This was the perfect novella for the Broken Series by Ker Dukey. If you haven’t read them, well what are you waiting for? The Broken was my first book by Ker, and she got me hook line and sinker. She’s got the mind of a dirty, kinky, badass and I heart the hell out of her!

This is Mikey’s story, which I’ve been dying for, and he’s grown into the tall, dark, and sexy man I always knew he’d be. Like his parents, Sammy and River, his life wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but he’s done well for himself. He’s a hot mechanic; with his pick of women, and boy does he have an appetite. Now he’s smack dab in the middle of drama, and her name is Arya. She’s the daughter of Jasper, Derek, and Kyra, and she’s a little spit fire, which is no surprise.

Arya has always loved Mikey, but he sees them as family, and has never wanted to venture over that line. His heart and head are at war, and Arya isn’t helping matters, with all her sexy distractions. A girl can only take so much rejection before she explodes, and we see her come to her limits with him. I love this family and the struggles and triumphs they’ve gone through, and you want them all to get there happily ever after, and seeing Mikey divided in two sucks. I only hope he chooses with his heart, because that boy deserves to be happy!

Wow what a great Novella to The Broken series

This book is the story of Mikey...Sammy and River's son all grown up
I love all Ker's books and have grown to love Sammy, River, Jasper Kyra and Derek and all the gang

What happens when Mikey has feelings for a girl he thinks he shouldn't be having feelings for because he thinks of her as family as they have grown up together as cousins, Arya she is Jasper Derek and Kyra daughter, they are not related by blood
But Mikey can't get it out of his head that they are family no matter what.
Mikey try's his best to stay away no matter how much Arya makes it clear she wants him.
But how much before Arya says enough is enough and moves on?
Will she?
Will they have their HEA well you will have to read to find out?
If you loved The Broken and The Broken parts of us you really don't want to miss this one The Broken Tethers That Bind Us.

Hot in some places loved every minute of the book
It was great to hear from the characters again sure have missed them and I really can't wait for more and this book definitely leaves you wanting more …..

I was so glad when I read that Ker Dukey was going to give us more into this fantastic series. The Broken Tethers That Bind Us is a novella that gives us more Sammy River Jasper Derek and Kyra and also introduces us to their very grown up children.
The Broken Tethers That Bind Us is a novella about finding your fate in the person who you were raised to love like family. There is no Taboo here! This story is such a great love story it is filled with tension and agonizing guilt but in the end you find yourself cheering for Love and who destiny has decided were made for one another! I couldn't put it down! I love the Broken Series and this novella just confirms it!! The Broken Series has made me a fan for life of Ker Dukey! Love all her books. *Hoping this series continues forever!!

I just love this series.

Ker can write a dang phone book and i would read it.

This was a fantastic novella.

I read it in a very short time.

I want to know whose story will be next because it left us with not really a cliffhanger but more of a crap load of questions.
I really need to read Terrie's story.

Ow and The twins?

That one will be a heart breaker I am sure.

So for now I will just wait.

This story revolves around a Mikey, (Michael) River and Sammy’s oldest son who is now in his early twenties.

The first part of this novella centres around his confused feelings for Arya, who is the daughter of Krya and Jasper (also Derek because of the whole polyamorous thing, but Jasper is the bio, Dad)

She is very up front about the way she feels towards him. Feelings she’s been harbouring most of her life.

He, is more cautious, even though he is also attracted to her.
Reason?

Their parents: he feels will flip their s**t. PLUS! Arya’s has not one, but two super controlling Dads that, he feels will totally lose it.

Turns out, this “family” dynamic is:

River, Sammy Mikey, Myra, Braydon

And their good friends (family)

Jasper,Derek, Kyra, Arya, DJ, twins Sophie & Quinn

Are all getting alone SO WELL so much so, their kids are sleeping with each other AND anyone else that seems to cross their path.

Yep! Looking at you DJ and Braydon.

The last few chapters in this book, give us an insight into just how much these kids LOVE a bit of extra circular activity *Wink* AND the damage and heartache they’re in for...

I guess all’s fair in love and over sexed teens with no inhibitions.

Yea go one click those now and then pick up TBTTBU! Fans of Ker's series will remember Mikey. Sammy and River's son. Ugh, all I keep thinking about was the scene at the end of the Broken, if you've read it, you know the one, so flipping freaky!!

