Jude Kensington is the playboy of Pembroke Hills Country Club and the last person I expected to be living with this summer.
Charming flirt. Billionaire bachelor. And my friend who once kissed me during a night neither of us can remember—or forget. But before things could get complicated, a surprise showed up on his doorstep.
A baby. His baby.
With no clue how to care for an infant and me in search of a place to live, we strike a deal: I’ll help him survive fatherhood, and he’ll give me a place to stay. Temporary. Convenient. Totally platonic.
Except nothing about this arrangement feels simple. Not when I’m rocking his daughter to sleep. Not when I catch him watching me like I’m something he can’t have. And definitely not when I remember exactly how it felt to kiss him.
Falling for Jude was never part of the deal. But the longer we play house, the harder it is to pretend I don’t want to be more than friends…

I am OBSESSED with daddy Jude and devoured this book & audio! Jude and Charlotte are so perfect for this friends to lovers vibe and the attraction has always been lingering the background. But when they both can’t ignore it anymore, I was loving every minute! And sweet little Ava, I love how Jude does not hesitate to be the best dad that he can = instant swoon!
𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤: The audiobook for this is performed in duet by Megan Wicks and Jason Clarke. I think these two were the perfect casting for Charlotte & Jude and they both brought this book to life! I loved how the emotions came through with certain scenes and I couldn’t stop listening!
“Now, home is the place I want to be the most, because home is not only my daughter, but it’s Charlotte too.”
Gosh was it a dream to be back in Pembroke Hills & finally get Jude’s story!! And dare I say they might be my new favorite friends to lovers story!!
Jude and Charlotte were always destined to end up together but their journey was even more rewarding to watch because they were best friends first, so their relationship felt so natural. I think because they had such a solid and special relationship as friends it made their relationship feel so authentic. And the way sweet Ava baby was the missing puzzle piece to pull these two together was just the sweetest. The three of them just made the most adorable family together!!
Tropes: 💜Friends to lovers 🤍Forced proximity 💜Single Dad 🤍He wears slutty little glasses 💜Spicy
Charlotte had big dreams when she moved to the Hamptons, she was going to work at Pembroke Hills to save money and open a photography studio. What she didn’t expect was to make amazing friends there, including one of the male variety. Since most people leave during the off-season, she found herself spending more time with one man in particular, a charming flirt, who has quickly become her closest friend. When they have to much to drink one night and share a kiss before falling asleep together on the couch, she wakes up early the next morning and makes a quick escape, hoping to avoid any awkwardness, but when she returns to his house after work, finding him holding a baby who looks just like him, things become a whole lot more complicated.
Jude has always dreamed of having a family one day, but a former one-night stand showing up on his doorstep after a year and handing him a baby was not the way he imagined things happening. Panicked with absolutely no idea what to do, he is relieved with his friend Charlotte stops by and comes to his rescue. Since she needs a place to stay for the summer, he offers her a room in his house, but makes it clear he isn’t expecting her to help raise his daughter. But the more time they spend together, the more they start feeling like a family, and Jude soon realizes that he no longer thinks of her as just a friend.
I received an early copy of this book from Valentine PR and I absolutely loved it! I loved the banter between Char and Jude in the previous books, and this one just took everything to a whole other level. While I understand why Charlotte resisted Jude’s charms in the beginning, not wanting to make things awkward in their friends group if he lived up to his reputation of “love them and leave them”, the fact that they had a year to build their friendship and become such an integral part of each others’ lives truly cemented their potential as a couple. The fact that Jude was interested in her at first, but allowed himself to be relegated to the friend zone, showed that he had the potential for more all along. While it would have been easy to say that Ava forced them to become more then friends, I loved that the author addressed that, and gave both Jude and Char time to work through those assumptions on their own, allowing them to come together even stronger in the end.
Jude and Charlotte were so incredibly cute. Baby Ava definitely stole the show. Give me a single dad with slutty glasses all day. The way these two had me on the edge of my seat to get together though. I was happy how everything turned out and the tension building was chefs kiss.
These two for real did not want to ruin their friendship by crossing a line but were so in love with each other for far longer than they realized. I love a single parent because I love when the other MC falls head over heels for the kid too. Like yes, I love the HEA that the MC’s get but give me a person who has no blood relationship love the kid like their own. Charlotte was that for us and so much more. She took one look at Ava and was like, yup, you’re mine too.
