Blindfolded Innocence is a book I've had on my kindle for YEARS. I decided to listen to the audio version this week and I loved it. This book took me out of my comfort zone. There were parts I wasn't happy with the hero (which is maybe the only reason it's not a 5) but I have to say he really grew on me by the end I loved DeLuca! I think he's one of those characters you have to learn about completely before you can really start to like him.
Brad DeLuca is a senior partner in a law firm. He's known for sleeping with clients, sleeping with interns, pretty much just sleeping around. Julia is warned about him from the start. She is an intern at his law firm under another partner. Julia has no inclination to go there with Brad, but he can be pretty irresistible...
I loved that Julia was able to get out of her comfort zone with Brad. I also loved that she was a strong and intelligent heroine. The way Brad and Julia's relationship progressed felt natural, even if it wasn't the most normal of relationships. I like the way you saw it grow and develop. Alessandra's writing style is wonderful. I love how her books always go out of the box a bit. And that last scene. OMG. After reading that I am diving straight into the next book!

Why oh why did it take me so long to read this? My first book by Allesandra Torre was Sex Love Repeat and I absolutely fell in love with her writing style. I then went back and one-clicked every single book by her, this included. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this; it being her debut book and having some mixed reviews. I shouldn't have been concerned in the least. I really can't go wrong with a book by this author. Brad De Luca now has my pervy little heart in the palm of his hand. But I digress...
Julia is a 21 year old Pre-Law student that just landed an internship at one of the most prestigious law firms. Fresh off a broken engagement, she's not looking to get wrapped up in a man again too soon, especially a manwhoring womanizer that every person at the firm warns her off of.
The one thing I love about Alessandra's writing are her heroines. Julia may be young and not exactly coming from a vast sexual experience, but she was no blushing ingenue. She was feisty, sassy, and gave as good as she got.
Brad De Luca is the firm's most successful divorce attorney. He's used to getting what he wants, and he's not exactly lacking for women. But when Julia continually denies his advances, he's intrigued. He has to have her. And let's face it, there's only so long that Julia can fight the incredible sexual pull between them.
Julia doesn't believe in sex without love. Brad doesn't believe that his perfect woman exists so why deny the pleasure of sex. They share nothing in common except for the attraction that is slowly coming to a boil between them.
But little by little Brad slowly chips away at Julia's doubts and Julia begins to see that she's not exactly the good girl that she once believed herself to be. Brad is an enigma that she just can't seem to stay away from or quite figure out.
So what is it that Brad wants from his women? His kink? That "thing" he wants that he doesn't think the type of woman he'd want to marry will be able to give him?
Guess you'll just have to read it and find out!
Guess I'm sadistic that way ;)
I'm looking forward to learning more about Brad and seeing where book two takes his relationship with Julia, because let me tell you...that scene at the end? Good lord, gimme more of that.

5 Brad Delicious De Luca Stars....
I adore the writing style of Alessandra Torre, she captures my imagination with her well thought out characters and stories, and of course, she writes the most delicious erotic and sexually gorgeous scenes... They are divine. Needless to say I've been looking forward to this series immensely.... A few things were troubling me, would some activities go too far for my comfort levels? Would they push my feels? Would I find some aspects of this story a little too tricky? Would Julia bug me? In a nutshell, the answer is NO, NO, NO!!! Somehow this author pushed my limits in a way I could totally accept and LOVE...

The premise
Julia is a law student and has successfully secured an internship at a prestigious law firm. It will look amazing on her CV and improve her future prospects. Brad is one of the partners, he's older and has a reputation that proceeds him.... The attractive, female interns are kept away from Brad.
Blindfolded Innocence is the epitome of a character driven book with an amazing, erotic story. And I have lots of lovely feelings about ALL of it....
Julia, our young lady
If I'm blunt, Julia, initially, appears to be a little cocky, self righteous, and too sure of herself, which I know could annoy some readers, but turn that on it’s head and we have a confident, self assured young woman who has a plan for her life, knows what she wants and is not afraid to say it. She’s attractive and knows how to use her feminine ways to give herself a confidence boost from attracting the attention of me.
I love Julia's dry sense of humour laced with sarcasm, there are a few great quips that really made me smile.
She has beliefs, morals, ideals. Sex for her is an, ‘emotional thing,’ and she will NOT give herself to just anyone.
Will something or someone break Julia's resolve on this? Deep down is she as ‘proper’ as she portrays? Does she have hidden desires that are yet to be discovered?

