Wow, "End Game" by Riley Paige was so beautifully written. The way she describes grief and loss and all of the emotions I felt with my whole chest. Logan and Sloane are everything. I love how Pop's made sure Logan wasn't going to disappear after he was gone because he knew Cameron and Sloane would need him. 😭 This book is raw and real in the best way. Riley is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. ❤️
Logan Brooks is the person the Rhodes family leans on in this tough time. Especially Sloane Rhodes. She won't admit it at first, but Logan is exactly who she needs to help her navigate her grief and loss. He's not trying to fix her, he's just there. Simple gestures such as leaving her a glass of water on her nightstand. He is her constant.
"If I keep moving, nothing can catch me. That's the rule and I'm not going to break it now". Logan

When Riley says you'll need tissues, she means it. Pops is such an unforgettable character, so saying goodbye to him hurts. But the way Logan takes care of Sloane will have you swooning. Don't even get me started on him putting her first! Logan has come a long way since Broken Play, and while it's heartbreaking, it's also heartwarming to see him finally get his HEA 💙.
I ARC read. I’ve received the opportunity to read all these books.
My heart was already bleeding for Logan three sentences in. Truly. And Sloane? Loved her immediately.
There is something absolutely heartbreaking about the beginning of an athlete’s rehab—when your future holds more what ifs than certainty. The internal dialogue Logan carries felt painfully familiar. When you feel a character that deeply, you already know the book is going to be something special.
Pops is going to wreck me. Just know that going in. The wisdom he gives Logan? Soul-level.
“When you can’t do normal, we’ll do the rest.” “Progress doesn’t always mean clean steps forward.”
Girls’ day coffee and Target might seem small, but when someone is struggling, it means everything. And the worst part about being injured? The time. Too much time to think—about what survives after, who will still be standing, and whether you’re brave enough to be one of them.
I loved how Logan knows he’s going to grieve big, but still does everything he can to take pressure off Sloane.
Cameron’s growth genuinely surprised me in the best way. When your entire world flips, clarity doesn’t come easy—and seeing that change mattered. (Yes, Cameron is Sloane’s brother.)
“Like if I’m not falling apart constantly, it means I’m forgetting him.” “You’re more important.” Yeah. My whole heart.
The ending was perfect. Just perfect.
You need to understand—this is an emotional read. I’m not a crier and I didn’t cry, but the events and feelings in this book are real. So real. And the people who’ve lived them would never want you to experience them yourself.
A fantastic book. A fantastic end to the series. I cannot wait to see what Riley Page gives us next.
My Emotional Wellbeing Just Took a Beat Down!! I've personally been in this same place, being the caretaker for both my parents during sicknesses and Hospice. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do and this book is spot on with the hated despair, anger, regret and unending grief.
End Game is the 4th and last book in the PCU Storm series by Debuting Author Riley Paige. This book is different than the others, not all roses and romance but a lot more heart felt. The book has Football & Basketball, a brothers best friend, forced proximity. It has no cheating, no third act breakup and ends with a HEA.
TW: Terminal Cancer, Death of a Parent (briefly on page), Heavy Grief, Parental Abandonment (mentioned), Parent with Addiction (mentioned), Mental Health: Depression after Loss, Sports Injury.
I would like to Thank Riley Paige for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.
Logan Brooks and Sloane Rhodes basically grew up together since Logan is best friends with her brother. He cruelly bashed her crush when he was a freshman in college and Sloane a senior in high school over jealousy.
Logan is a senior Wide Receiver for PCU's football team and has high hopes of making it to the NFL but blows out his knee and returns home for rehab.
Sloane is a junior and is a Point Guard for CSU's basketball team and as been taking care of her Dad who has brain cancer.
They get the news that the cancer is advanced and now they have to pull together and take care of each other while losing the most important person in their lives.
Logan has to decide if he will or will not accept an offer from Chicago and Sloane needs to realize that she's someone's End Game.
A true testimony of how difficult it is to see someone you love in pain, but choosing to stay anyway. Sloane and Logan´s story is the perfect ending to the PCU Storm Series. Sloane is someone who carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, who refuses to let people in and see how bad it hurts and how scared she truly is, while barely hanging on. Logan is someone who is stripped of his future and doesn’t know how to react and what to do anymore, he doesn’t know how to prepare for an uncertain future, but is willing to stand up for the ones he loves, for his family, for his friends. Their relationship starts off in the middle of chaos, of pain, of fear and immense grief, but flourishes into the perfect support and forever kind of love that never waiver and stays through the hard times. A story of how love can make and break you at the same time, of grief, of true love, of family and friendship. Riley Paige shows us how important it is to have a support system that allows you to fall apart in the hardest of times and how the right people can help you carry emotional weight when all your strengths are gone and you don’t know how to get up and live again. End Game made me cry a lot and it was a rollercoaster of feelings, but it helped heal a part of myself that is still grieving the loss of my mother. We don’t have to keep it together every day. Life isn’t easy and sometimes it’s truly unkind, but the right people on your side, it’s worth it. Thank you for the ARC.
I absolutely bawled my eyes out with this one. I expected some tears going in, but the amount I cried was honestly a new record for me. Riley has such a powerful way of writing that you feel every single emotion so intensely.
Logan and Sloane’s love story is beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. They grew up together, and jealousy led to Logan saying some truly nasty things that caused real damage. When he gets injured, it forces them back into each other’s lives, and watching them slowly work through their past was emotional in the best way. Logan’s patience with Sloane really stood out. She puts up such a brave front, but he sees straight through it, and that kind of love just wrecked me.
