Planning her sister's Italian wedding only reminds Jules Lane of how far away she is from finding her own true love. And worse, she's doing it alongside the brooding, mouthwateringly handsome best man, Stefano DeFiore.
Maybe the bride?
Having seen the destructive power of love, Stefano has no time for weddings but Jules's smile is captivating. Making her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world is one thing, but can he give this blushing bridesmaid a happily-ever-after of her own?

I liked this book well enough. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. This is a decent little book to read if you have a little bit of time to fill but nothing in the story really stood out in my opinion. When I read this book, I was actually looking for a light read that I could finish during a road trip and this book fit my needs perfectly.
Jules comes to Italy to see her sister, Lizzie. She is soon enlisted to stay and help pull together a wedding for Lizzie and Dante. She finds herself with Dante's brother, Stefano a lot during this visit starting with the moment she steps off the plane. Jules accepts Stefano's offer to stay at the villa during her visit because she feels a little uncomfortable around Lizzie and Dante.
Stefano finds himself right in the middle of all of the wedding planning and it seems that he and Jules are responsible for planning the whole event. Stefano has given up on love. He tried once and it ended badly and he believes that the DeFiore men are cursed since things seem to always end tragically. He still finds himself strongly attracted to Jules even though she is very different than anyone else he has ever met.
I found this book to be very predictable in a way that can be somewhat common in romances. Of course, I knew right away that Jules and Stefano would be a couple before the book was over. I liked them together well enough but there was never any moment in the book that really pulled me in emotionally.
I also found that I really needed to just kind of go with this story because there were a few things that I found to be highly improbable. I still don't understand why Jules and Stefano were planning Lizzie and Dante's wedding without any real help from the couple actually getting married. I mean does that kind of thing ever really happen? I also thought that it was a bit crazy to think that Jules would come to a whole different country to visit her sister and then choose not to stay with her during her visit. She didn't even see very much of her during this story.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, easy romantic story. I think that this book could be read as a stand alone novel without any trouble although there are a few topics carried over from the first book, The Playboy of Rome.

Jules Lane is the sister of Lizzie (the heroine in the previous book), she comes to Italy to visit her sister when she finds out that Lizzie and her fiancé Dante have decided to have the wedding in two months time instead of next spring.
Stefano DeFiore is the brother of the groom, he believes that the couple is rushing into marriage especially with all the tragic endings that DeFiore men in the family including himself have suffered in love and marriage.
I did liked Stefano and Jules relationship. They become friends albeit reluctantly on Stefano’s side since he did not want to get involved in the wedding preparations since it reminded him of his late wife. Their moments were sweet and they both genuinely wanted to understand and know more about each other.
I really liked Stefano’s character. He was sweet and very understanding towards Jules. He saw underneath all the makeup, masks to the real Jules, and wanted her to make her see that her scars did not matter and that she was beautiful inside out.
Quibbles: Like the last book in the series, the heroine Jules was insecure, very sensitive and misunderstood what Stefano said a lot the times which got on my nerves. Another thing that bugged me was Lizzie and Dante’s behaviour especially with regards to their non-involvement with their own wedding. They just shoved all the work to Stefano and Jules and it was like they couldn’t care less what their siblings were going through.
Overall, it was a okay read with little angst. I enjoyed it more than the previous book in the series.
Can the beautiful and free spirited Jules awaken Stephano and free him from his self-imposed exile from life and love? Can Jules learn to stand up for herself and follow her own path? Although they may seem like an unlikely match, they have an undeniable chemistry and are exactly what the other needs. They complement each other perfectly and the ending is really special. A fast, easy and very romantic read.

Best Man for the Bridesmaid is a perfectly fine book. I was just bored or rolling my eyes or bored while rolling my eyes. Best Man for the Bridesmaid isn’t a silly book, per se. It’s just…has silly (but not funny) moments that sorta made me want to cringe.
In Best Man for the Bridesmaid, the heroine, Jules, is planning her sister’s wedding. Basically alone. Because reasons. Jules is SO alone planning this wedding that makes Stefano, the hero, pretend that they (Jules and Stefano) are the couple being married. I was irritated by that fiction – Jules could have pretended to be the wedding planner – and that was my first sign this wouldn’t be a quick read.
