I want to punch my arrogant, hot co-star in his stupid, beautiful face.
I have to pretend to love Roman Everett on screen, and thanks to the film studio, I have to fake date him too. But it’s hard to hate someone who looks like… that.
Not only do I want to punch that beautiful face, I also want to kiss it.
What’s worse? I’m trying to live up to everyone’s expectations of me. Just when I feel like I’m about to break, Roman surprises me and seems like someone I can lean on.
Roman Everett may be a great actor on-screen… but the role he plays in our relationship is feeling less like a character, and more like he might really want this.
Lovestruck is a loathe to love fake dating romance with spicy scenes and a happily-ever-after. It is the second book in the Starlight Studios Series, and can be read as a standalone.

Ivy Dawes has always had an over-active imagination. Since writing her first book at the age of four (which she scribbled down and tried to give to the library), she's always had a series of stories on the go in her mind. Ivy is an avid lover of ghost shows, good books, and hot chocolate. She is currently living out her happily ever after in Alberta, Canada, with her husband and two children.
Wow this was so good. I am down so bad for the fake dating troupe. It has me foaming at the mouth everytime.
I absolutely love Clover and Roman. The concept of struggling with body image was written so well along with the consequences of outside criticism. My absolute favorite thing about this is how Clover was not a doormat to Roman. I have read way too many books where that’s the case and it was refreshing having a fmc who stood up for herself. I pretty much read this entire thing in one sitting, could not put it down.
The ending was a tad unnecessary, it was resolved so quickly there was zero point for it. I do love everything else otherwise. 4.5 stars.
a perfect cosy loathe-to-lovers read with the perfect amount of banter and spice. even though they didn’t like each other, they definitely still had hidden feelings for one another which is why i wouldn’t say it’s a true enemies to lovers - i also found the story went a bit quick in terms of one moment they were fake dating and the next they were confessing their love for each other but over all i loved the the romance and both the characters were super likeable - the representation of different mental health issues and the use of side characters to add to the story - can’t wait to read more from this author!
I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Lovestruck from the author! 🫶
Lovestruck is such a heartwarming story and I loved it! 🥹💕 This is the first book I have ever read from Ivy Dawes and it won’t be my last because I plan on going and reading Starstruck. Lovestruck is the second book in the series but is easily read as a stand-alone! 🫶
Clover is such a determined FMC! 🫶 She has been spending years chasing her dream of getting a big break in the Hollywood industry. She finally gets a big break in a superhero movie but the catch is that she needs to fake date her co-star Roman! 🤭 The loathing and tension between the both of them is the stuff I love most from an enemies to lovers situation and this did such a great job of that! 😍 The book is in dual POV so it was really cool getting to discover more and more about them both and the things they truly both struggle with! 🫂 I also love that there is a part of the book where they are at San Diego Comic Con and that just melted my heart! 🥰🫶 I have been to that so many times over the years so it truly felt so special with that being in there! ❤️
If you love enemies to lovers (loathe to love), forced proximity, fake dating, dual POV, rom-coms, workplace romance, movie set, and a book that will make you smile then this is the book for you! 🫶
Thank you Victory Editing and Netgalley for the ARC! I thought the book was entertaining overall, but it really struggled with pacing and flow. One thing I genuinely enjoyed, though, was Roman and Jill’s sibling dynamic. Their relationship felt natural and heartfelt, and their interactions added warmth and authenticity to the story. The way they supported each other and shared that unspoken sibling understanding was beautifully done. I actually found myself wishing there had been more scenes between them.
The writing itself felt a bit choppy, with abrupt transitions that made it hard to stay fully invested in the story. I wanted to love the relationship between Roman and Clover, but their chemistry just didn’t feel believable. They barely had any meaningful conversations or moments of real connection, yet we were suddenly expected to believe they had fallen in love. It all came across as rushed and underdeveloped.
