4.5 stars . Warning: *May contain spoilers!*

After Charlotte Brook's divorce from a cheating jerk husband, she gets a new job in a new town and starts over in more ways than one. She meets her client Ian Galloway who expresses an interest in her. Though she's not entirely sure it's her talent that landed her company the account, her demeanor changes when she meets a strong, sexually confident woman on a business trip. Charlotte (Charlie) is determined to become the one IN charge, not on the receiving end.To her surprise, Ian is accommodating to her dominance.

This book was a different type of romance. Rather than the male being the Dominant in a relationship this story portrays the woman in control. This is not something that we find very often in erotica/BDSM story lines. It's always the strong, rich, powerful alpha male and the weak, submissive, naive, (and often virginal) young female(Yawn!) b/c we still live in a world with double standards when it comes to women's sexuality and how it defines them. Finally, a Dominant woman! Nice to have a change of pace.

Both characters did go back and forth a couple of times during the story and both characters did waver, but for the most part Charlie remained in charge. Granted, this was new to both of them, (and both admitted it) so it made sense. There were parts when Charlie was a dominant in the bedroom and out of it, then others where she seemed to shrivel into a more submissive role and let Ian control the situation. There was one part where Charlie was upset at a big event and drank quite a bit, and Ian became dominant. I have a big problem with this, b/c it seemed to be that, though she liked it, consent when drunk is dubious at best. The same thing happened after the limo and in his house. Now I get switching from time to time. There's nothing wrong with that. HOWEVER, as I said, she had been drinking and didn't even bring that up later. (note: this is the only thing that brought it to a 4.5 instead of a full 5 stars).

Now I get drama in a book, but the way that Ian portrayed things when explaining the truth is very "guy-like" aka "bare minimum". Until finally Charlie had enough b.s.that is. I felt like he was leaving things out, and if I were Charlie I'd have been much more vocal about it. When a man says "it's no one you need to worry about" in regards to not telling you who another woman is and follows it up with "trust me" it's a big RED FLAG. There is no way I'd have said OK and followed it up with sex. I feel like their were some questions that never received a full answer. Actually, I'd not have given in to breaking rules and going away with him for the weekend, either.

However, both characters admit their feelings although for once it's the man chasing the woman instead of the woman falling in love first.
What I loved: Like I said, I LOVE that there's a powerful, alpha male that is submissive and OK with admitting it, even if it's tough to do at first. Of course it is, b/c our society teaches that only men can be dominant and it's time that sexism stopped. It's SO sexy when rich/powerful men are submissive, b/c it takes so much for a man to do that in our culture. The end was the sexiest part, b/c Ian totally submitted to her (I didn't like the WAY he said it, but I got that he was trying to say he'd never give up).

Even though she didn't keep it strictly sexual, Charlie found new confidence in her sexuality and stayed the dominant. Kudos for not turning the strong, confident, dominant woman into the opposite like I see in most books. I really liked that Charlie stays in control in the bedroom. I only hoped that the book was a bit longer.

Honestly speaking, I like the men dominating. Or even when they weren't in power they still give off that in control kind of feeling. *_*

But in this book, roles were switched and even though I struggled with it, I still enjoyed it. I couldn't get the thought of someone as rich, sexy and powerful like Ian being submissive. It's fucking hot and I rather enjoyed that bit. ;)

On a side note, at the start I seriously struggled with connecting to the characters, especially Charlie which got me easily distracted from the book but I kept coming back for Ian xD. Charlie was a good character but her hot and cold personality annoyed me often. I found myself rolling my eyes at her antics (and what I saw as childish at times) and then Ian pissed me off for not spanking her lol. I could tell he really loved her, but I felt sorry for him sometimes because those feelings made him look like a stupid puppy. But hey, kudos to Charlie for snagging him as hers.

The interactions of the characters were good and I love the touch of forbidden-like feeling due to their working relationship. I was happy to see Charlie's happy ending and the fact that she was such a push over in the past to the person she became. I couldn't ask for a better ending.