ANYWAYS!! He's all grown up now. All man, tall, dark and handsome. Works on American muscle cars (there's just something about a man who works with his hands, can I get an AMEN??!!). Well, Arya is giving me an Amen and she's after what she wants. Normally, Mikey would have no issue with giving a girl what she want, but there's one problem. Arya is the daughter of Jasper, Dereka and Kyra. Not biologically related, but raised as cousins, Mikey can't get over the the family aspect. Arya lets him know, time and time again, how much she wants him, but Mikey keeps turning her down. I feel for the girl, I really do!! But Arya can only take so much rejection before she moves on. What will Mikey do then? He's obviously attracted to her, but he keeps fighting it.

I <3 Ker Dukey!! Absolutely phenomenal writer. Now fans of the Broken and The Broken Parts of Us, know that the plots were a little heavy. Sammy, River, Jasper, Derek and Kyra were dealing with some pretty serious situations that personally left me saying OMG, a lot. The Broken Tethers That Bind Us didn't deal with that kind of heavy subject matter. While I was still saying OMG, it was mostly due to some pretty hot scenes and frustration for Arya! I won't say much regarding specific plot points, but let's just say Ker does an amazing job at setting us up for the next book in the series. I highly recommend you pick up The Broken Tethers That Bind Us. 4.5 stars from me!!!

This novella is captivating from the first chapter, following the children featured in previous novels, it's a cleverly written catch up in the series that also holds the promise of many more stories yet to be told.

Awakened feelings, doubts,mistrust, realisation and acceptance are all part of the journey in this fast paced read. Is it wrong go fall in love with someone you grew up with? Will both your families understand or will they feel you have let them down? It feels so wrong but can it be right? This moral dilemma is faced by the gorgeous and sexy mechanic Mikey who finds Arya seductive and alluring. After many years of seeing her as a little sister her lithe toned body and sexy twinkle in her eye is suddenly hard to resist!

Arya knows what she wants and everything else be damned...she grew up loving him and has never felt the need to hide her love from anyone. Arya is beautiful, graceful and self confident. She goes after her man with the intention of winning but love never runs smoothly....

The Broken Tethers that Binds Us is a well written 5 star novella that leaves you ready for more. It revisits all the characters and feels like a catch up over coffee amongst friends. An ideal read on a rainy afternoon to brighten the day and put a smile on your lips.

It's no secret that the Broken series is my all time favorite series of Ker Dukey's.

This book only solidifies my love for this series.

I love each and everyone of the characters in the Broken series and now in this third book we get to meet the kids all grown up and full of hormones.

You can't help who you fall in love with even if you try and fight the situation from happening.
If you are ment to be together the outcome is inevitable and mikey's story is no exception.

Love is never easy you only have to look back at Sammy and River's story and the situations their love had to go through.

Love is never conventional you only have to look back to Jasper, Derek and Kyra's relationship theres nothing conventional about their relationship but just because of peoples jaded views on it doesn't stop them from loving each other.

I can't wait for everyone to read this book, i believe if you love the Broken series as much as me then this will be the icing on the cake for you.

This was the best present Ker could have given me, i absolutely can't wait to get this paperback to complete my collection.

What can I say I just love Ker Dukey books.

This is a wonderful story of Sammy and Kendals son Mikey and Jaspers daughter Ayra.
I loved this book as I love all of Ker Dukeys books.

This is a love story about two people who was more family then friends but you cant help who you fall in love with.

I hope there will be more from this series if so I cant wait.

I think I liked this book a bit more than book 1 and 2 but I couldn't really wrap my head around all the kids liking the other kids so it wasn't the best. Sure it's cute but no one is branching out and moving on. The families are staying together. It was a nice, crazy read. Seeing how protective the brothers are of the girls made me smile.

This book focuses in Mickey and Arya.
“Your brother’s finally home, come show him some love!” Jasp calls to everyone. That is how it as always been with us. Ever since I was six years old and Mom had Mya, a few months later Aunty Ky gave birth to Arya and then a year later Mom gave us Blaydon and Kyra gave us DJ. Mom and Dad stopped there but Uncle Derek, Uncle Jasper and Aunt Kyra were on a mission to breed an army. Bringing our family to a whole with twins Quinn and Sophia. We were all close, brought up with each other like siblings and I loved each one of them. It wasn’t until Arya hit seventeen that I noticed her eyes lingering a little too long on me, her giggles a little too enthusiastic. She was an incredibly beautiful girl, deep red hair like her Mom’s and startling blue eyes like her Dads, Jasper. She had been raised dancing from the tender age of three and was toned and gorgeous but she was Uncle Jasper’s kid, raised with the title of cousin but brought up like a sister. It was just impossible despite our age gap. Our families would in no way understand. Not that I wanted anything from her then, she was seventeen and I was a twenty three year old, fresh out of college, racing for fun, fixing up muscle cars and paid to do so. I had a different woman every night of the week. I was living my dream life. My cousin’s crush was normal, she was seventeen, she would grow out of it I kept telling myself until instead of growing out of it, she captivated me into reciprocating it.”

