The Other Lizzie Bennet was a really fine read that warms your heart and leave you with a smile on your face.

Rosie Green at the 44th book in the Little Duck Pond Cafe hasn't lost her skill and imagination to always craft a new well written story, entertaining and engaging .

I was caught into this book from start to end, here we met some new characters and they were likable.

I adored Lizzie, she is kind with the elders and selfless with her family. Her love for everything Jane Austen is cute and her quest for new clues about her heroine life is intriguing, I couldn’t help but to root for her.

I can't wait to read next book.

I genuinely have loved each book that I have read in this beautiful series and I cannot wait to go back and devour all the ones that I have missed. I just could not put this absolutely gorgeous book down as each and every time I was meant to be doing something other than reading something happened where I just had to read the famous "one more chapter", which as we all know when it comes to a book this good it just does not exist. Therefore, several hours after I had picked it up I had completely devoured the whole book in one sitting. I am not usually a fan of reading books out of order but if you have never read any of Rosie's books before and start with this one, and nobody could you blame you with its stunning cover and brilliant synopsis, there is nothing to fear!! You can start with this one and the silver lining of reading books out of order is that after you have finished this book (and got addicted which I can guarantee you will!) you can go back to read the previous books in the series while you are impatiently waiting for the next book to be released!!! Speaking of which, the next book in this series is called 'Rumours, Romance And Rhubarb Crumble' and you can pre-order it now ready for its release date on the 31st March 2026 which cannot come soon enough! It really is another gorgeous book in the series and the rest of the books in this series are just guaranteed to be just as stunning!! This book is a fantastic read that I just could not put down!!! A gorgeous, unputdownable storyline that I fell in love with and I can guarantee you will too!!! I cannot wait to meet them all again in the next book in the series which is called 'Rumours, Romance And Rhubarb Crumble' which will be published on the 31st March but you can pre-order your copy now!!

This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions and Rosie's gorgeous and evocative writing skills setting the picture perfectly in the readers mind. The title, description and cover works perfectly with the storyline. It is an absolutely ideal read for anyone who is looking for an escape from reality that will have you hooked from beginning to end. I absolutely LOVED the realism of this storyline which made it so easy to picture everything that was going on which had been helped by Rosie's fantastic evocative writing skills. I also loved discovering more about Jane Austin and of course Lizzie Bennet!! I cannot wait to get hooked into more of Rosie's books! This is definitely one of those books that will turn a frown upside down and make life seem a lot brighter. The characters were all an eclectic mix and each one of them were realistic and strong. I was completely invested in them all. It also makes them more realistic, believable and made me feel even more for them than I normally would. Rosie's fantastic and evocative writing skills makes you feel the same as the characters were. I love meeting the same faces along with new ones each and every time I pick up a book in this gorgeous series and finding out new things about the characters!! Each of the characters are memorable and unique in their own ways and they are a group of people that I wont be forgetting any time soon and cannot wait to meet time and time again!! I absolutely loved meeting many of the amazing characters from Sunnybrook again who have very quickly become to feel like friends that I enjoy meeting again and again and miss every time I come to the end of the book. The majority of them are absolutely amazing characters, each with their own strong and unique personalities, all well developed and the majority I absolutely love!! Congratulations Rosie on yet another absolutely stunning read that I just could not put down!!! Another gorgeous book in this stunning series!! It was lovely to return to Sunnybrook and meet Lizzie, who is a new recruit at the Little Duck Pond Café. I must say, she fitted in perfectly with the rest of the much-loved team, and it felt like she’d always been there.
The synopsis hints at it, but this story is a fitting tribute to the incredible author, Jane Austen. Borrowing from my favourite of Jane’s books, I was immediately immersed in the story and simply couldn’t put it down. As the synopsis explains, life begins to imitate fiction as Lizzie’s love life becomes complicated by choice, but an added mystery captured my imagination and had me craving a visit to the area.
Lizzie is a lovely character; her recent past has been marked by heartbreak, and her family have been through the proverbial mill. Despite this, she is upbeat, and her kindness is inspiring. She loves her family and cares deeply about their happiness. She clearly has the fixer gene as she takes everyone’s pain to heart. There is comedy provided by Lizzie’s mum, but I don’t include spoilers, so you’ll need to pick up a copy to learn more.
The elements of the story combine beautifully to create another book that packs a significant punch. I certainly learned some interesting facts about Jane Austen’s life as I followed Lizzie’s investigation of a mysterious discovery.
I can wholeheartedly recommend getting to know the other Lizzie Bennett; she is lovely.