I loved the sex scenes ahah. They were pretty hot... Also love when Ian took control. *wipes drool*. He's amazing and not just sexy or dominant - they way he's so dedicated and responsible really made me wanna hug him... or do more - who knows lmao. The point is - for someone in his position to bare it all like that or to give so freely - he's truly wonderful and those simple stuff is what made him a permanent resident in my heart ^_^

Ella Vaughn's writing/plot was a first for me. I both love and hated the MC while irked at the role switch yet intrigued by it all the same.

This was my first read since forever (and the ending of finals) so it was a good crack in the ice to bring me back :D

This book was crazy good!! I was sucked in and couldn't put it down! I loved Charlie, she was starting over, take no crap kind of girl. When she runs into Ian Galloway, literally, all her thoughts of she doesn't need a man in her life go right out the window. Ian Galloway is an absolutely hot as hell man and as soon as Charlie runs into him he's a goner. I loved how Elle has such a strong woman, l love reading about headstrong ladies! Ian isn't what I thought he'd be at all, he's such a real person, not too egotistical and let's Charlie run the show. After much deliberation the story turns HOT, and Charlie goes with her lady parts, lol. She meets someone along the way and tried to heed her advice but she is led astray by the gorgeous Ian Galloway. I really enjoyed the build up of this story and loved how Charlie made Ian work for her. This story was very well written and is a great love story to read! Great job Elle! I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!

Elle Vaughn is new to my list of must-read authors. Her writing style is cool and takes me to another place. That's what I look for in a good book. I want to live in their world and be a part of their lives as much as it's possible reading a book. Her characters are thought-out, and I found myself empathizing with them, drawing me into their story, even though I wanted to yank Charlie's hair out at times! But that's what I love! Feeling those emotions is the best thing when lost in a great book. I wanted more of Ian and to find out about his brothers. I can't wait to start the next book in the series. Great job, Elle!

Woman in charge!!!

If you want s sex filled read where the woman takes charge then this is the book for you.
I enjoyed it however I got a little lost with Ian becoming weak. I guess it's just not my thing.
However I liked the story and where it went.
I liked how strong Charlie became, even though at times I hated her, that's what made me like her, how she took charge of who she was becoming. Ian is Hot and the sex was Hot Hot.

If Ian wants Charlie, he’s going to have to relinquish the control he’s used to and submit to her every demand – and desire.

The Review:

This book was a different type of read for me. Rather than the male being the Dominant in a relationship, this story portrays the woman in control. This is not something that we find very often in erotica/BDSM story lines. I think that this story was an interesting read, and certainly provided us with something we've not read before. A lot of the stories that I have read that fall into this category feature a rich, male executive type who is dominant over a shy, middle class worker. While this story certainly sells, it is nice to have a change of pace. This story definitely pushed some boundaries, because we still live in a world with double standards when it comes to women's sexuality and how it defines their reputations.

This is a story of two people who meet through a work connection. Charlie is new to the area after a heartbreaking divorce that leaves her a shell of her former self. Obtaining a job with a major firm, she is determined to prove her worth to her boss, and is eager to land the biggest client of her career: Galloway & Associates. Instantly attracted to Ian, she fights her desires to get involved with him, though he tries hard to win her affections. It isn't until she encounters a woman in a bar during a work convention that she starts to get a new perspective on life and her own sexuality.

Returning to her life with this new-found sense of freedom, Charlie decides to take matters into her own hands. Boy, does she ever. Rather than be the pursued, Charlie turns the tables on Ian and makes him her play thing. She is determined to enjoy a strictly sexual relationship with him, so as to avoid feelings and the messy complications that entails. After all, he is still her client and she is breaking all the rules to be with him.

If you are looking for a steamy read, and one that may just entail some of your own fantasies, look no further. This book has some hot scenes. Bondage? Check. Pleasure and Pain? Check. Uncontrollable passion? Check. It is certainly a panty melting story with a woman who has a take charge attitude in the bedroom, and isn't afraid to take what she wants when she wants it. If only we were all so lucky to have an attractive man at our beck and call. One who can get you hot with just one look.

