Beneath #2

Beneath, You're Beautiful

Rate this book
Four words continue to haunt me . . .

You. Have. Breast. Cancer.

I associate them with the upheaval of my life to this point. The last few months have been a test of my strength . . . mentally, emotionally, and physically. Cancer is a monster. It preys on your mind and it consumes you, consistently reminding you of how your life used to be. Life before cancer. I was a successful business woman, running my own design firm, and was happily married to my college sweetheart. My life seemed perfect. Until it suddenly came crashing down all around me.

So, here I am, in the midst of treatment, incinerating the remnants of my shattered marriage and attempting to piece the rest of my life back together. With three amazing friends pushing me forward, the ‘post-chemo’ finish line is coming into view.

And then . . . there’s him. The man I never anticipated. The one who breathes hope and meaning back into my life. A man who kisses my scars and shows me that I’m beautiful. I never expected him. Hell, I never expected cancer. I’m finally ready to write my future, a future I never planned on, but one that is sure to exceed anything I ever imagined.

4 Emotional stars

Beneath You’re Beautiful follows Victoria on her journey right after the ending on Beneath it All. She had been in a difficult period of her life, not only fighting breast cancer, but also discovering who was worthy on being on her side and who wasn’t.

At the point comes Dr. Blake Forrester, her plastic surgeon, who was one of the people who supported her in this journey and now comes to request for a chance to be in her life, but not only as her doctor. Victoria needs to think about it, because she was dealing with a lot of shit lately and she’s not certain if she’s ready for something new, especially in her current situation, mid-chemo, bald and weak. She wonders why he picked her, when a hot, smart man like him could have anyone.

Blake made me feel normal. It was like we had known each other for longer than a few months, and I forgot that I was a woman with breast cancer.

Meanwhile, her past hits on her door again and she doesn’t know how to deal with that, when her wounds are still raw. At the same time, a similar fate seems to strike one of her friend’s life and Tori has to live all over this again, even though she’s ready to move on and forget about cancer.

My life had revolved around cancer for what felt like forever. It was nice to just be Victoria.

I really enjoyed Tori’s journey in the continuation of her story. I have to admit that this book made me more emotional and I cried until I turned numb. This book gave me a book hangover, but I’m a softie so don’t judge me. It was really beautiful watching how she was dealing with everything. Victoria is a strong woman, but even strong persons have their weak moments and it was really wonderful to join her in this self-exploration journey and how she was trying to buld back her broken pieces.

"You have to believe me when I tell you that beneath all the physical and emotional scars, you're beautiful. I want to be part of your life and I want you to be part of mine."

I loved once again her friendship with the girls, I generally love how this series shows the power of the friendship and how important friends can be in our lives. Because let’s face it. We all have a friend who will push everyone away when they get a new boyfriend-fiance-husband. Victoria had her friends on her side throughout her journey, not only when shit hit the fan, but before that and after that and I admired that in this book.

Also, Dr. Blake, man, he was so lovely, hot and caring. He was just so perfect and I think we all need a Blake in our lives. He was understanding and you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. As for Noah, all I have to say is

Last but not least, I would rather have more details about Tori's & Blake's relationship than details about cocktails and candy, but this didn't make me enjoy it any less. And yes this book speaks about cancer and it won't be the lightest read you've ever read, but it's realistic, educational, since I've learnt a lot about breast cancer through this and emotional.

PS: If you're wondering if this book has a HEA:

Book 2 picks up exactly where we left off. Victoria is moving on and recovering in more ways than one. She stays as upbeat as she can, always bringing us a bit of humor.

“I’m bald, I don’t have boobs, and my skin is dry and pasty. Let’s be honest, I look like the goddamn female version of Gollum from Lord of the Rings.”

This part of her story gave us the same emotions as the beginning did. Victoria has pain and she heals, she loves and she loses. Through it all she remains strong not just for herself this time but for her friends. I just don’t know how she did it.

“Every day I put on a happy face and try to be brave, but I’m not – I’m just a really goo liar. The battle inside my head is never-ending. It’s constant and it’s real…very real.”

Second chances are rare and special and I was happy that she was getting a couple of them. Her relationships with her friends and her love interest were very real to me, relatable and believable.

