I don’t give a damn what people say about me. I’m successful and confident—one of San Diego’s youngest CEOs.
But when my womanizer rep costs me a major business deal, I’ve got a problem.

One of my brothers suggests a fake girlfriend. Ridiculous.

Then I spot the perfect opportunity.

At a bar, I overhear a stunning blonde getting utterly humiliated by her ex—who casually informs her he dumped her to marry someone else. What an idiot.

She looks like she needs rescuing. So I sit at their table and kiss her like I’ve done it a million times. After the jerk bails, I make her a be my fake date for one business dinner.

Phoebe agrees.

It should’ve been simple, but the dinner turns into a weekend at a beach house.
One bedroom.
Too much wine.
One unforgettable night.

The next morning, she tries to pretend it didn’t happen.

Phoebe is nothing like the women I usually date. She’s hardworking, has a sharp sense of humor, and she’s the most selfless person I’ve met. That’s why I want more.

I just have to prove that there’s more to me than she thinks. I’m close to my family. I spoil my nephew. I’m ready to change.

Phoebe is still hurting and wants to play it safe. But I won’t give up. Because this fake relationship is starting to feel very real.

What to Expect:
- Billionaire Romance
- Fake Dating
- One Bed
- Reformed Playboy
- Opposites Attract
- Found Family
- No Third Act Breakup
- Dual POV
- Dual Narration

My Thoughts:
Secret Kisses is the third book in the Sterling Brothers series, and follows Phoebe and Griffin. Phoebe is still recovering from a painful breakup, but agrees to meet with her ex when he asks to talk. Her ex delivers news that leaves her embarrassed and upset. Enter Griffin. He happens to overhear Phoebe's best friend talking about how terrible her ex was. Without thinking, he steps in and pretends to be Phoebe's new boyfriend. To thank him, Phoebe agrees to be his fake girlfriend to help Griffin with a business deal.

I loved Phoebe and Griffin together. They had amazing chemistry, and their connection felt real. Griffin slowly shifts from a man who avoids commitment to someone who falls hard for Phoebe, and I loved every second of it. The found family element added so much humor and warmth to the story. I loved how easily Phoebe fit into Griffin's life and the Sterling family. Secret Kisses has low drama, amazing characters, a fun found family element, and an easy-going romance with the perfect happy ending. I need more of the Sterling brothers!

Narration:
Emma Wilder and Stephen Dexter performed the audiobook in dual-style narration. Their performances were so good! Emma and Stephen were the perfect voices for Phoebe and Griffin, and brought this story to life in the best way. I genuinely had a smile on my face while listening.

Thanks to Layla Hagen for the review opportunity. Opinions expressed are my own.

Layla Hagen's Secret Kisses introduces Griffin, a charming Sterling brother who manages his own business and collaborates with Sterling Investments when necessary, and Phoebe, a woman who plans to find a way to move on after being in a long-term relationship that ended drastically to start over.

The couple met when Griffin pretended to be her boyfriend to fend off unwanted attention. From the moment this couple met their was ease between the two. It was easy to see they would make a wonderful couple. We love it when a man with his Playboy carefree lifestyle falls first and hard and fast. The chemistry between this couple was palpable, fun, and flirty.

Griffin, like his brothers, is a good guy and cares deeply for his family and loved ones, including Phoebe. The sterling brothers' banter is comical; they make us laugh with their banter and interactions. As Griffin and Phoebe navigate their feelings for each other, Phoebe learns to move on from her past relationship while Griffin discovers new emotions for her. The way Griffin was with Phoebe was so endearing that it melted our hearts. I think we can, but put Griffin in the swoony boyfriend category.

Griffin and Phoebe's love story is sure to captivate you. Their love story was beautiful, we thoughly enjoyed it. Their ending could not be more perfect. We almost cried, but instead we smiled. We loved seeing this couple blossom and grow as a couple and emotionally. The narrators of the story were great; we really enjoyed the duo.

We are getting Griffin Sterling’s story, this is a fun one. Their meet-cute starts a fake dating situation – and we all know where fake dating goes….

Griffing has just lost a deal, due to his reputation, and he sees Phoebe across the bar, and she looks like she needs to be rescued.

