David Henderson is willing to do just about anything to stop his father from selling the family's successful automotive dealership. And that means proving to his pops that he's serious about his future. Even getting married and having kids is on the table - especially when the love of his life, a woman he hurt through foolish mistakes, walks back in on his brother's arm. He vows he'll grab this second chance to make things right.
Sandra Miller didn't think twice about the opportunity to move to a new city for her career. But the success she needs comes at a high price: she'll have to partner with David Henderson, the man who said he loved her then crushed her heart. He's making it clear he wants her back, but is the potential personal pain worth the professional gain?
Neither can ignore the desire simmering between them. But the mistrust and jealousy that tore them apart before is determined to prevent a replay of their love.
Love’s Replay is part of Synithia Williams’ Henderson Family series and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In this installment, second son David Henderson is determined to stop his father from selling the family’s automotive dealership. His father believes David sacrificed a lot and reluctantly stepped into the role after graduation. Now years later his father is trying to sell the business so that David can find happiness. David is trying to convince his father that he wants the business and will do just about anything to stop the sale, even agreeing to getting married and having kids. While David is trying to convince his father, an unexpected surprise shows up at his birthday bash, the love of his life, who David hurt deeply in college and now vows to win her heart.
Sandra Miller’s career has taken her closer to home but paves a direct path to David. She must work with David, who has made his intentions clear, he wants a second chance. Is Sandra willing to risk heartbreak a second time, or will she allow past hurts to interfere and tell David to take a hike. Readers must pick up a copy of Love’s Replay; they will not be disappointed.
I loved the theme of second chance at love, however, this story also touches on forgiveness and realizing one’s true passion. Readers will glimpse David’s turmoil and how he was deeply affected by his past actions when he and Sandra dated during college. Those actions shaped how David celebrated his birthday and always thought of Sandra. Sandra’s character portrayed her as a career driven female that once she encounters David again, discovers her feelings have not changed. She must make a tough decision, forgive and take a chance on David or pursue her career. Of course drama rears its head during this couple’s journey that comes from an unexpected source, but they forge on to reconnect. Old hurts and distrust will arise to test this couple and could possibly destroy the fragile ground they have gained.
This was truly an engaging story that flowed and the dialogue was appropriate for the setting. Readers will be rooting for this couple’s happiness. Overall this was a great read.
I loved this. David and Sandra were together in college. He screwed up and then let her walk away. He hasn't been able to forget her. He knows it was his fault, but when she unexpectedly walks back into his life years later he's not going to let the opportunity pass. I love second chances and this was a good one. You can see that they love each other but they keep making mistakes. Neither wants to get hurt again. You can't help but want to see them together. This was both sweet and plenty steamy. I highly enjoyed this and now I want to read about the other brothers!
I enjoyed reading Sandra and David's story. It took them both a while to realize that they belonged to each other but they finally got it together. I'm also glad David's dad decided not to sell the business he worked so hard to make a success. It would have been a waste to just throw it away.
A good second chance Novel! Sandra & David needed this second chance & I’m happy they got it back together. They deserved each other. Although there was bumps in the road I’m happy everything worked out for them. Great job to the author
Despite the miss communication we all have about people, we should take time to listen to our hearts, an not be lead by what your friends say they are planning something that is for them and not you.
Very good, but some inconsistencies. She makes a big deal in the beginning of only drinking tea yet in Seattle is a coffee-holic. I did like how replay tied in with "confession of my love".
I really enjoyed David and Sandra’s story. They both worked my nerves but this was an excellent one. Can’t wait to read more of the Henderson Brothers.
I'm a sucker for books about reunited first loves, so this one was right up my alley; although David and Sandra worked my nerves greatly. Sandra still was very angry with David for the event leading up to their breakup, and rightfully so, but how she thought she was gonna work with him without awakening her feelings for him was beyond me. And though I thought the whole Kareem and Sandra thing was crazy, I liked that David tried to be open and honest with Sandra about his feelings for her. As the series proceeds, I hope that David and Kareem are able to resolve their differences; I hate to see them at odds like this.
Yvonne, Yvonne, Yvonne! With friends like her, who needs enemies! I was so ready to find out what was up with her, because all of that anger and hostitility she felt for David, was getting to be crazy. I must admit thather bombshell of a secret, took me completely by surprise. That could have been turned into a whole other thing, but I think the author handled the whole situation quite nicely.
As usual Ms. Williams brings the heat. And the way they would get interrupted when David wanted to get busy? Hilarious! Especially the scene with the geese. Those geese were like, 'Nah man, this is our spot! You gotta move on!' LOL!
I've been anxiously awaiting Kareem's story since we met him in Book 1, but I'm almost certain that he's taking his time telling it, so I'm betting that Aaron's story is going to be next. I enjoyed his scenes in this one, so I can't wait to see what you have in store for him.
I read "Making It Real" before this book. So "Love's Replay" answered a lot of questions for me. I now understand the reasons for the attraction Kareem feels towards Sandra. But Yvonne was the unexpected shocker in this story! David and Sandra have great chemistry but their communication skills need lots of work. I loved the camaraderie and fireworks between the Henderson Brothers. The "disagreement" was hilarious! Great story!