“I know it’s a lot for you to try and grasp, but you have to believe me when I tell you that beneath all of the physical and emotional scars you’re beautiful. I want to be part of your life, and I want you to want to be part of mine. You are what I need.”

“Tomorrow will close one of the chapters, and I would like to be part of the next one.”

Trust me when I say that you will LOVE these books, you will enjoy the journey just as I have!

These stories have really made me think, they have given me perspective. You can never be too safe, it’s never too early and it can happen to any of us.

remember when I read this book in June of 2014?

Beneath It All

I have been waiting on PINS & NEEDLES for THIS book. Tori pulled out all the stops and made a home run with this book. The writing is great. The characters are real. The setting is my home state (Minnesota!). There is just so so so much I really like about this story.... I want ALL OF YOU TO READ IT.

**Yes it is about cancer. but please don't let that scare you - it really is about love & character (who you are when no one is watching). So read Tori's journey... and I will be here to hold your hand.

"Beneath, You're Beautiful" is an engaging, heartwarming and emotional tale of one woman's fight against breast cancer, overcoming betrayal, and coming to terms with her new life that happens to include a new love interest, Blake. Through it all, Victoria is lucky to have the love and support of her best friends, as well as Blake. I loved reading about the dynamics the best friends all shared. Each one of them truly shined. Everyone should be so lucky to have friends like Bobbie Jo, Dana and Jen. We witness Victoria's inner strength during her bouts of chemo, losing all her hair, and finally accepting and believing that she's still beautiful, inside and out. When faced with another major hurdle, though difficult, we feel her struggle and despair during this trying time. The author wrote this story with such care and respect, everything about the story and the characters felt genuine.

That being said, what didn't work for me was the romance between Blake and Victoria. It felt too polite and too sweet; that everything was just too perfect. Everything about their relationship made them come across as much older than they were. I'm sure I'm the only one who thinks this but it all felt forced. I certainly didn't feel any chemistry or heat between the two. Don't shoot the messenger but they were a very boring and mundane couple.

One last thing, I loved the Epilogue. Nice way to end the story.

In the end, this is still a stirring and emotional read that many will enjoy.

This series is one that has been on my tbr list for awhile. It's one of those series that had me wanting to read it so badly, but I was scared at all the emotions that it would make me feel while I read it. And, I was right - it did make me feel everything. I cried, I laughed, I ached, I cheered, my heart broke and rejoiced and best of all I felt hope.

I could never say enough wonderful things about Victoria. She faced head on, not only the cancer that invaded her life and body - but the loss of the one person that she truly thought she could rely upon. She faced it all with courage, and grace even amidst the fear. Luckily for her, she was blessed to have the support of three wonderful woman and parents who loved and cared for her whole-heartedly, along with amazing doctors who helped her through her "journey".

I'd encourage anyone to read this book and experience the journey that Victoria went on. Ride the wave of her highs and lows, her diagnosis and recovery, losing love and finding it again but even better. This book was so inspirational for me, and I know I'm glad I finally took the ride and read these books.

One of the Best Sentences Ever:
“Project Fake Nips was now commencing.”

FIRST OFF:
If you have not read book one, “Beneath It All” — STOP READING THIS AND GO READ THAT!!!

This review will contain spoilers for book one, and you desperately need to read book one first!!!

— Did you read book one? Yes? Good! OK!!! On to the Review! —

If it were possible to give a book (or a series) more than five stars… this would be it. Similar to Spinal Tap’s amp that goes up to 11, this book would go up to a 12.

I am incredibly grateful that a friend asked me if I’d like to review this book by an author that I’ve never heard of… At first I was a bit wary as a lot of review books have been letting me down lately. I asked her if I could read book two as a standalone or if I should read book one first, and she emphatically said that I needed to read book one. So I did… in about 24 hours.

I TORE through that book, and then I devoured book two (metaphorically).

As reviewers, we’re supposed to give honest opinions and here’s mine:
I am in love with Tori Madison and all that she writes. I literally got 30% of the way through “Beneath It All” and wrote to most of the women in my family and demanded that they read it.