Charlotte and Jude had so much chemistry though that I read this in one day because I needed to know how they ended up together and that everything worked out. Jude was definitely bringing his A game with the dirty talk. Did not expect it out of him.
I loved being able to get back to the Pembroke world and seeing everyone from past books. A true found family in this world.
Thank you to Kat Singleton and Valentine PR for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Tropes: ✨Reformed playboy ✨Single dad ✨Billionaire ✨Friends to lovers ✨Forced proximity ✨Age gap
The number of times I said “awww” during this book should probably be illegal. It had the perfect balance of sweet, heart-melting moments and spicy ones, and I was completely immersed in all of them!
More Than Friends lives up to its name. Jude is the quintessential playboy who has never settled down, though he’s always had a soft spot for his best friend Charlotte. Everything changes when he’s suddenly thrown a major curveball… or should we say a baby? When Charlotte moves in to help him care for little Ava, their plan is simple: survive the early stages of parenthood together. But living under the same roof quickly turns into something much more.
I absolutely loved watching these two navigate new parenthood together. The love and vulnerability Jude shows for his daughter is incredibly swoon-worthy, and if you love the single dad trope, this book will definitely give you all those feels and more.
Make sure to add Pembroke Series Book 3 More Than Friends to your ever-growing TBR list! It releases March 24.
Tropes ✨ 👨👧 Single Dad 🏡 Roommates 💘 He Falls First 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Super Spicy
Jude and Charlotte have been friends for the last year since their mutual friends got together. Charlotte denied Jude’s flirting and put him in the friend zone. Char’s job at the club keeps them close. After a shared kiss the night Charlotte finds out she needs a place to stay, a woman shows up with a baby that belongs to Jude.
Jude immediately steps up when the mother doesn’t want to be involved. Charlotte helps him adjust and moves in. They fall for each other and for little Ava 😍
I really enjoyed Jude as a dad👨👧 There is a little third act misunderstanding that I could’ve done without. Overall, I love this series! 💚💜⛳️👶🏼
this book felt a nice easy fall and i loved it! it felt natural and gentle and i loved getting to watch jude and charlotte grow from friends to lovers. it was like watching a flower bloom. it was low stakes so it never felt stressful. he fell hard which is exactly what i like in a mmc ;) bonus because it had my favorite microtrope (iykyk) and no third act breakup!!
Charlotte is spending the summer figuring out her next step while working as a golf cart girl at a country club. Her best friend Jude is flirty, hot, and very much a playboy...I couldn’t help picturing Jude Law with his “slutty glasses” from The Holiday.
Everything changes when Jude suddenly becomes a single dad and Charlotte moves in to help with baby Ava. The lines blur, the chemistry heats up, and the friendship intensifies! I was gasping, smiling, and loving every page.
Oh my heart! I loved this more than I even have the words to express! This was friends to lovers on another level! I absolutely LOVED seeing Jude as a dad and getting to witness he and Charlotte navigate their growing feelings with a baby thrown in there. It was pure magic to read and I swooned so hard!
The spice is also next level and my jaw was quite literally on the floor for a few chapters 🔥🔥🔥
This is one of those rare series that get better with each book. I have been waiting for Jude’s book and I can promise you it did not disappoint. There’s something so magical about friends to lovers. Jude and Charlotte are just that magic together. Despite dancing around each other the attraction is crystal clear add in as sweet surprise, baby girl, and my heart melted through this entire book. This is a must read!

Billionaire baby fever & one very dangerous “just friends” deal
4.5 ⭐️ | 3.25 🌶️
Kat Singleton really said “what if we take friends-to-lovers, add a billionaire playboy, throw in a surprise baby, and trap them in a house together all summer?” and honestly… I ate it up.
More Than Friends, the third installment in the Pembroke Hills series by Kat Singleton, was my first taste of this world, and now I’m wondering why it took me this long to visit Pembroke Hills.
I was already familiar with Kat Singleton’s writing style thanks to the Black Ties & Billionaires series, but this book still managed to surprise me in the best way.
Our FMC, Charlotte, is a 24-year-old bev cart girl working at an elite country club, quietly chasing a dream of becoming a photographer. After seeing the Hamptons in a magazine, she takes the leap and moves there, hoping to build something new for herself. She’s independent, warm, and quietly resilient; the kind of heroine you root for instantly.