The plot had potential, but it moved too quickly and lacked focus. There were too many time jumps between chapters, and some scenes felt inserted without a clear purpose. At times, it almost seemed like the story didn’t know where it wanted to go. With stronger character development and a smoother, more consistent timeline, this could have been a more enjoyable read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ivy Dawes for the ARC! I ateeee this one up! This had everything I love in my romances. One bed, forced proximity, he falls first, loathe to love, celebrity romance. I found this to be an easy fast paced read with short chapters. I will definitely be reading more from Ivy!
really cute!!! a solid 3.75 stars spice: 2🌶️ the characters were really likeable and i loved that Clover had a back bone and stood her ground whenever she has to i feel like it was missing something, maybe making the plot more complex, idk, but overall a really cute read and i totally recommend reading it
Books have always been my happy place, and romance is the genre I never get tired of. No matter what kind of reading mood I’m in, romance is the one I always come back to. Out of all the tropes, fake relationship stories are one of my absolute favorites. The tension, the teasing, the moment when the characters realize they actually want it to be real… it just never gets old for me. So when I picked up this book, I was already pretty excited to see how it would go.
This story grabbed me right from the beginning. I was hooked almost immediately and really liked how both main characters were written. Usually, I end up liking one a little more than the other, but this time I honestly loved them both. They were flawed in ways that felt real, and even when they made some questionable choices, I understood where they were coming from. I especially connected with the FMC. I completely got her struggle with being her own worst critic, and I was rooting for her to finally give herself some grace.
The chemistry between the two of them was so good. Their “fake” relationship had plenty of fun and banter, but there was also a lot of heart underneath it all. Watching them go from pretending to caring for each other for real made me smile the whole way through. I found myself reading way later than I planned just to see how it would all play out.
By the end, I was really happy with how everything turned out. I do wish the epilogue had been a little longer, just because I wasn’t ready to let them go yet. Still, this book gave me everything I wanted: humor, heart, and that perfect dose of romantic tension. It’s the kind of story that makes me remember why I love this genre so much.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
Roman is your typical Hollywood heartthrob, born into an entertainment mogul family and headlining a big blockbuster franchise based on a famous superhero comic. Clover, on the other hand, is a struggling actress best known for an acne cream commercial. But when their chemistry read is off the charts, the studio not only casts Clover, but convinces them to fake date to promote the film. And we all know where that leads…
This was a fun loathe-to-love romance with some well executed fake dating shenanigans. The banter is sharp, the writing is flirty and engaging, and I found myself wanting to keep reading. I really appreciated how the story tackled body dysmorphia and anxiety in the spotlight, adding emotional depth and insight into both Clover and a secondary character without feeling heavy-handed. I did find the transition from fake dating to love confessions a bit rushed, but overall, I really enjoyed this story!
I’m excited to see what Ivy Dawes writes next, maybe about Roman’s sister Jill?
Read this if you’re looking for an enemies-to-lovers, fake dating romance with a Hollywood/PR twist!
Thank you to Ivy Dawes and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Lovestruck is a really nice book from start to finish. The writing style, banter, and character dynamics pull you in quite easily. This is the kind of romance that feels both comfortingly familiar and refreshingly unique. The chemistry between the two main characters is also there—it's cute, believable, and filled with emotional tension. The characters’ personal journeys are thoughtfully written, and by the end, you're really happy for them, not just as a couple, but as who they've become. #characterdevelopmentyay
Thank you lots to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
I’m truly obsessed with this book! It had some of my favorite tropes in it: enemies to lovers, Hollywood romance, and workplace romance. It had me laughing, swooning, and even about to cry at some points. In addition to all the fun Lovestruck tackles some deeper topics, like body dysmorphia and negative self talk. So definitely check your trigger warnings. Overall this was the perfect spicy Hollywood romance! I can’t wait for book 3 in the Starlight Studios series!!
I received an advance copy of Lovestruck and really enjoyed it! Reading Starstruck first made me love the characters even more. This sequel had all the charm, chemistry, and heart I was hoping for. The banter and tension between these two was so good. Sweet, emotional, and another great 4-star read from Ivy Dawes!
I love love love a good enemies to lovers/fake dating romance. I eat it up! And Clover and Roman did NOT disappoint!! The banter was chefs kiss, the spice was perfect!

