It’s clear that he shares her feelings, and their letters only cement their love.

As soon as Sasha arrives in Dawson, the pair are caught in a whirlwind of romance and passion that neither have ever known. Brook is everything Reckless hoped for, and as soon as she arrives in Dawson, their romance blossoms. They couldn’t wish for more happiness… until a terrible tragedy devastates the tribe, spreading tension and heartache in its wake.

I have started the next audio box-set in this series, it is filled with danger, loss, pain and sorrow along with smiles, laughs and love. This set is just as great as the books before, it is so nice to see old family and learn stories of old and new characters. The narration was done by two different narrators the first and last book is done by the same narration the review for him will be at the bottom for both books.

Westward Moon
Takes us back a few years when the Indian split over beliefs and wants. Jack and Sparrow fell deeply in love only to lose each other when her father started his own tribe and moved far away. Many years later Sparrow is forced to marry a man she doesn’t love only to find out he is mean and abusive. By their law the Indian woman can divorce their husbands but her husband and her father won’t agree which leaves only one choice for Sparrow that is to run hard and fast back to the man she has always loved. What follow are the trials of that love with many stepping stones along the way leaving blood and death in its way.

The story is very heartbreaking with some very touching scenes. I thought the author did a wonderful job bring the story to life pulling in the reader and making them a part of the story. I am very much looking forward to listening to the rest of the box set to see where this series goes.

Westward Christmas
This is not one of my favorite books in this series, it was a good addition to the series and gives closure to the romance of Ben’s and Sasha’s. As I am sure back then there was sex before marriage, more so if the woman had already been married. I thought this story showed more of how that issue was handled back then. The author never really explained to me about Ben’s tempter, I was a little confused at why and how it built, the author does say it was more of a drinking thing but doesn’t give much background on it. I thought it added a lot to the series but not as a standalone book.

The narrator I didn’t really care for her normal accent or normal voice carried throughout on many of the characters and you really could not see who was talking. It sounded more like just reading and not being in character voice. She does give true emotion, there are no repeating of words, I found no background sounds or volume changes. Really she did a good job all but for the character voices. For me she took away from the story.

Westward Visions
I really loved the characters in this story it show how hard it was for not only the whites but the Indians which have mixed blood. They really have a hard time in both worlds, they just do not fit, neither side wants a spouse with mixed blood, they are looked down on I think more so for the woman since no man really wants a mixed woman. I thought the author did a wonderful job showing how hard life can be for them as well as the life they lead. The story is about trust, honor and believing in the Indian way. I loved the humor, and how the author shows how easy it is to distrust and what the cause of that is. So far this is my favorite of the series. I love Reckless and have done so throughout this series, he has had love interest before and lost love. For him to find a woman he can love that goes with his beliefs and willing to live the way he does but also be able to live in the Whiteman’s world is just amazing. The author really pulled me in and made it very easy to picture the scenes.
Reckless finally finds a woman who he can love, there are trying times with her family, as well as getting to know each other. What follows is a true romantic romance with turmoil and fear along with love and passion. When the tribe looses their home Reckless works on finding a new one, there are many nonbelievers, that causes hardship not only in his marriage but with his tribe. It is a passionate story, with love, power, lose and trust issues. There was nothing I didn’t like about this story from the characters to the plot which is full of emotion and humor.

The narrator does a wonderful job delivering true emotions to the story, you always know who is talking and just what that are feeling. There are no repeating of words, no background noise just a truly enjoyable listen that pulls you in. His normal voice is very pleasant as well as his character voices, his voice is easy to listen to and gave me many hours of enjoyment. He made me feel the pain and sorrow each character is going through as well as the excitement and danger that comes with this story. With his narration he made me understand why some people act the way they do and that not everything is as it seems. For me he bought this story to life making it easy to picture each scene as it was happening. His performance was top of the line pulling me in giving me a listen I couldn’t put down. If you haven’t listened to any of his audios you don’t know what you are missing.

