God, Ugo, and Me is the Christian romance I didn’t know I needed. From the very first page, I felt right at home in the author’s world. There’s such a softness to her storytelling, no rush, just a steady, beautiful flow that lets every emotion breathe. The character development is flawless, so authentic and relatable, with situations that feel real enough to touch. The story is engaging from start to finish, and truly, she left no detail unattended. As for my sugar, my one and only Oghene, the man of God with that smile😁. He was so calm, collected and deeply rooted in the things of God. The way he carries himself? Effortlessly. The way he speaks? Soft, but with authority and don’t get me started on the subtle charm😩 Oghene is that MMC who makes you want to highlight every scene he’s in, not because he’s over the top, but because he’s steady, dependable, and still somehow makes your heart race. He’s proof that you can be Godly and dangerously swoony at the same time😂 As for Ugo, that lady stressed me out 😭. The signs were so glaring but our aunty was seeing it as a miracle😒she’s also her own cheerleader, but thank God she still manages to be tender enough to let love in. Watching her banter with Oghene is pure entertainment😂😂 I literally lost count of how many times I giggled 🤭This story was everything I imagined it would be and so much more🙌👏

Rosemary Okafor has done it again and again and again!
The swooning, the fluffiness, the romance! Omg!
Ugo(Ayanfulugo), a church sister working in a pension company, has been in love with this brother for so long... brother Oghene. The finest fire  branded brother in church and he has always admired her from afar!
Ugo is literally struggling at her job, which is hanging on a thread because she hasn't brought in any clients in the last 3 months.
Will their paths cross? Will this desire for each other go past being brothers and sisters in church? Find out when you read!

Rosemary Okafor can do no wrong in my eyes!
This book is everything I expected it to be and more!
I wasn't disappointed at all
I love how soft her stories are
There's no sense of urgency at all
I love her writing style like mad!
The character development is on point!
Relatable characters and scenarios
Very engaging story
I could go on and on.... she left no stone unturned
Don't get me started on the quotes.. I scrennshotted some that resonated with me
This book could pass as a romcom
Ugo is such a tease!😂 always teasing the man of God😂. I laughed so many times
Oh, I love this book so much!

I just finished reading God, Ugo and Me by Rosemary Okafor and let me tell you, this book feels like a warm hug wrapped in laughter. Honestly, it’s the kind of story that has you giggling out loud in public, and people start side-eyeing you like, “what’s wrong with this one?” 😂

From the dedication to the very first line, you already know Rosemary Okafor is about to take you on a ride. The story follows Ugo and Oghene two people secretly drawn to each other but holding back. Oghene is the ever-dedicated church guy, and Ugo? She has always been like, “Me? Date a church brother? Abeg, I don’t see myself with that kind of man.” 😅😅 But life had other plans. A sudden accident brings them closer, and in that moment of vulnerability, they realize their feelings run deeper than either of them imagined.

🌟What I loved about this book:
✨The FMC?? she’s super hilarious, witty, and bold. The way she teases Bro Oghene? Pure gold. She’s not shy, she’s brazen, and their banter will have you cracking up.
✨The humor?? there’s no way you’ll read this book without laughing.
✨The drama?? especially when bro Oghene’s ex tried to destroy him😤. But Oghene’s comeback? Chef’s kiss.

This isn’t just romance; it’s faith, resilience, laughter, and joy woven together. Rosemary Okafor knows how to keep readers hooked, and this book proves it again!!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is my second five-star read of the month (the first was God, Michael, and Me). If you loved that one, then God, Ugo, and Me is a must-read!

Any book written by Rosemary Okafor is a must read for me. I’ve read quite a number of her books and God! there’s always so much depth in her writing.

If you’re looking for the perfect faith-based romance with holy yearning, God as the ultimate matchmaker, and a sweet fluffy love story packed with humour that will make you laugh your sorrows away, God, Ugo and Me is the right recommendation.

This story follows our MMC, Brother OG, a certified church boy, hot mechanic/crypto trader, and our FMC, Sister Ugo, a devoted church sister working in the pension department of a bank. While both tried so hard to resist the attraction between them, God clearly had a different plan.

The book shines with proper character development, a well-structured plot, and simple yet beautiful grammar. The humour in this book flows from the very first line to the very last.

Another refreshing touch was its setting in Port Harcourt, a welcome breath of fresh air from the usual Lagos-based stories.

If you’ve read God, Michael and Me and fell in love with Michael and Martha, then chai you will 100% love Brother OG and Sister Ugo.

‎If you have read a book written by Rosemary Okafor before, you already know she does not do “mid.” She writes with so much heart and depth, and it is easy to forget you are reading a book because her characters feel so alive. Her latest novel, God, Ugo and Me, is no exception.