I was so happy to receive this ARC! Thank you, I loved every second of it!!! I can’t wait to see what Jill gets up to!
this was such a cute book!! ever since reading starstruck i’ve been waiting for roman’s book and here we are. loved the banter between roman and clover.
I was so excited to read this book after finishing the first one. The author did an amazing shop train the characters and the struggles that they have within their own careers! I loved Clover and Roman’s story, and how they were so supportive of each other throughout the book. I read this page cover to cover throughout the day very easy read. This book is open door by the way.
Overall rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Tropes: fake dating, one bed, and enemies to lovers
I loved it! I was laughing, crying and ready to punch people right along with the characters. I found that sensitive topics were handled well and the spicy scenes were spicy without being "too much". Behind the romance part of the story is an important message of self love just as much as romantic love from a partner.
I throughly enjoyed this book and I'm honoured to have been selected as part of the launch team to read it before official release 💙✨️

Roman and Clover share undeniable, off-the-charts chemistry, and they're currently co-starring in a superhero film. Roman’s family owns Starlight Studios, the production company behind the movie, but his relationship with his father is tense and strained, which is something Clover notices almost immediately. Though their relationship is just for show, she quickly grows protective of him. Roman can be difficult at times, but that doesn’t stop Clover from fully committing to her role as the perfect fake girlfriend.
With some paparazzi scrutiny and relentless speculation about the authenticity of their relationship, Roman and Clover escape the spotlight by taking a short vacation during a break in filming. Away from the cameras, Roman begins to notice that Clover is quietly battling insecurities. Particularly about her body image and her relationship with food. She’s internalizing the harsh criticism from tabloids, focusing more on the negative noise than on how she actually feels in her own skin.
Roman becomes a steady source of support for Clover, helping her rebuild her confidence and reminding her of her worth beyond the headlines. But as Roman’s feelings for her deepen, he realizes he needs to come clean about a mistake he made early on in their relationship, which is something he can’t ignore if he wants a real chance with her. To make it right, Roman confronts his father, Deacon, even though it means walking straight into a mess. Deacon, true to form, only makes things worse.
Thankfully, Clover isn’t facing it all alone. Roman’s sister, Jill, has grown close to her and offers genuine friendship and support, without expecting anything in return. Meanwhile, Roman is ready to risk everything—his career, his family’s approval, even his reputation—just to earn Clover’s forgiveness. And in the end, she does forgive him. More than that, she encourages him to stop living under his father’s shadow and start pursuing the life and dreams he truly wants for himself.
Thanks to Ivy Dawes for an ARC of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own!
OMG!!
Okay, so I actually went out and read Starstruck first, because I'm a little weird and since I had time, felt like reading in order was better. Honestly, you don't have to read that one first if you don't want! While references are made to James and Kat's story, there's nothing that you miss by reading this first! Both books stand on their own with just enough to know they're connected. Anyway, beyond that, I will say that I think I liked this one just a bit more than Starstruck. The chemistry between Roman and Clover was amazing and I loved they way they were together!
Clover was pretty great. I liked how she stood up to Roman from the beginning and even when she was angry she still told him where to shove it. I did get a little...frustrated(?) at her handling of the body image comments. I do think that situation was overall handled well, once it got out in the open, but I did feel like it took a smidge too long to get to that point. Although the flipside is I think that situation did a good job of showing how stuff like that can come up and how it doesn't take much for it to happen. I liked the friendship Clover struck up with Jill and how she was able to lean on her when she needed it. When things went sideways, I liked her finally kicking Anita to the curb because that woman needed a smack.
Roman was also decent. In the last book, you could tell he had issues with Deacon like James did but he was just this side of trying to keep the peace. It was upsetting learning about all the ways Deacon has always been a little sh*t to his kids, including the way he talked down about Roman's love of music. Then the way he handled the whole clause situation (which, yes Roman was an a** to do that in the first place but at least he acknowledged/admitted it and he figured out how to turn it around) was just downright sh*tty, especially after making that not-so-subtle, underhanded "you owe me" comment. Kind of glad(?) that with Deacon's handling of that means that he shouldn't be able to pull that rug out from under him. And the epilogue was super sweet and hopefully Roman and Clover do more of that kind of thing!!