Brad is intoxicating, he's the definition of power, intelligence, sophistication and sexuality.. He exudes it. It pours out of every fiber of his being…. He lights up the page with his charisma and looks.
The discussions about sex through Brad’s eyes are very interesting, the slant he puts on societies perception of what is appropriate and acceptable, what is considered right and wrong, moral and immoral…..??? It’s fascinating.
Brad's family history has undoubtedly had a lasting effect on his personality, his drive and determination. Maybe even more than we have yet discovered.

They are inexplicably drawn to each other, even though there are aspects within each of them that the other person should stay away from.
Vegas....
They take a trip to Vegas….. LOTS and LOTS of fun to be experienced in Vegas. Their trip was luscious in many, many ways....
I melted a little!!!
Julia has a moment, something in her is released... Her behaviour, although a little out of character, balanced out Brad for me, if you've read the book, you'll know what I mean?!!

Because he’s so honest about his proclivities, I believe everything he says….. That's one of the many qualities drawing me to this fictional book character in a big way….. “…..in his vulnerability I saw possibility.." And I adored!!!
It's a highly erotic, sexy, push my limits story but, in my opinion, there's a beauty to it also, not only in the writing but in the developing relationship.
I love books that take me away. Take me to another world. A world far removed from where I function. And Blindfolded Innocence does that in buckets. Alessandra Torre's writing style and characterization is just brilliant, she shows me so much.... The dialogue is spotless and full of personality. This book doesn’t just explore sex, but love and friendship, relationships, acceptability... What does it take to make a successful relationship? “…choosing the correct person is the most important step.” True story!
***Choose this story, relax, accept and enjoy....That's what I did.

Damn... try being an intern at his law firm. Get stuck with the boring, overloaded corporate cases while others... just down the hallway are able to intern with the Divorce God... Brad De Luca. Women put their dissolving marriages on hold just to have him represent them and do all sorts of other things with him.
Brad is a force. He enters a room and sucks all of the air out of it. He is a little older but built with strong written all over his body; back, thighs, arms, and cock.
Everything a woman would want to touch, taste, and handle her.
He works hard and plays hard... and he plays by his own rules.
Julia Campbell is said intern at the firm. She is exactly the "type" Brad has been known to go after. Pretty, young, (21) bright, and has a sexual undercurrent. She has not had many sexual partners and both were not satisfying, leading her to develop this idea that she could "take it or leave it"; mostly teasing dates with her wanting control, then walking away.
Julia is told to stay totally, absolutely away from Brad De Luca.
Brad knows she is "off limits" and of course, these directives work like a moth to flame.
Brad pursues Julia, she says no. He pursues her through lunches, and meetings and then tempts her with a trip to Vegas where no one from the office will ever find out. The pull of attraction proves too much for her and she goes with him.
Things happen in Vegas that live up to the slogan. Brad gives her many firsts: orgasms, cigars, gambling, and strip clubs to name a few.
What was most interesting and revealing was the discussion of love vs sex. This was done by bantering smart, real concepts. You felt the characters were pretty equal in their ability to spare with each other... she maybe not as polished as him but she was not a pushover. She made her decisions on her terms and that was refreshing.
After the Vegas experience, they both go back to work pretending not to have had any type of contact.
It doesn't seem to be working for Brad, a first. He clearly was more moved by this experience. He has decided to lay it out on the line with Julia.. presenting what it would be like to actually have a relationship with him; what he likes and wants...
This book was a real pleasure for me. I was interested from the start as there were little hints along the way at the beginning of each chapter to a type of sexual play. I was alert to something happening in the future while the rest of the chapter gave me insight to the participants.
I liked always knowing who the characters were; what they thought and were not running away from how they felt about things. Julia may have been young but wasn't a pushover for me. She was sarcastic, cutting sometimes in her responses to Brad, and willing to experience her life.
The secondary characters supported each other and we learned a bit about them, so their actions matched what we knew.
Brad De Luca is the type of man every woman would like to experience at some point in her life... at least I got to have him ... on the page.
There is more Brad coming.... and I cannot wait.

It doesn't seem to be working for Brad, a first. He clearly was more moved by this experience. He has decided to lay it out on the line with Julia.. presenting what it would be like to actually have a relationship with him; what he likes and wants...
This book was a real pleasure for me. I was interested from the start as there were little hints along the way at the beginning of each chapter to a type of sexual play. I was alert to something happening in the future while the rest of the chapter gave me insight to the participants.
I liked always knowing who the characters were; what they thought and were not running away from how they felt about things. Julia may have been young but wasn't a pushover for me. She was sarcastic, cutting sometimes in her responses to Brad, and willing to experience her life.
The secondary characters supported each other and we learned a bit about them, so their actions matched what we knew.
Brad De Luca is the type of man every woman would like to experience at some point in her life... at least I got to have him ... on the page.
There is more Brad coming.... and I cannot wait.

