Still surprisingly good. Still a lot of attention to character. Still willing to slow walk everything to allow for detail and suspense.
There are some aspects of this "character" stuff that are cliche. And by cliche, I suppose we could admit everything is cliche. But what about the friend of the robot who doubts that robots are good for humanity? Do you think his life will be saved by a robot and he will have a dramatic about face? OR do you think he will be unable to saved by a robot and fill everyone with his doubts, including the main character?
There are two choices, right?
But telling good stories within the boundary of a licensed and only partly developed world is tough. The gritty reboot, e.g., Power/RANGER, is a pretty common way to do this. I suspect clean, bright, and earnest is the hardest of all.