I did wish there'd been a little more about Clover's roommate/that whole situation. There was the day Clover came home when she'd clearly been up to something but we never found out exactly what beyond just some potential "she was snooping probably", especially once her little leak was revealed. Deacon needs to get slapped. In the face. With a bag of bricks. Repeatedly. Then maybe have someone swing a shovel at him too. A**hat. While I'm interested in Jill's story, I'm also very wary of what BS Deacon is going to try and pull with her.

✧ C H A R A C T E R S ✧ Clover & Roman were fantastic characters both together & as individuals. Their relationship was the perfect blend of sweet & spicy with chemistry that was off the charts. The banter was hilarious but it was the softer, more vulnerable moments that got to me. I appreciated how Ivy approached Roman’s tumultuous relationship with his father & Clover’s self doubt & insecurities with body image with such care. Their journey was quite the emotional rollercoaster but I was so relieved & content with the outcome, who doesn’t love a happy ending 🥰

✧ F A V O U R I T E • P A R T ✧ No word of a lie, since exiting my kindle app I’ve been having an internal battle as to what my favourite part of the book was. But after much consideration, it was Clover’s bad b!tch, strong willed, takes no sh!t from anyone, I’m actually going to slap you attitude that tipped the scales. The pairs first meeting/screen test sits firmly at the top of the pyramid with the Napa weekend a close second🏆

🎬Blurb🎬
I want to punch my arrogant, hot co-star in his stupid, beautiful face. I have to pretend to love Roman Everett on screen, and thanks to the film studio, I have to fake date him too. But it's hard to hate someone who looks like... that. Not only do I want to punch that beautiful face, I also want to kiss it. What's worse? I'm trying to live up to everyone's expectations of me. Just when I feel like l'm about to break, Roman surprises me and seems like someone I can lean on. Roman Everett may be a great actor on-screen... but the role he plays in our relationship is feeling less like a character, and more like he might really want this. 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
She didn’t mean to fall for him. She just meant to insult him creatively.
Lovestruck is the literary equivalent of a rom-com movie you swear you’ll watch just for the plot… and then find yourself fully feral over the co-stars’ chemistry five minutes in.
We follow Clover, who is one sarcastic comment away from committing a felony against her insufferably attractive co-star, Roman Everett. On screen, they’re paid to pretend they’re madly in love; off screen, she would like to (lovingly) punch that perfect face right off his head. And then, because the universe enjoys chaos, the studio decides the only thing better than their fake on-screen romance… is a fake off-screen one too. Let me tell you: the banter is Olympic level, the tension is illegal in several states, and Roman? That man has mastered the art of being both infuriating and devastatingly soft…like if a smug smirk and a forehead kiss had a baby.
What I loved is how the book balances the glitter of Hollywood with the quieter, aching pressure of being “on” all the time. Beneath the memes, the heat, and the publicist approved hand holding, there’s a real tenderness…two people trying to figure out who they are when everyone else thinks they already know. By the halfway mark, I was unwell in the best way: laughing at their bickering, swooning at the soft moments, and pausing to scream into a pillow every time a “for the cameras” kiss went way too hard to be acting.
This isn’t just enemies-to-lovers with fake dating spice. It’s a story about being seen, supported, and chosen without the spotlight. It’s charming, chaotic, swoony, and sprinkled with just enough emotional depth to make your heart do that “oh no I care about them” thing. I giggled. I swooned. I ascended.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to the Author for allowing me to ARC read this chaotic in the best way possible story for you.
Thank you to Ivy Dawes and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book early. This is book 2 in the StarLight Studios series, but you could read it as a standalone. This one is perfect if you are looking for a Hollywood glam and PR relationship style romance. If you like action or comic book movies, I think that you might really enjoy it because the movie they are working on is an in -universe comic book movie.
