It's Labor Day weekend in Eldrich. A local witch casts a love spell that goes spectacularly wrong, and Meaghan Keele—impervious to magic—has to figure out what happened and how to fix it before everybody kills each other.
But that's not her only problem. The dark wizards known as the Order are back in town, taking advantage of the chaos to summon mysterious creatures with the power to destroy humanity.
Accompanied by a shifting band of allies, including a medium, a leprechaun, a would-be shaman, a government wizard, a love sick cop, and a jealous witch, Meaghan has to fight her way through a town gone mad to a final confrontation in her office in Eldrich City Hall.
At an age where her biggest problems should be hot flashes and saving for retirement, Meaghan has to figure out—once again—how to save the world.

I liked the first book in this series much better. To be honest, I had a hard time getting into this one. It lacked the adventure aspect. I can officially say I'm done with this series now. At least it was offered on kindleunlimited.

All the great parts of book 1 were lost here
Crushed by Laura Korean is the second book in the series. What made the series previously was the the characters were relatable. The second book the author tried to give a little to do many characters which just left me feeling like I needed a diagram to keep up. Plus so many characters required that much more dialogue and it's hard to move the plot forward with that much talking. These stories need better editing.

Highly original series

Oh! Oh! Oh! I did not know Crushed was on Goodreads! Crushed continues the story of Eldrich and is absolutely awesome ...my opinion is in no way influenced by the joy of being asked to beta read Crushed. Meaghan's continuing story, and the story of Eldrich, really is very good. Kirwan keeps Meaghan, and her reactions to this scary new world, very real. Yes, Meaghan still has white hair, bad knees, and a wicked saucepan.

I was looking forward to this second book, but ended a bit disappointed. There was so ugh bad language. It was present in the first book, but it wasn't as distracting as in this book.
The evil Meaghan is fighting is powerful. Jamie is not recovering well from the experiences in Fahraya from the first book. The energies flowing around him are creating problems. His wife plays an important role in saving the day in this book

Fast paced fantasy fun
Fast pace, tons of stuff going on and a real roller coaster of a ride for our plucky heroine. Finished first book, bought and read this one and now on to the next one! Hope she keeps them coming
