Hi. I’m Rhoda. I write smart contemporary romantic comedy. In real life, I’m a former scientist who now works in intellectual property. The rest of the time I’m a sensible grown up Mum.

I prefer my heroes to be nice guys with a sense of humour and me heroines to be smart and independent. If you like Mhairi McFarlane or Sophie Kinsella, you'll probably like my books tool

I also write women's fiction, often featuring Sri Lankan characters, under the name Jeevani Charika.

A few of my novels have been shortlisted for prestigious awards. If you want to 'try before you buy', you can get a free novella by signing up to my newsletter via my website: www.rhodabaxter.com

Before I read, I wasn't sure about the "tycoon" part, but I do like hidden identity when done well and the author is a favourite for a few reasons including our shared preference for sweet, not at all "alpha male" romance heroes, so I didn't hesitate much. Now I can confirm that Tristan/Chris is a lovely man, perfect for Maddie even if meeting her while undercover was particularly unfortunate considering that her ex had turned out to be a con artist.
I loved how real Tristan actually was when talking to Maddie as Chris, and it was fun to watch them make a miniature Christmas village ready for display (the kind of thing that makes me wish there was a movie version so we could see instead of just imagine how cute it all looked).
