About the author

Quinn has been doing caming for awhile now that she ends up having a stalker. Not a good happy stalker no one who wants to kill her. Enter Aven whos a bodyguard and hired by Jim to keep Quinn safe when Jim tells Quinn his plan to lure the guy to his amusement park shes not in but in. Learning that Jim has a park full of killers and shes apart of it. She takes it pretty good she also has a crush on Aven even if hes a dick to her in public hes been hot for her in private always watching her cam girl videos he just cant have ang attachments. He has a job and wants to go back to his home country.

Beside that info and Quinn learning shes a Carter "sibling" she wants to channel her inner killer. I like that Lauren makes things funny and wired like poor Quinn has a weak bladder, Aven hits his own nuts to get rid of a hard on. Quinn pisses herself one time because Aven gagged her so hard with his dick. Like things that make you laugh and go wtfff.
Also food is always ruined by Lauren dont forget that.

Back to the review there is alot of tension and secerts when Aven does get to be with Quinn hes just masked up and silent. Wanting both of best worlds. But when his secert is out shes not mad shes relive since she thought she was being unfaithful to Aven in his non-mask self. Lol the friendship are amazing like always. I love that they dont judge on killing. And being so nice to everyone.

There is one last? Book left. Wonder who it is. Ice? GRIM AND HIS WOMAN? Jim? EVE? DOES EVE GET HER HEA?

Saftey-why cheating? Aven is masked up and Quinn doesn't know its him. So he's being 2 ppls and lying for abit nothing else. She also a cam girl so she does videos beside that.

Lauren Biel is an auto-read author for me. This series is one of my favorites.
A theme park, serial killers, chaos, and "special" food all make for a great fourth book. Aven and Quinn were adorable together. You can never go wrong with a broody Scottish man, yummy.

Quinn, is a cam girl but has a stalker who appears to be very dangerous. She also has a protector, through messages on her cam site he endeavours to keep her safe until one night. Aven, becomes her bodyguard when they both find themselves at the next retreat. Of course this is no ordinary retreat, as Jim has purchased it and re-designed it to his specifications 😈 Not giving you anymore, if you’ve read the previous books in this series you will have some idea 🤭

I love this series, this one had a few twists I didn’t see coming as Lauren leads you one way then jolts you the other a bit like a roller coaster 🤣 I totally admit I scoffed and laughed out loud so many times, I kept earning funny looks 🫣 Her writing and imagination is just amazing and it comes across so well in her stories, honestly, I’ve no idea how she comes up with them but bravo lady 👏

Sadly, I didn’t love this one. I struggled to stay invested in it and it’s been difficult to write a decent review. It lacked action and the plot was pretty convoluted. I feel like this is more of a 2.5, but I’m rounding up to 3.

the family who slays together stays together

Quinn Parker (26, cam girl) enjoys the money that comes from getting naked on camera, but it does come with its issues… like stalkers. Under very convenient circumstances, Quinn acquired herself a Scottish bodyguard. When her stalker gets too close, she runs for her life and ends up with more surprises than she bargained for.

“What are you hungry for?”

“About three heavy sedatives, a long vacation, and competent oral?”

Aven Slade (38-ish, killer) wants to return to his homeland, but he needs money to do that. When a high-paying bodyguard gig lands in his lap, courtesy of our scheming friend Jim Madigan, it’s an offer too good to decline.

“Stay back, witch!” He forms a ward against evil with his fingers. “You have no power here.”

I grumble and step closer to the bed. “I don’t want to hurt you. I just want to fuck you. Now give me your cock!”

Jim announces his arrival and convinces Quinn to come to his new amusement park with the promise that he can keep her safe and he also has the answers to her secret past.

“Quinn, I cannae promise our life together will be perfect, but I promise it will always be a life together.”

Egg chairs, Kenny, green men, cum curry, simulations, cake batter, and a HFN.

SEX: Good lord, LB hates us in this book. The sex is bad and too slow of a burn. Because of a special circumstance, I can’t give my usual sex percentages, but you can learn more under the spoiler below. I will say condoms aren’t used.

LINEAGE: There’s a whole mess involving lineage and it was confusing as fuck. It was also a little lackluster for me. Like LB wanted us to have that “ta-da” moment where we don’t see it coming, but it’s so mixed up that you end up confused instead of surprised. I think she tried to put so many “shocks” in there that none of them were shocking.

STALKER: This really bothered me. For her to have a dangerous stalker, there were surprisingly few attempts made on her life. The entire first half of the book was just her enjoying the vacation. At the end when something finally did happen, it was just meh. I was so disappointed.

ANIMALS: Lauren heard our request and decided to add animal abusers to the cattle mix. While I love this, I did not enjoy reading about the crimes committed against the animals. There isn't too much, and you can easily skim those parts, but I still wanted to put that warning out there for you.