Blindfolded Innocence is the 1st book in the Innocence Series and it was such a sexy and entertaining read.
Now I understand the magic of Brad de Luca….

He's also a highly sexual man and has slept with half the town including his clients, he's used to getting what he wants and because of his reputation and his Polyamorous lifestyle his partners have the female interns and he has the male. He also stays in his wing and the female Interns stay in theirs. (or that's what they're supposed to do)
This is all due to reputation
Julia Campbell is working hard to get to her goal and to do that is wanting to gain respect from the firm that will get her to places she wants to go. She is also confident in her sexuality and a tease to the men, she gets them, works them up then walk away... So when she meets Brad she soon discovers how she should stay clear of him, she's way out of her depth, but there's that powerful pull that she just can't seem to stay away from.
Annnnnd there's too much of a magnetic pull no mater what her own attorney tells her she embarks on a journey that's forbidden but highly erotic, arousing, alluring and Intense.
Brad does not do relationships though and that's something that Julia has only ever done she's stuck on finding the one, she's just come out of a break up where she was engaged but they didn't fit so it ended.... I enjoyed Sex, love, repeat which was my first read from this author but I'm adoring this series so far it's grabbed my attention for sure, the writings as always is exquisite. I loved Brad, I'm coming round to Julia let the journey continue onto the next...

Holy Mother-of-Endings that final scene was FUCKHOT!
Julia is an intern recently accepted into a renowned law firm. Unfortunately, she gets stuck interning for the guy specializing in boring corporate law and who notoriously works 80 hour work weeks. Her friend Todd gets to intern for the hot and very famous divorce attorney Brad De Luca. They won't put a female with Brad as he has a reputation of being a total man-whore. No mixing business with pleasure. Innocent Julia combined with predator Brad= Corporate Catastrophe.
So I seriously went into this book expecting a very erotic, smut-filled storyline. Not really... I mean, don't get me wrong, there's hotness in the book but there's a great story that goes with it. Brad is such an endearingly sweet character and Julia tough as nails. It was refreshing.
So I started it anxiously thinking...
But really felt a bit more...eh, wanting? Horny?
I mean, seriously? BRAD. IS. DEVINE. Rich, arrogant, successful and VERY open about what he wants and that is SEX. Not love, no promises, no commitments. He readily admits to a secret "taste" he has. I taste he knows doesn't mesh with an innocent Julia. (And no it's no Red Room of Pain FSoG bullshit.) He wants her. Bad. But...
I seriously do not blame the woman for going from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds around him! Damn. She fights it. Yes she does but... Brad is a tough one to resist. Julia is no shrinking violet and is not only tough, but actually sometimes quite hurtful in her "disgust" for his lifestyle of debauchery. But resist him she can't. But does he take advantage of her weaknesses?
I'm not sure why it took me so long to read this series. I've loved all things A Torre. Her character development is what sucks me in. You feel as if you know them personally and are invested in their story....not just a fuckathon.
Is this a love story? Smut? Erotica? A bit of each. It's a gradual build. None of this insta-love, or weak heroine stuff. But still the irresistible arrogant man-whore that I pray will soon find himself on his knees....claiming the four letter word he swears he will never succumb to. Fingers crossed! Moving on! Cannot wait to get in his head with The Diary of Brad De Luca.
***Word has it, Ms Torre is revamping this book, adding about 100 pages and more heat. This was the original version dammit. More sex? It'd be 5+++ stars I'm sure but I'm not sure how it all plays out with their story.

Don't shoot!
I know a lot of you loved this book. And a lot of you loved De Luca. But I didn't..
In fact this book just hit one of my major pet peeves and that made me kinda mad.
Add to the fact that a law student from a middle class family, with student debt, has an insane amount of shoes and outfits from major brands, referenced her Inner Goddess(albeit only once), had a debate for her old self and new self, and that was enough for me not to like it much.
It started ok, I really liked the writing and the setting. Then they went to Vegas and it all went downhill from there. I could hear the mental ticker in my head going "That's -1 STAR!!" with every passing chapter.
Yes, the sex was hot and the writing entrancing but the characters for me were sort of unlikable. I just didn't connect with them and by the 80% mark I didn't care if they got together or not.
And I really wish someone had spoilered it for me (none of the reviews I read mentioned it) because if they had I wouldn't have bothered. It really hits my trigger/pet peeve whatever you want to call it. Also it was quite misleading as I thought his secret sexual preferences would be BDSM or something, based on a certain scene.
So this is for my friends that have similar triggers,if you don't like the main characters having sex with anyone else don't read this book.If you want to see to what extend that goes and if you can handle it read:
Will I read the next one? Maybe because I'm curious, but at least now I know what I'm getting.