Book two begins with Victoria calling Dr Blake Forrester back — after he’s transferred her to another doctor and asked her out for coffee… after her marriage fell apart due to her husband Noah being a lying, cheating scumbag… I was actually writing out my thoughts as they came to the aforementioned friend and informed her,
“I want to attempt to kill Noah in a slow, mangled process that leaves him horribly disfigured, impotent and in pain for the rest of his life because as he begs for death I’ll deny it to him.”
She found this hilarious and passed it along to Ms. Madison. A good laugh was had by all…. but seriously… Have you seen or read “The Princess Bride”? In the end, when Westley claims they will fight “to the pain”? Look up that quote. That’s what Noah deserves.

These books aren’t just about triumph over a disease that is prevalent in 1-in-8 women… it’s not just about loss and pain.. it’s about sisterhood, best friends, rebirth, strength, the ability to know when you need to be left alone… and the ability to know you need to be held and not be strong for a little while… Just when Victoria thinks she’s about to be free… cancer finds its way back into her life.

This book made me cry — and that’s a very rare thing for me. I’m not a crier. This book made me literally laugh out loud. I have so many quotes highlighted it looks like a coloring book. Her use of music in the book is perfect, and she has my undying love for including the song “Falling Slowly” — arguably one of the best and most underrated love songs ever.

This book is wise, and innocent; it’s painful and free; it’s dark and filled with light; and it’s sexy (Yeah… some pretty awesome sex)… It’s everything that an amazing, memorable book should be. Tori Madison has that skill, rarely seen these days, of using a simple turn of phrase with dialogue and making it just click with something inside of you. Victoria is speaking to her friend, Bobbie Jo, saying she knows she will feel beautiful again “… someday” and Bobbie Jo responds with, “You’re beautiful every day…” — Where one would say “you’re always beautiful”, Tori Madison switches it up just enough to have it stick with you. It is reminiscent of moments of dialogue by Nora Roberts’ — which is one of the highest compliments I can give.

I can only hope that Tori Madison writes more — I know I’ll read pretty much anything she puts out. If my ranting and raving hasn’t driven you away yet — good. Know that you need to read these books, and share them with the special women in your lives. Be aware of your body and spend time with those you love. Don’t ever block out love. Let it come to you. And never settle for less than you deserve.

Read these books. Find her on FB or Goodreads and let her know how they’ve touched your life.

Other Fantastic Quotes:
“I’m bald, I don’t have boobs, and my skin is dry and pasty. Let’s be honest, I look like the goddamn female version of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.”

“You know what? I’m done hearing Noah’s name. I don’t want to hear it anymore.” “You mean, fuck-nuts?” “What? Did you just call him ‘fuck-nuts’?” “I sure did. Isn’t it fitting?”

“Because let’s be honest, breakfast without bacon was a crime.”

Put my review together for this breathtaking book words can't describe the feels this book gives you. I can't wait for everyone to read it and continue Victoria's journey
This was a continuation to Victoria's journey. And let me tell you it was a beautiful one. This series embraces things in life that we sometimes over look. Victoria is one of the strongest woman I have ever seen.  Everything this woman has been through and the beauty she shows is simply phenomenal. So from the beginning to end of book one we watch her fight the C word. But not only that she deals with so much more then most people could handle. If I could pick one fictional character to be my best friend it would be Victoria. And I would also want to be apart of her amazing friends she has these girls define true beauty. At the end of book one were left with omg are you kidding me please accept the offer. So book two begins with a new start of her life and yes her journey is still in full affect. But only she takes the offer and the chemistry between these two and the connection between them is so real.  They start off pretty strong of course she is still struggling with everything but she's starting to see the light and the beauty inside herself. She still has this unbelievable support system that we could only dream about having if we ever had to go through anything like this. Bobbie-jo who is just this crazy but beautiful person inside and out.  Jen who will fight any battle for you she can. And Dana who just let's you vent no judgment but great advice. I was blown away by these woman who are simply amazing. Jillian what can I say about the courage of this woman who I am sure would do anything for anybody. Along the way something tragic happens that has her questioning everything and everyone in her life.  I completely understand why she felt the way she did even though I wanted to hurt my best friend Victoria and say no please don't hesitate now. But she takes some time to evaluate what's right for her and she gets some valuable advice from another character in this book who will make you want to just live and enjoy everything that life gives us. No matter what the struggles or non hea it doesn't matter. Because we all are given a chance to take a journey in life. It's ultimately up to you to decide how that journey goes. I am a huge fan of this author and consider her a friend for life. I am truly blessed to have her in my life. And her knowledge of breast cancer will be with me forever. You Tori Madison are my hero your a survivor but no matter what I will always be aware of what to look for because you gave me that gift that I will treasure forever.