I pushed through quite a bit until I got to the point where I was bored of being bored. I then put the book down for…only God knows how long, really. A few weeks? IDK. I decided to skim-read to the end because the book was due back at the library on 25-Jun-2016. The more I skimmed, the less interested I was. I did read the ending. I felt it was pretty “meh.” In fact, the entire book was one long blur of boring-ness.

Best Man for the Bridesmaid is the sequel to Playboy of Rome. Both books follow Dante and Lizzie and their journey of finding each other. In the first book we get a small look into the lives of the people they love the most. For Lizzie that is her foster sister Jules and for Dante his brother Stefano. Although this is a continuation of Dante and Lizzie’s story they take more of a background roll in this book.
Jules has flown from New York to help her sister prepare for her wedding to Dante. What she didn’t know when she made the trip was that she would be planning the wedding all on her own with a little help from Stefano.
You can see the chemistry between the two of them come right off of the page. But they both have a past that neither one of them is willing to reveal to the other. They both feel that they are not meant for love but the closer they get the more they both start to wonder.
Best Man for the Bridesmaid is told from two different point of views. Unlike the first book where I didn’t feel a lot of attention was given to the details of the scenery around them I think that in this book the author took more time to make the reader feel like they were their by describing in a lot more detail the surrounding’s around them.
All in all it was a good story, the plot was reveled early and you knew where it was going to take you. However there were a lot of details left open for me in the end of the story that I wish were tied up. Because of that I am giving Best Man for the Bridesmaid a three rose rating.
Favorite Quote: “He might not, but the bride will. If she’s not happy, do you really think that he’ll be happy?”
After reading The Playboy of Rome I was on such a book high that I wanted to start reading Best Man for the Bridesmaid. Well, both stories are similar to the fact that both heroine's grew up in foster care, and they both fall for a DeFiore. All right, Jules is happy for her sister/best friend Lizzie, and she would do anything for her after all they have been together forever. When Lizzie needs help planning the wedding, Jules steps up and take charge. In a way Jules lets Lizzie walk all over her, but I don't think Lizzie realizes this. You this a lot in the story, and the one person that realizes this is Stefano. As Jules and him start to hangout, Jules brings out feelings that he long ago believe they were gone.
Okay, both Jules and Stefano carry a ton of emotional baggage. Stefano carries the death of his wife, and believes he doesn't deserves love. However, from what I gather is that Stefano and his wife were ill-suited when they married. You can see for yourself. So, he carries a lot of blame for what had happen, and you don't get all the info until we get closer to the end. Now Jules has emotional baggage, but she also has physical baggage. The clothes she wears is her armor, because growing up she was made fun of and believe no one would love her like she's special. A couple of instants make her believe this fact.
I liked Best Man for the Bridesmaid, because these two characters help one another get out of their comfort zones and start to live again. Stefano helps Lizzie stand up for herself and be the person she wants to be. Lizzie helps Stefano that there is more to life that punishing oneself for an accident. So, if you are looking for a sweet story that has two people needing to face some of their issues, you might give Best Man for the Bridesmaid a try.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This is the second in the series and starts from the end of book 1, so do read that first to fully enjoy the experience. It too is a very sweet, entertaining romance. It contains no bad language and nothing other than references to possible sexual intimacy - there are some pretty potent kisses!
In the last book, Dante and Lizzie finally worked out what they held important in life and straightened out some wrinkles he had with his family. The belief that DeFiore men are destined to be alone had been seriously affecting Dante's self-belief. Here we are told Stefano's story, and also get fun glimpses of their long widowed father, finally living again. Again set in the beautiful countryside outside Rome, it isn't difficult to imagine romance blossoming. Stefano is having a harder time of it, but in the face of wedding preparations for his brother, he has to take a good look at his life, and think of his future too.
Lovely, sweet story, with lots of feel good moments. Great escapism.
It was okay. I’d liked the first book but this one wasn’t as good. I disliked Jules from the start, I hate women who think they’re entitled to ask anything they want regardless. No, she didn’t. She was just an intrusive, judgemental pain in the backside for so much of the book.
In this one, Lizzie was also a total pain in the backside. Grad school was her goal for Jules and she showed no interest in finding out what was going on with Jules or what she really wanted. The whole kow-towing to the film company was illogical.
I liked Jules and Stefano’s story, but it got neglected with the continual appearances of Dante and Lizzie.
Sorry the ending spoiled it for me. What was wrong with having babies and also adopting? Jules spent the entire book thinking she couldn’t be a proper mother. Was the ending supposed to suggest she wouldn’t take risks with her own children but she could with others’?