This is a fun read, part roller coaster, part laugh out loud funny. Griffin never planned to change his playboy ways, and I enjoyed being part of his hard fall! Phoebe is guarded, her ex did a number on her. It is fun watching the two realize this is not so fake anymore.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧

I loved 🎧listening 🎧 to this story SO HARD! The 🎙️DUAL🎙️ narration performance by 🎤Stephen Dexter & Emma Wilder🎤 was incredible! They were both so intune with their characters and the story that I actually felt like I was living inside their world. Seriously, huge round of 👏👏applause👏👏 to them both! I didn’t get to read this story yet, only listen, but something tells me that if I had, I’d still be saying that if you get the opportunity to listen, do it!

Layla Hagen has fast become a go-to author for me in the last year. Her stories are relatable, organic and realistic. There are no dramatic plot points thrown in for dramatics’ sake and the characters feel “everyday” to me, even when we are talking about billionaires! GAH, she has a gift, and I’ve been trying to play catch-up with her backlist for almost a year now because she always delivers (or at least she has so far)!

The story of Griffin & Phoebe made me happy from the very beginning. Their meet-cute was adorably unique and it just got better and better from that point. There’s a deep emotional tone underlying this story, but it was never angsty, rather more uplifting and hopeful. I LIKED THAT A LOT! There are circumstances that both Griffin & Phoebe (but mostly Phoebe lol) had to hurdle or break free from in order for their future to be bright and Layla developed them and the story so incredibly well, that I couldn’t help but cheer for them for almost the entire story.

An incredible story with an incredible listening experience! #winning

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
physical altercation involving MMC & an ex

Something I have loved about this series is we are introduced to the MMCs as doting uncles. That says a LOT about a man! Griffin is a lady’s man, the opposite of a relationship kind of guy, and yet he wants to invest in a dating app. Something the owner (and his own brothers) can’t understand. But have no fear, he has a plan! He’s going to fake date a stranger! Griffin and Phoebe are unsuspecting friends, quite easily. It very quickly becomes an “I never saw you coming” situation, and I loved it! There’s definite attraction between them, and they feel it! But as mentioned, he’s not into relationships. And Phoebe is trying to get her life in order after her long term boyfriend blew her life apart. But Griffin is ready and willing to make changes, and support Phoebe along every step of her building her new life. They make BIG steps, together! And while it felt fast, it made sense and felt so genuine. We get plenty of time with the Sterling family (something I’ll never complain about!).

My Favorite Quotes:
• “You’re damn amazing just the way you are.”
• “You’re making me discover new things about myself, and I like them.”
• “You deserve good things.”
• “I want you here with me. I want you.”
• “I care about you so damn much.”
• “I’ve needed you from the very beginning. I haven’t stopped needing you since.”
• “I love you with all your faults.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy
5/10 Fake Relationship
3/10 Forced Proximity
6/10 The CEO Type

5 Star Review Secret Kisses (The Sterling Brothers #3) by Layla Hagen

This is Griffin Sterling and accountant Phoebe’s fake relationship story and what a wonderful addition to the series.

Their meet cute was unusual and what follows is a roller coaster of a story that had me both shaking my head and smiling.

Secret Kisses is one of my favourite reads from Layla Hagen. The characters were easy to relate to and I quickly became invested in their complicated story.

The Sterling brothers and their at times unwanted options had me laughing out loud as well as shaking my head.

I fell hard and fast for Griffin, a man who never planned on having a relationship and yet when he fell, he fell hard. Phoebe has been through so much with her ex fiance (a real piece of work) and I loved how Griffin had her back.

I really enjoyed the development of their relationship, even though it started as fake to get Griffin a deal and the love that all found together.

Narrated by Stephen Dexter and Emma Wilder both did a wonderful job with their narration. They brought the characters and story to life for me and were well voices suited to the characters and voices were pleasant and easy to listen too.

Loved Phoebe and Griffin story. I was hooked from the first few pages. Their chemistry was electric, and the banter was sharp. What starts as a fake dating setup turns into a beautifully layered romance.