I loved Beneath it All and I feel like I've been waiting forever for Beneath, You're Beautiful. We pick up right where we left off. Victoria is deciding to call Blake and take him up on his coffee date offer. I missed Blake. The chemistry between Blake and Victoria is off the charts. He's sexy, charming, funny and deeply cares for her. Victoria is still fighting her battle with cancer, but she's becoming more independent and less angry day by day. As Blake and Victoria start a romance, a lot of things start to happen around them. Bobbie Jo is dealing with something horrible and trying to keep it together. Noah rears his ugly head. The girls have more opinions and more bonding time together. Victoria is learning to stand up for herself and trying to let go of her past and move onto her future. Can she decide what's in her heart before it's too late? Will she lose Blake because she can't get over her past? I love Vitoria and her friends and I'm jealous that I don't have friends like that! Blake is just so perfect. If you polled a room full of women and asked for them to name 3 things their ideal mate would have, Blake has them all. He's perfect. :) I thought this story was beautifully told and beautifully written. And, the epilogue was amazing. I cried, laughed, yelled and cried some more. Tori Madison is one of my new favorite authors!!

"You're a light in a darkening world. But most of all, you have something I've yet to see in a woman other than my mother: you exude true beauty in every facet of the word."

"I'm attracted to you more than I have ever been attracted to another woman. Webster's dictionary doesn’t contain the appropriate word to describe you."

"What? I'm on vacation. I'm allowed to have a few treats…and since when did you become the chocolate police?"

"As a child, I dreamt of finding Wonder Woman dancing provocatively in my kitchen while making dinner. Guess they're right when they say to never give up on your dreams."

What can I say about Beneath, You're Beautiful but it was simply emotionally gratifying and beautifully written.

You can expect to be taken to places so low you didn’t know you could get there, but in the end, through all the strife, the road is so beautiful you don’t even mind. She gives you layers upon layers of raw beauty, just enough to balance out the pain. And when you find yourself on the last page, you sigh with relief. Not because it’s over, but because you survived. You survived and you know you’ll never be the same. She touches parts of your heart you never knew existed and her characters become a permanent part of your chemical makeup. Tori's words pull emotions from so far deep inside yourself that you never knew they even existed. The words flow across the page and lodge deep into your heart never to be set free. There is so much comedic relief between Tori and her girlfriends that it makes you want to jump in the book and have cocktails with them all.
Loved this series and all of the characters that make this book work..

This is the conclusion to Beneath It All. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!!

In this story, we continue to see Victoria deal with everything. She still has that amazing support system: her friends and family and now Blake :) (Dr Sexy). I can't put into words how much I LOVED that man. He was exactly what Victoria needed.

We go through her journey and I felt every emotion possible. I went from happy to sad to mad and back to happy. Something happened that I didn't see coming and the tears that followed..oh my. However, it's real life and it was just amazing. Things happen that you can't control, but you have to move forward. This book is a real eye opener and as I said with the first book, this is a must read It's a story about hope, loss, love and most of all surviving...The perfect conclusion to Victoria's story!!!

Omg I absolutely loved this book!!! Once I read BIA I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and read more of Victoria's story. How would things go for her? Would she give in to Dr McHottie and go have coffee with him? Would there be a future for them or would Noah have a change of heart and try to get his wife back? Gahhh I could go on and on but I'll stop for now so I dont give anything away....

Tori...thank you so much for allowing me to beta BYB!! I absolutely loved it and I can't wait for others to read more on Victoria and the whole gang!!

If you havent read Beneath it all...go now and one click! Trust me when I say its one heck of a ride but you wont want to put down till the end. Once BYB goes live I will add more on this review :)

The wait is over! I have been chomping at the bit to read what happens with Victoria and McHottie. Ms. Madison brings it in the follow up to Beneath It All.
I admire Victoria’s strength. I honestly don’t know if I would have the courage to go through the battles Victoria went through. Dr. Mc Hottie aka Blake has a sweet soul and is sexy as sin. It was great to see Noah get his just desserts. This book leaves me giggling one minute, highlighting one-liners hoping I can use them one day and in tears the next. I loved this book the sad emotional moments.