Arya is in love with Mickey and has tried everything to get her attention but he rejects her again and again .
“I am twenty six years old and have only been away on extended vacation. Being away for the last three months to our lake house was the best decision for me at the time but I was glad to be home. I tried really hard over the three months, convincing myself it was the right decision, leaving like I did but trying to make my head play ball with my heart or cock was like asking the sun not to rise… it wasn’t happening. The reason I went away was probably inside with everyone else and seeing her was going to be the biggest test I’ve ever had to sit through.”

He even encourages her to go out with other boys to see if she forgets him, although he also feels something for her, but he is afraid of hurting the rest of the family so he try to get away from her, although it is increasingly difficult to resist the temptation.
“She smelled so sweet like she’d been dipped in candy, tempting me to coat my tongue in all that sugar.”
“I want her and that want has grown, manifested and owned me but I lock it behind easy lays, work and booze. Men are the weaker sex, it was a fact.”“You want me, Mikey. Why not let yourself have me. You can use me, just don’t refuse me.”

When they finally spend the night together, she tells him the next morning that she is moving to NY.
“After finally seeing the light and letting myself be with her for the night I fell more in love with her then I knew was even possible.”
“Miss the taste I left in your mouth already?” she asks in a husky whisper. This girl was going to kill me, there was no doubt about it.

“I’m thinking that I fought your advances because I knew if I let myself fall for you, I’d never recover if we couldn’t be together.” I lift her hand to my lips, kissing her palm. “I never want to be without you. You woke me from a slumber, made me see you in all your glorious color, it’s always been you. It will always only ever be you.”

As a bonus very hot scenes: Sammy and River/ Jasper, Derek,Kira in the shower. After more than 2 decades together, passion and desire are still alive in these couples.

And more drama and more naughty things awaits us with this second generation:
Mya is in love with Adam, Mickey´s best friend and Terri’s boyfriend.
DJ in love with her one girl and expecting a child with Terri after a drunk night of passion,which he barely remembers.
Blaydon having sex with the twins without them knowing,only Jasper suspect.

Sammy and River's son Mikey is all grown up as is Jasper, Derek and Kyra's daughter Ayra. Ayra is starting to throw herself at Mikey, who feels like he can never go there because they were raised as family and he doesn't think his parents or Ayra's would approve. Also, he is about 6 years older than she is.

Things heat up and they can't stay away from each other. The secret is out and it is surprising who has a problem with the relationship. It also sets up the next novella in the series about Blaydon and the twins.

Let me just start out by saying that I loved The Broken (B#1) and The Broken Parts of Us (B#2). When I saw that there was a 2.5 coming out I was so excited and couldn't wait to get my hands on it! And because I am a major fan of anything Ker Dukey, I had no other option then to devour this ARC the minute it hit my Kindle! It was a short and sweet read that I didn't want to put down. I read it in one sitting!

I liked reading this story and seeing how the characters from the first 2 books have grown up and are now playing the roles as parents. It was nice seeing them older and remembering back on their own individual stories. You meet Michael (Mikey) in The Broken and you get to read about him as a little boy in The Broken Parts of Us, and now he has grown up and has his own story. And let me tell you, Mickey has turned out to be one handsome man! I liked everything about him. His dirty words along with his dirty thoughts that have a hint of humor to them...

The twist and turns that go on in The Broken Tethers That Bind Us pull you in all kinds of different ways. You meet more characters that are all entwined into this family and all have their roles in each others lives. I loved the way Ker Dukey ended the story in multiple POV's. It left me hanging on every character, wanting to see the twist and turns that are soon to follow. I am definitely looking forward to seeing which character will be in her next story, and I will always be waiting for my next Ker Dukey fix! There's not another better way to describe this family other than saying....