What happens when you want to invest in a dating app, only for the founder to tell you it's for people looking for their forever person, and your playboy reputation makes him think you are the exact opposite? You find a gorgeous girl to be your fake girlfriend and convince him he's wrong. The only catch is that somewhere along the way, she starts changing your mind about love and relationships altogether.

The Sterling Brothers are back, and they're as lovable as ever. They always show up for one another, even if that means cooking up fake dating plans that spiral into real feelings. Griffin falling hard and fast for Phoebe is swoonworthy. He's protective, a little possessive, and cares deeply. It's everything Phoebe deserves after dealing with her absolute nightmare of an ex!

If you enjoy this series or you're in the mood for a swoony billionaire surrounded by a whole crew of charming brothers, this one is worth picking up.

Then a handsome stranger comes to her rescue and saves the day (& her from feeling embarrassed). Griffin and Phoebe, a great fake relationship that develops into the real thing.
This book has it all, a cute romance, a nasty ex for Phoebe, family catch up time and scorching chemistry.
Phoebe has had a tough time and is rescued by the strong, sexy, caring Griffin. Griffin doesn’t do serious relationships but he is smitten, causing a lot of laughter among his family. If you have read the other books there is catch up time with other characters always enjoyable.
Phoebe and Griffin make a great couple and both learn what is important to them along the way, a throughly good read.

Griffin's playboy rep has finally come back to bite him where it hurts - his business. Now he needs damage control, but it takes the form of something(one) unexpected - helping a beautiful woman, which in turn nets him a fake date to help him close his deal. Spending time with Phoebe is having him realize that those relationships his brothers have been settling into actually might be for him. She's different than the women he normally associates with - she's sweet, down to earth and full of sass. Might this relationship and commitment-phobic playboy be falling head over heels?

For someone so allergic to relationships, Griffin sure fell hard and fast for Phoebe, but it's no wonder because she's awesome - sweet, sassy, strong and loving. She deserved an amazing man to love her and treat her the opposite of the way her terrible ex had, and that man was Griffin. I do so love it when a player is brought to his knees by love like Griffin - so much fun, lots of delicious spice, and a family around for support, love and of course funny shenanigans. I love the Sterling brothers, can't wait for Wyatt's story next, Midnight Kisses.

Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Secret Kisses! It is the third book in her The Sterling Brothers series; Secret Kisses is a wonderful fake dating love story. I was hooked from the first few pages, and I loved every moment on every page of Secret Kisses it was impossible to put down. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Secret Kisses and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I have discovered that whatever Layla Hagen writes, I will love to read. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? Secret Kisses is the love story of Griffin Sterling, co-owner of Sterling Investments with his brothers, a successful brokerage and financial services company and Phoebe, an accountant. Phoebe is meeting her ex-boyfriend, Marshall, at The Loft to discuss the house they own together. Griffin is meeting Jude Carson at the same bar to discuss a potential investment opportunity in Jude’s dating platform company. Phoebe’s best friend, Veronica is sitting at the bar watching Phoebe’ interactions with Marshall, Griffin volunteers to be Phoebe’s boyfriend. The following day, Phoebe comments on a photo of Griffin on social media. Griffin’s brothers suggest a fake girlfriend. Griffin reaches out to Phoebe for help in closing the investment deal with Jude. Jude was not interested in Griffin’s investment, because Griffin’s dating reputation does not align with his dating platform’s mission. Griffin is interested in Phoebe, but neither one is looking for a relationship. Phoebe believes their time together is just fake dating. Things change between Phoebe and Griffin as they spend time together fake dating, especially on their day with Jude and Emma Carson. Conversation between Phoebe and Griffin flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Griffin constantly flirting and dirty talking to Phoebe. The heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Secret Kisses are one of my favorite parts of the book, especially everything that Phoebe shares regarding her relationship with Marshall and their house. I love Phoebe and Griffin’s love story, and all the plot twists and surprises that changes things for Griffin and Phoebe, their relationship, and how things quickly heat up. Their relationship is put to the test with the plot twist, but I love everything that Griffin does to resolve it. I love everything that Griffin does for Phoebe, especially how he helps her find a place to live when the house sells. Griffin and Phoebe are willing to make changes in their lives to have a life with one another, because of their love for one another. I love the text stream between Phoebe and Griffin and Griffin and his brothers, it is one of my favorite parts of the story. I love the perfect ending of Phoebe and Griffin’s love story, with my favorite part of the story Griffin’s proposal to Phoebe, especially the ring and Griffin’s comment about the ring. Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy men. Not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another amazing book. She has once again proven that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. Secret Kisses is filled with all those elements that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments and the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Secret Kisses. I love Phoebe and Griffin’s story and the descriptions of the California setting, the characters, and the family dynamic in Secret Kisses, the characters feel like family and friends. I love Phoebe’s relationship with Duncan’s son, Jeremy. I enjoy all the interactions among the Sterling brothers; it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love Phoebe’s relationship with her best friend, Veronica. I loved catching up with the other Sterling couples. I highly recommend this sizzling romance. I cannot wait to read the other Sterling brothers’ books. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Charming & Heartfelt!

