I was starting to fall in love with Aidan with the way that he pampered Meg - that is until it was revealed that he felt that the ends justified the means. Turns out he was being blackmailed by his uncle to get married by a certain date or he could kiss the bakery goodbye.

Meg and Aidan were an item in high school until an unfortunate prank ended things. She moved away to go to school and work. Now she's returned home to reopen the local library. But when it turns out Aidan lives across the street, will she give him a second chance?

Loved the humor and steam in this book. And the author did have some surprises along the way - after all, things aren't always what they appear to be on the surface. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

He was an idiot and she wasn’t ready.

In high school, Meg and Aidan were on Love but she wasn’t ready to have sex and was leaving for college. She believed that Aidan slept with three of her best friends and three other girls after she said no.

Now, years later, she’s finally back.

Aidan was insecure and in an idiotic attempt to make her jealous, lost her for years.

Now that his Meggie is back, he comes with chocolate croissants and peach pie and pizza. My kind of guy.
Can he win the girl?
Cuz he’s only got twenty one days to win.

Meg left her small town years ago after having her heart broken by Aiden but now she's back and as luck would have it Aiden lives next door with his underwear stealing dog. Aiden is a baker at his uncle's bakery and the bakery will be his if he gets married before he turns thirty four and he hopes he can make Meg see that they belong together and wants to make amends for trying to make her jealous all those years ago and he can only hope she doesn't find out about his uncle's condition for handing over the bakery to him.

Aiden and Meg we're High school sweethearts but Meg got away she was the love of Aidens life and he let her walk away but now with family dynamics changing Meg has to return to her hometown to run the library this is a romantic comedy / second chance romance. But will Aiden be able to convince Meg that he still truly loves her after she finds out about his uncles blackmail scheme and the real reason he wants to marry her or is the real reason that he loves her. Meg was already on the ropes about rekindling their romance but now she has to deal with Aidens deception

I’m going to be in the minority here. I can’t give this one more than 3 stars. Truly? It’s closer to 2.5 and I’m being generous. Everything in this one revolves around the physical relationship between Aidan and Meg, or so it seems. They were an item in high school. It’s fifteen years later and they act pretty much as they did in high school. Granted, there was a huge misunderstanding (which was actually intentional, just not the result) and now they’re trying to discover what life would be like if the past hadn’t happened. This is a super quick read with not really a lot of substance. I just can’t, in good conscience, give it more than 2-stars. Sorry!

It was a yummy book and sweet and warm as pie. True love will always outlast bad choices. Aiden and Meg belonged together unfortunately it took them 15 years of stubbornness for them to get it together. Uncle Harold was a cute ness but his heart was in the right place. This is the second book that I have read by this author, egging her on was the first I liked just desserts better. I will be reading more books from this author.

This is the 1st book I've read written Mellanie Szereto; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

A man that bakes? My kind of guy although Aidan lost some brownie points with what he did back then to make Meg jealous.
A second chance at love may be on the oven but can a blackmail scheme orchestrated by his uncle tear them apart again?

Watching the evolution of the relationship between these two was a treat.
This steamy romance is a roller coaster ride that will make you laugh, make you hot, and even make you shed a few tears. This is a book about true love, making mistakes and fighting for what you want.

High school sweethearts are reunited in this predictable story. Honestly, they acted like they were still in high school. I found the story to be insipid with the author throwing in sex scene after sex scene to blind the reader from the lack of plot and a big blow up that anyone could see coming from a mile away. This one was a huge disappointment.

YA version of love

There are so many things wrong with this story, I'm not sure where to start. First, it reads like a YA idea of "love".

Spoiler alert:

High school sweethearts, he loves her so much he wants to have sex, and when she doesn't, he breaks up with her and decides to sleep with someone else to get revenge. What great love, right? Then her "best" friends conspire to drive them back together by pretending to sleep with him to make her jealous. With friends like this, who needs enemies? She leaves town for college and never comes back for 15 years. Her school doesn't have semester breaks or holidays? He nor her friends have had any contact. Apparently there were no phones, no mail, no planes, trains or automobiles, either. Then, once she comes back, they've been apart for 15 years, but as soon as they see each other again, he's all over her, explaining what happened and suddenly they're deep in love and getting married. I don't know a single person who is exactly the same and has the same feelings in their 30's as in their teens, and if they do, shame on them. Then there's the whole "twist" about the bakery. Our hero loses the supposed love of his life for 15 years over a lie and misunderstanding, but he fails to mention this little tidbit to her. In my opinion, she should have run far and wide from the whole scheming, lying, manipulative town.

The first book in the Love on the Menu...Extra Hot series had me smiling as I read this well-written story. Meg Graham returns to her hometown after being away for fifteen years. I had to laugh with him and the Chihuahua when he finds the bra the dog stole. This is a second chance story. Uncle Harold was something with all his plotting. Just Desserts is quite delicious. A story of two people coming back together after a long-ago mis-understanding. Great build to the HEA. I left the story with a new appreciation for the various uses of licorice and a hankering for some pie. Yummy love story and perfectly crispy sex scenes! Enjoy today!
