Serena Bloodworthy was born into a world where the Blessed gods give power to humans. Each person gets a power, until Serena is born. The day she was born changed everything for her, and her family. She is the most powerful person in history, but must hide what the blessed have given her. Everything is simple until the day, it is not. Two new handsome commanders bring news of the queen's untimely death to Darnish. Serena is picked to compete in a deadly trial for the Kings heart. The problem? She must travel with the very people from Darnish she has hidden from her entire life. No one outside of her family knows of her powers, because if they did? She would be killed or worse... used as a weapon for The King she loathes. They will travel through deadly rivers and ice cold mountains to arrive at the palace, where things aren't as they seem. Along the way, Serena discovers things about herself, her powers and her bloodline while falling helplessly in love with men she shouldn't. During this difficult journey Serena must make choices that will alter who she is down to the very marrow of her bones.
I loved bloodworthy from start to finish! So many different twists and turns made me distrust EVERYONE throughout the book! I absolutely loved the world building and magical abilities! The characters are absolutely fantastic! I loved the storytelling with the history of the world! I loved that Serena is a badass mfc!
ok, so I love this book so much. I have read it twice since it was released. It has everything a reader could want in a world of a magical kingdom with a twist on every page. Serena Bloodworthy is my favorite FMC this year. It is a must-read. Abby Moore is such a talented writer.
This book had me hooked from the description alone. It reminded me a lot of throne of glass (which is never a bad thing.) The author herself is also the most fun energetic person that you will ever meet which is also very cool and makes reading a book like this that much more incredible!
My first read by Abby Moore. And I absolutely loved it. I quickly fell in love with the main characters. Serena is amazing. The story is amazing and keeps you glued to the book. I'm really looking forward to the next in the series!
I have not finished this yet but I could not wait to review this so here it goes! AND YES I WILL BE FINISHING IT! I am officially half way through the book and I am obsessed I just hit a really good part that I can’t wait to see what happens! But I’m just going to say this now Abby knows what we wanna read! There’s a few little spice parts 😉, secrets 🤫, and action 🥷
Really interesting story and main character. Serena is a bad bitch. She must go to the palace and compete for to wed the king. She feels an instant connection to two commanders escorting her to the palace, Wolf and Sailor. Serena’s stay at the palace is WILD and I’m curious to see what happens in book 2.
Easily a 5 star for me I was hooked the whole time, the twists and turns, the character building, the relationships, the trials all of it made this book amazing bc. I can’t wait for the second one
Blood Worthy by Abby Moore completely swept me away. I loved this story so much. The storytelling itself was addictive, and while the flow and formatting were a little confusing at times, it honestly didn’t take away from the experience at all. Not even a little. For a debut novel, this book was genuinely beautiful and impressive in a way that makes you stop and go… wait, this is her first?!
Abby Moore is such a girl boss when it comes to her writing — releasing four+ books in a year while still delivering rich worlds and compelling characters is no small feat. And Blood Worthy proves she absolutely knows what she’s doing.
This book was such a fun and refreshing take on familiar tropes: games, trials, love triangles, fae politics — all wrapped inside her own immersive universe that feels both exciting and dangerous. Every character was uniquely compelling, and I genuinely found myself unsure who I was rooting for half the time… in the best way. No clear answers, no easy choices, just constant tension and emotional pull.
From start to finish, Abby kept me guessing. The slow build, the unfurling secrets, the simmering connections — everything was paced in a way that made the payoff hit even harder. And that plot twist at the end? Mind. Blowing. I had to sit there for a second and process because I truly did not see it coming.
