Catholic Doctrine in Scripture: A Guide to the Verses That Are Key to Affirming the Faith

Rate this book
A Compendium of Scripture verses, topically arranged and easy to use, which illustrate the scriptural affirmation of Catholic teachings-particularly those that Catholics and Protestants traditionally dispute. This book provides the actual biblical texts supporting 55 key topics including apostolic successon, intercessory prayer, indulgences, the Holy Eucharist, confession and many more. While the Catholic Church has never held to the doctrine that the Bible ought to be our sole authority of faith, anyone who does hold to that belief will have difficulty denying the Church's teachings, since the Bible testifies to them so compellingly. This book is intended to help Bible-loving Catholics-and Protestants discover how, and where.

This is one of the first books I found when I wanted to learn apologetics years ago and it's by far the best reference book I have! I don't think it's published anymore, which is a shame. Very thorough.

Moderately helpful, unnecessarily polemical.
