Super simple text (like 2 words a spread) showing how a seed is planted and grows and then is harvested. A decent read aloud if you want to embellish a lot, but it's also a very small book and not great for a group to all see at once.
Make sure you include exploration of the end pages in your reading of this book. And I like how it loops. The action in the last page spread loops you back to the beginning of the story and how the process repeats season after season.
A cute, short tale of blooming flowers. With only a few words on each page, this story shows how one seed can plant a flower, and multiple seeds, a garden. The descriptive words and illustrations (and a few rhymes) kept it interesting. At the end of the story, when "one little seed is picked", children are encouraged to tie the seed to the flower, and think about how the seed is planted at the beginning. I would recommend this book to young children-about age 4 or 5.
I don't find this book too enjoyable and don't perceive too many children enjoying it. The book uses some words that I don't even know what they mean unless I look at the picture. I wouldn't recommend this book.
A story of planting "One Little seed," the care and the harvesting of "One Little seed." (To be a little nit-picky, more than one plant is shown.) However, this is a nice simple story for all the gardening programs for summer reading, etc.
small and quick read. this is a full circle tale about how one tiny seed grows to become a big sunflower...full of more seeds to then plant just one and start the cycle all over again