Author Bio – Rosie Green is the author of the popular Little Duck Pond Café series, set in the fictional village of Sunnybrook. Watch out for lots more café drama and romance in 2026, including ‘Rumours, Romance & Rhubarb Crumble’ (out in March) and ‘A Cornish Escape’, which will be published in May.

Admittedly, I’ve never read anything by Jane Austen, I know, shocking right? Obviously I have heard about her and know some of her history as well as watched many adaptions of her books, especially the one with Colin Firth! Lizzie having been named after one of Jane’s characters, knows everything though and the story does pay homage to the era through an upcoming charity event as well as a thread to do with the author which I found fascinating.

I enjoyed getting to know Lizzie and her family. They haven’t had the easiest of times more recently and are trying to work their way through their grief. Lizzie is somewhat loved up with her boyfriend but along comes Dante who throws things up in the air. I loved this tall, handsome yet somewhat grumpy character and it certainly makes Lizzie’s life a lot more interesting getting to know him, although somewhat reluctantly.

The Other Lizzie Bennet was a fun read. It has the classic romance tropes and I was swept away with the history centring around Jane Austen as well as discovering more about certain characters. Lizzie is a great protagonist who takes everything in her stride. There are plenty of funny moments as well as heart-warming ones along with a few surprises in store. It was a lovely pick me up on these cold, wintery days that warmed my heart and mind. Loved it!

What is this magical power Rosie has over me! Every time I read a book by her...I CRY!!!!

I adored Lizzie's introduction, especially in the Duck Pond and then Dante....well McSteamy or what. I loved the homage to Jane Austin, despite not reading or watching anything...oops! But I know the Colin Firth scene everyone talks about, so when it happened in the book, I was excited but also laughing due to the outrageous behaviour of the character pretending to be Mr Firth. What an idiot he was, in so many ways!!!

I really adored the mystery of the diary too! I would love for it to be true. I have no idea if it was, but Dante and Lizzie hunting it all down, and the message tree - ahhhhh, I thought it was just such a beautiful touch to the book.

What got me was Lizzie and her family. The heartache they are all carrying affects their relationships with each other and with the outside. It got me. Anything to do with a Dad and loss always gets me.

Like all her other books, I read this in one go! I never want to put a book down by Rosie. She gets the angst, the love and romance and mystery all down to a T. I mean Book 44 people! It's still as fresh as Book 1 - and we have an entire village of people to love!

What I want to know is how the heck can Rosie keep coming up with such brilliant novellas and publish one every two months! She clearly loves to write, and this shines through all of The Little Duck Pond novellas. They may be shorter than a standard novel but they are full to the brim with positive vibes, love, friendship and of course happy endings.

This one is obviously, to Jane Austen fans, about a girl who loves the fact she shares her name with a character from a Jane Austen novel.

Lizzie is having a few problems at home with her mum and sisters since her dad died and they are struggling to carry on without him. Lizzie and her actor boyfriend Wyatt are to be joining in with the local ‘Regency Romp Festival’, celebrating the life and works of Jane Austen. This is perfect for Lizzie, being such a huge fan.

When the annoying but handsome Dan comes into her life, he brings with him a secret which impacts on her. Not to mention the secrets held by the diary left by the previous owners her old friend Leonard finds in his attic.

I was glued to the pages, desperate to find out if this could be an enemies to lovers ending or whether Lizzie would stay with her boyfriend.