This is a novella for The Broken series! If you haven't already read the first two books I suggest you do that before reading this! I loved the first two books in this series, so I was really excited to read more of my favourite characters!

This novella is based on the lives of the 'Broken' children- River, Sammy, Derek, Jasper and Kyra's kids. We still get to hear from the original characters which is a huge bonus! Told from River and Sammys son Mikey's point of view The Broken Tethers That Bind tells Mikey's story of loving someone he feels he can never be with! Arts is Derek, Jasper and Kyra's daughter and has also been in love with Mikey for years!

Poor Mikey knows it's wrong to feel how he does for Arya, they've been brought up together as family. She's like a sister or a cousin to him. He does all he can to fight the attraction even going as far as pushing her toward the arms of another man! This was so frustrating to read as they love each other so much! Can true love win out in the end and will the two families be accepting of their love? You need to read to find out!

I'm hoping we'll hear more from the Broken series as Ker seems to have left the rest of the kids lives open for more stories! This was an excellent read! Sometimes I feel novellas are too short, but this was just right for me! Loved this story! Highly recommended read 5 stars!

I love love love Ker Dukey and she has yet to disappoint! This novella is a follow up to The Broke and The Broken Parts of Us. If you haven't ready these books first you won't be able to properly appreciate this novella. It was so awesome to be able to catch up with the characters we fell in love with in the first 2 books and see where they are in life now. Sammy & River's son Mikey is in love with Jasper, Derrick & Kyra's daughter Arya. But he doesn't want to admit it! Arya doesn't hide her feelings but Mikey is convinced that having a relationship with Arya will cause problems because they are already like family. This book was hot and intense as usual for Ker Dukey. I particularly enjoyed having the kids POV, not many authors give you that chance.

I absolutely loved this book. Not only do I love Ker’s books, but this one didn’t disappoint me either. I knew that this would be a great book and I am glad that I got a chance to read it. This is Mickey’s Story and his battle on whether to stay away from Arya or give in to her. Will it be too late when Mickey finally gives in? How long will Arya wait for her man to come to her? Highly recommend this book it will not disappoint and will draw you in from the beginning.

I'm a huge fan of Ker Dukey's work. When I read her first book.. Broken. I was speechless. Then I read The Broken Parts of Us and was amazed. The Broken Tethers That Bind Us was an unexpected treat. She keeps these little numbers hidden and then surprises us each chance she gets.

The this little novella takes place years after the first two. Children grown up and starting relationships of their own. We see Mickey all grown up (the story is in primarily in his POV BTW). His struggle with what he feels and what he thinks is right is very evident. He's not sure what to do when the person he's grown up with as a cousin/sister starts showing an interest. With an age gap of several years, he's puts a stop to her advances.... but as she gets older it gets harder and harder to resist. So he thinks that by setting her up with someone, she'll move on and their family dynamic will remain as it always has. Unfortunately, she's already gotten under his skin and it's not looking so good for him. He has to worry about breaking her heart versus how their parents will react and he's at a loss of what to do.

This was a wonderfully short novella that gives us some closure to the characters we fell in love with in the previous books. It was great to see the children grown up and their individual personalities as well has seeing how the parents' relationships are enduring over the years after what they went through to be together. Their love and their stories gives their children an example of the type of love they want in their lives.

Kuddos to you Ker Dukey for surprising us with this little treat. I'm still in love with Jasper and I'm just happy to know that Kyra and Derek are still keeping him happy with their little family. Sammie and River's story was one I'll never forget and it was wonderful to see their love was just as intense now as it was in the beginning. Their children finding love is an added bonus.

Wow, There is so much packed into this short novella I wish it could have been a full lengh book.
I have loved the Broken series so far and was very glad to see the reappearance of some of my favorite characters. I adore all these characters but I have always had a soft spot for Derek. I love my Derek, he will always be my favorite.
He is the well dressed perfect gentleman on the outside, but cross him and he is dark, deadly and ruthless. I loved seeing him as the over-protective daddy. Ready to shoot the guy who messes with his baby girl. I fell in love with him all over again.

In this latest installment Derek, Kyra & Jasper are still going strong, as are Sammy & River. They all have children.
This is Mikey's story, his all grown up and has it easy with the girls, just like his dad.
It's the lives of the children all becoming intertwined that complicates things for everyone. All the kids are very close, having been brought up as 1 big happy family.
Derek, Kyra & Jasper have 4 children so far, with Kyra wanting more and Sammy & River are happy with their 3 children.

