The Dance for You
I thought I had my life planned out - working alongside my boyfriend, supporting my best friend as she launched her business, and dreaming of the day when I would be able to be home with a growing family. But all of that came crashing down in a series of broken promises, shifting dynamics, and dreams shattered one doctor’s appointment at a time. My dream of a life of stability and family became a figment of my imagination.
Now I have to decide what I actually want. And if it’s what I want to fight for. Starting over at thirty wasn’t in my original plan. But finding myself, my passions, and my joy is a plan I am ready to see through. And having someone new by my side to help me do just that is the beginning of our new happily ever after.
The Dance for You follows Kylie’s story as she redefines her version of family and passions as she finds new hobbies, interests, and yes, a new partner too.

The Dance for You was a sweet and emotional read about starting over and finding joy after everything falls apart. I really loved the message of rediscovery and how Kylie slowly begins to rebuild her life on her own terms. Some parts felt a little slow or predictable, but the heart of the story still came through. It was honest, tender, and had some truly beautiful moments. A solid 3 stars, and I’d be open to reading more from Nikki Grant in the future.

This book was so emotional.
I have never read a book that is so close to my own life. Living with PCOS is so hard and to struggle through it can be tough sometimes.
Nikki wrote that part so well. I could relate the the FMC and feel the pain she was feeling.
It was nice to see the FMC grow and come into who they are as a person.
I also loved that nothing was held back by PCOS. The pain, physical and mental, was there but the journey for her to move forward was just so real.
There were no fake expectations. No fake outcomes. No lies about what women go through with PCOS.
Now, when I said the book was emotional I didn't just mean reading something that I can relate to.
Oh, no no. There were parts where I wanted to jump into the book a punch a certain fictional character in the face 🤣
I sat here reading, all giddy one moment, and the next was me yelling "Are you fcking kidding me?"
Not in a bad way to the author, because she 100% wrote this so well. She made me hate a character so fast, I got whiplash.
The book was somehow slow and fast at the same time.
I absolutely loved the story and love how it continues and sets up for the other books in this series.

The Dance For You by Nikki Grant had me in all kinds of emotional turmoil. It was like a tale of two books, the first half with Kylie and Carter, and then the second half with Kylie and Luca. The second half is way better, because Carter sucks. You get bad vibes from him, but man, if he doesn’t cover it well and say all the right things. He’s such a good d*uchecanoe and good at emotional manipulation. She deserves better, and thank the writing stars that Luca comes along. He literally never oversteps, but notices and just chooses to be a friend when he sees her at her worst. The author writes the intricacies of PCOS so well into the storyline that you’re emotionally holding Kylie’s hand through it all. A well-written story that made me hate and love people alike. Bravo!

I actually bought my copy from a library event and was able to meet the author beforehand. She did recommend this one from the series and I'm glad that she did. Although I'm not one for pure romance stories, but this one had enough drama to keep me turning the page.
It's a fast read, and although the plot is relatively straightforward, it does have it's comforting charm and likeable/relatable characters. It's a very down-to-earth narration with a main character who lets you tag along on some of the more rocky moments of relationships and womanhood. I appreciate the author portraying such a realistic and highly relatable story that most other authors might intensify or overindulge just to thicken the plot and raise the stakes. Rather, this story is fantastic for the readers who want a simple drama and romance with a heart-heavy character.
--SPOILERS--
Honestly, Kylie upset me at first with her unwillingness to stand up for herself. She let her emotions get the best of her quite often in the first half of the story, and while I completely understand that, it was a bit frustrating to watch her get pushed around and consistently abused by the very man she naively trusted for so many years. But her empowerment in the latter half really boosted her moment of reclamation, and I know Luca had a lot to do with that by how he reminded her of the worth that she deserves, but it was also that realization on her own when she was fired from the restaurant and was able to actually create her own business and show her true talent when I shared that moment of excitement with her. Plus, it was so fricken satisfying to see how she handled Carter's pathetic plea as well as the encounter they had at her performance. If there isn't already a perfect illustration to describe a toxic, small-minded man, Carter easily takes the cake.
The infertile plotline was an intense one, mostly because it really speaks volumes for those who have to quietly endure the same situation and oftentimes probably feel just as alone or looked down on because of it. The author's inclusion of this was handled powerfully and did well to have a male reader such as myself not only sympathize for Kylie but also educate me more on the additional complications and harsh reality of infertility.
I just have to say, Luca re-utilizing the pieces of the dresser to make those three special pieces for Kylie is a such a symbolic moment for her rebirth and how something broken can always be fixed for the better and still hold the important memories, a perfect message that I personally drew. I really appreciated that.
--END SPOILERS--
Overall, I think this is a good book for those looking for a simple read and want to be in touch with their emotions. It's not a groundbreaking story, but it does the job in telling a story that is not just realistic, but highly relatable.
Thank you for the fun and emotional ride, Nikki! And great artwork!