‎This story takes all the expected sweetness of romantic fiction and lights a match under it. What Rosemary Okafor delivers is a love story that is witty, layered, and real. It also doesn't shy away from the convolutions of human desire.

‎The characters are well-rounded and properly developed. Through Nekaro’s scandal with Sarima, the book confronts religious hypocrisy and the ways communities weaponize judgment. Ugo, in turn, carries her own struggles and moments of fragility. She makes mistakes, yes, but her relationship with Nekaro depicts two flawed people choosing, day by day, to see God and to see each other in spite of the noise around them.

‎Rosemary Okafor also resists flattening her characters into archetypes. She leans into their flaws, and it is in those imperfections that the novel finds its authenticity.

‎Stylistically, her dialogue is sharp and quippy. Her descriptions are vivid. The fluff, banter, and the sizzling chemistry are properly executed, but never at the expense of depth.

‎Overall, this book is animated, unfiltered, and deliciously entertaining

‎So, what do you get when you pick up God, Ugo and Me? You get drama, you get banter, you get passion, you get moments that will make you laugh till you almost pee in your pants, and you get to read a masterpiece by an author who refuses to let Christian love stories be boring.

‎In short: Rosemary Okafor has not come to play. Again!

Rosemary Okafor has a gift for writing stories that feel authentic, emotional, and deeply rooted in faith and culture. With God, UGO, and Me, she gives us a romance that is as much about healing and trust as it is about love, and I couldn’t put it down.

At the center is Anyafulugo, a woman who has every reason to keep her walls high. Fierce, witty, and capable, she has her career on the line and her peace constantly tested. The last thing she wants is to complicate her life with a “man of God” who literally prays in tongues as if it’s a full-time job. In her mind, OG was far too spiritual to be a match even though her heart kept betraying her with that undeniable pull toward him. Her hesitation felt real and understandable, and it made her journey even more compelling.

On the other hand, Oghene (OG), our grumpy yet kindhearted MMC, carried scars of his own. Having been burned in the past by scandal, the thought of opening up again terrified him. He couldn’t risk another heartbreak or public fallout. Yet despite his fears, he couldn’t ignore the magnetic energy between himself and Anya. Their attraction was obvious, but neither wanted to take the first step. Watching them dance around their feelings both convinced that love would only complicate things, was equal parts frustrating and delightful.

And this is where Rosemary shines: she doesn’t just write romance for romance’s sake. She threads in faith, vulnerability, humor, and God’s divine orchestration. The tension between UGO and OG wasn’t just about chemistry, it was about trust, surrender, and believing that God’s ways are higher than ours. The slow-burn, the banter, the humor, the push and pull…it all paid off beautifully, and by the end, I was rooting for them with my whole heart.

I received the ARC for this book and i was not disappointed! i already knew the author knew how to to weave compelling stories but this blew me a way!

its a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s

There are some love stories that don’t just make your heart skip—they make you pause, breathe, and look up, whispering, “God, is this how You love too?”
That’s exactly what God, Ugo and Me felt like.

This romance Christian fiction, set in Port Harcourt, follows Anyafulugo—the baby Christian and banker-turned-marketer stretched beyond her job description under the heat of impossible targets—and Nekaro, the intercessor facing a scandal that threatens to consume him. Their worlds collide in the most unconventional way, and from that very moment, sparks begin to fly.

when Anyafulugo said;
"I love you, OG. And I've seen what God does in you, and through you. The way you walk with Him is like nothing I've ever witnessed. In your house, it feels like He lives there, like He's taken up permanent residence. And every time I'm near you, I feel Him too. I've come to desire what you have"

it made me really understand What makes their story beautiful isn’t just the chemistry—it’s the way they both wrestle with faith, life’s messiness, and the hard choices that come with love and still desire God.

Rosemary Okafor writes with such tenderness that you find yourself relating to Ugo’s struggles, admiring Nekaro’s resilience, and smiling at the God-orchestrated moments that remind us that real love is both holy and human.

✨ If you’re looking for a romance that makes you swoon but also makes you pray and desire intimacy with God... God, Ugo and Me is it.

“God Ugo and me” by Rosemary Okafor

The second book in the “Of God and Man series”. This is another masterpiece from the author of “God, Micheal and I”. No long talks, but y’all know how Rosemary is when it comes to contemporary Christian romance! She’s one of the best out there.

This story follows Ugo, a bank worker that works in the pension department, to some reasonable extent knows God and believe. And there’s Bro OG, a tongue speaking fire branded man, a rich mechanic that walks according to the will of God! These two individuals attend the same church. Now, what happens when God gives an instruction to start interceding for the one you’ve been crushing on?( the truth about God knowing us even before we were formed!!) so as not to fall into the hands of the wicked ones. But is she willing to be obedient, cause she thinks it’s at the expense of her job! Will she yield to the warning? Will she be given a second chance even after disobeying?

