Wolfegang #3

When Elements Collide

Rate this book
Some things that are lost aren't meant to be found…

We hope to find the coordinates to Asgard where I will find my brother, on a planet at the edge of space that has ties to the ancient Norse culture. Celeste, Ricky, Wolfe, and I have to overcome the native’s dislike for outsiders; their distrust and suspicion well-founded as they are one of the last societies free from the Federation.

To get these coordinates my crew and I have to brave the harsh environment of the Northern Continent which is covered in ice and snow year-round. The location of Asgard isn’t the only thing waiting for us in this icy wilderness. The locals speak of monsters that hide in the dark recesses of their land, guarding something no one is brave enough to find. Will we survive long enough to acquire what we came for?

Jillian Ashe starts off this book with a BANG, and it blew me away. When Elements Collide is my favorite book in the series, so far. I know I say that about all of her books, but they just keep getting better. When the gang lands on Reidgotaland, it feels like the whole theme for the series is freshened up. I think that the Norse Mythology was a great touch, It made their adventure more exciting in my opinion. I’m hoping the new characters in this book will stay around for a while. When I say characters, I mostly mean Tiberius. I am emotionally attached to this fictional baby kitty! Tiberius is the cutest and most vicious baby kitty ever, and I love him. (sue me)

This book focuses more on Kat and Celeste’s relationship. I feel that Celeste became a character in this book. She isn’t just the short-tempered roommate anymore, she is a woman with feelings and weaknesses. I literally laughed out loud when her fear was discovered. Heck, a lot of their interactions had me laughing. I think that they have a weird sisterly bond that is coming out, and I am really excited to see where Jillian is taking their relationship.

This novel is ACTION PACKED! I believe that is another reason I loved this book so much. It was like watching your favorite sci-fi TV show. The gun/knife fights were very exciting. Kat was really using her new DNA to her advantage. After coming near death a few times, a new character notices that Kat can heal extremely fast. Kat is faced with the reality that she can’t keep her enhancements a secret from the rest of the crew forever. I think this was a huge step for the rest of the novels. They’re becoming more of a family rather than co-workers. In the end, I feel like the book came to a great conclusion, while setting up perfectly for the next in the series. I CANNOT wait for her next book. 5/5

I received a copy of this book from Xpresso Book Tours in return for an honest review.
I liked this book even more than the first two books. When Elements Collide takes place on a planet based on Norse Mythology and culture, so there is a big fantasy element introduced i.e. there is a king, a prince and princess, a castle and some seriously nasty monsters. Kat finds out more about her abilities and powers and the character of Celeste becomes much more developed. I love Tiberius and hope he stays in the series (although I felt very bad about how Kat acquired him). When Elements Collide was a great non-stop read.

Wow, well done Jillian ! (Kindle Unlimited).

Rapid pacing! Main character angst. 😢 I actually liked all the main characters! Great depth. Fantastic action. I'm Only a Little Frustrated it's taking soooo long to find her brother, but it IS a great trip!
I'm retired and read 2-3 books a week, but this series is going on my 'read again' list.
Very minimal cussing and so far no sex. (for the self-righteous).

I was captivated from the first page. I feel in love with the characters and the whole idea of the plot. It keeps you on your toes and at the edge of your seat. The amount of adventure and mystery in this book is so large that the main character might not be be big enough. This was very well written that I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Mythology a collection of myths, especially one belonging to a particular religious or cultural tradition. Or it can also mean the study of myths. The way I see it myths had to come from somewhere right? The theories that are in myths must be based on something someone once saw or heard. Same thing with all types of religion. What if the mythologies are really a part of history, not our history but the history of the planets outside our galaxy.

In this science fiction series, Jillian Ashe hints that the myths come from somewhere. The fourth installment moves from the science fiction we have been reading into mythology. To be more specific Norse mythology. (I know you are thinking of the Thor movie, now right?) This book is nothing like that movie, the author has her own twist to this story on how it all works. It might be hard to follow for those that know nothing about Norse mythology, but I believe that Ashe does a great job of describing the whole thing. So you know what is going on, but if you have more of an understanding of this mythology you will have no problem getting lost in this book. Just like I did.

This book had me biting my nails. It was full of action, plus we got to meet new characters (and I may be in love with one of them... Shh... It's a secret). Again I had no clue what was going to happen next, but the mix of science fiction and mythology genre's flowed together flawlessly. Frankly, I was impressed Jillian pulled it off, not many authors can mix genres together and have a really good book.

This series is the kind you would get hardbacks/paperbacks for your personal home library. I hope you guys are enjoying this series as much as I am. Btw, does anyone else think the cover to these books rock?

Another fantastic book by this author. I still love all the characters. And the new characters are great as well. When Katerina is able to figure out where the map may take the crew, the fun and adventure start.
Katerina is still trying to hide that she isn't as normal as everyone thinks.
The only person who still knows is Ricky. But when the crew find themselves on another planet and scary animals and monsters lurk, will Katerina be able to hide her new abilities from everyone?
Will she be closer to finding her twin brother? I think in this one Katerina learns more about herself and Wolfe and knowing she can finally trust others with her life. She also finds she has a second home if she wants to ever come back.

Lots of action and adventure

With Wolfe old map that will bring him to a treasure and the bread crumbs for Katerina to find her twin brother Kris, then end up on a planet with deep roots to the old Norse origins. One of Kris encrypted messages to Katerina say that what the Captian seeks withholding also be where she can find a special reader for the crystal her left for her , with a message for her from him. But danger lurks and secrets are discovered. This is an awesome addition to the series with a HFN ending. Well written and very entertaining to read.

The characters continue to evolve and become more and more interesting as the series goes on, but what's even more important on this book is that the universe the characters live on begins to take shape, the past is brought into the future in a marvelous and entrancing way.