This series has taught me to do monthly self breast exams and to live my life for today and not tomorrow. Thank You, Tori Madison for having the courage to write this series.

The second book in this duet was even better the first. Tori Madison has proven that she is one helluva great writer and can take something so personal and so close to her very being and give it life. This saga of a seemingly happily married woman and the struggles she faces in battling breast cancer kept me riveted.

In this book, Victoria is now pushing forward with her life after her less than noble husband left her for another woman while she so bravely wages the war against this hideous disease. With her trio of besties by her side and the surprise love that she begins to explore with her former doctor, it seems that nothing can stop this formidable woman from conquering the world.

We watch as she painstakingly goes through her treatments, so starkly recalled by the author yet presented almost lovingly to the reader. This personal journey, that we are witness to from the start, is so beautiful told. I am continually in awe of this character and her strength to get well.

Her knight in shining armor, Dr. Blake Forrester, might just be one of the sexiest doctors I have ever read. His ongoing patience and support had me swooning something fierce. But even in my envy, it was hard not to love his devotion to his woman, when she felt so broken. So unworthy of true love. The way he worships her is simply breathtaking.

What I loved was that the story does not hold back. We are exposed to all the awful side effects of cancer yet, we are also subject to the abundance of love that Victoria gains tenfold from not only Dr. McHottie but from those crazy broads, Jen, Bobbie Jo and Dana. Their unconditional support and love of their friend not only made me extremely glad and also laugh often but also brought a tear to my eyes more than once at the special nature of their relationship. The much needed comic relief in the form of Bobbie Jo warmed my heart. She is quite the character and Victoria is quite lucky to have her.

Although there is some drama that unfolds and a few bumps that continue to set up shop in Victoria's road to happiness, overall this story truly made me smile. In the end it is a story of hope, perseverance and the abundance of surprises and twists and turns that life can have in store when you least expect them. The author took what she knew and wrote a tale that she couldn't help but knock out of the park. It is a part of her and it shows.

This book ends with quite possibly the most perfect parting line a character has ever uttered. You will want to pump your fist up in the air when you read it.

I applaud the author for digging deep within herself and writing a story that resonated so profoundly. I know this storyline will have a huge impact and is well deserved of the accolades it will surely receive.

A huge 5 stars for a job just so well done.

ARC gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Every once in a while a story comes along that just makes your heart smile. It makes the heavy subject matter a little bit easier to swallow. It gives you hope and a happily ever after that you crave for the heroine just because she has been through so much and it would make your heart happy to know that life is still good.

Beneath You’re Beautiful picks up where Beneath It All left off. Victoria is in the grips of dealing with chemotherapy and is having a hard time reconciling her body image to what she thinks she should look like. All the while she is being pursued by Dr. Blake Forrester. We see Victoria slowly come to the realization that she is worthy and needs to move forward in her life. We see her reconcile the hurt that Noah left her with and we see her find the positive in her life.

The romance with Blake and Victoria is just what Victoria needed in her life at this moment. Blake is nothing but a gentleman with her. He’s sweet, supportive, smart and just an all-around good guy. I liked him in the prior book but came to love his character even more in this book.

Throughout this story, we see Victoria’s strength grow. We see her come out of her shell and see her learn to live with life she’s been given. Her friends are still there, supporting her and going through struggles in their own lives. I love the humor that is infused in this book and the way the subject matter is handled. I love the fact that we have a positive view of cancer and one that shows us all we can survive it. That people can move forward and live through something like this.

Tori Madison does a great job of showing us that through life’s ups and downs there is still hope. Hope for good days ahead and hope for new beginnings. Another great job by Tori!

This book is a continuation of Beneath It All. It is Victoria's journey from sickness, desolation, healing, to loving and being loved again and believing that you deserve that love. Through a super support group: Bobbie Jo, Jen, and Dana, Victoria is given a second chance at not only life but love. Dr. McHottie, her once plastic surgeon, has decided to give up her case to a co-worker to explore their relationship. I believe that this helps Victoria overcome her ex-husband's infidelity and puts her on a path to love, though not always a smooth path but some bumps in the road with Noah and his lover. I simply love the fact that Victoria's friends never let her hide away and feel sorry for herself. They make her face life head-on, face the challenges and overcome them.