50% in and I was ready to give up…. Was not feeling much for the characters. But persevered.

4.5 not so innocent after all STARS
My very first Alessandra Torre book and it was goooooooooood. Surprising, witty, naughty and all around immensely satisfying.
From the first page I was pleasantly surprised by the cheeky writing style. It just speaks to me and felt very natural to read...almost like being in my own head. I'm the queen of witty comments, if you didn't know that already. ;P
Let's start with a little cliché, shall we?
Twenty-one year old Julia is determined to focus on her pre-law studies and the brand new intern job she started at a swanky law firm, after ending an unsatisfying relationship and engagement. And yes, she catches the eye of the notorious Brad De Luca, a brilliant divorce attorney who has a reputation of screwing everyone who isn't on a tree by the count of three - interns, secretaries...clients, you name it he's done it.
Heard that one before?
Don't worry, this one is actually expertly executed and would you believe me when I say Blindfolded Innocence has a twist you won't see coming? Well, don't take my word for it, but I for one was really happy with the outcome.
Julia Campbell is no bumbling idiot. She is actually a rather interesting heroin. She is highly intelligent, determined, has a good work ethic and she is also very independent.
After being warned repeatedly about Mr. De Luca, Julia has no problem to stay away from him and ultimately deflect his advances. Most heroines fall head over heels at this point, but I do admire her strength...until she gives in. Which is to be expected...gotta get the plot rolling and to be honest a girl can only take so much until she has to find out for herself what is going on.
Brad De Luca has found his ultimate challenge. The feisty young intern is a complete mystery to him. No woman with a pulse has ever denied him or even called him out on his BS. And men are all the same in the end...tell them they can't have it and they work twice as hard to prove you wrong. No difference here.
Yes, he is as alpha male as they come. He is stunning...obviously. He is domineering as hell, rich, arrogant and he is one very naughty boy. *sigh* Just what a young man ought to be. ;P
But back to Julia and Brad. There is a short weekend trip to Vegas in their future and everything else you have to find out the usual way...GO READ THE DAMN BOOK!
I have to confess, it took me a while to get into this particular book, but only because I thought it was just another Lawyer/Intern story. The writing is just up my alley, the characters are not only well developed but also highly entertaining and they give good bickering.
Brad and Julia are very strong characters, with a lot of flaws and edges. In fact I highly recommend reading The Diary of Brad De Luca right after you finished this one. It's a short novella with Brad's POV and it gives you some insight into his headspace and why he acts certain ways and what his motives are.
I loved the way their relationship...if you want to call it that...evolves. It's not a straight forward 'we fall in love and live happily ever after'. Beside the point that this is only the first instalment in a trilogy, the plot or better yet their 'involvement with each other' takes a lot of twists and turns. Let's just say, Mr. De Luca has certain proclivities and you gotta think twice if you want to deal with that kind of ...stuff. ;D
And don't get me started on the ending...Oh boy!
Oh my! That book. That ending! I really enjoyed this one and I'm so anxious to find out where it all goes and what will happen and I sure as hell want more of the naughty. Damn girl...that was good.