Secret Kisses
The Sterling Brothers Book 3
By: Layla Hagen
Narrated by: Stephen Dexter, Emma Wilder

Layla Hagen puts her own unique spin on the fake dating trope, and I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created, to the perfectly cast narrators who brings it all to life from the pages to your ears. This third book in the series is Griffin and Phoebe’s story, and it stands on its own, though there are crossover characters from the earlier books, while knowing their backstories adds some depth, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details. You can not help but love the camaraderie among the Sterling brothers, their solid relationships and the witty dialogue and banter between them, which balances out their serious business conversations and matters. Griffin was looking for a new business venture to invest in, a dating app, but not an ordinary one, but when he speaks to the creator of the app, he does not think Griffin is a good fit. Griffin has a reputation of being a player and never wanting to settle down. After the meeting, he sits at the bar of the trendy restaurant he had his meeting, and he overhears the conversation the two women next to him were having. Phoebe was heartbroken when her long-term boyfriend, she was meeting him that night and wanted her friend, Veronica, nearby for support, Veronica did better than that, got Griffin, who volunteered to pretend to be Phoebe’s boyfriend, went over and interrupted the meeting with her ex. The plan worked like a charm, causing her ex to get frazzled and go on his not so merry way. That was not the last he would see of Phoebe, and since he saved her from having to deal with her ex, she offered to help him, to be his fake girlfriend so he could give another go at acquiring the investment he wants. Griffin knows she is a forever type of girl, but she made it clear she was not looking for any type of commitment or relationship, so he accepted her offer. It was wonderful to see their relationship morph into something so much more, and I thought they were great together and for each other. I loved all the layers of this beautifully plotted story and how everything unfolded, with the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Layla Hagen, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧Stephen Dexter and Emma Wilder did a fabulous job voicing and portraying the characters. They fully embodied their roles, grasping every aspect of their character’s personality, and were believable in every role, especially as the two leads, Griffin and Phoebe. These two are a fantastic pairing, with voices and talent that complement each other and an enthralling performance that keeps you glued to the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

After waiting what felt like forever for this book, I finally read it. I liked the story and have enjoyed reading about the Sterling Brothers thus far, but for whatever reason this one felt more slower than the others. It seemed like it dragged too and I’m not sure who or what to credit this to, maybe Phoebe? It’s not like this was a slow burn or anything, I think it just may have took a while for the story to kick into gear? I didn’t have any issues with Griffin or Phoebe. The only other thing I can think of, aside from the story itself dragging is the hesitancy between Phoebe and Griffin. I felt like while they started off “dating” as a ruse in the beginning and in order to get a deal out of it they never officially declared they got together. For this, it felt like it just happened. Maybe the reasoning for my confusion is probably because the entire time they were doing the ruse for the deal, they actually, technically, were dating and seeing each other even though a label was never put on it. Modern dating these days is foreign to me, so for me, it’s either you are together or you aren’t, why go in the gray area? It just confuses people, or maybe that’s just me. I think that’s what had me give this book a 4, the storyline was there, the steam, chemistry and desire was, and I did like the characters but their ruse dragged without even officially being declared they were an item. It just seemed like they agreed to be casual but then somewhere along the line they didn’t become casual anymore. Even when Phoebe and Griffin admit they are exclusive it felt like Griffin was the only one committed and Phoebe was still cautious but wanted to be with him. This was another added thing that went with my 4 rating. I felt like Phoebe was halfway the entire time with him, up until the very end. It just seemed like she was ready to bolt at any given moment and you could feel her hesitancy. It was in her thoughts even though her body was physically there. With this state, I could feel the story going slower and dragging so it made it harder for me to finish in my usual 2-3 days so instead it took me 4 days. This, and the fact that I’ve also been busy and haven’t really had time to relax and read like normal but onward and upward.