Enter Jude Kensington.
Country club playboy. Billionaire-in-the-making. Professional flirt. The kind of man who can have any woman with a single look… except Charlotte, who seems almost immune to his charm. And naturally, that drives him a little crazy.
Their connection starts innocently enough: best friends by association as their respective best friends fall in love. But after a series of unfortunate events for Charlotte and one very alcohol-influenced night, the line between friendship and something more blurs when they share a kiss neither of them can quite forget.
And just when things start to feel complicated… life drops a bombshell.
Jude discovers he’s the father of a four-month-old baby girl.
Suddenly the carefree billionaire bachelor has a crib in his house, bottles in the fridge, and absolutely no idea what he’s doing. That’s where Charlotte steps in. She needs a place to stay, he desperately needs help surviving fatherhood, and so they strike a deal.
Temporary. Convenient. Totally platonic.
Except… nothing about playing house with your billionaire best friend and his baby feels simple.
What follows is a slow, tension-filled evolution from friendship to something deeper. These two spend so much time pretending they don’t feel what’s clearly there that you’ll want to shake them (and then hug them) at the same time. Their dynamic is layered with longing, hesitation, jealousy, and the kind of emotional intimacy that makes the eventual payoff feel so satisfying.
And listen… Jude Kensington when he gets jealous? Absolutely feral.
The protective energy. The barely-contained possessiveness. The quiet “she’s mine” tension simmering beneath the surface whenever another man so much as breathes near Charlotte? Delicious.
But what really made this story shine for me was the emotional core. It’s not just about romance; it’s about learning to accept help, building unexpected family, and realizing that sometimes the people who feel safest are the ones who end up meaning the most.
The found family vibes are strong here, and Jude’s journey into fatherhood adds a softness to his character that balances perfectly with his confident, teasing personality.
And the baby? Absolutely stole the show.
Overall, this was such a warm, swoony, emotionally satisfying read. It’s sweet, a little messy, full of tension, and packed with those quiet moments that make a romance feel real.
Huge thank you to Valentine PR for the e-ARC, and congratulations to Kat Singleton on the upcoming release of More Than Friends on March 24th. I’ll definitely be going back to read the first two books in the Pembroke Hills series because I need to soak in more of this world.
If you love: friends-to-lovers tension, billionaire heroes who secretly have hearts of gold, surprise babies, forced proximity, protective jealousy, and found family vibes… this one should absolutely be on your TBR.
Just be warned: once Jude Kensington starts looking at Charlotte like she’s the one thing he can’t have, it becomes very hard to stop reading. 💙📚
👫 Friends to Lovers 🏠 Forced Proximity 🍼 Surprise Baby 👶 Single Dad 💞 Slow Burn Romance 😤 Playboy Hero 💋 That One Kiss 👀 Lingering Tension 🛟 Emotional Growth 👨👧 Found Family
Star: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.25
More Than Friends by Kat Singleton is book three in the Pembrooke Hills series and delivers a charming friends to lovers romance filled with humor, heart, and an unexpected journey into parenthood.
Jude Kensington has built a reputation as the carefree playboy of Pembrooke Hills Country Club. Charming, wealthy, and known for never settling down, he is the last person anyone expects to suddenly become a father. When a baby appears on his doorstep, Jude is completely out of his depth and forced to confront a life he never planned for.
Charlotte needs a place to stay and already share a complicated history with Jude; she agrees to help him navigate life with a newborn in exchange for a temporary place to live. What begins as a practical arrangement quickly becomes something far more complicated as they slip into a rhythm of shared responsibilities, late nights with a baby, and quiet moments that feel a little too intimate for two people who are supposed to just be friends.
The dynamic between Jude and Charlotte is where the story truly shines. Their friendship already carries layers of tension, especially after a kiss from the past that neither of them fully understands but neither can forget. Living together only amplifies that tension, turning lingering looks and playful banter into something deeper and far more difficult to ignore.
Jude is an especially compelling hero because beneath the confident billionaire exterior is a man who genuinely wants to do the right thing. Watching him step into fatherhood adds warmth and vulnerability to his character, while his growing feelings create a slow burn romance that feels both natural and emotionally satisfying.