5 Awesome Stars
I must say for certain that when I start an Alessandra Torre book, I am going to have one hot damn, incredibly sexy read!!
We start with Julia Campbell, a college intern at a law office. She's only 21 and well she's young, beautiful, sassy and a little full of herself but I have to say I loved her. There are rumors of all the partners and what they are like. She gets stuck with Mr. Work-a-holic but Julia is smart and driven and wants a good recommendation for law schools so she sucks it up.
There is one partner that she is warned to stay away from. He is charismatic, the resident divorce attorney, known for sleeping with his clients and interns. There is no way that Julia would get drawn into a manwhore like that. No way, no how! But she meets him, bringing a file to his side of the office, just to see for herself who is the infamous Brad DeLuca.
Looking into his eyes, I felt my knees buckle slightly. There was this draw to him, this indescribable pull that I couldn't break from. He emitted, even across the large office, a wave of power, intelligence ...and sexuality. No freaking wonder everyone talked about this man.
He had locked his ridiculously sexy stare on me and spoken softly, but with absolute confidence and conviction. I swallowed. I wanted this man so badly it hurt. Knowing I couldn't have him made it that much more delicious.
Julia, being young, is naïve but very confident herself. She will not allow this man to conquer her. She holds herself and so the chase begins. The one thing is that Brad DeLuca doesn't do is romance or commitments. He wants sex and when the friends with benefits runs dry, do does their "relationship". He is brutally honest about his feelings. He is always truthful to Julia and explains that he is who he is and nothing can change that. Julia believes that sex is an act for a committed relationship, once in love. She doesn't do casual sex and never has. Can Brad change her mind, can Julia see past her own convictions? Brad asks Julia to come to Las Vegas for the weekend. Just to get to know each other. She says no and no until her resolve falters. She tells him she is not sleeping with him. She has never been to Vegas before, what can be the harm?
Well, let me let you, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I can promise that it's everything you can imagine that happens in Vegas. Brad wines and dines her and as he is a high roller, so the Bellagio caters to his wishes. Julia is shown a great time as she is with him. They also do a "guys night". Julia wants to know and do what Brad would normally if he was with the guys. Well, that evening was pretty damn sexy, risqué and HOT. Some of Brad's sexual needs and desires are also unfolded.
He is such an enigma. Thoughtful and sweet at times, the perfect gentleman. Other times he was pure sexual temptation, able to soak my panties with a single look or touch. He was unapologetically honest about his love of women and sex, comfortable and unashamed of his conquests or lack of monogamy. I didn't know how to take it, didn't know what I wanted from him, other than the one overriding sexual desire that had been interfering with my common sense the moment we'd met.
They return from Vegas and their fun is over. They both go back to work and well 2 weeks pass and neither seeks the other out. But time and an another intern turn things around and well Julia seeks out Brad to let him have it. But they both have feelings for one another but Brad can't be the man Julia needs and wants. He has issues and needs someone who can deal with those issues. Can Julia be that woman or will it be her damnation? The one thing that she does know, is that she will try because this man has a hold on her and she owes it to herself to try.
If the night's experience was any indicator, this lifestyle, this arrangement, was something I could not only deal with, but could enjoy, could want, could need.

I must say for certain that when I start an Alessandra Torre book, I am going to have one hot damn, incredibly sexy read!!
We start with Julia Campbell, a college intern at a law office. She's only 21 and well she's young, beautiful, sassy and a little full of herself but I have to say I loved her. There are rumors of all the partners and what they are like. She gets stuck with Mr. Work-a-holic but Julia is smart and driven and wants a good recommendation for law schools so she sucks it up.
There is one partner that she is warned to stay away from. He is charismatic, the resident divorce attorney, known for sleeping with his clients and interns. There is no way that Julia would get drawn into a manwhore like that. No way, no how! But she meets him, bringing a file to his side of the office, just to see for herself who is the infamous Brad DeLuca.
Looking into his eyes, I felt my knees buckle slightly. There was this draw to him, this indescribable pull that I couldn't break from. He emitted, even across the large office, a wave of power, intelligence ...and sexuality. No freaking wonder everyone talked about this man.
He had locked his ridiculously sexy stare on me and spoken softly, but with absolute confidence and conviction. I swallowed. I wanted this man so badly it hurt. Knowing I couldn't have him made it that much more delicious.
Julia, being young, is naïve but very confident herself. She will not allow this man to conquer her. She holds herself and so the chase begins. The one thing is that Brad DeLuca doesn't do is romance or commitments. He wants sex and when the friends with benefits runs dry, do does their "relationship". He is brutally honest about his feelings. He is always truthful to Julia and explains that he is who he is and nothing can change that. Julia believes that sex is an act for a committed relationship, once in love. She doesn't do casual sex and never has. Can Brad change her mind, can Julia see past her own convictions? Brad asks Julia to come to Las Vegas for the weekend. Just to get to know each other. She says no and no until her resolve falters. She tells him she is not sleeping with him. She has never been to Vegas before, what can be the harm?
Well, let me let you, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I can promise that it's everything you can imagine that happens in Vegas. Brad wines and dines her and as he is a high roller, so the Bellagio caters to his wishes. Julia is shown a great time as she is with him. They also do a "guys night". Julia wants to know and do what Brad would normally if he was with the guys. Well, that evening was pretty damn sexy, risqué and HOT. Some of Brad's sexual needs and desires are also unfolded.
He is such an enigma. Thoughtful and sweet at times, the perfect gentleman. Other times he was pure sexual temptation, able to soak my panties with a single look or touch. He was unapologetically honest about his love of women and sex, comfortable and unashamed of his conquests or lack of monogamy. I didn't know how to take it, didn't know what I wanted from him, other than the one overriding sexual desire that had been interfering with my common sense the moment we'd met.
They return from Vegas and their fun is over. They both go back to work and well 2 weeks pass and neither seeks the other out. But time and an another intern turn things around and well Julia seeks out Brad to let him have it. But they both have feelings for one another but Brad can't be the man Julia needs and wants. He has issues and needs someone who can deal with those issues. Can Julia be that woman or will it be her damnation? The one thing that she does know, is that she will try because this man has a hold on her and she owes it to herself to try.
If the night's experience was any indicator, this lifestyle, this arrangement, was something I could not only deal with, but could enjoy, could want, could need.