In terms of story, as I said before, this was something new to me. While I have read a few stories where the woman was Dominant, the work environment was a change of pace and provided a new twist on a popular story line. I did enjoy this book, but there were parts that I felt disconnected to it. I found it difficult to believe the dominant and submissive personas with the two characters when they went back and forth during the story. Granted, this is new to both of them, but it made it a tougher sell for me. There were parts when Charlie was a dominant in the bedroom and out of it, then others where she seemed to shrivel into a more submissive role and let Ian control the situation. The same holds true with Ian.

There were also several "secrets" that were being withheld from Charlie, which made her question the relationship with Ian, especially when she started to develop feelings for him. I wasn't necessarily surprised by some of the secrets, but there were parts to that secret that did surprise me, which I liked. I don't want to get too in-depth here as I hate spoilers; however, I didn't care for the way that Ian portrayed things when revealing the truth. I felt like he was leaving things out, and as this is part of a series of what I assume are interconnected standalones, I feel like their were some questions that never received a full answer. Maybe this is something that will be addressed later on, and I will be interested to see how that comes about.

Overall, this is a solid read for me. I definitely enjoyed the steamy scenes, but wished for a little less back and forth from the characters the rest of the time. I do recommend this book, as I feel many people will enjoy this. As I mentioned this is book one in a series, so I'm sure this is not the last that we will see of Charlie and Ian.

Interesting story. I liked the role reversal with Charlie being the Alpha. I did like the insta love aspect on Ian’s part. They had lots of chemistry.

Charlie’s dad and friends were awesome. Charlie needed to to push her to Ian. I was not expecting the twist with his brother. Ian was a little too loyal. Wish I got to see more of Ian’s hella cool parents more.

It did take me a minute to get used to the writing style. Written in Charlie’s POV.

Office romance.

Love this story and the happy ending!

The Femdom story line wasn’t hardcore which I liked. Really enjoyed reading this story with twists and turns. Can’t wait for more.

Down and dishearten after her divorce Charlotte “Charlie” Brooks relocates to Portland for a new lease on life. Not only does she find success with a new job but she also catches the attention of a new man in her life. The only problem—he’s one of her clients, Ian Galloway. It’s all too much, too fast for Charlie until she decides to take a different approach to the relationship—ensuring that she’s the one in control— to avoid heartache again. So she sets her mind to a no-strings attached, hot, sexual fling.

The initial premise is what drew me in. Girl gets the upper hand and calls the shots on a dashing but dominant man. I envisioned a fun and strong female who turned a cocky or alpha-male’s world around. But that’s not quite what I found.

First, I wasn’t completely sold on Charlie’s turnaround from meek and hurt to distant and sexually demanding all on the advice of a stranger in a bar. And boy does Charlie embrace the whole “I’m in control” role. At times it felt like she was barking orders at a dog during scenes that should have been hot and sexy. There’s plenty of sex, but Charlie’s demanding persona rather killed the chemistry for me. Perhaps if Ian had been more of a man needing tamed, it might have made Charlie easier to root for. But Ian was a pretty decent guy, and while president of a large company and obviously in control in the business world, he isn't over-the-top domineering at all, nor is he arrogant or in need of a role reversal.

Second, Charlie is a bit wishy-washy about the whole relationship. She’s wants to make Ian submissive and keep things purely sexual with no feelings involved, but then she puts expectations on him that just don’t go with a “booty call” liaison, which is really what she claimed to want. Ian has a few secrets and while in a normal relationship they needed to be disclosed up front, the games Charlie played didn’t really make me sympathetic to her when Ian wasn’t forthcoming.

Overall, if you’re looking for a “How Charlie Got Her Groove Back” type of story, then this is one to definitely pick up. However, if you enjoy the alpha male appeal in your book boyfriends, you won't necessarily find it here as this is about the girl taking charge of a pretty accommodating guy.

