I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.

My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.

When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading (of course!), baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

Song of the abyss
Lindsey Avalon
This was a great read I Loved the brother’s rivalry and unique things that Nerissa has. Lindsay’s dark romance is a must read and is completely enjoyable. She has out done herself with this book. I can’t wait to read another.
Himesh- lord of the snow from the time of his birth he had a coldness surrounding him but, he was to be kind and never let anyone forget it. His odd ice blue eyes were awkward but the only difference is from his younger twin.

Lyudf- the fire wolf- with his golden eyes and compassion for all never deserved the way his twin treated him but his brother had always disliked him and even wished he was never born. Coming home for his brother’s wedding is a mistake.
Nerissa a princess of the selkies her mother married her to Hamish but even from the start she knew he unsettled her like no other. She knew she would have to hide her other skin. After the wedding who would have thought the groom would try to kill the bride and blame the brother……

Now Lyudf and nerissa have one thing in common. Revenge against Hamish…..
“Princess you wear emotions for the world to bear wildness. You never stood a chance against my brother you’re not going to let him win.”

I read this story when it was included in an anthology previously, and at the time I thought it deserved two stars. And that was me being generous. After following Lindsay Avalon's writing career, I am glad to see her writing has improved immensely and this story is so much better than the original version (which read as a very poorly edited first draft) that now it is when it deserves five stars.
If you think this is your typical story with twins, being one good and the other evil, think twice. Selkies and other elements make of this story a gripping read, with an interesting plot development, an excellent pace, and the right dose of thrill to make you keep on reading.
Will Lyulf survive to the curse of having an evil twin? Will Himesh be successful with his cruel plans? Will Nerissa be forever trapped in between worlds? What happened to her skin? In order to answer those questions, you will need to read the story. You are in for a treat.

I probably have read all of Lindsay's work and it just gets better and better with each book. This one is most interesting because it involves twins. I am also fascinated when it comes to twins like is one really evil or is one really fighting on the good side? The Queen knew one was evil and the other wasn't. Lyulf and Himesh are one hell of a pair. I don't want to give away to much of the book because it is a short book. Just trust me read this book! Everything you think you know about twins you were wrong.

I am a person new to reading these books. I found this book to be a cool new type of shifter a half seal half human to be a nice spin. I am going to have to read more works by Sidney Avalon to see what her other reads are like. Not sure where I stand on the whole good twin vs evil twin but it really works well for the plot of this book. I really look forward to hopefully more books like this from this author.

I have always thought that Lindsay Avalon had a very unique way of writing that would totally engross me in a world that was different but so believable and I wasn't wrong. She has written another great book!!

The uniqueness of Narissa and the rivalry of the twin brothers leads to a storyline that is never boring or what you would expect. This book grabs a hold of you and keeps you roped in until the very end.

Thank you Lindsay for another great book!!

Loved it!!

What a great story! I love how the author showed how jealousy and cruelty can sometimes go hand in hand. And how the thought of power can go to a person's head. I don't want to be a spoiler so I won't I will just say this story was amazing and love the mystical quality to it and how taking back your life and living it fear free is the best power there is! And true love prevails!

Interesting. A Selkie princess arranged to marry a deranged man who attempts to murder her on their wedding day......the same man who has tried to murder his brother his whole life.
But he doesn't realise there's nothing worse than a woman who survives a murder attempt!

This is a suspenseful fantasy novella that turns to romance. The writing was great! There was especially good characterization as well. This was a quite a unique read!