Cover & Title - 4 out of 5

Favorite Characters - Julia
Okay so this is one of those books where i know people will be like "it is another 50SOG" it is not though. Here is why; no contract, no virginal vanilla lead female, no BDSM, no horrible childhoods & no anal plug/sex.
Yes the dude is rich, a bit controlling and into kinkiness but it is not Christian kink it is different kink which i will not go into as it has a huge revel in the book. She is not like Ana either.
I abso-fucking-lutely loved the beginning/opening, seriously it was such a fantastic hook for me. In actual fact i was totally loving the book until Vegas. Then something happened that left me like this..
But you know what they say, What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. So i was forced to take some deep breaths, stop fantasizing about killing Brad and move on.
I am glad i did because it did pick up again & thanks to the way both characters reacted I managed to forgive & forget.
I enjoyed the story & i liked the characters (for the most part). I felt the sexual tension & chemistry was really strong between the leads, I liked the build up & the sex scenes between them where HOT. There was a lot going on sex scene wise in the book with a small F/F scene, some M/F and a super sexy M/F/M scene.
I would recommend this book & I plan to read more in the series.

"How do we know we aren't the person we both are searching for?"
I was completely hooked the first 20 percent of this story. I was enjoying the idea of our young intern and the forbidden whore law firm partner. When Brad DeLuca talks Julia into going to Vegas with him and their interaction began I didn't feel any true connection. It took me to the end of the story to decide whether or not I liked it.
Julia is supposedly innocent but honestly she isn’t. Brad isn’t all that for me either. The manner in which the story is heading leaves me pretty indecisive about continuing.
I truly love this author’s work, but I just didn’t connect or like Julia or Brad at all. I found the story kinda ridiculous and I don’t think it was supposed to be.
P.S.- How does a girl from a middle class family with an unpaid internship afford a closet full of the world's most expensive shoes?

2.5 Out of my Comfort Zone Stars
Rule 1:She is kept blindfolded for the first meeting.If the blindfold is to be taken off,it must be done by her alone.
There are stories that you think you can breeze your way through.
There are stories that you feel connected to the characters.
There are stories that remind you of personal experiences.
And then there are stories like Blindfolded Innocence.
Law student Julia Campbell is interning in a law firm and everyone keeps warning to keep out of the way of divorce lawyer and notorious womanizer Brad de Luca. But everything seems to point his way... And the sex beast has innocent Julia in his sight.
Rule 2:She is mine and not yours.Remember that.
Rule 3:You may not know what will occur until you arrive.We reserve the right to change the events according to her desires.
Well, up until 50% I really liked Julia. She had a fresh voice, she was sassy, stylish and unwilling to take bullshit from anyone and then suddenly........
In an epic twist, she says screw you to all the warnings, she goes all wild on another girl and she begs Brad for a scrap of orgasm... Girl, we have all been misled by our ovaries but pleaaaaaaaaaaaase!
Brad on the other hand, was consistent and I could get his mindset and purpose. Hell, the guy was a manwhore and a millionaire lawyer so I could understand his hormonal outbursts and general male ego. And I certainly approved.
Rule 4:Her pleasure is the most important objective
Rule 6:Brad is always in control
Rule 5:No socializing or communication out of the experience
So about the lifestyle... The only thing I know is this show on TLC and I was really desperate with insomnia the one and only night I watched it. Maybe it seems something that can work for some couples. For me it doesn't. It doesn't speak of trust and commitment. So I couldn't connect and really get Julia and Brad's feelings and how they were setting the pace of their relationship. That said... HOLY FREAKING HELL, that last scene!!!
I usually skim through love triangles scenes because too many parts tend to confuse me (LOL! :P) but this one was well constructed and it made sense in the overall plot of the book. Great build up!
Rule 7:Once it is over, leave quickly. We will want to be alone.No goodbyes are necessary
Well now, of course I am curious. How is this going to work? How about their jobs? What do they feel?