A typical and familiar fake dating setup but Layla transforms it into something warm, charming, and surprisingly heartfelt. Griffin Sterling has always been the brother least interested in romance, so watching him stumble into a pretend relationship with Phoebe is entertaining from the very beginning. What starts as a spur-of-the-moment solution to a business issue quickly becomes a connection that neither of them can ignore.

Phoebe is still reeling from a rough breakup when she meets Griffin under less than ideal circumstances. Her ex blindsides her with news that leaves her embarrassed and angry, and Griffin steps in with a kindness that surprises even him. Their arrangement begins as a way to help each other, yet it becomes clear almost immediately that the chemistry between them is very real.
The dynamic between Griffin and Phoebe is playful, sweet, and filled with the kind of tension that keeps the story moving effortlessly. Griffin’s slow shift from detached bachelor to a man completely taken with someone is especially delightful to witness. His family gives him endless grief as they watch him fall, which adds humor and warmth throughout the book. Phoebe fits into the Sterling world far more naturally than she expects, and her reactions to their teasing, loyalty, and energy bring even more life to the story.

The duet narration of the audio is great. A fast and engaging listen. The two narrators capture the personalities and emotions of the characters deftly, delivering a performance that feels expressive and genuine and bring the story to life in a charming way. Definitely loving Layla's audios.

Overall, this is a light, feel-good romance with plenty of spark, a lovable cast, and a couple whose pretend partnership grows into something that feels wholesome and deeply satisfying. It is an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys fake dating, family-driven stories, and low-angst chemistry that builds into something real.

Secret Kisses is the third book in The Sterling Brothers Series. This was the first book I read of this series but didn’t feel like I missed any context from the first two novels. This third book in the series showcases Griffin and Phoebe’s story.

Griffin has long avoided commitment in relationships, but when he is looking to become an investor in a dating app, the owner of the app is hesitant to partner with Griffin because of his reputation.

Phoebe is starting over after a break-up. She is trying to sell the home she had with her ex. She and her friend go to a bar for a meeting with Phoebe’s ex. It’s there where she meets Griffin. Griffin realizes his feelings for Phoebe as soon as he meets her even when he pretends to be with Phoebe to help her when her ex shows up.

As they get to know one another Phoebe says she’ll help Griffin with trying to be an investor for the dating app. As they continue to pretend to be in a relationship, their feelings for each other grow.

I liked Griffin’s patience and understanding as Phoebe was trying to move on from her ex and find her independence again. I also enjoyed seeing the dynamics among Griffin and his brothers and how his family welcomes Phoebe to the family.

Readers who enjoy fake dating, forced proximity, and no third act breakup stories will enjoy this novel. There are open door scenes.

I recommend the audiobook as well! Stephen Dexter and Emma Wilder are excellent narrators. This book is dual narration, and they both did a great job showcasing the chemistry of Griffin and Phoebe as well as the emotional depth of their characters.

I look forward to reading Layla Hagen other novels as well. Thank you to Layla Hagen and Wordsmith Publicity for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook! I received a copy of this book for free and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was gonna DNF @23% but I thought to myself that maybe it gets better
I made it to 48% and I can't do it anymore.