Thank you to Nikki Grant and Naughty Nook PR for the opportunity to read and review this book!
I swear, with each book in this series the books just get better and better. I loved The Funnel to You, and then LOVED the suspense aspect in The Man for You, but now...now I was just blown away by the raw emotional vulnerability in The Dance for You. Nikki warns you in the beginning that this is an emotional rollercoaster of a book, and she meant it for real.
One of my favorite things about this series so far is that with each new book, Nikki sheds light on some aspect of reality that isn't sweet and isn't pretty. Yes, these are romance books, but the characters aren't perfect. They struggle with mental and physical disorders that are very real and very devastating and difficult to live with. The representation is fantastic and something from this series that will stick with me.
Now, about this actual book in the series...lol
Kylie's story was rough. Not just because of the physical things she deals with, but with the emotional challenges as well. I knew what was coming and still audibly gasped and covered by mouth when it finally happened. Carter, the asswipe with the emotional range of a teaspoon, is honestly the kind of person that so many of us know and have dated. I swear, the amount of men that Carter represents is nauseating. But Luca, oh Luca is the type of man we all dream about and love to see in our romance novels.
Once again Nikki kills it with her writing style and how she writes her characters. Kylie had such a character development in this book. Side note...I LOVE to see that West Coast Swing played a big part in this book! I have danced most of my life, and did a lot of swing dancing in my early 20's, so this brought back a ton of awesome memories for me. I can't wait to see what Nikki comes up with next!

ARC READ💞💞💞. Thank you Nikki grant for this arc. Here is my review⬇️
Nikki Grant’s The Dance for You is a heartfelt exploration of resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative power of love. As the third installment in the Makeup and Mochas series, this novel delves deep into the emotional journey of Kylie, a woman navigating the aftermath of personal upheaval.
Kylie’s story is one of profound grief and change, yet it’s also about the positive transformation that can emerge from such loss. Readers witness her evolution from the depths of despair to a place of renewed purpose and joy. Her struggles, including dealing with PCOS, are portrayed with authenticity and sensitivity, making her journey all the more relatable.
The narrative doesn’t shy away from depicting the complexities of relationships. Kylie’s interactions with her long-term boyfriend, Carter, reveal a dynamic filled with red flags, leading readers to question the nature of love and self-worth. Enter Luca—a character who embodies kindness, thoughtfulness, and the kind of support Kylie truly deserves. Their budding relationship is a testament to the healing power of genuine connection.
What sets this novel apart is its commitment to representation. The inclusion of characters dealing with type 1 diabetes and autism is handled with care, offering readers a glimpse into experiences that are often underrepresented in literature. This, combined with the book’s emphasis on found family and personal growth, makes for a compelling read.
In essence, The Dance for You is more than just a romance; it’s a story about finding oneself amidst chaos and learning to dance again, even when the music changes.

After reading The Man For You, we were left with a cliffhanger that alluded to Kylie's story. The Dance For You definitely didn't disappoint.
The Dance For You left my heart shattered at certain points, specifically a turning point in the story where Kylie unknowingly walks into a situation that involves Carter; it left me angry for Kylie and made me want to whip my kindle across the room; there were a few giggles but I really fell in love with Luca (I truly find it hard not to fall in love with Nikki's characters lol) and his warmth and care for Kylie during a time when she really needed support.
As someone with PCOS, I appreciated that there was representation of a major character with this chronic disease. I completely understood the suffering that Kylie was going through and dealing with because I dealt with it as well (and still do in certain aspects). But in general, that's what I enjoy about Nikki's writing, there's always something that's relatable to a chronic illness that myself (and I'm sure most of us) deal with on a daily basis.
It was such a sweet story with minimal spice, but the major spicy scene, DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
I completely devoured this book in less than 48 hours and it left me wanting more Luca and Kylie! I would recommend reading the first two books as most of the characters from those two stories do pop up throughout the book (but if you haven't, that's okay too).
All in all, another great book by Nikki Grant and I can't wait to ready book 4!