Although Julia was warned on numerous occasions to stay away from Brad and even though she tries her best to do just that..These two eventually cross paths. That of course is when Brad sets out to accomplish what he does best, conquer Julia.

Brad is 40 years of age to Julia’s newly 21. He is described to be tall, over 6 feet with broad shoulders presenting a strong presence whenever he is around. He has experience, power and confidence all of which he emits in abundance. Brad does not have to do anything his character exudes these attributes naturally as if he was born to do so.
When he speaks you get a better idea of just how much experience he has. He is not a one woman kind of man and he makes that abundantly clear to any woman he involves himself with.
Julia is a bit more reserved in her way of thinking. She definitely believes in exclusivity when it comes to relationships. In fact she’s only had two sexual partners. Both times she was in love or at least thought she was. Then she meets Brad and her thoughts start to shift in those matters.
Brad not only ignites an unknown fire in Julia he also fuels her sexuality by showing her various ways to obtain pleasure. A pleasure she immensely enjoys **wiggles eyebrows**
My Final Thoughts
Alessandra Torre does not disappoint, I admit I am just a tad biased but her work speaks for itself. Out of my most of my friends I am late to this series, they all seem to love it and I have finally caught up! Torre has a wild writing hand she freely explores sex and the boundaries put on it by others. If I had to describe her writing in three words those words would Erotic – Engaging – Provocative Simply put, I love it! And every time I read one of her books I end up with a major book hangover!

I gave Blindfolded Innocence 4.5 stars because the story held my attention, the characters were rousing and the writing fit my taste buds.

5 Brad fucking De Luca Stars

Already warned to stay away from the law firm's star Divorce Attorney, Brad De Luca, Julia begins her long days and even longer nights wondering more and more about the man behind the double doors. He's also not the kind of man to give up control easily.

The sensuality of this story completely snuck up on me; I was craving for some relief about halfway through this story and once we get there, it just explodes. This book was not filled with sex scenes, but rather they were sprinkled in within the story; but this whole story was an erotic experience.

It's typically something in a story that is a complete turn off, but as the story continued I was able to put that normal reaction aside and see that it all fit into play with the story. I am not sure where this romance is going to end up, I just know that it is going to be one helluva rid. A utterly fantastic unconventional romance that is pure erotica and beautifully written.

I just finished reading another one of Alessandra Torre's books in which Brad DeLuca's character played a small role as a divorce attorney. Let me clarify, his role may have been small but his presence was massive. I had to keep reminding myself who the main character was. To avoid spoilers, I usually wait until after finishing a book to read reviews and that's when I realized there is a whole series dedicated to DeLuca. Needless to say, I jumped right on him...um, I mean the books. I jumped right on his books. Yeah.
Brad DeLuca is a bit lost in his life currently but he is simultaneously always in control if that makes sense. He loves women, or rather he loves passing the time with sex, and when young newbie intern Julia enters his line of sight, he goes in for the kill. But fresh-faced, pencil skirt Julia has a few surprises. She is a challenge if there ever was one. She doesn't just fall at his feet like most women seem to. But predictably, that just makes him chase her more. After all is said and done, Blindfolded Innocence offers dominant characters, clashing personalities, a forbidden office romance, plenty of erotic satisfaction, a bit of kink, and one hell of a Las Vegas scene. Those who have read this book will know exactly which scene I'm talking about. This was a great book that hit me when I was in the perfect mood for it. I one-clicked the rest of the series and I'm about to gobble them up like Thanksgiving dinner! Check it out!!

I admit, I bought this book for no other reason than the stare-at-me cover. It isn't a romance. Not in the traditional sense. If you aren't able to sympathize with the swinger lifestyle, if you hold tight to monogamous ideals, or if you consider yourself the jealous type, then you won't enjoy this book. To everyone else, don't pass this up. It's an intelligently-written sexy story with lots of law office drama. Even though Brad De LoveHimself is a self-absorbed, shallow prick with zero redeeming qualities, the female lead, Julia, more than makes up for his thoughtlessness. She's smart in the way she tackles problems and comes to decisions, and damn but I love her tolerance, her unapologetic curiosity, and her ability to recognize and forecast "boring". Without question, the sequel is an auto-buy.