no human being talks the way the author wrote the dialogue.
and the rush of their relationship is so annoying. why are yall together so fast? youre strangers, youre supposed to be Faking it. why are you suddenly only thinking about spending time and boning each other? you spent one weekend together.
honestly the writing is what annoyed me the most. and the dialogue, AND the monologue.
no human talks to another like that,
no human thinks like that.
and for the love of God no human talks about themselves to others like that.
I know his character is supposed to be cocky and arrogant and womaniser but he talks as if hes listing characteristics about himself from a magazine. he talks about himself in such a manner that wants you to gauge your eyes out.
and please. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. you dont understand business, dont talk business, dont think business and DONT WRITE ABOUT BUSINESS. I know shit about finance but this whole "we founded a company but we own other companies" plot is just so horribly written, you'd think he graduated with an art degree and is just saying what his brothers told him to say when asked about work.
and wtf did she mean she doesn't know anything in the finance world. SHE IS AN ACCOUNTANT. SHE GRADUATED WITH AN ACOUNTING DEGREE! CANT GET MOTE INTO THE FINANCIAL WORLD THAN THAT. and even if her ex boyfriend made her work as his office manager or whatever the fuck that means, she still has a phone to research her field. the field she chose herself.
honestly this just wasted my time. it was so annoying. I keep saying the word but its the only word I can think of right now to describe my feelings while reading this book.

💋BOOK REVIEW💋

Secret Kisses - @laylahagen_author

Oh I really enjoyed this book. I love a fake dating story and add in a billionaire and I'm 100% in.

There was just something special about this book that got me in all the feels. I loved Griffin but Phoebe's vulnerability was written so well and she was so relatable. They just both had my heart.

Griffin is a successful Billionaire but he has a reputation for being a womanizer. This normally doesn't bother him. But when it costs him a major business deal he starts rethinking some of his ways.

Seeking advice from his brother's, one suggests that he finds a fake girlfriend which is absurd but then an opportunity arises and he suddenly finds that he does have a fake girlfriend in Phoebe.

He witnesses Phoebe getting humiliated by her ex in a bar. He's a piece of work and tells her that he dumped her and is going to marry someone else.

Griffin comes to her rescue by pretending to her her boyfriend and that's when they strike a deal. He helped her so she will help him. One business dinner so he can secure his business deal.

But it's never that simple is it? Soon it's a weekend at a beach house and things start to develop in an unforgettable night.

Phoebe was so cautious with her feelings and trying to protect her heart. She had been hurt badly but despite trying to stay guarded she couldn't help falling. Griffin proved himself to her over and over and I loved the way he tried to give her space when she needed it but then came to her rescue when needed. They really were great together and Phoebe had a fab sense of humour.

Another great addition to the series.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ loved it! great chemistry and characters, though a few moments didn’t fully hit. still highly recommend.
🌶️🌶️: mild spice, around 2 to 4 scenes, still tame sex scenes with a slight touch of kink and still romance focused

griffin is a young ceo with a reputation for being a womanizer, and when that image costs him a major business deal, he needs a solution fast. the answer appears in the form of phoebe, a sweet, hardworking woman he steps in to “rescue” after overhearing her ex belittle her in a bar. one bold kiss leads to a fake date meant to fix his image, but their plan quickly spirals into a weekend away, too much wine, and a night neither of them can ignore. phoebe tries to brush it off, still wounded from her past, but griffin is determined to show her there’s more to him than she thinks. now he just has to convince her that their fake relationship has become something real.

this was such a fun fake dating romance, and i loved how naturally their connection grew into something real and heartfelt. phoebe had this amazing vulnerability but she was such a quiet powerhouse and it made her so relatable, while griffin went from this playboy billionaire to someone soft and caring was amazing. their chemistry delicious, the banter was amazing, and it was still quite emotional while being this soft and lighted fun romance.

the duet narration was fantastic and, and both narrators captured the emotions and personalities so well, making it an easy, engaging listen from start to finish. emily wilder and steven dexter absolutely slayed it. thank you mla and Layla.

tropes: billionaire, fake dating, reformed playboy, only one bed, forced proximity

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The fake dating story and throwing in a billionaire was the perfect touch. There was something unique about this story that resonated with me emotionally. Griffin’s character was wonderful, but it was Phoebe’s vulnerability and relatability that really stood out—both characters won me over. Griffin is a successful billionaire known for his womanizing ways, which typically does not concern him. However, when this reputation threatens a major deal, he starts to reconsider his approach. After seeking advice from his brothers, one jokingly suggests finding a fake girlfriend—a ridiculous idea until an opportunity presents itself with Phoebe.
Griffin steps in to help Phoebe after witnessing her ex embarrass her in a bar, boasting about dumping her and marrying someone else. Griffin pretends to be her boyfriend, leading them to strike a mutually beneficial agreement: she’ll accompany him to a business dinner to help secure his deal. Of course, things quickly become more complicated. Soon they’re spending a weekend together at a beach house, sharing unforgettable moments.
Phoebe tries to protect her heart, having been deeply hurt before, but despite her caution, she finds herself falling for Griffin. He repeatedly proves himself to her, giving her space when needed but stepping in whenever she needs support. Their chemistry is undeniable, and Phoebe’s sharp sense of humor adds to their dynamic. This book was another fantastic addition to the series.