A really enjoyable read with lots of Jane Austen content which Pride and Prejudice fans are going to love.

Book #44 in the Little Duck Pond cafe, and another wonderfully delightful story!!

Lizzie has the curse of a very famous name, but luckily she's a big Jane Austen fan so is grateful to her parents for giving her the JA bug! And as a person she is happy with her life and loving working in the cafe where she's a trusted member of the staff and community, always looking to help others and this is what sets her on a journey of discovery into the past when she's given a diary from Leonard after he has a clearout of his loft!

She's totally absorbed in the mystery of the diary of Charlotte from 1814, and I love how she throws herself into discovering more about the past - I don't think she was expecting the other things she learns about the past though!

There's always romance in these books and I loved how the love angle is approached and it just shows that when you think you know someone, think again! Once again with these books, you become smitten with the characters and the drama that unfolds just takes you in and I loved it!!

The Other Lizzie Bennet by Rosie Green

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My Opinion

The Other Lizzie Bennet is the forty-fourth book in the Little Duck Pond Series but it can easily be read as a standalone. Rosie Green has written another delightful book with some lovely characters. A quick and easy read.

The Other Lizzie Bennet is the 44th book in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series. Each story in this series is fresh, interesting, and entertaining. The reader will be engaged from the start.

With a name like Lizzie Bennet, you can't help but devote a lot of your time to researching Jane Austen and reading her novels. Sunnybrook is even hosting the upcoming Regency Romp Festival. Taking place at Brambleberry Manor, the festival is celebrating all things Jane Austen, including reenactments of scenes from Jane's works.

The author added a spectacular mystery to The Other Lizzie Bennet that had me excited to see the outcome. She also added realism in the form of family dynamics and relationship drama. The Other Lizzie Bennet is a fantastic novel. I enjoyed being back in Sunnybrook, hanging out with old friends, and meeting new ones. I enjoyed the writing style, pacing, and vivid imagery. The characters are written with depth, emotion, and realism.

I'm not a Jane Austen fan but I am a huge fan of Rosie Green and her Little Duck Pond Cafe series.
Now that I've read the latest book in this series, it does have me intrigued to start a Jane Austen book. I've read none of them and don't even know where to start.
The regency fair and the reenactment really had me intrigued to keep reading.
I enjoyed how our characters worked together to solve a mystery as well.
I'll admit I love the characters in the series. The meeting of new ones in each book and the familiarity of the old standbys.
I laughed out loud several times at some of the scenes, oh my.
The whole thing, the beautiful setting, the characters, their personalities, so realistic. I just loved it all and as always look forward to more in this lovely series!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

Any fans of Pride and Prejudice will enjoy this novella immensely, with its various pointers to the original novel and to Jane Austen’s life. The Lizzie Bennett in this story takes against Dante, who is tall, dark and handsome and a dead ringer for Mr Darcy. Her first impression of him is not great, though she is enamoured with her boyfriend who everyone else regards as a self-centred show-off. Dante seems to know more about him, with hints to his past poor behaviour. Lizzie has to decide who is telling the truth.
This was a nice twist on the Little Duck Pond Cafe series, but set in Sunnybrook around the cafe. Familiar people come and go but the real focus is on Lizzie and Dante, who set out to solve a rather interesting Jane Austen mystery. It is a fun addition to the series, especially for book lovers and to be recommended.
In short: romance and mystery

Firstly, all of Green’s Duck Pond Café series stand alone, which is great when there are 44 of them! She does revisit previous characters, but at no point does she lose the reader. It’s masterfully done.

As is obvious from the title, this book has a very Austen feel to it, with the iconically-named Lizzie Bennet embracing the inspiration of Pride and Prejudice. She even gets her own Mr Darcy – here called Dante.

There is a cosy mystery element to the story which I think adds to it. I’m not saying more about that as I don’t want to ruin the surprise! The writing is light-hearted and fun, with occasional sprinkles of humour. It’s a lovely hug of a book that sweeps you away to a delightful setting and a link to Austen that gives the story great depth.