In BYB, Victoria battles her self-esteem and tries to get back on the horse of being single all the while still fighting to overcome this beast we call cancer. Through this journey, Victoria continues to become stronger and stronger and more confident...all with some help from a certain HOTTIE. Victoria faces her past with Noah and puts their broken relationship to bed while looking forward to a new beginning with Dr. Blake Forrester. This new relationship is exactly what Victoria needed. Blake is so caring, compassionate, loving, sweet, smart, and supportive. He is able to give Victoria exactly what she needed to overcome the disease and the battle she fought in her mind.

This book, although it is fiction, allows you a glimpse into what a cancer victim is going through. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. You go through all the emotions while reading this book. Tori Madison shows us that even though life may throw us lemons that we don't have to lie down and die...we choose our path and what we make of it. MAKE LEMONADE and flip your middle finger at cancer!!

Heart-warming and beautiful, more tears of happiness and sadness such a huge amount of emotion from both these books so well written and makes you think that breast cancer can hit you at any age. Anyway don’t let the thought of cancer spoil a great read there is love, lots and lots of laughter in these books. Sizzle tits and fuck-nuts.

Book 2 picks up where #1 left off and Victoria has plucked up the courage to call Dr McHottie aptly named by Bobbie Jo, and after her just signing divorce papers which her douche of a husband Noah left for her after he went off with Stacey whilst in the middle of treatment. Feeling hurt and wondering why he would want someone who looks like the female version of Gollum from Lord of the Rings. But with the help of her friends she meets him and she finds the reason he stopped being her doctor and well let’s just say he liked her from the start but she was with Noah. Things are going well with Blake and he sees her beauty even though she doesn’t see it herself.

But tragedy strikes for a 2nd time and this time it’s Bobbie Jo’s sister that has been affected and now needing to be a pillar of strength for her friends as they have for her Victoria realises that she may one day die from cancer and the thoughts of what if it comes back go through her mind and not wanting to put Blake through the heartache of losing someone else he loves and cares about she pushes him away but he doesn’t give up on her and on the day of her reconstruction surgery she admits how she really feels towards him “I’m falling”.

This story does have an HEA and I karma does come round for Noah let’s just say he is a dick and a douche and all the other non-polite ways for these words.

Happy reading and ladies after reading this I will be checking every month.

Beneath You’re Beautiful Review

This is my honest review in return for an ARC.

The storyline that is included in this story is very close to my heart as a friend of mine had cancer. I knew yet again that this book was going to make me cry, and yeah yet again I had puffy and red eyes from reading this book. Throughout the book there are moments that was actually quite difficult to read but this is a story about survival, about fighting and how life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to.

Victoria is a kick ass survivor who has been through so many things and got through it. The last book ended on a cliff hanger so when I finally got my hands on this book, I was so excited. This book didn’t disappoint me at all.

It has been a eye opener in some ways, I am very diligent usually about giving myself an exam but a particular storyline that happen in this book had me in tears for a few hours. Whilst this is fiction, it is easy to see it happening in real life. My heart ached for the characters, I felt every gut punch, every smile radiate through me and I truly went on an emotional rollercoaster. This book will stay with me forever. I am so glad that last year I got the chance to read Tori’s debut novel, she is an inspiration to me and one day I will follow in her footsteps and write my book.

I loved the story; it is real, honest and truthful. Ladies I recommend this read so much! You will need a box of tissues and a cuddle at some point. I know I did.

4.5 Heartwarming Stars

Such a great, great book! Tori has given us another heart-wrenchingly wonderful tale. Fabulous ending to Victoria's story, or beginning to her story I should say.

This is a tale of surviving, but it is so much more. Friendship and love take center stage.

Blake has to be one of the most awesome men, in print! He is total BBF material. Ladies if you are wondering if men like him really exist, I will tell you "yes, they do" because I am married to one. Blake is so supportive and kind. When he loves you at your worst, he will worship you at your best!

Noah is still his usual douchcanoe self. But Karma is a real b**ch when you tick her off.

Victoria faces so many struggles. I really wanted to just shake her and tell her to stop the insanity at certain points. We all deal with hardships in our own ways, she just needed to open her eyes and see herself as the triumphant goddess that she is and not the insecure person she believed herself to be.