It’s a story that has to do with faith, love, church hurt/drama and it’s also a stranger to lover kind of romance. I love how the book explains that despite being a child of God, fire branded, tongue speaking, it still comes down to the fact that we’re humans and not mini gods. There’s so much to learn in this book.

Looking for a love/romance story that honors God, I mean God is in the center of it all, this is one and you might be wondering how the equation works, then you need to read this book!!!

And if you’ve read “God, Micheal and I”, trust me, you’re in for another God involved love ride🤭❤️📚

Trope:Christian romance novel , stranger to lovers , insta attraction and same age romance

Initial thoughts : this was the ARC I prayed for and received! Rosemary didn’t disappoint with this story . I could get enough of this book so I took my sweet time and it was worth it.
All am saying is run over to KU and go read this book right now!
Ps Don’t read the last chapter , if your avoiding spicy content 🤭

Book overview : We follow 28 year old Oghene, a mechanic and prayer warrior and Ugo the stubborn Christian sister that’s pressed by work sales targets as a pension account manger. They both attend the same church but met unconventional outside of church .
Brother Og hasn’t had much luck in love, for that reason, he has made it a point to only follow God’s lead with the next relationship he finds himself in.
Lady Ugo, like all other female members of the church has a big crush on Bro Oghene but how can she make it known without being rejected.
Just know that the devil is crafty and doesn’t want to see you prosper but rather wallowing in shame and disgrace.
This is the swoon worthy Christian romance you didn’t know you needed.
The longing between Ugo and Oghene was intense and sometimes even frustrating because of the pace they were going at but is all part and parcel of this love story .
Be prepared to curse under your breath, throw your phone or iPad because of frustration and feel your eyes well up.

This is a 5 star

This is what the book talks about. It follows a story of Ugo who works at the bank but in the pension department crushing on a good brother in church,Bro OG who is a mechanic and also a trader. What started as a like at first sight transcends beautifully into a love story which was ordained by God.
The book highlights some major themes people don’t really talk about or I wil say are oblivious to which is Church hurt ..It is that silent struggle many believers face but rarely speak about and Rosemary Okafor handles it with honesty, grace, and depth. Through Bro OG’s journey, she reminded us that healing is possible, even within the walls that once wounded us.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the undeniable chemistry between Ugo and Bro OG. They were completely in sync. You could feel the tension but despite the clear sexual attraction, they kept things pure, which I found refreshing. That moment when Bro OG was secretly praying Ugo without her knowledge was absolutely adorable. (women pray for praying men oh 😂😂 )

I also really enjoyed Ugo’s friendship with Ale. She was the kind of supportive, ride or die friend everyone needs. Their playful banter and genuine care for each other made the book interesting
Chukwudi and his wife, Ezioma, were another highlight for me. The way they stepped in to support Bro OG felt so real and meaningful. It brought even more depth and heart to the narrative.

Rosemary Okafor truly delivered with this ..Her writing is relatable ,witty, and perfectly blends humor, romance, and faith. The quotes were gems, the chemistry was sweet, and the laughs were plenty. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian romance and feel good moments.

‎"Desire is not the enemy of holiness, but it's proving ground"
‎~ Rosemary Okafur

‎I start with a standing ovation for Ms. Rosemary Okafur. Your talent is undeniably powerful. Strong character development, the style and prose is unique boardering poetic, there are deep life lessons, the social commentary is spot on. Honestly, Ma this is a work of art.

‎I read God, Ugo and Me as an ARC reader. It was an experience I shall savour for a long time.

‎To say Ugo, the FMC is hilarious is an understatement. You will be laughing out loud from page one. Whereas, Oghene is a gentle church boy just trying to mind his business. But when these two souls collide and God gets in the mix, well it gets interesting.

‎There is something about Christians especially single ones where we are made to believe desire and attraction is a sin. I think the book beautifully shows how the Holy Spirit's fruit of self control actually works. The tension 🔥.

‎Another theme that stood out to me was the diversity and breadth of church hurt and how it manifests. People are wicked‼️

‎Read the book then let's talk about it. There is gist for days.

Rosemary Okafor doesn't disappoint in her books, she dey writeeeee 🔥🔥🔥God, Ugo and me is nothing short of goodness 🙌🙌🙌

From the book dedication I knew I was in for a beautiful ride! I couldn't rush the book, I was just dey read small, scream and continue 😂😂😂

Everybody knew I was reading a particular book that was doing something to me because I couldn't stop talking about it! I'm an unapologetic Rosemary Okafor's fan any day, any time🙌🙌🙌.

