she does the same. And the cherry on top for me: he retires from football to make her his priority (he didn’t even enjoy playing).
[parenthesis… how is it that his publicist enters his house and his room while he’s asleep half (or completely) naked (and aroused btw because of what he’s dreaming) and it’s totally normal? Don’t like it. Even if there’s nothing there]
After all the hurdles, it’s a beautiful second chance story. I just wish the family talked to each of them at least after 6 months or a year when they settled. Not resolve 6 years later. They both were miserable!! Talk about a big stupid misunderstanding that would’ve ended with talking.
Started out 6 years before at prom (18 years old) MC’s admitted to loving each other and kiss for the first time and then MMC tells FMC that he is leaving to play football so graduating a year early after she decided to wait another year for collage for him. He tells her she shouldn’t have waited and that’s not what he wanted (making it seem like she is stupid for doing so)
It then goes to Mateos POV 6 years later he tells us how he tried to get her to forgive him so they can be ‘friends’ again like how can she be friends when she is in love with you, uh men.
An accident happened at thanksgiving after prom and he blames himself
They avoid each other for 6 years he sees her getting harassed by some guys and punches them, the press gets wind of it with photos of the MC’s together and MMC tells them that he is dating her (start of a Fake Relationship) his reputation is bad because he gets into fights if someone mentions her
So much miscommunication because their families won’t tell them the full stories about each other which I get in a way because they were hurt and they wanted them to figure it out themselves but still 6 years!!
They needed time away from each other to grow up without being dependent on each other which they did

"Hold Me Closer" is a heartwarming standalone novel that brings us the lovely second-chance romance between pop star Nadia and football player Teo. These two started out as childhood friends, became lovers, but then drifted apart after a car accident took their lives in different directions. Yet, despite everything, their shared history remains a powerful bond.
You can really feel the emotional tug at your heartstrings as both Nadia and Teo navigate the pain of losing each other—especially since they were each other’s first love. The misunderstandings and miscommunications between them only make you want to cheer them on even more as they try to find their way back to one another. You just want to see them get their happily ever after!
I absolutely adored how relatable and likable the characters are; it makes you fall for them even more! Their journey to rekindle their love is truly satisfying, and it feels so rewarding when they finally come together and start healing from their past. It's a beautiful read that just fills your heart with joy!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don’t really like second chance romances because usually they walk away from each other and then find each other again. This one though, this one was beautifully written and both characters were so attached to each other, it didn’t feel like a separation. There was so much hurt and pain and misunderstandings between them, but the love they had for each other was so incredibly strong. This one was angsty and made me cry a few times, but it was also so beautiful and I felt their connection all the way through. I love second generation books too and this one had a lot of that, not just in the main characters. Teo was absolutely obsessed with Nadia in the best ways and the dirty talk was top notch! Loved the steamy scenes and the emotion behind them all! I also really liked how their first steamy scene was written in how accurate it was for 2 virgins. No cheating or OM/OW drama even while separated, double virgins, no condom use, dual POV’s, HEA and the sweetest future look in the last chapter. I hope we get to see some more second generation kids from other series soon, maybe even Emelia?!
This is the story of Nadia and Matteo, childhood friends that turned to lovers. But when Teo gets a college scholarship for playing football and he has to leave Nadia behind things change. There was so much miscommunication , misunderstanding, hurt, anger , but so much love too. Now six years later she is a popstar and he is a professional football player with a bunch of anger and a bad reputation. Now they finally get their HEA after long discussions, heartfelt apologies and with an awesome social circle. I freaking loved Nadia's parents ❤️ and her sister. Second chance, sweet, bittersweet, romantic , sad, steamy and totally safe( they were their one and only-not even blinked at others while being apart😍😍) with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍 can't wait for Zoya's story ☺️
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Nadia and Teo’s story and y’all it didn’t disappoint! Teo and Nadia grew up together and have always had feelings for one another and one night changes everything. If that wasn’t bad enough an another life altering event comes crashing down upon them. Six years later, it’s time to come face to face and put it all on the line once and for all. It’s a angsty and emotional second chance romance between football player an pop star. it’s a great second chance romance! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Nichole Rose gives an emotional heartfelt read, that will stick with you long after you are done. Teo and Nadia have always loved each other but decisions made in immaturity lead to heart rending repercussions. Six years later, a second chance and undying love leads to a messy but beautiful reconciliation. I loved their story of hope, reconnection, sacrifice, forgiveness and healing. You will tear up, fan yourself, laugh, and feel your way through this well written love journey. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.