I have never faced Breast Cancer but I have faced many struggles of my own. Where pain consumes your life, where you can not see the light at the end of the tunnel, where you are ugly and broken, not knowing if tomorrow will be better or worse. I felt Victoria's pain, I felt her grief, and I felt her victory.

This books shows that life is short, with or without a debilitating disease. Enjoy what we have, while we have it. Hug hard, love fierce, enjoy each second.

MINOR SPOILERS!!!!

Have you ever read a book where you couldn't move on? NOT because the book didn't have closure. Because this book has it! NOT because this book didn't show karma to people who deserved it. Because this book has it!

It's because I wanted to stay with Victoria, Blake, and her friends. I wanted to bask in their happiness and continue to observe everything they went through. Tori Madison includes the reader to the point you feel like you are in this story. You identify yourself with Victoria or One of her friends. I didn't want to say goodbye, but the ending is EPIC!!! its tear-worthy beautiful.

And BLAKE!! what could you not say about Blake, he is everything a woman wants, yes he is good looking, and has dirty mouth, a Dr. and is good in the bedroom. wait is there more? LOL YES he has a beautiful soul! Victoria and Blake both see beyond looks and what things should appear to be, BEYOND THE SURFACE, that's the difference from Blake (to me) and Noah.

" He see you, not what is on the outside, but what's beneath. Don't you understand that?"

"The facade of cancer doesn't hide what lies beneath. You're beautiful."

Grab your tissues, Yes this story will deal with a lost, a gain, and a happy ending.

This is truly a story of HOPE. At times in our lives, we face daily struggles, sometimes we have to fight, or just let go to find our happiness. Never go a day without LIVING & LOVING.

A beautiful ending to the series

Did you read Beneath It All? Stop. Turn around and one-click that. Then come back to read the reviews.

Because “Hello?”

If you read my review for book one, I was hesitant. However, I jumped into book two without indecision. Now, Ms. Madison takes on the rest of Victoria’s journey. New chapters are written with Bobbi Jo, Jen, Dana and Blake. Oh Blake (fans self). New characters are introduced such as Margaret and Jillian. Although Jillian is a minor character, she has a powerful, lasting impression on the reader to the very end of the novel. There are two defined stories in this book: one of Victoria and Blake’s love and the other Best Friends you can’t live without. Both plot journeys are interwoven yet separate in ways. I just thank god for Dana because at one point I wasn’t sure how I was going to jump into my Kindle to shake some sense into Victoria. Blake and Victoria’s love story was so believable; love is never , ever easy. Best Friends story was so thrilling to have four seemingly strong women show you their weak sides.

I know some readers like one book and you’re done. However, I agree with the author. There was no way to tell all of Victoria’s journey in one book and do the character justice. Oh, and the epilogue – I love Karma.

You cannot read the first one without the second. It a complete full circle experience. A joy to read. It’ll break your heart, put it back together and you’ll be stronger for it.

Beneath, You're Beautiful is the follow-up to Beneath It All, where we met Victoria Madison, her husband Noah, Dr. McHottie and her super sassy gal pals, Bobbie Jo, Jen and Dana. When we left Victoria, she was boob deep in life changes, none of which she voluntarily signed up for.

In Beneath, You're Beautiful, Victoria is trying to put together the shattered pieces of her life that she was left holding. Mid-treatment for breast cancer, newly single, and trying to come to terms with her life, her state of mind and her physical appearance, Victoria has her ups, downs and everything in between.

Beneath, You're Beautiful is one of the most real fictional books you'll ever experience. The overall story may be fictional, but the journey that Victoria is on as a result of her diagnosis is real for far too many.

You will laugh at her ridiculously awesome friends, swoon over Dr. McHottie and his romantics, and cry over her struggles and losses. You will want to toast her strength, hug her when she falters and wipe away her tears.

Tori Madison earns the coveted badge of being the first author to ever reduce me to tears. Congratulations on another beautiful book, Tori. I'm honored that it was you that popped my book tears cherry.

