Parents Who Killed Their Children: Filicide This collection of "Filicidal Killers" provides a gripping overview of how things can go horribly wrong in once-loving families. This book depicts ten of the most notorious and horrific cases of homicidal parental units out of control. People like--Andrea Yates, Diane Downs, Susan Smith, and Jeffrey MacDonald--who received a great deal of media attention. The author explores the reasons; from addiction to postpartum psychosis, insanity to altruism.
"These are 3 books that you will want to keep in your library to read and read again. Every day we are faced with the news of another serial killer or a senseless murder. If for no other reason, read these to stay aware of the dangers that face us, and to watch out for those that may not can watch out for themselves. There are many stories told in this collection, each one horrific. Mr. Parker is a no nonsense writer, he gives the facts (as hard as they are to read) in a straight forward manner. A great deal on this box set." -- Amazon Customer
"I love how these books are packed full of facts and details but also have that wonderfully descriptive quality of fiction that makes me lose myself in the story. Several of these stories have stuck with me and I find myself revisiting them time and again as well as sharing them with other readers. I heartily recommend not only for the content, but the economical price as well." -- Kelly Sons

Pronouns were wrong, verb forms made up, names were confused. Sometimes the text read like a (bad) mechanical translation from another language to English. At points I couldn't figure out what the author was trying to say.
There is no shortage of this type of book...I encourage the thoughtful reader to look elsewhere.
Not only is the writing pendantic and convoluted, the writing style does not read as though English is the native language of the author. This book also has several distinctly different writing styles, some more readable than others. I can see why this book is published by RJ Parker publishing. You sometimes see a self published book when other publishers are not available; however, the book would have benefited enormously from other proofreaders or editors. It is at least worth what you pay for it on Kindle Unlimited. I'm just no sure if it is worth the amount of your time it takes to wade through it.uj
The author should have asked someone to edit his writing before publishing.
All three books in this volume were riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. In addition, the author chose to fill each story with personal opinions and conjecture which detracted from the actual known facts of each case. I think that I am most glad that I didn't actually buy this volume but instead checked it out through the Amazon prime lending library. Needless to say, I won't be reading anything else from this author.
These books include a wealth of information. If you're curious about the macabre, wonder about the details of many of the homicides you've read about the paper, or are just fascinated by what humans can do to one another, this is the book for you. It's well written. The author is knowledgeable on the topic, and as I said previously, it contains a TON of details on a great number of events. This volume is definitely well worth the read. I would highly recommend it if this is a topic you're interested on!
For some reason, a good proportion of the content is written with a lack of clarity and native language usage, which leaves this reader wondering if a complete re-write could be a good idea. Odd use of terminology and language phrasing causes interruptions when the reader must pause and analyse parts of the narrative in order to understand the writer’s intent.
It could almost appear that the writing isn’t all produced by a native English speaker.
However, packed with facts and dates, it could be an aid for researchers.
I was spellbound by the unfortunate truth in this book. Taking into consideration, the occasional grammar errors, this is riveting reading. The stories of how men, woman, husbands and wives, can take the lives of completely innocent people, especially, children, is mind boggling. This book is really worth the time to read, it will leave you, like me, breathless and confused, how anyone, can deliberately kill someone without flinching.
Large amounts of details are able to help a picture of these true horrors. A long read, but definitely worth it if this interests you. Some well known cases covered, as well as lesser known ones, meaning there is something to learn.
A good read from start to finish with just enough information on each case. I borrowed it from the Kindle library but would easily have paid the asking price.
All I can say is it was a good read but heartbreaking at times. Although I gave it 5* rating, the books could have been written a lille better like covering more cases.
Even though this is not a series to be happy about. I did like how the author detailed everything so I can draw a picture in my mind about events that happened.
If you like true crime this series is for you. It gives you the crimes without going into police talk that you don't understand. It is well written and lets you see the other side of a persons mind.
These three books are a great introduction to R.J. Parker's writing. It's well written and the different true crime stories are interesting. I read the whole collection in one sitting because it was so good.
Good Book if interested in details on murderers. Easy to read, and amazing to read how cruel people can be to other human beings! Even their own family!