Love Ian not so hot on Charlie. Why? I don’t like the attitude. Understand some of it but seriously you don’t need to treat Ian that way. He is a great great guy! Ian who has a secret but one paved in good intentions and who falls in love with Charlie and actually agrees to be her plaything in hopes that she will fall in love with him. Ian who tries so hard to be what Charlie wants. That is who really made this story pop and sizzle. My issue with Charlie is that she acts like all men will be like her ex-husband. She groups them before getting to know them. She did this with Ian to justify what she was doing. And than after he admitted he loved her she got really upset when he told her to go when she told him this isn’t what their arrangement was about. That they needed to end it. Hello!!!! What did you expect him to do after he confessed his love throw a ticker tape parade because you didn’t want to admit your feelings, compartmentalized him into a category of a filthy rich player and than told him he broke your arrangement because you only wanted a plaything and said we need to stop?!! Of course he would tell you to go. You hurt him badly. But than when you got indignant about Elizabeth and justified everything through her and ASSUMED the worst that was just over the top girl. But when he asked for trust and you couldn’t that just sent me to your meh meh pile of feeling for you. In the end I was glad for Ian but he could do better. The story will keep you entranced and Ian will have you wanting more of him and his mysterious brothers. You will fall in love with Ian. I look forward to the next in the series and hope Ian’s brother Graham will get taught a lesson very soon. What he did to Elizabeth was all kinds of wrong. A wonderful story with some super toasty love scenes of the love story of Ian and Charlie

I absolutely loved this book, it was extremely hot with strong characters and an intriguing storyline. The story flowed really well, it was fast moving and had me gripped from the first page. This is the first book in the Galloway Brothers series, and I would definitely read the other books in the series as I loved this one. From the glimpses we got of Ian's brothers in this book I can say that they are hot, hot, hot and are interesting characters, so I will be looking out for their books.

Charlie has gone through a rough divorce, has moved to a new city and has a great new job. But she is determined to have nothing to do with men - until she meets her powerful new client Ian Galloway. He wants Charlie but she will only have a relationship on her terms and Ian is going to have to give up control.

Ian is a dominant alpha male type character, but he willingly gives up control to Charlie. I love this twist to the usual BDSM storyline - it's so refreshing to have the alpha male in the submissive role. That's not to say that he didn't take the reins at times! The bedroom scenes were so hot, the BDSM elements were quite light and so well done. The dynamics between Charlie and Ian were fantastic, there was real chemistry between them. Tied Up is a brilliant book, I loved it and definitely give it five stars.

Tied Up is the first book I have read by Elle Vaughn, and may I add, it won't be the last. I LOVED this book.

Charlie has gotten a new job, in a new city, after a very painful divorce. Her cheating husband has left her with nothing so she starts over again. Ian Galloway, one of the rich and powerful men who runs Galloway Tech, is her new client. A chance running into each other, literally, has set the sparks flying off the pages. Charlie knows getting involved with Ian, could jeopardize her job, but she can't seem to help herself, so she decides to do it on her own terms.

I'm not going to lie, when Charlie sets the rule of no strings attached, I cheered, as men have been doing that for ages. Elle Vaughn's writing style is easy to read and very HOT! I loved how invested I was from the beginning as the story evolved and Elle had me from the very first page to the last. I, also, have to say, I still wanted and needed more. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading, as you will enjoy Tied Up.

This was a great read! Ian was a sexy alpha male, but also charming, gentle and caring. Charlotte (Charlie) is a sweet, vulnerable-turned-strong-and-indipendent woman. They had chemistry right from the start and their sex was great. One problem I had is that we never learn much about them. All we get is a little story about Ian's brother Graham and Elizabeth and Ian's involvement. I would have liked if we could see them bond a bit more, instead of it being all sexual between them. I adored Charlie's relationship with her father; it was too cute. And Leigh and Maddy were great friends to Charlie. The book ended rather abruptly, and I would love if there would be an update about them. I'm left wondering if there's going to be little Ian and Charlie babies. Awesome book!

Elle Vaughn is an awesome author and definitely doesn't disappoint with this one!!!

Charlie, the main female lead, is fresh from a nasty divorce and feels that a new city is the perfect place to start over. She lands a new job and then lands a huge new client in the form of Galloway Tech...it also doesn't hurt that the owner, Ian, is super hot and totally into her!

Ian, one of the owners of Galloway Tech, is a very wealthy man and usually gets what he wants...well he wants Charlie and she wants to be in control.

Charlie and Ian burn up the pages with their romance and you definitely don't want to put it down. Definitely recommend this one!