The found family element with the baby adds a softer, more emotional layer to the story. The domestic moments of learning to care for an infant, sharing responsibilities, and building a life together create a sense of intimacy that steadily pushes their relationship beyond friendship.
More Than Friends is a heartfelt and engaging romance that blends humor, emotional growth, and undeniable chemistry. It is a story about unexpected love, second chances at connection, and discovering that sometimes the best relationships are the ones that begin as friendship.
A beautiful day in the neighborhood, AKA Pembroke Hills
From the moment this book was announced I knew was gonna love it. And then when the characters were announced I was a goner already because the excitement grew so much!!! Let’s be real, I absolutely adore Kat’s writing. Anything she writes I’m gonna read (yes, I’m serious. I’d even read her grocery list or a to-do list). So I knew this one wasn’t gonna be any different for me. I was gonna pick it up and put it down (& be done) in one sitting. And like always, it was perfection—truly perfection from the moment I read the first sentence LOL. All men written by Kat are the BEST & I wish with all of me, I could experience at least one of them for myself just once (if you’re my husband, I’m kidding, well maybe🤫)
Charlotte & Jude — these two are a match made in heaven and I SWOON. Char is a bar cart girl with big dreams for her future. And Jude is another high class rich man that’s a member of the club (he golfs too)! To me, it seemed like Jude wanted her all along. Like he’s had a crush on her forever. And tbh, I love a king that knows what he wants and goes after it. But on the contrary, Char seemed avoidant and more true to herself than anything. She cared for him deeply, but wanted to stay friends and that’s it, which I get. For me, as soon as he showed up in glasses, grey sweats, and holding a baby…. I would have been done right then and there. So I was begging C to just GIVE IN to the pull to him at this point. And to make things even better, J is like the biggest flirt. So we waited for what felt like forever, but the wait was worth it. IYKYK
“More than Friends” was and IS truly epic. I was just as emotionally involved in this book as I was intrigued. Both the ARC copy and ALC copy were perfection and I could not put them down. I have to say that K has outdone herself again. I really don’t know how her books keep getting better and better every time, but they always outdo the previous one. It only goes up here my friend!! And I cannot wait to see what else Kat Singleton has up her sleeve for us in Pembroke.
From this reviewer herself, I am truly obsessed and satisfied…but politely, how do I ask for more without sounding greedy? 😂🤝
Tropes- * Single Dad * Flirty mmc * Crush on his best friend * Billionaire * Bar cart girl/Photographer * Roomies
I’m still not over Jude, Charlotte, and baby Ava. This book had me completely wrapped up in their little world and I loved every messy, emotional, swoony second of it.
Jude Kensington is the ultimate Pembroke Hills playboy. Billionaire, charming, flirty, completely used to getting his way… and then life throws him the most unexpected curveball ever. A baby. His baby. Ava. And this man has absolutely no clue what he’s doing.
Enter Charlotte, who ends up living with him for the summer after they strike a deal. She needs a place to stay, and Jude desperately needs help figuring out how to keep a tiny human alive. Totally practical. Totally temporary. Totally platonic.
Except… it doesn’t stay that way for long.
Watching Jude with Ava was honestly one of my favourite parts of this entire book. Seeing this confident, cocky billionaire turn into a slightly overwhelmed but completely devoted dad melted my heart. The scenes with him learning how to take care of Ava, worrying about her, and slowly growing into fatherhood were so sweet.
And then there’s Charlotte stepping in and helping him through it all. Late nights with the baby, quiet moments together, rocking Ava to sleep… it all creates this little accidental family that neither of them expected but you can feel forming page by page.
The tension between Jude and Charlotte is SO GOOD. They keep insisting they’re just friends even though they shared that one unforgettable kiss before everything changed. And the way Jude watches her when she’s holding Ava or helping around the house… you can just tell he’s already gone for her.
The domestic moments absolutely destroyed me. Them caring for Ava together, falling into routines, becoming this little unit without even realizing it… it was soft and beautiful and made their feelings feel so real.
And when those feelings finally start surfacing?? I was cheering. Because these two clearly belong together.
This book gave me friends to lovers, forced proximity, accidental family, soft dad vibes, and so many swoony moments. Jude, Charlotte, and baby Ava completely stole my heart.
Five stars easily. I would happily live inside this story forever. 💕👶📚
💚ARC Review 💜 Book 3 in the Pembroke Hills series and this one is now my favorite!! Kat can do no wrong in my book! I love her writing style and have been a huge fan! She gives us the best billionaire MMCs!