PLOT: This trope is one that really annoys the fuck out of me. This is 100% a spoiler so only read it if you feel like you must. This sorta turns into a secret identity trope. Quinn is going to have sex on camera and Aven doesn’t want her to do it, but he doesn’t want her to know it’s him, so he wears a full-body unitard and fucks her on camera but never climaxes himself. Quinn now thinks that she’s into two different men. She spends over half the book debating which guy she should choose. Then when she’s having real feelings for Aven, she decides to fuck Green Guy one last time to see if he’s the one she wants. This entire time Aven has refused to fuck her as himself, so she feels rejected by him. But then she goes and fucks Green Guy, and it made me feel like she’s ok with cheating on Aven. See!! It’s a fucking mess. The first time with Green Guy is at 37% and it was totally unsatisfying. She doesn’t fuck Aven as himself until the 81% mark. Ugh…. I hated this.

Honestly can’t say that I recommend it, but if you’re going to continue the series you’ll probably want to.

This was such a fantastic addition to the Slaycation series! Setting the story at an amusement park was absolutely chef’s kiss — it added the perfect mix of fun, chaos, and suspense. The mystery surrounding Quinn’s mom, and the way Desmond was ultimately woven into it all, had me completely hooked. Every reveal raised the stakes and kept the pages turning.

The banter between Quinn and her Scottish bodyguard, Aven, was one of my favorite parts. Their chemistry felt natural and sharp, balancing tension with humor in the best way. I especially loved Aven’s character development — watching him grow and evolve throughout the story added so much emotional depth. His transformation felt authentic and earned, which made their dynamic even more compelling.

The way all the threads and characters connected in the end was incredibly satisfying. Everything tied together seamlessly, making the mystery feel layered and well thought out. And of course, I have to mention the running food moments — the way she manages to find some type of food in every single book never fails to make me laugh 😂 It’s such a fun little signature touch.

Overall, this was a thrilling, witty, and heart-filled installment that perfectly blends mystery, romance, and humor. Definitely a page-turner from start to finish!

Dare I say this is my first 6, yes you read that right, first 6-star read of the year?! I loveee some humour with my spice, and oh my did Lauren bring both. I was blushing, and hootin’ and hollerin’ all day.

When Quinn and her bodyguard, Aven, find themselves on a killer retreat (no pun intended, hehe), he has one thing in mind, do his job and get out. But Quinn isn’t just any normal job.

I loved Quinn’s character. She was never ashamed of who she was. She oozes body positivity and could charm the pants off a saint. She’s especially good at keeping her grumpy bodyguard on his toes.

If you love a rom-com with a bad*ss FMC, Slaughter Park, or better yet, the Slaycation series as a whole, may be your next read.🏖️🔪

i had to wait and leave this review for as long as i could because, god dang it was just too good. so now i have to deal with the loss of it being over 😭 🍿 🪓

the story line of this dark rom-com is really what intrigued me and was a major deciding factor in giving it the rating i did - but lauren’s whit and character traits are amazing.

the fmc and mmc are too similar to me (my boyfriend is a body guard, im a + sized girly and i also hate dark meat) so it was literally meant for me. but i know you’ll love them too, their personalities are popping out of the pages 😉

It’s one of those books that’s so ridiculous and out there, that it makes it so funny and enjoyable. I will read anything dark rom com that Lauren Biel writes from here on out! Look. Lauren Biel is officially the only person who’s allowed to ruin my appetite. She’s still fucking up food in ways that make me want to both gag and applaud. Consider my appetite officially deceased—right along with the "cattle".

This book definitely cranked up the graphic violence, and honestly? I’m not even mad about it. The theme park kills had me scrunching my face in a perfect mix of disgust and total amusement. It’s the kind of "traumance" only Biel can pull off—where you’re laughing one second and questioning your moral compass the next. I am absolutely obsessed with this "family who slays together" dynamic. I’m already vibrating with excitement to stay in this unhinged world for just a bit longer with the next installment, Sinners Reunion.

Another amazing installment of the Slaycation series!

Aven takes a temporary job as a bodyguard so he can get paid and head back home to Scotland, but protecting fiercely independent cam girl Quinn proves harder than he expected. As her stalker threat grows, the gruff Scot finds himself drawn to her in ways that complicate his clean exit plan. While Quinn searches for answers about her mother and navigates new feelings, both must confront the danger closing in and decide whether love is worth the risk.

Aven is the grumpiest man in the whole series, hands down. He definitely doesn't approve of his job as Quinn's bodyguard, but also can't stay away from her either. Quinn also is such a firecracker of an FMC. She is a cam girl, and loves to poke fun at Aven, knowing he is watching her every show.

When Quinn first arrives at the park, and is made aware of just what the park is actually about, she comes to life in a different way. Aven doesn't expect it, and even Quinn didn't expect she would have so much fun. I loved their dynamic, and I loved how the family of this series just keeps expanding. Lauren definitely threw some new stuff into this book, and I couldn't put it down.