4.5 Stars

I fell in love with Victoria and her friends in Beneath it All but what truly captivated me was the storyline and Victoria's journey. My God, you think you've felt everything and then Tori Madison strips you are swirling in a hurricane of feelings and emotions that leave you breathless. You think you can't break anymore and then you break some more. Your heart is in fragments and you are in pieces as Tori brings you to the ledge and makes you feel like you've never felt before. This book is filled with powerful positive messages and amazingly strong women that will lift you up and become your beacon. Your home. Your safe place. Your happy place. These characters become a part of you, an extended family that you will embrace with all that you are. Such a beautiful story and a beautiful journey that I will never ever forget. You'll cry hard and laugh harder and love it even harder because you simply have no choice. On the surface it's love and hope but the beautiful is beneath it all. A connection that runs so deep the pages bleed with honest, true, raw emotion.

True Beauty Lies Beneath The Scars
Just when Victoria thought that her world was falling apart Blake shows up and truly understands her,he sees her for what she really is and not the cancer. He makes her chaos disappear, admires her for her courage and strength, supporting her and allowing her the space she needs to discover herself.Through this journey Victoria realizes that she was given this life to grow, learn and accept her flaws because those are what make her unique. She now acknowledges that the future that lies ahead of her is even more beautiful and meaningful because she has found true love from a man who had seen her at her worst and yet found her to be perfect! Both Victoria and Blake saw that beneath all the scars true beauty prevailed.A beautiful conclusion to a sad story that will grip your very soul.Full of happy and sad moments( a box of tissues are mandatory),the book left me with a strong feeling of hope...loved reading your story Tori Madison.Thank you for the reality and the imaginary...both made this novel a 5 star read for me!

Tori Madison does it again!!! She shares a strength in Victoria that I hope to have should I ever find myself hearing those 4 words. She shows true friendship in Bobbie Jo, Dana and Jen. The relationships in this book are so real, you can relate so easily to these women and sometimes feel like you're just another member of their group. BYB is another roller coaster ride of emotions but these emotions are real....I laughed and highlighted little funnies. I cried, felt struggles and loses as my own but I also smiled at the victories and felt love, true love. Love of friendship, love of family and love of life. I also still smile BIG every time I think of the ending....wish I could say why but I think you should read and find out! But, I will say that Victoria is a lot classier than I am bc when opportunities for throwing up the birds arise then I find it hard to resist. ;)--hey, that's just me!!!

♡♡♡Reviewed by Book Fancy Blog ♡♡♡

Have you ever read one of those stories that you just can't get your mind off of it? Well this book has struck with me. I'm constantly thinking about Tori, Blake (Dr. Mchottie), Jen, Bobby Jo, and Dana. This book has all the emotional ups and down and even a few surprises along the way.

This story continues where Beneath It All leaves off. Tori is adjusting to life without Noah, doing Chemotherapy and reconstruction. She still has her crazy friends there for support. There is even a new character that gets Tori think about her life after chemo and reconstruction. What will happen between Dr. Mchottie and Tori. Will she make it and find love or will she break?

Tori you have written a beautiful novel and thank you for sharing this journey with us. You are one strong woman.

This is definitely in my top 5 reads. Can't wait to see what you write next.

This is the follow-up novel to Beneath It All & it is just as well written & just as emotionally gripping as the first book was.

This 2 book series is literally one of the most heartbreaking/heartwarming series I have ever read. It is a story of hope, faith & the beauty of the human spirit, as well as the beauty of true love. After everything Victoria went through in the first book, the cancer, chemo, the failure of a marriage that she thought was so secure, it was just so uplifting & inspiring to see her embrace the future & a chance at true love.

I would have loved to see Noah get his ass kicked (metaphorically speaking) a little more than he did but in true form, Tori Madison provided us with a very fitting comeuppance, in my humble opinion.

Ms. Madison, thank you for a truly inspiring (& yet sexy) conclusion to your Beneath series. I look forward to your next endeavor.

What a super fabulous ending to this series!

What a journey Victoria walked. She's been to hell and back, has moved ahead from a cowardly sleaze ball and come out on top of the world.
The struggle wasn't over yet at the start of this book but Victoria was at the peak. Life is going well with treatments ending and reconstruction looming when a surprise pops up. Dr McHottie makes his move for the future. It's rocky going with a few bumps but very promising.
I so loved this book. The part I was really looking for, Noah the rat, didn't satisfy me for all the pain he caused. I truly felt he deserved a knife in the gut. Thankfully, the epilogue gave me what I needed. In fact, it was so good I read it three times. I actually cackled. Awesomeness!!!
Well worth the tears to read this book.