Jude and Charlotte are literally perfect! This is such a sweet and spicy friends to lovers that gives you all the feels! Jude and Char meet through their respective best friends Cal & Lucy from book 1. Jude is the fun and flirty billionaire MMC and Charlotte is the sassy bev cart girl who has dreams of being a professional photographer! Knowing she will be around Jude due to their friends she immediately friend zones him despite having an attraction to him. It takes Jude becoming a single father to 4mo old Ava and Char staying with him helping out for them to really start to realize their attraction to each other! Loved their playful banter! They have the easiest friendship! It's so organic and how it grows to be more was just beautiful! It wasn’t rushed, it felt so natural! 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝘂𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲. It gets spicy around 50% into the book and a flow buildup and it doesn’t let off after that! So good! The tension!!🔥They were made for each other!! “𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸.” Daddy Jude is everything!! This man is sweet and endearing but also has a filthy mouth!
This was a surprise pregnancy done right! Jude was smitten with his girls! He was made to be a girl dad that’s for sure! I loved watching them all bond! It was precious! The epilogue was a perfect ending and I have a feeling we’ll see more of them! “𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚, 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧, 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙. 𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩. 𝙈𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙈𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.”
I can’t wait to see what Kat writes next!! I’m curious to see who Tyson is so fixed on! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: Friends to Lovers Billionaire Single Dad Forced Proximity Reformed Playboy Age Gap He 💦in his pants Slutty glasses “Good girl”

Bookish ARC Review 💭📚 More than Friends 👓👶 Rating: 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢 Spice: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Single dad. Sl/tty little glasses. Best friends who definitely shouldn’t kiss… 💋
Meet Jude Kensington, a billionaire, member of Pembroke Hills Country Club, reformed playboy, and best friend to Cal. Jude has it all: the looks (sl*tty little glasses x grey sweatpants included), the money, the friendships, the family. Yet lately he craves something… or 'someone' more.
Meet Charlotte Mitchell (Char). Lucy / Jude’s best friend. Char moved to the Hamptons in hopes of one day opening a photography studio. For now though, she works as a bar cart girl at Pembroke Hills. Life is going well as she enjoys her job, the tips are great.. AND Jude is always there! So what could go wrong?
One drunken night changes EVERYTHING. A brief kiss makes them realise their friendship might not be just a friendship anymore.
THE SLOW BURN BEGINS… Jude, known as a professional flirt, has always wanted to protect her and, from the beginning, has wanted her. However, Char has always been immune to his charm, constantly putting him in the friend-zoning. And he respected that. Which I loved. But, when a baby unexpectedly enters Jude’s life, it instantly brings them closer. Char now fears the walls she built to protect her heart may soon crumble. She begins to wonder if they could be something more. Yet she knows his reputation and fears being just another number... P.S. Cal giving Char advice after eavesdropping on her x Lucy? I squeaked! 🐭 IYKYK
From buying her coffee, secretly tipping her, to being possessive, quietly calling her ‘HIS’, raising a baby, living together, and the nicknames “His Girls” x “Sweetheart”... So many moments had me squealing 😭✨
Ultimately, More than Friends is the perfect friends-to-lovers romance, full of tension, flirty banter, spice, and heartfelt confessions. Sometimes a friendship really can turn into more than friends 💖
If you’re looking for an emotional, addictive, slow burn, swoon-worthy romance with a single dad x sl/tty little glasses, add this to your TBR ☀️📚
Thank you so much, as always @authorkatsingleton, @teamkatsingleton, @valentine_pr_ for the ARC 💕
More Than Friends is a heartwarming single-dad, friends-to-lovers, “he fell first” billionaire romance that completely charmed me from start to finish. As the third standalone in the Pembroke Hills series, it can easily be enjoyed on its own, but it also adds another delightful story to this world.
What really made this book shine for me was the relationship between the main characters. Their friendship already had such a strong foundation, and watching it slowly evolve into something deeper felt incredibly natural and genuine. The way they interact with each other is just so sweet—full of warmth, teasing, and quiet understanding. Rather than relying on grand gestures, their love is shown through the little things: remembering each other’s favorite foods, paying attention to small details, showing up when it matters, and supporting one another in everyday moments. Those subtle acts of care made their relationship feel authentic and deeply emotional.