Arya, Derek, Kyra & Jasper's daughter has a secret, she's been hopelessly in love with Mikey, Sammy & River's eldest son, for as long as she can remember. Mikey See's them both as family as thats the way they were raised and Arya makes it known that he is the 1 she wants. Is there a line to be crossed, after all they are not actually related, Does Mikey goes with his head or listen to his heart?
All the children have secrets of their own which they are hiding from each other as well as their parents. What is going to happen when it all comes out because the truth finds a way in the end...
I loved this action packed broken adventrue and can not wait for the next installment Ker I need more like yesterday

I cant even tell you how much I love this Novella
I was beyond excited when I heard that we were getting more from this series.
Im not usually one that goes for reading about the grown up children of characters i love so much .... i cant think of my favorite characters as old enough to have grown children, but Ker changed that for me. She has written some exceptional characters, some wonderful grown children of some wonderful characters and it didnt take away from the original characters. It just made me love them more.
The love story created here is just amazing. To learn how to love someone with your whole heart and soul, someone you were conditioned all your life to love like a sister/brother, WOW !!! just wow ....
to break someones heart over and over again, while breaking your own heart, and to overcome that life long conditioning and love openly and forever. Ker has again amazed me with her talented pen and mind.
This is one of my favorite series and i am so happy to have more from these two families that are one
the grammar is amazing as well as the spelling and the story is just way more than i ever thought possible on a storyline i never thought i'd even want to read.
Ker knocks me senseless yet again with everything she puts into everything she writes.
I absolutely adore this novella and i really cant wait for more. There is absolutely more going on with these families and i want to be right there sharing it all with them

If you’re a fan of The Broken Series, you will love this book. It’s a short read but so good!!

This novella runs alongside the Broken Series, and I do recommend that your read the other books first.

Mikey is Sammy and Rivers son. Kyra is Jasper and Derek’s daughter. They were raised together as family, grew up together, played together, looked out for each other but now they are grown up. So what happens when you are brought up to feel one way but your heart is feeling something else?
Kyra loves Mikey; she can’t hide her feelings for him, he knows she has a crush on him and he tries to put her off by pushing her away at every opportunity. He just can’t go there…the family would go mad if there were anything ever between them, so he breaks her heart over and over again to keep her at arm’s length which he hates. He tries to drive her toward other men hoping she will move on, boasts of his many conquests with women knowing it breaks Kyra’s heart. He sees the hurt on her face and it kills him knowing he’s responsible. But how long can he keep away from her, how long can he deny his real feelings for her, and what happens when he does?

This novella is a quick, fast paced easy read which I really enjoyed. It was great to see all the characters and see what was going on in their lives too!!

Have you read The Broken series by Ker Dukey yet? I hope so, if you've made it this far! If not get that one click finger into action and grab The Broken and The Broken Parts of Us and prepare for an emotional roller coaster ride and for multiple panty changes!

This novella was a perfect morsel to get us back to some of our favorite characters. The novella introduces us to the children of River, Sammy, Jasper, Derek, and Kyra.

I love how the kids turned out! They are fun and different and WILD! I loved every minute! In true Ker fashion, it's a great erotic story with the perfect amount of twists. She has once again given me an ending that left me craving more with a huge smile on my face.

With so many more stories to tell I can't wait to see what's next! (Although I do have a special love for Terrie ☺ )

This book is the story of Mikey...Sammy and River's son whose an adult now, remember Mikey, from the end of The Broken? That young boy is all grown up now and one hell of a hot mechanic with a penchant for the ladies.

What happens when Mikey has feelings for a girl he thinks he shouldn't be having feelings for because he thinks of her as family?
The girl in question is Arya, she is Jasper, Derek and Kyra's daughter. Even though they are not related by blood Mikey can't get it out of his head that they are family no matter what.
Mikey tries his best to stay away no matter how much Arya makes it clear she wants him.
But how much before Arya says enough is enough and moves on? There is only so much rejection a person can take and Arya is not one meek and mild lady, she a fiery redhead who knows her own mind.

Will she walk away once and for all and if she does what will Mikey do about it or are some tethers there to bind us even though we do our best to fight against them we're unable to ever fully get free?

This novella was a great way to catch up with the previous characters again and I really can't wait for more as this novella leaves the way clear for more from this great series.