Nikki Grant has absolutely outdone herself with The Dance for You. This book is a slow burn romance that simmers with tension, heartbreak, and, ultimately, healing. It's not just a love story—it's a story of rediscovery, of facing your demons, and of rediscovery of yourself while working through the pain. It's a deeply emotional journey about betrayal, resilience, and rediscovering joy after heartbreak.
Spoilers ahead!
Kylie is a beautifully complex lead. After discovering that her longtime boyfriend, Carter, cheated on her—not just emotionally but physically with someone from work—she's left devastated. Carter’s betrayal cuts even deeper because she so badly wants a child and he says he doesn't, only to find out later he is going to be a dad with the woman he betrayed Kylie with. Meanwhile, Kylie has found out that due to PCOS, she will not be able to have a child of her own.
Enter Luca. One of Matt's friends and woodworker. He recently started West Coast Swing dancing and has an attraction to Kylie, whom he calls his honeybee. Their partnership begins with hesitation, especially since Kylie is still nursing emotional wounds and struggling with trust. But Luca is patient, grounded, and attentive to Kylie. He worships her like Carter never did.
The book doesn’t shy away from the messy parts of rebuilding a life, and that made it all the more powerful.
This book is for anyone who’s ever had to start over, who’s learned to dance in the dark until they found the light again. Kylie and Luca’s story is unforgettable.

Wow, this book was emotional—there were moments that absolutely broke me, and others that slowly put me back together again. The Dance for You isn’t just a romance; it’s a journey through heartbreak, healing, and learning to find yourself, even when everything feels impossible.
Kylie, our FMC, is sweet, strong, and so incredibly relatable. I found myself rooting for her on every page. As someone whose best friend has PCOS, I was especially touched by how honestly and realistically the book portrayed this disease. My heart broke for Kylie and what she went through, but her resilience made me love her even more.
I also have to say, this book really surprised me in some aspects—and I mean pleasantly surprised! Without spoiling anything, there were moments I didn’t see coming that just made the story even more impactful.
Now, Carter... I was SO mad at him. Honestly, what he did is just unforgivable in my eyes. But then there’s Luca, and oh my god, I loved him. He’s the sweetest MMC—caring, gentle, and supportive in all the ways Kylie needed. Watching the way he loved and cared for her was truly beautiful.
Overall, this book is about more than just romance—it’s about healing, self-discovery, and finding hope even when life hurts. Highly recommend, especially if you want a romance that isn’t afraid to tackle real, difficult topics. Thank you for the ARC!

I was a little disappointed….I loved Kylie & Carter until I didn’t….well Kylie I do but Carter not so much….he was perfect until he wasn’t….then he was just frustrating….I think behind the scenes there was more going on with him that we don’t know about….but that’s neither here nor there….you can’t take back being a douche canoe to the one you supposably love & think thing will be ok
Kylie deserved so much more at the end of her first love story….Im glad she had so many awesome friends in her life to catch her when she fell….nothing like a complete rebrand at 30….I get it though….parts of her story were my story….we all think by 30 we should have life figured out….life doesn’t always work out like that
Then we have Luca…in a short period of time we really got to know him….some may say Luca was a lot like Carter in the beginning….that may be true but Luca was always consistent….you have to give him that much….he didn’t cross any lines no matter how bad he wanted to….he waited his turn….wish we could’ve said the same for others
This is the third book in the Makeup & Mochas series…each book can be read as a standalone….each book overlaps a little so it doesn’t take long to catch up
I’m ready for The Ride For You….I need to see what kind of trouble Tilly gets into…plus we always get a little more in each book of what is going on in past characters lives

I received this book as an advanced reader copy and here are my thoughts on the book.
If you didn't have emotional baggage going into this book , get ready because you're going to have some after reading this book. That's because the author Nikki Grant has an amazing way of writing that literally pulls you into the story. Our main character Kylie could literally be your next door neighbor or one of your friends.
You're taken on an emotional journey as Kylie battles her health issues and how her boyfriend Carter deals with all of that. I've always said that an illness will show you who truly loves you and who needs to exit your life. The author did such an amazing job connecting that concept into a story that is so relatable, honest and real.
My heart melted the minute Luca entered the picture. What a truly amazing character he was. The character was so genuine and compassionate. This home book had me in my feelings. I didn't know whether I needed a box of tissue or a sledge hammer. That's how I know a book is absolutely a five star read for me. I will 100% be reading more by this author.