Her dad getting sick again absolutely broke my heart, but the way Logan and Sloane lean on each other during such a painful time is incredibly heartwarming, even while your heart is breaking for them. The emotion and tension throughout this book are so well written, and the grief woven into the story makes everything hit even harder.
This is the final book in the PCU series, and what an amazing and emotional way to finish it off. I can’t wait to see what Riley has in store next.
While I highly recommend this book, please (I cannot stress this enough) read Riley’s author’s note and check the triggers carefully before going in.
Firstly I need to say before anyone decides to read this, please read the trigger warnings as there are some hard topics involved. This book absolutely wrecked me. From the first few chapters I was balling my eyes out. It was so beautifully written, the way Riley has written about grief and the heartbreak that comes from it. This book hits close to home, as someone whose dad is also going through cancer, the never ending question of when always hangs in the air.
Sloane and Logan, her brothers best friend and the one guy she never thought she could have. When his life was turned upside down due to an injury, he turned to the only place he could call home, his best friends house. Only moving back in meant having to see the one person who has always had his attention and he could never have. After watching Sloane dad decline and loose his battle to terminal cancer, she shuts her self off to the world and looses herself slowly day by day whilst Logan faces the toughest decision of his life, playing in the nfl and loosing her or loosing his dream.
This book takes you through a roller coaster of emotions as they learn to live and move on with the grief whilst navigating life
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️ Thankyou Riley for the early arc of this book
Book 4 didn't promise sunshine, daisies & rainbows. It promised, heartache, emotions, grit, heart & realness. Logan dealing with his injury from book 3 while he, his best friend & the girl he can't get out of his head (nor heart) deal with the weight of the impending loss of the man who raised them. I've been in Sloane's position myself, many times but nothing hit as hard as my mother. Trying to hold yourself together, to control everything, extensive notes & only feeling true control in the place you work (or in her case sport), that was the the closest description of real life I've come across in a book. It was as if I were Sloane. Having injured a knee (not as extensive as Logan) I've known the therapy needed put in to heal & everything felt real & raw. I'm so happy to have seen the growth from Logan this book. I wanted to throw a punch since book one & seeing the change made my heart happy. While the tears were hard, this series couldn't have ended any other way.
Thank you, Riley & team for the ARC of this book. Can't wait to return to PCU for hockey.
Arc Review, thank you to Riley Paige for allowing me to read this book early !!
For starters, I love a book that has an amazing plot but also a little spice. This book did just that. But don’t get confused, it’s not a spicy book, it has added spice in the perfect moments and I absolutely loved it. This book was real, raw, and truly got me emotional. Such a devastating story line but also this writing is so beautifully written. You could tell the story was personal and so good. I love Riley Paige’s writing and this was by far one of my favorite books. The characters are spot on, the plot was spot on, and I think people will love being able to fully relate to the book. Even though I tried about 5 times, I would 100% read this book again. 10/10 recommend as long as you read the trigger warnings first just to be sure.
This is not a cute college romance this one is pure raw emotion from the first chapter. End Game is all about the grief, acceptance of a loved one being diagnosed with a terminal illness and with an athlete dealing with healing after a serious injury. This definitely leaves you feeling all the emotions. Sloane is a college basketball player and her brother’s best friend Logan is a senior football player. Logan also grew up in Sloane’s family home. I’m sad to see this is the end of the PCU Storm series however the ending was pure perfection. The whole series is definitely worth a read as every book is beautifully written leaving you feeling every emotion possible. Highly recommend but please check the trigger warnings before reading.
This was the HEAVIEST of the PCU Books so far. It definitely weighs you down. If you’ve experienced familial death and/or terminal illness, it hits hard.
That being said, the only reason it lost a star from me was because normally there’s happy sprinkled in with the trauma, and I was hoping for that, but I also understand it was really hard to do.
This is not a beach read, yes there’s romance involved but definitely read the trigger warnings and do not take them lightly.
I’m glad Riley is able to put these life experiences into books, as I think it helps to see things and have relatable experiences.
I’m quite impressed that the characters in this series are college students. This is like on another level from other college series I’ve read.
This book in particular addresses grief so deeply. Possibly in the deepest way I’ve ever read in a book.
Everyone grieves differently. We all know that. When grief is consuming, how do we move forward? How do we feel the feels but don’t let them consume us?
These two characters move through it quietly and slowly, in their own way. Thank the Lord for no 3rd act breakup!
End Game pulled at my heart strings and felt so real. The story was full of emotion and beautifully written. It was so rewarding to see how much Logan evolved and how natural and earned his growth felt by this last book in the series.
There were many tears shed while reading, especially as someone who deeply relates to the loss of a parent. The way grief was handled felt honest and true to life. I also loved the college family vibe and the strong sense of found family throughout the book. This story stayed with me long after I finished and was a truly satisfying ending.
This book was absolutely beautiful and completely wrecked me in the best way! The way Riley wrote the process of grieving someone who is still here is so spot on. This book had so much angst between the two main characters.. and had the perfect combo of heartache but also romance plus you can’t beat the tropes.. brothers best friend, sports romance and he falls first! Sad this series has come to an end but can’t wait to see what she writes next!! ✨
ARC Review: This book hit me pretty close to home bc I have recently gone through the lose of my dad. I related to Sloane in so many ways and I wish I had a Logan to get me through it! Riley has done it again like she always does. Grief is hard to write about and I would like to say that Riley knew what she was doing. Grief isn’t easy and this book wasn’t easy.. ❤️