I really dislike the ‘aren’t they wonderful - they’re prepared to adopt’ trope.

I really enjoyed this clean, romance. I bought this at a local library sale and I voluntarily chose to review this story. I've given this a 5* rating. This pulled me in more slowly. The hero and the heroine went through a lot of denial before they reached an agreement. It was an up and down relationship that was fun and sad at different times. It was an entertaining read.
After reading The Playboy of Rome, I was thrilled to be able to immediately dive into the second DeFiore Brother’s book, Best Man for the Bridesmaid. Reading these books back to back was like an extended vacation in Italy & with good company too. Best Man for the Bridesmaid takes place right where The Playboy of Rome leaves off, but with the focus on Lizzie’s sister, Jules.
Jules, Lizzie’s foster sister, is making her way from New York to Italy to help with Lizzie’s wedding planning. Upon her arrival, she’s met by Stefano, Dante’s older brother. Stefano is immediately captivated by Jules “out there” appearance and a little butterfly tattoo that peaks out from under her shirt collar. But after loosing his first wife in a car accident, he’s decided he has no need to fall in love again. After all, DeFiore men have bad luck when it comes to love.
Jules has worked long and hard to make it through school, but after a negative experience at her most recent internship, she’s rethinking her career choice. The only problem is…telling her sister that she no longer wants to attend graduate school. But how do you tell someone who has only encouraged you and work hard to help you afford tuition? How do you tell your sister who is trying to plan a wedding as well as work on a cooking show that you’re not going back to school? That’s what Jules must try and figure out.
As Jules gets settled into live in Italy, she quickly takes on the challenge of planning her sisters entire wedding, all with the help of the best man, Stefano. What these two don’t know is that all the time they spend together planning their siblings wedding, will lead to quite the romance for each other.
Both Jules and Stefano have a lot of emotional baggage and inner battles that they have to deal with. Fortunately, they both seem to help one another in way they least expect. They pushed one another, in the best way possible, allowing each other to take chances and go outside of their comfort zones. Stefano and Jules compliment one another & encourage one another. I love when relationships are about more than just physical attraction, and that’s exactly what’s going on between these two leading characters. Of course, their newly developed relationship isn’t filled with rainbows and sunshine. Jules and Stefano face their fair share of trials and tribulations, together and individually.
Best Man for the Bridesmaid is a whirlwind romance set in beautiful Italy. If you’ve read the first book in the DeFiore Brother’s series, you get to revisit old characters all while meeting new ones. It’s a book about closing one chapter in life and starting another, but not without hitting a few road bumps along the way.
Jules Lane works in a coffee shop in New York City while she is finishing her graduate degree. Her foster sister Lizzie is getting married in Italy and she travels over there to help Lizzie with the wedding preparations. As it happens the best man, Stefano DeFiore, will be helping her, albeit reluctantly. Jules thinks he’s hot: he looks like a GQ cover model; she’s not Stefano’s type: she dresses like a Goth, mostly in purple and black and she wears too much makeup but she intrigues him. Stefano cannot help wonder who is the woman who lurks behind the makeup and flashy clothes. Stefano is aloof, but they have to get acquainted since they will be family soon.
BEST MAN FOR THE BRIDESMAID is the second book in the DeFiore Brothers series but it can easily be read as a standalone. Stefano and Jules are both hiding behind tragic events from their past, and I love how Ms. Faye brings them together: their relationship progresses organically. I love Stefano: he’s a nice man, for once not a dominant Alpha male, but he sounds like a real person. He’s stubborn in his pain, while Jules is a fabulous heroine who goes after what she wants when things get desperate. I must add that there is no explicit sex in BEST MAN FOR THE BRIDESMAID although there is plenty of sexual chemistry between Stefano and Jules. It’s very well written, the story flows easily, and I imagined myself in Italy for a little while. I thought it was a beautiful, simple, and lovely love story, and I look forward to more books by Jennifer Faye.
I was lucky to win this book and my review would not change if I had bought it; I loved it!
When Jules Lane fly's to Italy for her sister's wedding she doesn't expect tall, dark, and oh so drop dead gorgeous Stefano DeFiore to pick her up at the airport..the best man, and soon to be brother-in-law.