Nadia and Teo are so good together. I liked their story. The feels and the drama make you want to understand why they did the things they did in the past. I was kind of over it when the miscommunications kept kind of happening, but the ending was just so cute. I loved that Teo wanted Nadia, and nothing was going to stop him from being with her. It's a good story with feels and smutty goodness. Everyone should check it out!
After meeting Nadia in Whiskey Promises (her sister Zoya's story), I was beyond curious about what happened between her and Teo. I had a few pieces but couldn't see the puzzle. I loved this second chance romance. I already knew I loved Nadia, but getting more time with my favorite pop star was so great. Now. Teo.. that angry, grumpy, broken man 🫠. His devotion to Nadia, even when things are broken 🥹. I loved coming full circle with these sisters. Now, who is next?
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a phenomenal second chance romance and one of my absolute favorites by this author. It was so well written and the storyline almost wrecked me completely. It was quite emotional and it felt so real. I loved Nadia and Teo, and though they really had to put their love through the wringer they just got the best HEA. I didn’t want the story to end.
If resilience and love had a story this would be it. Teo and Nadia had a tragic story background to an otherwise very successful adult life. The story was extremely well written and we could really feel them in every page. They had gone through so much to be able to finally say “I love you” at the end, freely. 5 stars.
Teo and Nadia have a deep-rooted love that has been put through the grinder.
These two have been in love with each other, it seems since their conception. Life gets in the way, but love doesn't allow it to stand still or destroy their love!
This was great. I "met" Teo and Nadia in Whiskey Promises, and was thrilled they had their own book. This spicy story of HEA is very captivating. Their story is 6 years in the making, they were always best friends until they weren't. At least they thought they weren't. But it's always been each other, no one else will do.
This book was so amazing. I have read a lot of Nichole Rose books and this might be my new favorite so far. This book has me in tears. The emotions in the words had my heartbreaking. I wouldn't give anything away just there is a HEA ending. The growth in these characters has me in awe. Great work Nichole.
Hold Me Closer is Teo and Nadia's best friend, second chance romance. It was so great I really enjoyed it. The characters were wonderful. I highly recommend.
I received a copy of this ARC from the author and I'm leaving my honest review.
Teo and Nadia do eventually get their HEA. There's so much water under that bridge and ways that they finally get there. It's definitely an emotional roller coaster and completed in a way that only Nichole Rose can do. Good read and I enjoyed it. Wow the emotions....
Nadiya and Teo have wasted six years and misunderstanding and misplaced hurt but an unexpected kiss caught by the paparazzi final forces them to confront the past and its misconceptions and lets them forgive each other and themselves to move forward together in this wonderful read.
I couldn't connect with the main characters any better, so I'm giving it a 3.6 ⭐ Something was missing, and I think I know what.
It is linked to the book 'Whiskey Promises' - this book is about Zaya, Nadia's sister https://amzn.eu/d/7FXfE2J But it's best to read this series first: Love on the Clock: The Complete Series Where one of the parts concerns Nadia's parents https://amzn.eu/d/bL7uKK4
TEO IS A GRUMPY , ANGRY AND BROKEN MAN . NADIA IS A POPSTAR , THEY HAVE HISTORY AND I LOVE THIS SECOND CHANCE STORY .. ABOUT RESILIENCE AND MAKING THINGS HAPPEN WHEN ALL SEEMS HOPELESS .
I love Mateo and Nadia together! They were always meant to be together! Such a powerful and beautiful healing love story! Soo soo good and soo soo H.O.T I absolutly loved it! 😍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️❤️🥰