Kiley thought she had met the man of her dreams and loved her life. Carter was someone she wanted to have kids with and loved working together and living life together. He starts to seem less interested in her life and passions as the his career in bars is getting busier. Their relationship is no longer passionate and when Carter mentions he isn’t interested in having children, Riley starts questioning everything. When Riley starts questioning what Carter is up to, he shuts her down and doesn’t help her with her interests. Luca happens to be there when Riley joins the swing dancing troop and even though they had met through friends and he was interested in Riley, he refused to do anything since she was in a relationship. As they start to dance and build a friendship, Luca is there for Riley in ways Carter never was and when Riley has the worst appointment and Carter doesn’t go with her, Luca is there for her when she finds out the truth with Carter. But will she get over Carter after all these years and be able to move on, will she see Luca as anything other than a friend?

The Dance For You is the 3rd book in the Make-Up and Mochas series but can be read as a standalone. This story follows Kylie and her journey through starting over, rediscovering herself, and accepting what life has to offer.
The story is so emotional and tackles the topic of PCOS and does it so well. It dives deep into the good, the bad, and the ugly of what it’s like to live with PCOS.
Kylie goes through some of her darkest times and at 30 has to figure out how to start over. How to find herself in this new life, a life different then she envisioned. Grab the tissues, Kylie had my heart breaking for her and so many ways.
However, Luca could not be more perfect for her. He was the perfect blend of what Kylie needed and I loved every single bit of it.
I just love this entire series. It just keeps getting better and better and I love all these characters that intertwine and mix and we get to see glimpses of each one throughout.

Kylie. My girl. Honeybee. My heart was shattered alongside yours and stitched together with every project you handled like the badass you are.
I was so excited to read The Dance For You and learn Kylie’s story and it did not disappoint. This series just keeps giving and I love it. I think at some point in our love lives, we’ve all gone through heartbreak and grief and seeing how Kylie handled things was refreshing.
Luca is the biggest sweetheart and that man is so far gone, he might even beat Matt in that category. I loved getting to know how he runs his business and creates so many incredible pieces.
Carter…. Well. I hope he has the life he deserves.
If you like books where she finds herself again, some pretty fun dancing classes, tea and aren’t afraid to get stung a few times (but only because you’re so sweet 😉) then definitely check out book three The Dance For You!
As always, double check the TW’s if you’re unsure. 💜
I was so excited to read The Dance For You and learn Kylie’s story and it did not disappoint. This series just keeps giving and I love it. I think at some point in our love lives, we’ve all gone through heartbreak and grief and seeing how Kylie handled things was refreshing.

This is the third book in the makeup and mochas series by Nikki Grant. This book is a bit shorter and more emotional than her previous books. Most of the book focuses on the relationship of the FMC and her long term boyfriend, this sets up the plot for seeing how the FMC comes into her own after the long term relationship and she finds herself again. I would only say I wish this part of the book was a bit longer I would have loved to focus on her re-growth and the build up of the relationship with the MMC a bit more then we focused on the heartbreak and breakdown. I would have loved to see a bit more of the relationship between the FMC and MMC after they got together. Overall it was a beautiful story with heartbreak, rebirth, and finding new love after betrayal. Nikki sent me this book as an ARC and this is my open and honest review.

There's so much I want to say about this book, but not enough words.
I related to this book, almost to every word. As someone with the same health issues as Kylie, the way Nikki Grant portrayed it was like reading my life on her pages. The emotional pull from me was absolutely wrecking, but in the best way because I didn't feel alone. I will admit, I was hesitant about reading this book because I haven't read any of the others in the series, but I will be be correcting that asap.
Luca, sweet Luca. He was heaven sent for Kylie and I'm glad this wasn't one of those books where you're basically saying, "You're an idiot," about the fmc. I loved how their relationship was naturally progressed and when they finally got together, Luca wasn't afraid to let her feel his love, show her off, and remind her shîtty ex what he let go.
5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2.5/5 🌶🌶½

4.5 stars rounded up.
This book took me through my emotions!! iI can't get over how quickly I went from giddy to angry while reading this. Nikki Grant does such a great job at writing a relatable female main character. Kylie could be every one of us, or one of our friends or family. She has some real-life problems, breakdowns, and amazing resolutions.
Luca is the man we all want in our lives (or at least I do). He reminded me so much of someone, down to the woodworking. I fully believe Luca was meant to find Kylie. I love his patience, humor, and drive.
Nikki Grant wrote a romance book, but this is so much more than that. This book is about rediscovering yourself, finding joy and falling in love with life, and listening to your heart.
Thank you, Nikki, for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Kylie's journey is a poignant blend of sorrow and transformation, showcasing the kind of positive change that often follows profound loss. As she navigates the aftermath of a life that has crumbled around her, we witness her grappling with the grief of not just a long-term relationship but also the dreams of a different future. From her lowest moments, Kylie rises to embrace her true self, exploring new ways to live and ultimately finding love again. Speaking of love, Luca is simply wonderful; I couldn't adore him more. The men in this series just keep getting better, and Luca is no exception—his kindness and intensity create a captivating balance. Nikki's writing continues to resonate deeply with me; she infuses each story with her essence, making every moment of Kylie's life feel incredibly real.