The family saga continues through the midpoint of this 23 book series, while characters from book 1-3 still appear, as these three novels move to the second generation, family and friends. With bits of annoying historical inaccuracy, the stories are still engaging.

10. Westward Moon. All of the characters and mail order brides of Books 1-9 continue to appear and advise, as Jack Samuels (son of the hero and heroine book 1) has a relationship with Sparrow, a Lakota girl he has loved since childhood. In this warm, charming, clean tale of the West.

11. Westward Christmas. Sasha follows her good friend Sparrow (heroine book 10) to the Montana town mail order love built and to continue her new relationship with Dr. Ben.

12. Westward Visions. A Lakota Sioux brave, Marcus Samuelson (hero book 3) meets and cares for Whispering Brook, a Lakota Sioux maiden

I love this series by Linda Bridey!! My favorite of all time!!!

This is probably the best series I have ever read and that is sYing a LOT because I've read thousands of books in my life. My favorite is this era and Linda Bridey is one of the most enjoyable authors I ever encountered. I've read 12 of the books in this series and each one is full of adventure, love and humor. The characters are well developed and show up in future books as part of the story of a wonderful little town I wish I could live in. I am always sad to end a book but then cant wait for the next story. I will be reading all of Ms Bridey's books now that I've found her.

Enjoyable read

I have not read the other books in this series but if the are anywhere as exciting and historical realistic as these 3 then I have some books to look for.
From reading the blurbs for a couple of the earlier books they all seem to center around Dawson, Montana in the 1800's with every citizen of the area either featured or mentioned in the stories.
These 3 stories are centered around the members of the Lakota tribe. Very real.

Fascinating Read

Linda, you never disappoint your readers with your writings. I feel that I am a part of the Samuel’s family & the Lakota. We went through Eric’s heartache and now it is only fitting that we share in his new love and future happiness. Keep writing & we will keep reading. Love your books.

I am absolutely loving this series. I especially like how they flow one right into the next one ... the same people...same town. She has the knack for remembering all of the families and keeping them straight so you never lose track of who and what is going on. I plan to read everything she has written. Thanks Ms. Bridey for some great reading enjoyment.

Loved the books! Each one built on familiar characters that blended in with new! Well written, love the mix of Indian culture with the historic old west. Too bad it wasn't always this way! Great reads!

Enjoyable, so nice to see another side

Two of the books in this series focused on the Native American rituals and problems they faced in the 1800s. It was nice to see such a negative time for Native Americans, recreated with sensitivity and realism.

Life in Montana gets a little muddled!

Life throws a curve for Reckless, in many ways. Life is about to change. Some happy times some sad. But life has its ups nd downs.
But love and friends are always looking out to help guide you to settle disputes and getting you back on track.

A good continuation

I enjoy the series as it continues with familiar faces and adds new people seamlessly. Novels with native people should be more common.

These books have been outstanding so far. I bought the first one and haven't been able to stop, the series is so good. The characters are very likeable for one thing. Well, maybe there have been a couple I wanted to smack occasionally, but that's only because they weren't behaving the way I wanted them to at the time. The blending of the Lakota tribe with their white counterparts has made for excellent reading. The historical information has been highly entertaining in such a way as to capture and hold your attention. Each person involved in the story is unique with their own special brand of personality and way of living. You have people like the doctor who is part Lakota and incorporates their medicine in with what he learned in medical school. There is Sammi, the sheriff's wife who carries a gun and works as a deputy and bouncer part of the time. Joe is the mayor, extremely well to do with a successful horse breeding ranch. That he also sings and performs in the saloon is just part of what makes him intriguing. Then you have Owl, Reckless, and Raven, all living in both worlds. One having married a white woman, one working at the saloon to earn money to help his tribe, and one with very close ties to his white relatives living nearby. And those are just a few of the people you'll get to know in these books. If you haven't read these books and enjoy historical romance, I suggest you give them a try.

Wonderful

Getting to know these characters better in each story, it is interesting to see how you work things out. I really enjoyed spending more time with the Lakota tribe and learning more about their customs. Definitely worth the effort to read.