As always, you could read this as a standalone, but reading the books in order will paint the fuller picture.

This is, by far, the best of the series and possibly Lauren's best book (and I've read them all!). Seeing her grow as an author and watching her put all her nutty, gory, romantic-in-the-freakiest-of-ways ideas into a genuinely awesome story has been SO much fun. The setting here is EXCELLENT, and so well fleshed out that I can really see the book getting optioned for a movie. If you like spooky amusement parks, a little gore, kissing at very inopportune moments, and a mystery that you'll be wracking your brain trying to solve, you will adore Slaughter Park. The FMC is sweet and sassy without being frustrating, and the MMC is broody and grumpy without being a complete jerk. Spice level is medium-high, and feels like it fits the characters without being shoved in just to have a spicy scene.

You could ~technically~ read this as a standalone, but you'll enjoy it a lot more if you read the previous Slaycation books first! There are some fun cameos and a bit of backstory that may be confusing if you start with this one.

I literally set alarms to get an advance copy of this book and am SO happy I got one. I'll be buying a paperback as soon as it comes out to add to my shelf!

The way Slaughter Park had me in a chokehold!! I beg for no one to make me choose my favorite in this series because if I have to; I'm ended. 🤣🤣

So there's a stalker lurking, killer rides, and just good ol' fun for... not a family, but for this found family; it’s perfect. 🫠🫠
Quinn is a cam girl who owns every part of herself and refuses to hide. (Yes, girllll!!) She’s mouthy, fearless, and doesn’t care who knows it.
Then there’s Aven, the Scottish bodyguard that's all rough around the edges, trying to keep everything under control.
Sparks?? More like fireworks. 🥵🥵 Just delicious heat like a fresh-from-the-fryer funnel-cake. 🙃🙃

The tension never lets up. The mystery of Quinn's mom cuts deeper than you’d think, adding real punch to the story. You're left constantly turning the pages trying to figure everything out. And the twists leave you wondering, "OMG, what the f—??" BUT in the best way.

I can hardly wait for what's next from Lauren!!

Slaughter Park by Lauren Biel was an instant 5-star read for me. This dark romantic comedy follows Aven (from the previous book) and Quinn, a cam girl with Aven as her bodyguard. I loved getting to know both of them. Watching Aven come out of his shell was everything and Quinn was such a fun and loveable character.

The banter was so good I was laughing out loud, but the story also had genuinely heartwarming moments and handled heavier topics really well. Even with a big cast it never felt confusing or convoluted.

Also this is a DARK romcom, so expect lots of killing, gore, and chaos and I loved every second of it. I’m a slow reader and still finished it in two days. I don’t want this series to end!

Lauren Biel is magic with the dark rom-coms. I love a DARK romance but sometimes you need something that gives you the dark but makes you laugh too and Lauren nails it every time. Her entire Slaycation series is outstanding. It’s funny, witty, full of twists and also dark because of the um… hobbies of her main characters.

Aven and Quinn have my heart. Aven is a closed off Scottish man who keeps his secrets close but Quinn is a bubbly, sunshine woman who says absolutely not and worms her way right into the middle of his heart. The spice is *chef’s kiss* the plot is dark, twisty and oh so funny. You will not regret reading this book!!

I love this series so much! I was lucky to get an ARC copy of this one.

I don't want to say too much due to spoilers.
The story follows Quinn and Aven and I really enjoyed them as characters. As expected this story includes a lot of chaos, spice, murder, lots of laughs, food and of course some surprising twists and turns.
Overall this book is a great addition to the series and I look forward to more.
My only nitpick is that I would have liked a bit more of the rest of the gang but that is just because I want all of them all the time 🤣

This was such a fun read! I’ve really enjoyed the whole series, but an amusement park setting was such a clever way to get my fix of flirting and fun killings 🎢🩸

I loved seeing some familiar faces pop back up, but Aven and Quinn completely stole the show for me! Their dynamic was adorable and chaotic in the best way. There was a bit too much miscommunication for my taste, but it didn’t take away from how much fun I had overall.

This book is hilarious, gory, fast-paced, and wildly entertaining. I absolutely ate it up and I’m already counting down to the final book 👀🔥

Lauren knocked it out of the park with this one! I couldn't put it down! The spice was spicing, there were quotes and phrases that literally made me laugh out loud, the twists and turns at the end make me speed read just to know what was going to happen. I just recently got into Laurens books and the Slaycation series has easily become a favorite for me. I just finished Slaughter Park and I loved it. Once again the characters were fun to follow along in the book and always unexpected things you find out during the story. I love the character development across the whole series. I was so curious how she would continue this at a theme park and it ended up being a cool concept I enjoyed. I already can't wait for the next book in the series!

When I say that, I laughed my literal behind off. This book was absolutely amazing! The comedy was gold. Lauren Biel has a way with her writing that leaves you wanting more.