The single-dad element also adds an extra layer of heart to the story. Seeing the softer, protective side of the hero and how the heroine fits into that part of his life made their connection even more meaningful. The dynamic between them is tender, playful, and full of chemistry, making it easy to root for them as they move from friendship into something much more.
The audiobook experience made the story even better. The duet narration by Megan Wicks and Jason Clarke was absolutely fantastic, and I was completely hooked. Their performances brought so much personality and emotion to the characters. Jason Clarke captured the hero’s warmth and devotion perfectly, while Megan Wicks delivered the heroine’s feelings and vulnerability beautifully. The duet style made the conversations feel natural and immersive, pulling me even deeper into the story.
Overall, this was such a cute, comforting romance filled with heart, chemistry, and those small, meaningful moments that make a love story truly special. I couldn’t stop listening and found myself smiling through so many scenes.
Kat Singleton has converted me into a friends-to-lovers believer. I usually gravitate toward enemies-to-lovers, but this one reminded me just how much a true friendship foundation can really deliver all the feels, especially those moments when it slowly turns into something more. Swoon!
Charlotte & Jude already have this effortless dynamic from the start. Their relationship is built on a year of friendship, inside jokes, flirting, & quietly showing up for each other. It’s the kind of connection where the love is in the small things: remembering details, paying attention, stepping in when the other person needs support. Watching that friendship gradually shift into deeper feelings felt incredibly natural & honestly so satisfying.
And the slow burn? Painfully good. These two dance around their feelings for so long that the tension is almost unbearable. But when it finally breaks… it really breaks. The payoff is absolutely worth the wait, & Kat Singleton delivers five straight chapters of spice that feel both explosive & deeply emotional after all that build-up.
Jude’s surprise journey into fatherhood adds so much heart to the story. Seeing this confident, slightly chaotic billionaire suddenly trying to figure out life with a baby brings out such a soft side of him, & the way Charlotte steps in to help creates this accidental little family that completely melted me.
If you're an audiobook fan, do not sleep on the duet narration by Jason Clarke & Megan Wicks! It was phenomenal. They absolutely nailed the emotional beats, the tension, & the chemistry between these characters.
This one is warm, swoony, & packed with that quiet emotional intimacy that makes friends-to-lovers so special. By the end, I was completely wrapped up in Jude, Charlotte, & their little world, & honestly didn’t want to leave. Kat... when are we returning to Pembroke???
💕 Friends to Lovers ❣️ Surprised Single Dad 💸 Billionaire 🏡 Forced Proximity 💋 Reformed Playboy 💘 Age Gap 🔥 Slow Burn ✌🏻 Dual POV in Duet Narration
📚 More than Friends by Kat Singleton Series: Pembroke Hills #3 🎧 Narrated by Megan Wicks and Jason Clarke Genre: Contemporary romance Vibes: single dad surprise, friends to lovers, forced proximity, billionaire charm, soft domestic moments
Sometimes the one person you swore was just a friend ends up being the one you cannot stop thinking about.
Jude Kensington has always been the charming playboy of Pembroke Hills Country Club. Billionaire. Flirt. The last man anyone would expect to suddenly be learning how to raise a baby.
Then life throws him a surprise.
A baby. His baby.
And suddenly everything changes.
What makes this story so fun and emotional:
👶 A surprise single dad learning how to navigate fatherhood 🏡 Forced proximity when two friends become accidental roommates 💖 Friends to lovers tension that slowly builds 🔥 A kiss from the past neither of them can forget 🥹 Soft domestic moments that make the fake arrangement feel very real
Charlotte never expected to spend the summer living with Jude. But when she needs a place to stay and he needs help figuring out fatherhood, the solution seems simple.
She helps him with the baby. He gives her a place to live.
Temporary. Easy. Totally platonic.
Except nothing about living together actually feels simple.
Not when she is rocking his daughter to sleep. Not when Jude starts looking at her like she might be something more. And definitely not when the memory of that one kiss refuses to stay in the past.
If you love:
👶 Single dad romances 💞 Friends to lovers stories 🏡 Forced proximity ✨ Soft domestic moments mixed with tension
this one absolutely delivers those cozy romantic vibes.
And Jude as a single dad? Instant swoon.
💬 What is your favorite romance trope: friends to lovers or single dad romance?