Kylie has what she thinks is a dream life. She has a longtime boyfriend, they live together, work together, and are planning to expand their family.
Her certainties collapse when all the balances they have always had begin to shift until they are finally destroyed.
In this journey of rebuilding herself Kylie finds a shoulder in Luke, what at first is a trusted friend who supports her and helps her pull herself out of a dark period and then becomes something more.
A gentle story that shows the willpower that very often we women have when we have to start from scratch and rebuild our lives.
I appreciated how until the very end Luke was respectful and never imposed himself as a substitute for her ex-boyfriend.

When the book started and Kylie was in a relationship, I was waiting for the shoe to drop. I didn’t expect her to catch her boyfriend cheating on her though! But that turned out to be the best thing for her because Kylie learned to live for herself for probably the first time in a while. She’d loved the idea of dancing and wound up taking lessons with a friend of Matt’s (the MMC in Book 1 of the series) named Luca. Luca felt a connection to Kylie from the moment they met previously at a party and watching them find their way from acquaintances to friends to lovers was absolutely amazing. I think this is my favorite book of the series!

Kylie and Carter have been dating for the past six years. Recently, troubles have surfaced as they realised that expectations are not met and they are unable to communicate well, unlike in the past.
When the relationship eventually sours, I loved that her found family was there to support her. Luca also finally gets a chance to show his true feelings for his “honeybee”.
Luca is an absolute cinnamon roll. He supports her dreams, he cares for her when she’s unwell and he truly pays attention to every detail she shares. His love for her is truly unconditional and I enjoyed their journey together, seeing him help her rebuild her confidence and learning to love herself for who she is.

This book was so emotional with a beautiful finish. Kylie's struggle with PCOS and infertility on top of the relationship challenges broke my heart. I could really feel the author's experience shine through this story.
Luca is absolutely so darling and a little cheesy in an adorable way. His deep level of care for Kylie was so lovely to read. I really couldn't put this one down.
I enjoyed the Book 2 but Nikki really hit a homer with The Dance for You.
I received this ARC in response for an honest review.

Check your triggers for sure. Although it’s not dark some of the PCOS rep stuff could be triggering for some. I love that there is a true rep for this because so many women experience it and don’t get diagnosed. This is Kylie’s story and it definitely had a plot twist I did not see coming from the other books. I don’t want to post spoilers but I love that she not only finds herself, her voice but also her happy ending.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My opinions are my own.

This is book 3 of the Makeup and Mochas series and did not disappoint! It can be read as a stand-alone book but I think it's best read as part of a series. Nikki Grant has an amazing ability to make her characters real with real-life issues. The struggles faced by Kylie in terms of her long term boyfriend and PCOS are things that many women have to deal with. Finding the ability to trust and love again is hard.

The Dance for You was a heart wrenching book that had me experiencing a range of emotions. The rage I felt for wanting to throttle Kylie’s boyfriend to depression from watching Kylie’s dream of having her own family quickly diminish. But towards the end, I watched Kylie find herself again and shift her dreams of family in a new way and watched her become a beautiful woman with no restraints holding her back.

The book is well-written and I would definitely recommend. I would note that cheating does happen on the page, so if you're sensitive to this, you might want to take it easy with this read. While this piece of the story gave me some not-so-happy feels, the story then focuses on Kylie regaining her confidence and seeing her true self. It was quite lovely to watch, err, read.

The Dance for You really stuck with me. Kylie’s journey felt so real—messy, emotional, and hopeful in all the right ways. Watching her rebuild after heartbreak and rediscover who she is was both inspiring and comforting. It’s about starting over, finding joy again, and letting someone new in when you least expect it. Such a heartfelt read. 💛

I love this story for kylie. When I first read the characters in the other books I never really got that the guy she is with initially clicked together, and glad that is not what happens and she finds her perfect match. Also happy that the epilogue from book 2 is not how things played out as it appeared to have that would have been way more devastating

I hesitated to start this book, but only because I knew it would consume me. The characters are so well written that I feel like I personally know them. This was probably my favorite book in the series so far. I can relate so much to Kylie and love that she did get her HEA. Definitely recommend this series!