This was an absolute wonderful read. Griffin and Phoebe story was a different kind of storyline. it was very original, intense, and very hot. Phoebe had been in a toxic relationship with a all take and no give kind of guy. Phoebe had sacrificed and supported him while he rose to be a doctor. They bought a fixer upper house and had been living together when out of the blue he announced he wanted out. Phoebe was hurt and devastated. They met at a trendy bar to discuss selling the house. Her friend was there, watching from a distance when a handsome man approached the bar. Griffin noticed what was going on and Veronica said out loud how she wished she had hired someone to play Phoebe's boyfriend. Very out of character for Griffin, he volunteered. Things got out of hand very quickly. Griffin had just met with a potential investment head, and he had been turned down flat because of his man whoreing ways. Phoebe thought it would be a great way to help Griffin out by playing his girlfriend. She didn't even know who the Sterling family was. Phoebe wasn't use to the honesty and commitment level this family showed, most of all Griffin. Old doubts and insecurities kept creeping in. The question was, could she overcome them and built a totally new life. I highly recommend reading this book and the entire series. You will not be disappointed by the Sterling family. (Hint: The Sterling parents have news of their own in this book) HAPPY 📚 READING!

#Phoebe&Sterling #FakeDating=RealLove

Secret Kisses (The Sterling Brothers Book 3) by Layla Hagen is a charming, lighthearted romance. Griffen Sterling, a young CEO, and Phoebe, who is recovering from a recent breakup, meet under unusual circumstances. After an awkward encounter involving Phoebe’s ex following Griffen’s failed business pitch at a bar, they agree to fake a relationship for Griffen’s business reasons. This arrangement leads them to spend a night together, ultimately changing both their futures. Her ex-boyfriend’s actions have shattered Phoebe’s trust after he lived a double life while they shared their home for years. Griffen is living a single lifestyle and has never been in love or thought he would fall in love—at least until he meets Phoebe, who becomes his friend and begins to mean more to him. Can they find a way to fight for love despite the emotional insecurities haunting Phoebe, as well as Sterling’s need to determine who and what are his most important priorities in life, and whether Phoebe is “the someone” he wants a future with? The companion audiobook, narrated by Stephen Dexter and Emma Wilder, brings Secret Kisses to life, making listeners feel like part of the story. Their reading of the book captures every emotion Layla Hagen writes about, staying true to her romance. Layla Hagen's Secret Kisses offers an original romance that truly satisfies even the harshest critic.

***Audio Review***

Even stellar narration can save a book full of nothing. Secret Kisses is the third book in the new Sterling Brothers series by Layla Hagan and though they are all free to listen on Audible plus, I think I am done. All three of the books were essentially the same. Six billionaire brothers, each one meets a damsel in distress dressed up as a strong heroine. Heroine has a financial problem of some sort but refuses the help of the billionaire boyfriend. All three of the books have way too many sex scenes, no real conflict, and boring detailing of family interactions and dialogue. I can’t believe I skipped pages performed by some of the best narrators out there.

Griffin, the H, is the third billionaire brother and Phoebe, the h, is the woman wronged by an ex. The entire conflict revolved around a business deal and fake dating turned real…so boring! All three books feature Jeremy, the spoiled 10-year old son of billionaire brother #2. Jeremy’s dialogue and interactions in all three books make him seem more like a 5-year old…demanding gifts and personal gestures that the brothers gladly oblige…a Spiderman room in each of their homes…oh wait, he switched to a Batman room in Griffin’s home. I bet the author will continue with the over indulgence of spoiled Jeremy in all six books and the same damsel in distress trope saved by billionaire brother…predictable and boring!