If you love an exciting fae universe, a slow-burn that steadily tightens its grip, hidden truths, dangerous trials, and an abundance of absolutely yummy men, please do yourself a favor and pick up Blood Worthy, book one in Abby Moore’s Blood of the Fae series.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have very important plans to dive headfirst into book two, Bloodlust 🖤📖✨
The way I immediately had to go and start reading the 2nd book after that last chapter! I am currently forcing myself to stop reading the second book, so I can make this review for the first book! 😅 Serena is the FMC and she's known as the "town outcast". She's forced from her home in the woods to compete in this competition to win the kings heart and become the next queen. EXCEPT, she doesn't want to be queen! She just wants to live in the woods with her family and be left ALONE! As the FMC goes through her trials of the competition, she uncovers dark hidden secrets and almost loses in herself in the process. But she has a strong sense of justice and the love she has for her family, that holds her to her sanity. I have a feeling that the next book is going to be even crazier, but in the best ways ✨🔥 I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves reading fantasy realms, supernatural powers, fae, politics, romance and finding your inner strength. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I LOVED this book. It was my first book I read from Abby and it was fantastic. Serena is a strong FMC and the 3 MMCs we meet throughout the book all have different pros and cons. The unique trials and magic system were a cherry on top!
This book is an amazing book, it kept me entertained throughout. It has tropes I loved and genuinely enjoyed reading this book. The main female character is strong and has character development. The dynamic between the commanders and Serena was kept me in my toes.
This was my first romantacy ever and I loved it! It kept me on my toes the entire time and was so detailed it was like watching a movie in my brain! The plot twists are impeccable and left my jaw on the floor a couple times! There were a couple spicy scenes that had me needing to cool down for a minute too! This book was so well written and I cannot recommend it enough! I loved this book and cant wait to read the next!
The stylistic choices in the writing took some getting used to initially, and there were a few misspellings/typos but overall, 10/10 for vibes. I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did but I’m very glad I picked it up. The FMC is simultaneously hilarious and badass and feels suspiciously relatable to an adhd girlie like me. Can’t wait for bloodlust. I need to know what happens next.
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE this book! Serena is such a fun character to follow if you are looking for a book with a twist on the magic building this is the one for you! Serena was born with all powers which is unheard of in her world. She is kept in secret to keep herself safe but when the king host a trial to find his next wife and Serena is one of the chosen girls to go things all change. There are love triangles, plot twist, and growth.

- First off , SERENA BLOODWORTHY IS THAT GIRL. The character development in this book, is absolutely amazing. Watching Serena go from the introverted girl, to the girl who literally carried the world on her shoulders… absolutely amazing. I loved that Serena handled everything with such grace despite how disgusting people treated her. You could tell she deeply cared for everyone and never wanted ANYONE to get hurt. I want to be Serena.
-Secondly, the trials in this book?? Amazing. I wished there were more. I think it showed great character development for Serena but also showed the evilness of the palace and Magnolia. (Which ew, worst character ever, I HATE HER and her ulterior motives.)
The romance and spice in this book was depicted so so well. Sailor James… you are THE MAN. The love triangle was already won… Wolf never stood a chance.
But that ending?? I need more more more. Immediately… I need to know Serena’s plans…
Anyways 10/10 must read… can’t write too much more or else I’ll spoil the book.
Absolutely LOVED this book!!! The plot is amazing and oh my goodness the ending just makes you NEED more!!! There are so many emotions, growth and trails in this amazing story!!!
Abby is a gifted writer with an amazing imagination! Can’t wait to read more of her work!!!!
Ok let's talk about the fmc first. Serena. She's a feisty thing. You can tell right away she doesn't quite fit into any mold that anyone tries to pour her into. She's a rebel by just being herself. There are very few things she cares about besides family. She would burn the world for them. There is a fierceness to her that is so relatable in my soul. Then we got two MMCs, Wolf and SJ. Sj is now my favorite and will be forever. I wanted to love Wolf too. Then we are introduced to another MMC Aldrich and, well, I have nothing nice to say. I loved this book. Cannot wait to start the next one. If romantasy is your jam please read this.
Incredible book! Full of lots of action and twists/ turns! I absolutely loved reading. Serena truly is incredible. I am so excited for the upcoming release. If you want fantasy with some spice and action this book is for you! Not to mention Abby (author) is also an incredible human!!
I absolutely LOVED this book!! I cannot express how well written and thought out this book is. Abby is an amazing writer and this book proves that above all else, I truly suggest giving this book a read no matter what sub genre of romance you usually reach for. This was an astonishing read that had me captivated the entire time, the plot was spectacular and the emotional depth of the characters in this book are soooo amazing. If you’re thinking about reading this book definitely give it a run and support this smaller author!