There's always this softness in R.O's book, no rush just sweet storytelling with lots of swoony moments. This book kept me smiling long after I was done, I couldn't stop smiling. It is safe to say Bro Og na green house no be green flag abeg! That bro too much!

Eiiii, I love Ugo and her sassy sef but she annoyed small. I enjoyed her banter with bro og of God😂😂😂

There is no way you will read this book and not enjoy it. No way!

God, Ugo and me is not your regular Christian romance, it is a full package. It's love, humour, faith, hope and good news woven together.

If you've read God, Micheal and Me, you will definitely love this!

I will definitely be reading again! I'm not done with this swoony book🥰🥰🥰

I don’t know how Rosemary Okafor does it, how she makes a Christian character still relatable and raw.

This story is everything, the yearning, the feelings, the humor and honorable mention ‘the quotes’. The author addressed sexual urges, temptations and desires that couples face even as Christians.

I like when I read a book that the characters are spiritual but still human. Nekaro didn’t shy away from the temptations of being attracted to Ugo and the book vividly described how he struggled and navigated these feelings. Ugo, a very funny woman, baby girl just wanted to survive and stop seeing shege in the hands of men but God had bigger plans for her. I found myself wishing she listened more, she could have avoided so many troubles.

I enjoyed reading how them being together brought blessings their way mehn.

I got so many messages from this book; spiritual sensitivity, discernment, obedience and that people rarely change.

I absolutely recommend this book if you love to read about intentional loving and spirituality

A solid 4.5⭐️ read for me.

Rosemary Okafor never truly disappoints with Christian romance. This book had everything in it; a touch of humor, wit, clean romance, friendship and God’s message.

I loved Ugo and Brother OG’s character so much, they held each other in a way that was so special and satisfying to read. There were troubles and doubts along the way, but the way they overcame it was so beautiful.

This book is such an amazing read. I loved every bit of it. Brother OG was such a good man, he was calm, always seeking the face of God, reserved and brilliant.

Ugo, hmmmm. She stressed me out sooo much. I haven’t seen anyone that doubted more than her. She was so blind to some extend I wanted to give her a dirty slap😂 She saw red flags and dangers but foolishly ignored and I hated that about her. But still, she was a really calm and reserved lady.

I loved the clean romance between Ugo and Brither OG sooo much😍 Rosemary ate down with this book and I’m applauding her for it👏 This is your sign to pick up this book and read it❤️

Love, Faith, and Obedience in One Beautiful Story

I truly enjoyed this book. It’s a realistic and refreshing portrayal of Christians and Spirit-filled believers — not as flawless, but as real people who experience emotions and desires, yet learn through the help of the Holy Spirit to bring their flesh under submission.

I also loved how he interceded for her, even when he was facing his own struggles. That part moved me deeply — it showed the beauty of selfless love, yielding, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. It’s a powerful reminder that obedience and surrender are key in our walk with God.

Another message that stood out was that not every open door is from God — some are trap doors. In a world where we often assume that success or smooth opportunities mean divine approval, this truth is timely and important.

This book is thoughtful, authentic, and full of spiritual depth. It ministers to the heart while keeping the story relatable and human.
Highly recommended.

God, Ugo and Me gave me all the feels plus more. It's a Christian romance novel with the story of Ugo and Oghene told in the most realest and hilarious way ever.

Each character, every dialogue, every scene was well written and developed. I enjoyed every bit of reading this, it was such a page turner and the silent chemistry between Oghene and Ugo made it a swoon-worthy read.

There were several lessons learnt through the pages. Here are some of them;
✨ never to be too trusting, as humans can be surprising.
✨ Not all answered prayers are a green light from God.
✨ patience is a virtue we all should possess.
✨ when God gives a prompting , it should be obeyed as delay could be dangerous.
✨ we all need good friends in our corner. A

As for some characters, Sarima, Anthony and Boma, may we never know them.
I highly recommend this book as it's a worthy read.💯

Rosemary Okafor at it again!🤭

God, Ugo and Me by Rosemary Okafor is a heartwarming and faith-filled story that beautifully blends love, family, and resilience. What struck me most was how naturally the novel shows God at the center of human connections—making the relationships feel deeper and more meaningful.

The writing is warm and inviting, with characters who feel both real and memorable. It’s the kind of book that makes you pause, reflect, and smile, while still offering moments of strength and inspiration.

Overall, this is a beautiful and uplifting tale, one that stays with you long after the final page. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys stories where love and faith walk hand in hand.❤️

The second installment of the Of God and Man series.

I read the first book, God Michael and Me and I thought it was the best. Now, this one. I don't even know which book to choose over the other. But I have to say this is one of the sweetest books I have read in a while.

I am not disappointed after reading this. I hope the third book will be this good or even much more better.