As Stefano is looking for Lizzie's sister at the airport not knowing what she looks like he's asking everyone he see's. When she call to him well let's just say he's stunned behind words. She's very different from Lizzie. Then why can't he stop starring at her? Something about her intrigues him. The last thing he needs is any romantic involvement. He get's sucked into helping with his brothers wedding. He isn't sure how it happened?
The plans for Lizzie and Dante's wedding have changed at the last minute, and have gone a little haywire..Jules assures Lizzie she'll take care of things..whatever it takes to make her sisters wedding the best ever. If only Stefano would stop being so stubborn...The fun has begun, and it just leads to something unexpected. You'll see..
So trying to get everything done before the big day everything is coming together nicely. The only thing is the attraction between Jules and Stefano gets to be more, but before that happens it stops.
The day is finally here. See what the happy day brings. It's one series you want to buy. It will having you wanting more. Soul searching, fun loving, laughing, family...
Jennifer Faye is amazing. I love her books. She describes the scenery as if you were in Italy. So you'll be traveling through the vineyards with them too..
Best Man for the Bridesmaid is the story of Jules, Lizzie’s foster sister who is in Rome to help her with the wedding preparations and finds herself partnered with the gloomy best man Stefano, Dante’s older, widowed brother. Jules has always had Lizzie to depend on and she knows that things are about to change. Also, she is preoccupied by the decision she needs to make about her life back in New York and now she has to deal with her attraction to Stefano. Stefano has been living with the guilt that he was responsible for what happened to his late wife and coupled with his father and grandfather losing the women in their lives, he is convinced that the DeFiore men are destined to be alone and he is determined to resist his attraction to Jules. However, as they spend time together planning the wedding, they find it difficult to resist each other. Jules also carries scars from her past and I love Jules very much because even though she started out like a pushover, she knew what she wanted and showed strength in fighting for who she wanted, even in the face of repeated rejection.
With her DeFiore Brothers series, Ms. Faye has created sweet, sensual stories centered on family and triumphing over adversity.

"Best man for the Bridesmaid" was a quick, sweet romance that introduces us to Stefano(love the name) DeFiore, the older, conservative brother and best man to younger brother, Dante. Retired from life (or love) because of quilt he feels from a past mistake, Stefano throws himself into his work, managing his family's increasingly successful winery business. But, with his brother's upcoming marriage, he has been volunteered to assist the maid of honor, Lizzie's sister, with planning the wedding. Julianna, or Jules as she likes to be called, is not what he expected nor is his attraction to her. He finds himself drawn to her despite her Goth appearance which she tends to hide behind. Each must remove the emotional masks they wear if love is to find a way in. What a great way to spend a few hours - reading the second in the DeFiore Brothers series. It was such a cute story with just a little bit of drama. Despite being set in Italy, it did not contain much that gave it that "foreign flavor" and seemed a little generic regionally. It could easily been set in California. A bit more Italian influence in the characters and settings would have deepened my enjoyment of this delightful little book.
It was generally an OK story, could have been better. And maybe a little bit more dash of romance, I found it the flow of the story was a bit dragging on and on.
But I love how the author project Italy as the backdrop of this story, since I found now in many Harlequin books that I have read that Italy has become one of the most romantic cities in the world, beside France, Spain and England, so far...
It was a little difficult at first to picture the character Jules at first, thought she would be the girl with so many tattoos, dark clothes and heavy make-up, so much at first glance she will be looking so gothic until when Stefano caught her without her makeup, then I can start see Jules in a different light and I could imagine she would be a very beautiful woman without all the make-up and tattoos.
Absolutely boring book. Took me a week to read and that also when I skipped pages. I have not read the previous book but I found Lizzie irritating. Jules was always confused and Stefano was the most bugging and childish hero. He was just not able to decide what he wanted. I felt I was reading about a teenage hero rather than a man in his thirties.
Jennifer Faye takes us on a captivating ride as 2 stubborn souls find their own true love. It was not in the plans to find true love. But as Julie went over to help your sister with her wedding fate stepped in and love began. Stefano was in for a spell he wasn't even prepared for. A fantastic cute book as only Jennifer Faye can make you believe, true love is still a fairytale.
Best Man for the Bridesmaid is a sweet and romantic read. I enjoyed seeing Stefano open up his heart again and Jules find what she most wanted in life.
"Faye’s latest romance is so sweet it could cause cavities. Readers will likely read this again and again; it’s that good!" (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars)