Jude Kensington is not only a single dad, he wears glasses… and the mouth on this man — ladies, OMFG.
First of all, his charm does not work on his best friend Charlotte, and she calls him out on everything, which had me laughing the entire time.
“Your charm doesn’t work on me, Jude. Stop wasting your lines on me.” “Nothing with you is ever a waste.”
Like… HELLO???
Some moments that absolutely wrecked me:
His laptop screen is a photo of him, Charlotte, and his daughter 🥹 He always calls them “my girls.” The tension between these two? INSANE. The slow burn, the banter, the steam I was living for it.
Charlotte and Jude are honestly so damn cute. Char is a bar cart girl with big dreams for her future, while Jude is the rich, charming member of the club (yes… he golfs too). And from the start, it feels like Jude has wanted her forever. I love a man who knows what he wants and goes after it.
Charlotte, on the other hand, tries to keep things strictly friendship. She cares about him deeply but doesn’t want to risk what they have. And honestly… I get it.
But when this man showed up in glasses, grey sweats, holding a baby… I would have folded immediately. I was literally begging Charlotte to give in already.
The wait felt like forever, but the payoff? SO worth it. IYKYK.
The way Jude loves her absolutely destroyed me. I could have easily read another 200 pages of these two.
And his line at the end??? I melted. “She’s my best friend, my love, my whole world.”
More Than Friends was truly such an emotional, addictive read. I was completely invested from beginning to end. Kat Singleton honestly keeps raising the bar with every book she writes, and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next in Pembroke.
“I want to ruin her for anyone else the way she’s ruined me.”
If you love friends to lovers, single dad romances, slow burn tension, and the sweetest found-family vibes, this one is absolutely for you. 💫📚

Falling for Jude was never part of the deal. But the longer we play house, the harder it is to pretend I don’t want to be more than friends…
My Thoughts: I will forever be in my Pembroke Hills Era, and with each book Kat has me falling further in love with this crew!
Jude and Charlotte’s story had me laughing, swooning, and all things giddy AF as I watched these two journey from friends to lovers in the most perfect and natural fashion. And then add in sweet little Ava! She was the icing on the cake that had my heart about to explode. Kat brought ALL the feels and that good spice we know, love, and crave.
What I loved: 💜 Friends To Lovers 💚 Billionaire 💜 Reformed Playboy 💚 Single Dad 💜 Age Gap 💚 He Wears SLG
I had the pleasure of smooshing (I think the technical term is immersing) myself between the digital and audio formats and GAH it was an absolute delight. The duet narration of Megan Wicks and Jason Clarke was AH-mazing. They were pure perfection to bring Kat’s words to life. If you’re an audio fan I highly recommend. Even better.. smoosh yourself between both.
Thank you SO much Kat Singleton and Team Kat for the opportunity be an early reader and for the amazing book mail.
If you had asked me to rate friends to lovers, as a trope, I probably wouldn't have listed it super high. I'm more of a hate to love/enemies to lovers kind of gal... UNTIL NOW!!! Ugh, this friends to lovers story just roped me in from the first moment. The caring nature between Charlotte and Jude was just like a fairy tale. My complaint is that it just gave me unrealistic goals when it comes to romance in my real life!!
FMC Charlotte moved to the Hamptons from Arizona just over a year ago to work at the country club, Pembroke Hills, so she could save up for her real dream of owning a photography studio in the Hamptons. Through friends that she met there, she meets country club member, Jude Kensington. Since Jude is a bit of a playboy, anything romantic is out of the question but the two become close friends. Although there has been flirting during this year-long friendship, they have both set pretty clear boundaries and kept each other in the friend-zone!!
But, as they both have come to realize that maybe, there could be more, Jude's life changes in an instant when his baby daughter, that he didn't know even existed, is dropped off on his doorstep! When Charlotte steps in to help out, the complications soon pop up for the two of them and push their romantic feelings for one another to the background... for a moment.
I just love the way these two interact with one another and how their love shows in the way they treat each other on a daily basis. Just through their small actions each day, remembering each other's favorite things, remembering little details about one another, etc. they showed how much they truly loved one another... it doesn't have to be about the huge declarations and extravagant gifts. OBSESSED!!!
And Jude's "slutty little glasses"... SWOON!!!
I love this whole series... and the Blacktie Billionaire series before it.