Once again Layla bring us a guy who will have you swooning so hard! And a heroine that will have you cheering her! I fell in love right along with these characters in this amazing story! 5 Sterling Brother stars for this one!
Phoebe had dedicated the past six years to the man she thought she loved. She did everything for him, and then he told her, he's done, he's moving on, and they had just bought a house together, what the heck? When she goes to the bar to meet up with her ex, she's surprised when a hot guy, Griffin comes over pretending to be her new boyfriend! He even defends her to her ex! This is epic!
Griffin is at the bar, after a business meeting that didn't exactly go his way! The person he met with said he checked into him, and he's known as a womanizer. While yes he does enjoy women, that shouldn't have any baring on going into business with him. When he meets Phoebe, she offers to repay him for what he did for her with her ex, and pretend to be his girlfriend, and heck this could work to sway the other businessman!
Fake dating shouldn't be an issue, but for these two, it turns into some hot stuff action! These two are both so easy to fall for! I didn't want to put their story down, and it left me wanting more of them! This is a must read in this series, grab it asap!

Secret Kisses
The Sterling Brothers 3
By Layla Hagen
Narrated by Stephen Dexter, Emma Wilder

Griffin and Phoebe. An unlikely couple and their meet cute starts them out on a path sure to lead to unhappiness, right? Well Griffin knows he has doesn't want a relationship, but helping out Phoebe as her pretend boyfriend seemed the right thing to do. He was attracted to her, and it was easy for him. But when he finds out that he is losing a deal due to his lack of commitment, Phoebe offers to be his pretend girlfriend to give him the stability and loyalty he needs. And the story begins. Layla Hagen took me on a wonderful adventure with these two. As these two get deeper into their lies, the truth comes out. Fantastic characters, Griffin and Phoebe could not be more different proving how opposites attract. I love Griffin's family, the brothers as they love to get him trouble but are there at his side when needed. The love grows and the story is fantastic. Loved this one!

Stephen Dexter and Emma Wilder work so well together, it was like a movie in my mind. Dexter is Griffin and he starts him out a bit full of himself and slowly has him changing in the man he is meant to be, all with inflections in his voice. Wilder is Phoebe, a bit emotional yet lets her true self out, giving her the tone to let everyone know just who she is. Loved these two, they are perfectly cast.

Phoebe, she gave years to a man who didn't respect her, or love her the way he should have and while she was planning their future, he was planning it with someone else. After weeks of not seeing her ex he wants to meet her, what she doesn't expect is having a fake boyfriend come to the rescue.

Griffin, he is a successful business man. He doesn't mesh his personal life with his professional, but when a business deal goes sideways due to his "playboy" ways. He finds himself doing something that feels wrong but also...extremely right which is pretending to have a fake girlfriend.

This is the third book in the Sterling series. I absolutely loved this fake dating romance.

Griffin and Phoebe's connection was so amazing, I absolutely loved the development of their relationship.

Even though it was supposed to be a fake relationship, lines were blurred from the get go. It was all to real for Griffin and he didn't want to spend a minute thinking it was fake. The chemistry was 🔥 and I just loved every second of it.

Even after I took some time to think about my feelings about this book, I still couldn't settle on my exact feelings. On one hand, I liked that we finally got some kind of conflict, but on the other, not only did it feel weird but it also made me dislike Griffin. And if I want to be honest, neither of the characters made a good impression on me. Griffin was just not book boyfriend material. Or any sort of boyfriend material. I wasn't convinced that he actually had outgrown his ways and that Phoebe made any sort of difference in his life. When Phoebe comes to mind, I draw a blank. There is nothing that pops, and in all honesty, her friend had more personality than her. Everything that revolved around her was used as a plot to take things further rather than expand her personality. Her ex, Marshall, was used as a plot device and a comparison to Griffin. Her house, the one she dreamt of living in and fixing, was abandoned so that she could live with Griffin, and later on, cause conflict, and her work was mentioned only briefly. Her interests? Non-existent. On the other hand, Griffin was more fleshed out. We saw his family (obviously) and the dynamic between them, his business, and we learnt more little things about him. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the book, but Wyatt seems like he has to say a very interesting story.
