I just finished this set. I reviewed each book separately on it's on page, but will copy them here.
Each book in this series rating goes up as the series goes on. They just keep getting better!!!
Book #1
Fighting for Flight
3.5 Stars
The things I really liked:
The prologue sucked me in right away.
I prefer books with Dual POV, and this one had it.
The sex scenes were HOT
Raven was super cute and lovable, but just hadn't found her real place in the world yet. She was still very young, just 20. Looking for anyone to love her, besides her boss and her BFF.
Jonah is a fighter and mega alpha male. He is a sweet mama’s boy but a total man whore. He never had sex with the same girl twice and had never been in love.
They both have issues from childhood, and learn to lean on each other.
Yes, it is one of those "InstaLove" books. And I usually can't stand the "I love you" within a week of meeting each other, and maybe that's why I couldn't get behind it completely or give it a higher rating.
A few spelling and grammar errors that could be fixed as well. Overall I liked it and will continue on with the series.
Book# 2
Fighting to Forgive
4.5 Stars
What I really Liked:
Dual POV
Shocking Twists
Two broken individual who are completely drawn to each other.
The sex scenes were great
Prefect HEA
Blake is my favorite in the series so far.
I have to start by saying, I love Blake. He is hilarious in the most inappropriate ways- and I love it. He had me laughing in book 1, but book 2 was even better. In real life we would be friends, because his dirty mind is hilarious.
About the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the book chronicles their snarky love/hate relationship. Little by little, their friendship grows into more and both of them have to overcome their pasts in order to move forward together. They finally open up about their pasts and things really start getting good. The intimacy between these two was the best. Blake was so very patient and sweet.
It kept my attention right to the very end. I stayed up way to late reading, because I couldn't put it down.
Book #3
Fighting for Forget
5 stars.
This story line is not for the faint of heart. Fighting to Forget deals with childhood molestation/rape and other forms of child abuse. But the real story is about the power of love and how that can heal you. It is a beautifully written book that once you start you can't put down because it hooks you, right from the beginning.
Rex and Mac/Gia's story was so emotional with what starts as childhood love and becomes so much more. We learn about their horrible childhoods (although they suffer very different forms of child abuse) and how they became the very broken adults they now are. They fight hard everyday to just be normal, going through so much pain dealing with their pasts. This book will tear your heart out. You will feel anger, betrayal, compassion, love, and finally hope. It's an extremely ugly story written beautifully.
I also loved all the song verses in the beginning of each chapter. It made me feel like I got to know Rex and Mac just a little bit better.
Each book in this series just gets better and better. I can't wait for the next one. (although I need to wait a day or two before starting so I can catch up on the sleep I missed while reading these)