This was a reread for me (my original review for this edition:
below). When I first read this book back in August 2012, I wasn't aware that it was going to have a sequel/be part of the series. When I was finished, I was kind of left scratching my head because the ending seemed too abrupt and definitely left me wanting more.
I also didn't care for Julia [at all!] first time around so, after having finished books 2 and 3 in the series and becoming a fan of hers, I wanted to reread this one and see WTF my problem was.
I enjoyed this story a lot more this time. I didn't have nearly as many issues with Julia as I did back then.
I think these were my main issues to begin with: according to the blurb [the original version], Brad was supposed to be 40 and Julia 21. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE older guys but [personally] I draw the line at 15 years. It was hard for me to grasp the concept why a [much] older, good looking, successful, basically a guy who can pretty much get anyone with zero effort involved would go after someone like Julia. Thrill of the chase?? I guess.
Anyways ... Now, after having learned that Brad is actually 34 and taking into account that Julia IS 21, I was able to cut her some slack and his characater no longer came across as a 'dirty old man'.
Once again, I applaud Alessandra for writing Brad's character. I like the fact that he is who he is and makes no apologies for it. I love his kink. I love that he wants Julia to be part of his world. I know many were bothered by the strip club scene. I am trying to get why but can't. I thought it was super sexy and very Brad-like. What can I say, I love all things that are considered taboo by our [mostly] uptight society.
And in case I haven't mentioned this already, I really enjoy Alessanra's writing style. Very much! There is a flow to it that makes you zoom through her books in no time at all. I call these type of books/stories 'unputdownable' ...
I am definitely upping my rating to 4, even 4.25 stars. The only reason this book didn't get 5 star rating is because I keep comparing it to books 2 and 3 in the series and those were absolutely, without a doubt 5 star reads for me. This one was great but the next two are SIZZLING!

I enjoyed Brad's character, however Julia came across as if she was 13 (although that's not really fair because there are many 13 year olds out there who act more mature than Julia did in this book).
One of those books that ended abruptly (back when I read this, I wasn't aware that the sequel was in the works but it definitely felt like there should be one) and had you wondering if your Kindle malfunctioned. It should have been either longer or made into a novella (this way many readers would have been spared a lot of juvenile crap that happened in this book).
I wish Brad was paired up with someone closer to his own age (or at least someone who acted like they were) because judging by some tidbits we learn about him/his past, this could have been a nice [adult] drama filled novel.
I will still read the sequel (?) & hoping we get more Brad and a lot less Julia.

Pardon my language but Holy Shit...Blindfolded Innocence is HOT!!!! This was my first book by Alessandra Torre and I absolutely LOVED it! I honestly didn’t know what to expect with Blindfolded Innocence but once I started reading I found myself devouring this book.
Twenty-One year old pre-law student Julia Campbell finds herself calling off her engagement and starting a law internship at the prestigious law firm, Clark, De Luca & Broward. Julia is assigned to Mr. Broward, who happens to be one the senior partners, who likes to work long hours. Mr. Broward immediately warns Julia to stay clear from Mr. Brad De Luca, another senior partner. Mr. De Luca has been infamously known to be a womanizer and one of the most successful divorce attorney.
After a failed marriage, Brad makes it known that he loves his single life and casual sex. He doesn’t do relationships. For him, its all about pleasure. This was a solid 4.5 star book--with the potential to be more based on where the sequel takes the story. This is definitely a classic case of "don't judge a book by it's cover". The cover does not do the book justice at all. The cover will rarely stop me from reading a book but it might others. The cover makes you think the book will be all about...well sex. But it's really not. It's so much more. I guess you could say that it has some Fifty Shades qualities. Julia is supposedly "innocent" yet she is very sexual. Brad isn't really dominant--but he likes to be in control. There is a distinct age gap. Brad is rich. That's about where the similarities end. There is no BDSM, thank goodness.....he enjoys a different sexual "activity". Overall I really enjoyed the book. I wasn't sure I was going to like Brad in the beginning but by the end of the book I really liked him and I was quite sad to see the story end! I am a little concerned about his "relationship" with Alexis and wonder if we will learn more about that in book 2. I will definitely be reading the sequel. Is it December yet??

After their brief encounter, Julia struggles to get this guy out of her mind, so when they meet up again.... Brad has a proposition for her.
Now this is where the fun starts...because in true Alessandra Torre form this story is so different.
My Thoughts
For me its all about Brad De Luca, he oozes sex appeal. He knows what he wants..
Julia comes across at the start as quite inexperienced but its not long until she is caught up in Brad De Luca's world...
As this was a re-read for me, I can honestly say I enjoyed it just as much as the first time around.
I'm so excited to see where Julia's and Brad's journey takes them into Masked Innocence and I have a feeling in Alessandra Torre style of writing nothing is quite as it seems...