Roman, our MMC is a seasoned actor working for his family’s company, and Clover, our FMC is best known for a single memorable commercial, share far more chemistry (both on and off the screen) than either of them expected. Fortunately, that works in their favour, since they must fake date to promote their upcoming movie. What begins on the wrong foot turns into the start of their own love story and a well-earned happily ever after. This was such a quick, fun, and engaging read! As a fan of the loathe -to-lovers trope, I thought that this was well executed. The characters were vibrant and entertaining, and I especially loved the witty banter between Clover and Roman. These two definitely have that loathe to loved each other from when they first met, but as we watch their story evolve into love it is evident that this entire thing was meant to be.
When Roman’s previous co-star is let go, he meets clover and there is an instant connection… but it’s a loathe to love situation that we are dealing with. They don’t really want to like each other, but are forced into a PR relationship to give postive press to their upcoming movie. This includes everything from staged meet ups, to attending a planned vacation to Napa Valley until everything gets complicated and real feels emerge. This book was fun, flirty and kept me up late reading it. Roman and Clover’s dynamic was so entertaining, and you wanted to see where this was all going to end up. The spice was good, it was enough that it kept you wanting more as the story went on. There was definitely a moment that I was a standout. The spicy banter between them was at moments blush worthy because there was definitely some times were it got a little HOT… and you are nodding your head “GET IT”!!
Tropes: * Loathe to love * Fake dating / PR relationship * Celebrities * Workplace Romance * He Falls First * “Fight Scenes choreography” moments… * She gets injured and he gets enraged…
Would definitely recommend this one and Ivy’s first book as well.
"How typical, a man trying to take credit for something a woman did on her own."
Can I just say that I LOVED the two main characters in this? They are both headstrong and broken in their own ways. Clover is a feisty woman with undiscovered talent as an actress, trying hard to get her big break in Hollywood. In contrast, Roman is a big-time celebrity and nepo baby that has grown up in and surrounded by people in the industry. When Roman finds out Clover, who has no feature films under her belt, is trying out for the lead female part in opposition with him for a huge Marvel-like film, he is not happy, and loudly expresses this, thus the two of them get off on the wrong foot right away. The tension between them only heightens after Clover nails the audition. Now the two actors, who have instant-dislike for each other, are not only going to be starring in a massive production together, but there is a fake dating clause in the contract. Let the fun begin!
I found Clover to be such a real character with real struggles, including low self-esteem and body image issues. TW for an unspecified and undiagnosed ED, which was done with the care and authenticity that was so well written by Ivy Dawes. I love how Clover wasn't afraid to give it straight to Roman, calling him out without mincing her words: "If your last name wasn't Everett, you wouldn't get even half the opportunities you've had. You owe everything you've got to that name, so don't you dare tell me I haven't earned my successes when you have no idea what it's like to actually earn one." Mic drop, girl.
For all of his arrogance, Roman is more complex than your average rich celebrity. He has a contentious relationship with his assh*le of a father (you'll want to punch him) and struggles with his own secret fears of people only seeing him for his last name and who his family is, not for his true self. Sure, he acts childishly in the beginning of the story (I won't spoil what he does, but it's a real d*ck move), but he learns from it and we see his growth as the story progresses.
I highly recommend you check this book out if you like rom coms with depth, two multifaceted characters that go from enemies-to-lovers, Hollywood glamour, and cats because Smokey is the best!
Thank you to Victory Editing/NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
A nice and spicy book about an actress getting her first break fake dating an established male celebrity, both of whom overcome their misconceptions about each other and have a genuine romance that blossoms. A fun (and at times, not as fun) glimpse into the world of Hollywood including its glitz but also its realities. Did not read the first book in the series (which I am sure I will go back and read but not necessary to enjoy this). Also genuinely enjoyed the portrayal of mental health issues – it felt very realistic without being overdone.
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review - thank you @Netgalley and @ivydawes.

If you love fake dating, enemies to lovers, workplace romance, and mental health representation I would really recommend giving this a go.
Clover has been waiting to have her big break as an actress and finally manages to book a dream role - playing the co lead in a new superhero franchise. The only issue? She needs to enter a PR relationship with her much more famous costar Roman but both of them have their own reasons for not liking the other. What starts as just being a contractual agreement grows and develops and the duel POV means we are never kept guessing about how they really feel towards each other.
