It’s a dangerous thing, being bonded to a monster.
Two years ago, Harper lost her closest friend. Everyone insists Evie is just missing, but Harper knows better than to entertain pointless hope. Besides, she doesn’t have time to grieve. The club she’s working at is a safety hazard, and her ex refuses to leave her alone, no matter how creatively she snaps at him. A hard life. One she has accepted will never change.
As the world’s only day-walking vampire, Maya produces terror in everyone around her. When the Court of Chains sends her to retrieve the chosen family of a beloved Court member, she’s relieved to get away from the constant staring. But the job isn’t as simple as first assumed.
A wolf is stalking her charge, having marked her as his. A feeling Maya shouldn’t understand, but which is echoed in her own body. The strange woman is sharp, snappy, and so entrancing that any threat pointed her way makes the world turn red. Though Maya never lets her fangs extend, every time she looks at Harper Montgomery, she is dying to have a taste.
Sun-Kissed Fangs is a sapphic paranormal romance about learning how to hope, trust, and love, even when you think yourself unworthy.
Rawnie Sabor is an author of fantasy romances filled with troubled people and gorgeous monsters.
She delights in everything dark and dreamy, especially sapphic love stories with a heartache-inducing relationship at their center. Rawnie lives in a Scandinavian harbor town and spends most of her time either writing or thinking about writing. A certified night owl, her free evenings involve researching obscure folklore or conjuring story ideas for her ever-growing fantasy worlds.
Much like Sabor’s other novels I’ve read, once I picked this up I had a hard time putting it back down. I’ve been eagerly waiting to read Maya’s story for a while, I’m so glad this is out now!
While this wasn’t my favorite in the series, it was a great time and I really enjoyed both Maya and Harper as characters. Sabor’s sapphic novels will always be must-reads for me.
Okay. Once again, I inhaled this freaking book. Rawnie had me in a literal choke hold with these characters.
Maya has been so interesting to me since I met her in Wrath and Patience (yes, I read a straight romance. It was written by Rawnie. Sue me. 😂). Knowing her back story just made me love getting to know her that much more.
She lived a life no one deserved and became something she hated. Until Maya met Harper, who didn't care what everyone else was saying. She was given a fair shot, and she freaking deserved it.
Harper got dealt a less than ideal hand and did what she could. She got lost for a while, but then found a family that loved her like she deserved. When she was at her lowest point, Trish, Evie (yes, that Evie), Nelle, and little Lucas were there to help her.
Her initial reluctance was so well written and believable. Seeing Harper with Maya was like night and day. Alone, Harper was closed off and kind of cold. With Maya, she was warm, bright, and so much more.
The entirety of the story was so well crafted. Even Kieran and his little quest. (No spoilers, I promise). Aleksander gained a bit more respect from me as well. He was a great mentor for Maya, and I honestly believe he helped her accept herself, as well as Harper's refusal to listen to the rumors.
Oh my lord, I loved this story. Maya and Harper have ripped second place from Vex and Angela so easily. Their chemistry, back stories, and growth, both together and individually, just made them jump to second.
They're right behind Reyna and Violet. But it's going to take a lot to beat those two.
Seriously, if you haven't, please, please, please check out the entire sapphic Court of Chains series. Every book is phenomenal, the characters will hook you, and the story will keep you reading.
What.A.Ride. How do I even put this experience into words. I loved Maya as a side character in Green Eyed Monster and I loved her even more as one of the MCs here. And Harper. God Harper. What an actual hot mess and I'm kind of in love with her. Both women are so layered and, not only is their chemistry off the charts, but they stand up so well as individual characters as well.
This book had it all, as all of Rawnie's do. Action, secrets, sex, witty characters. There are a bunch of familiar faces that show up which is one of my favorite parts of an interconnected standalone.
I'd have read 500 more pages of Maya and Harper's story and I cannot wait to see what Rawnie puts out next.
