A very good book, Highly detailed , maybe too detailed for Med students and sometimes I felt that it was time consuming, and it would be suitable for post-graduate students rather than undergraduates,
"Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews" would be a better choice if you are looking for a concise beautifully illustrated Textbook.

the book was so unclear for my stage which learn as it is prepare for post graduate students ..
just with help of our doctors we could able to understand some chapters , and some topics which highly related to our need for this two following years .

Biochemię lubi się, albo się nie lubi. Ewentualnie uczucia do niej zależą od tego, z kim się ma te zajęcia :)
Książka nie jest raczej z tych przyjaznych studentowi, ale jest całkiem mądrze napisana. Nie wina podręcznika, że biochemia jest taka, jaka jest. Bo jaka jest biochemia - każdy widzi.
To opinię wymyśliłam... wszystko przez to, że mi się cykl Krebsa przed oczami pojawił, a mam przyjemniejsze wspomnienia z lat studiów, serio!
Nie lubiłyśmy się z biochemią za bardzo, jakoś nie po drodze nam było ;)

You were confusing. You were hard. But you were so interesting!!

I understand now when we eat carbs, protein, and fats :-). The body is one complex machine. It's awesome what it does to makes us function. And crazy how dangerous too little or tooo much of anything is so bad for you! Preventative stuff, good food and exercise, is imperative

now that my biochem classes are coming to an end, i just wanted to hop on here and say how heavy harper biochemistry is—in every possible way: the weight, the price, but most notably... the *contents* 💔😔 biochem had been a hell of a nightmare but thank god you made it easier, sorry i doubted you just because some other med students say you're overrated 🤡

Този учебник няма да ви научи на биохимия. Пробвайте с клипчета или с други учебници. Този е писан от 5,6 различни автора, и е по-скоро като да учиш от домашното на някой друг. Написал го е колкото да мине, предполагам може да е полезно, но ако ще се инвестира време в това са се чете английски учебник, по-добре да е някой който РЕАЛНО ти обяснява нещата добре, а не е комбинация от обзорни статии.

Ако разбирате от химия, биохимия, физиология и генетика ще можете да разберете и следите учебника, но пък от друга страна, ако вече знаете достатъчно от тези предмети, за какво ви е да четете учебник по биохимия. Този учебник е просто едно "отбиване на нормера" сложено в хубава корица. Няма смисъл. Четете някой учебник писан от един, два автора, които реално са се интересували от това как ще звучат думите им когато някой ги чете. И са се опитали да обяснят нещата добре и са си оставили името на корицата (като хистологията на Рос и Павлина), а не като Биохимията на Харпър. Биохимията на Харпър не е писана от Харпър, а от 5, 6 други хора, които не ми е ясно от къде са се появили, какви са и пр.

С две думи:
Картинките са грозни и с ужасни цветове, текста е излишно сложен и стила се сменя от глава на глава. Темите на Виктор са единствените които стават. Обобщителните теми за въглехидратите, липидите и нуклеотидите в тялото не са лоши, но специалните не стават, особено тези в края на учебника - те са пълна боза.
Не става.

Quite good in explaining matters, sometimes though the graphics didn't synchronize too well with the text, but very helpful images.
Another drawback would be that it settled onto too much details, but overall it is fairly well structured, a very good index.
The Contents and Chapter-naming need to be updated for students taking the subject, but coming down to the information provided it is worth the money.

Good, concise, and, as the title says, illustrated. If you find this lacking, get Devlin's Textbook of Biochemistry.