I love fake dating and I feel that this one was done really well - I did feel the pacing towards them changing the relationship to real felt a little rushed which stopped this being more then 4 stars.
Clover was such a strong FMC and stood up for herself and what she believed in refusing to be bullied but at the same time showed so much vulnerability and how others can really impact her. I felt that some of the issues she faces around food where handled with care but I wish some more of her recovering was touched on and explored. If this is something which you found difficult to read and triggering to read please look after yourself - it is a topic which is a subplot through out the book and so only read if you feel you are in a place to cope with this.
I did not love the issue at the end and felt it was resolved a little fast but had been wondering through out the book how Roman would deal with a topic and enjoyed that he owned up and took ownership of the actions that he did and how they impacted others; making an effort to address and fix this in any way that he could.
This was my first book by Ivy and it has made me want to go back and read starstruck and I am going to be keeping an eye out for the story around Roman's sister Jill and can't wait to see how her anxiety is explored and discussed more then it was in here.
From the first line—“I want to punch my arrogant, hot co-star in his stupid, beautiful face”—I knew Lovestruck was going to be the kind of rom-com that crackles with energy. Ivy Dawes nails the push-and-pull of enemies-to-lovers and the sparkling chaos of Hollywood, wrapping it in all the tension that comes from pretending to love someone you definitely shouldn’t.
Our heroine is sharp, driven, and teetering under the pressure of living up to everyone’s expectations. She’s finally landed a huge role, but her co-star, Roman Everett, is infuriatingly confident, effortlessly charming, and—of course—gorgeous. When the studio forces them into a fake-dating PR stunt, their off-screen hostility becomes dangerously close to heat. What starts as barbed banter turns into stolen glances, inside jokes, and the kind of chemistry that burns brighter than the camera lights.
Roman’s quiet vulnerability is what makes this book shine. Beneath the Hollywood persona, he’s all heart—protective, thoughtful, and absolutely smitten long before she catches up. The “he falls first” angle makes every scene ache just a little bit. There’s humor (plenty of “accidental” touches and deliciously awkward interviews), but there’s also heart—especially as both characters drop their masks and show who they are behind the spotlight.
By the time the fake dating starts to feel all too real, Lovestruck delivers every emotional payoff you’d want from a loathe-to-love romance. It’s cinematic, steamy, and sweet in all the right ways. Think: The Hating Game meets Notting Hill—but with more heat, more Hollywood chaos, and a hero who’s hopelessly lovestruck for the one woman determined not to need him.
Verdict: A perfect mix of glitz, snark, and sincerity. You’ll laugh, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little when the final scene fades to black.
Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to get my hands on this ARC of Ivy Dawes’ Lovestruck! As a fan after reading the first book in the series, Starstruck, I jumped straight into this enemies-to-lovers story with Roman and Clover. This book is without a doubt an entertaining and enjoyable read, and I think it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a fun escape.
First up, the "enemies" part was totally nailed. The initial hostility and tension felt so real and totally earned. The chemistry between Roman and Clover was definitely strong, and the build-up of heat was really engaging, which kept the pages turning. A huge highlight for me was the deeply supportive sibling relationship between Roman and his sister, Jill—it was warm, well-developed, and it’s definitely got me hyped up for her story next.
But, I have to be honest, the transition during the crucial "fake dating" phase was a little too abrupt for me, which is why it ended up being a 3-star read. They went from loathing each other to being in love way too fast! While the plot was pushing them together quickly, the pacing which took them from high heat to real, deep emotional intimacy felt rushed. It felt like the plot just accelerated, and the emotional journey got a bit left behind.
Also, some important character threads, like Clover’s relationship with food, were introduced and then seemed to be dropped without a proper resolution. I wish we’d got a bit more closure and depth there—it felt like a missed opportunity.
All in all, Lovestruck is a super fun, fast-paced read with brilliant banter and solid chemistry. While I wished for a smoother emotional landing for Roman and Clover, I really enjoyed my time in this world and I’ll absolutely be back for Jill’s book.