I’ll be reading more of Green’s books – and with 43 others, I have plenty to choose from!

The secrets ot the little wooden box.

The other Lizzy Bennet was the best story so far from the duck pond cafe. It had me laughing crying and so happy all at differant times and also believing what Lizzy and Dante might have found out. Lizzy found out from Leonard that Dante was catching a train to Chawton to research what he thought had found so she rushed to sunnybrook Station to try and catch Dante up and tag along as she had the box 1st. I loved the visit to Chawton to check some things out. I would highly recommend this book to be read in the series or I think you could read it as a stand alone. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have and that I havnt put any spoilers

In this book we meet Lizzie who is a new character and has started working at the café. She makes a great addition to the team and fitted straight in.

I certainly enjoyed this story, I loved the chemistry between Lizzie and Dante.

The Other Lizzie Bennet is the 44th novella in The Little Duck Cafe Series and I always look forward to seeing what Rosie Green has come up with next in this wonderful set of stories.
This is a brilliant nod to all things Jane Austen and I loved seeing Lizzie become so engrossed in Charlotte and Lovell’s lives through the journal in Leonard’s treasured box. Their stories so carefully kept for future generations to enjoy, it was lovely to join Lizzie and Dan on their historical adventure.
Real life ups and downs also play a part on this one, and seeing Lizzie’s family come together after the loss of her father was a special part of the overall story.

Lizzie Bennet is the newest recruit to the Little Duck Pond Cafe and a Jane Austen fanatic. When one of her favourite customers gives her a mystery to solve. There is also a gorgeous but irritating man involved who is also trying to solve the mystery. The sparks are definitely flying in this book and it's a case of beware of the flying ashes. The chemistry between the two is sparkling and I couldn't turn away. The plot is cleverly crafted with romance, history and suspense. It's a fast read but as always it's unbelievably good.

The Little Duck Pond Cafe and Jane Austen's Regency romance in one lovely story. I loved it. There is a lot of humour, poignancy and as always with this series, a heartwarming romantic tale. Lizzie meets her own Darcy in the grumpy but hot Dante, leading to many conflicted romantic moments. There is a mystery to solve and a Regency charity event too. I enjoyed getting to know the new characters and catching up with established ones, the romance, the mystery and the literary Regency romance references.
I received a copy of this book from the author.

As a Jane Austen and a Rosie Green fan I knew I just had to read this book.

I loved the Jane Austen elements and the box with Charlotte’s diary was a nice addition to the storyline.

I read this super fast as I needed to know what happened next. I was willing Lizzie to make the right decision all through the book!

I enjoyed getting to know all the new characters and hope to read more about some of them in the next books.

I so love this series. Each story and its characters are connected by the Little Duck Pond cafe. Lizzie Bennet works at the Little Duck Pond cafe and loves the fact that she shares her name with Jane Austen’s famous character. Her first meeting with an uptight and rude mysterious stranger however isn’t something she wants to dwell on but she soon becomes very intrigued when a regular customer gives her a mystery to solve. Along with Dante, the stranger she met in embarrassing circumstances, she embarks on a journey of mystery that also involves getting to know Dante and them forming an unlikely friendship. I loved how the interactions and chemistry between the two main characters was explored and how the storyline developed with no obvious outcome. Great characters, a real sense of family, friendship and community with an engaging storyline this is a great addition to a great series.

Lizzie Bennet is the newest worker at the Little Duck Pond Cafe. She’s heard all the Jane Austen comments because of her name. Now she has two men who could fill the role of Mr Darcy
I thought Lizzie was kinda of ditzy and scattered-brain
at times. It is an easy to read book that has a little mystery to it.

Forty-four books in and I've just found my series favourite EVER!

Usually a return to Sunnybrook is enough - but to have so much admiration for one of my literary heroines in one tiny tome was joyous.

Lizzie was a likeable character and as the new recruit at The Little Duck Pond Café, I'm sure she's going to be a regular recurrence in future books.

Heartwarming, humorous, and as always a delight to read.