Quick Summary: A nepo baby, enemies to lovers romance
My Review: Lovestruck by Ivy Dawes is book #2 in The Starlight Studios series. It was released on 11/4/25.
About the Book: "I want to punch my arrogant, hot co-star in his stupid, beautiful face.
Not only do I want to punch that beautiful face, I also want to kiss it."
In My Own Words: Two co-stars who initially have a low tolerance for each other find themselves in a Hollywood style arrangement. It soon becomes more than either expected.
My Final Say: This was a potent read. Wrapped up in nepo privilege, arrogance and regret, the male lead [Roman], thankfully demonstrates growth, which he needed to do. He finds a backbone and champions the woman he loves. Not that she needed it. She [Clover] was strong and determined. Even when her heart was broken, she kept her head up. I was all for it. She was a boss when she needed to be.
What impressed me about this story was the way that body image was tackled. Also, familial expectations and the matter of unhealthy dynamics were addressed.
Other: Readers who enjoy contemporary romances with fake dating, close proximity, and enemies to lovers elements should like this story. The emotional arc makes this novel well worth a look-see.
Indicated Tropes:
💗 Loathe to love 😉 Fake dating 🕶️ Celebrities ❤️ Workplace Romance 🥰 He Falls First

I am grateful for the opportunity to read this work of fiction. I look forward to continuing with this series.
“Lovestruck” is the second book in the Starlight Studios series! It’s a story about two actors, and the most exciting part? They start as enemies and end up in love—my absolute favourite! Roman and Clover’s banter is so much fun to read, and their witty responses are hilarious! And Roman’s nickname for her, “Sparky,” is just too good! It’s a light, sweet romance with cute little moments that give enemies a boost of energy. Plus, the fake dating and open-door spice are just perfect!
ROMAN EVERETT: A famous actor with a body like a Greek god and sexy tattoos that do things to you! 🔥🔥 I can’t stop picturing him! He played a superhero in the movie, and he has that aura. He hates Clover to the core, but he still can’t resist her. The way he teases her is so fun, I was giggling the whole time. From being an enemy to a caring lover, he was everything a perfect MMC could have!
”Close your eyes, I’ve got you.”
CLOVER DALY: The strongest FMC who doesn’t take anyone’s nonsense. With her snarky replies, she was witty, smart, and a very interesting character. The way she makes Roman work up and gives him a hard time is just amazing! I really enjoyed her and Jill’s friendship too, it was quite overwhelming. I really like how hardworking and courageous her character was!
Both of them have their own baggage and troubles to deal with, and with their arrangement and support, how they overcome their problems and get the courage to stand up for what they deserve is written so interestingly!
If you’re into soft romance and these tropes, this one is definitely for you:
• Enemies to Lovers • Fake Dating • Workplace Romance • He Falls First • Dual POV • Good level of spice! 🌶️🌶️
Roman, a seasoned actor working for his family’s company, and Clover, best known for a single memorable commercial, share far more chemistry (both on and off the screen) than either of them expected. Fortunately, that works in their favour, since they must fake date to promote their upcoming movie. What begins on the wrong foot turns into the start of their own love story and a well-earned happily ever after.
This was such a quick, fun, and engaging read! As a devoted fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, I breezed through it in just two sittings. The characters were vibrant and entertaining, and I especially loved the witty banter between Clover and Roman. Roman’s sister, Jill, completely stole my heart as well (she was such a standout! I wish I had her baking abilities!).
While I enjoyed the pacing overall, it did feel a bit too fast in places, with a few elements that could have used more depth (the snitch roommate and the rushed ending, for example). The chemistry between the main characters also felt slightly uneven. It wasn’t instalove, but some of their conversations lacked the spark I was hoping for.
Although this is the second book in the series, I had no trouble following along without having read the first. The side characters were easy to keep track of, and now book one is firmly on my TBR list. I’ll also be eagerly waiting for book three... especially if it gives us more of Jill’s story!
Overall, this was an enjoyable 4-star read that I would happily recommend to a friend.
