*A Country Cottage Inn Cozy Mysteries CROSSOVER!

Book
My name is Josie Janglewood, and I can read the minds of animals. Not every animal, not every time, but enough to know that my cat Chip thinks my romantic history deserves its own cautionary tale. Especially my latest decision—taking a job managing Huckleberry Hollow Wonderland, a struggling theme park that’s seen better days. After discovering my husband in a compromising position with his yoga instructor, I needed a fresh start. What I got was a dead body in the funhouse on my very first day.

Now I’m juggling broken rides, a murder investigation, and two opinionated cats who’ve become the park’s unofficial mascots. Fish, a black and white tabby who belongs to my friend Bizzy Baker Wilder from Cider Cove, and Chip, my food-obsessed orange fluffball, are surprisingly helpful sleuths—when they’re not critiquing my amateur detective skills or my budding attraction to the all-too-handsome Detective Drake.

The victim, a notoriously cruel food critic, had plenty of enemies among the travel writers’ conference being hosted at the park. But as mysterious footprints, missing collector pins, and old park secrets begin to surface, I realize someone has gone to elaborate lengths to frame the wrong person.

With the help of my feline sidekicks and some eccentric friends, I need to catch a killer before they strike again. Because in Huckleberry Hollow, the rides may be rickety, but the murder plots are perfectly engineered.

Meet the cute Wait, we got our own book? Since when are we solving mysteries?

Since that food critic turned up dead in the funhouse . That s right! We ve got our very own cozy mystery series!

Does this mean we get royalties? Preferably in tuna form?

Focus, orange one.

At least they got the food-obsessed part right for me . Though they failed to mention my award-worthy napping skills.

I see they included that handsome detective. The one who keeps making our human blush and drop things.

The bacon provider? I approve of him. His treat distribution technique shows promise.

Addison Moore features her two cats in Fish and Chip: Nine Lives One Murder. This series crosses over with her Country Cottage Inn series, so both her furballs can shine.
This cozy mystery features Josie Janglewood (bless her heart), who can read the minds of pets. After catching her husband in downward dog with his yoga instructor, she and her cat Chip strike out on their own. She finds herself at the Country Cottage Inn, where her friend Bizzy Baker Wilder and her cat, Fish, give her moral support. But when she takes over as manager for the Huckleberry Hallow Wonderland theme park, a dilapidated mainstay that needs massive overhaul, she needs them more than ever. Because the first order of business is solving the murder of the awful travel critic who has the gall to be murdered on the first day Josie starts.
I picked this one up because Moore was using her cats as the inspiration for her characters. I’ve been on her mailing list and have fallen in love with Fish and Chip, so I was so excited to see them on the cover of a book and was down for a cozy mystery in an amusement park. (Because I am a child at heart and I love a theme park.) So, when I needed a book just to read to have some fun, I downloaded this, and I was not disappointed.
This is delightful. It’s not the Prose Edda, of course. It’s written in a way that is easy to read. There aren’t log dragging paragraphs. There are beautiful descriptions of the park, including how run-down things are and when it’s at its seasonal peak. The rides and eateries are creative while giving homage to certain parks we all know and love.
The plot is simplistic: there isn’t much detective work, which I would have liked to have seen more of. Other than Josie, you don’t see much character growth, but there isn’t time. Plus, you are just glad to see Josie pick herself up after a cheating man, since so many of us have been there.
Wanting a cozy mystery with a dash of romance, I sure had fun in Huckleberry Hollow Wonderland.

In “Fish & Chip: Nine Lives One Murder”, we meet Josie Janglewood and her cat Chip. She shows up at the Country Cottage Inn and quickly Bizzy can tell Josie is a kindred spirit – she can also read the minds of animals. Josie is fleeing her life after she found her husband in a compromising position with his yoga instructor and on the spur of the moment, applies for a job managing a theme park called Huckleberry Hollow Wonderland. After she tours the park with Ree and Georgie (ps if you have read the author’s series Murder in the Mix and can’t help but laugh at Carlotta – well Georgie shenanigans make you laugh just as much), the park seems more like an apocalypse type adventure than a theme park, but she’s determined to bring life back to the park. On the day of her interview, she gets hired by the Merryweathers, a food critic turns up dead, she meets a handsome detective named Dexter Drake and she finds an awesome way to bring publicity to the theme park by making Fish and Chip the park’s mascots. Everyone goes crazy for Fish and Chip! Oh and she also finds herself involved in the investigation!

I absolutely love the banter between Josie’s cat Chip and Bizzy’s cat Fish. You can’t help but laugh throughout the whole book and fall in love with the two. I also thought it was great that Fish and Chip worked together to recruit other cats to help with the rat problem they discover while touring the place. If you love talking cats, mysteries, adventures, and a little romance thrown in the mix, you will absolutely love this first book. I also highly recommend Addison Moore’s other series. There are some crossovers that happen amongst the various series and they are just so much fun to read. I can’t wait to see what happens next for Josie, Chip and Fish.

Great series opener! - Crossing over with the Country Cottage Inn books, this series features Fish (Bizzy) and Chip (Josie) solving murders alongside Josie, while serving as the park's mascots. Josie's first day at her new job is absolutely noteworthy. A body found on the grounds livens things up in the small town. Plenty of suspects are unearthed, the victim a blackguard in so many ways. The perp is apprehended, Josie and the kitties diving headfirst into a takedown worthy of Columbo and Kojak. She's turning into another Bizzy, catching the bad guys. And shelving her cheating husband in favor of yummy Det. Drake is the powdered sugar on the tornado her life has become.

This was such a fun read. Bizzy and Josie share a special talent, the ability to hear animals. Must be nice to have someone understand that little quirk. The cats are integral to the crime-solving process as they offer their perspectives while judging kitty scratches and snack offerings. They really are the stars, even if the book largely follows Josie. Fish is a cute little despot / general; Chip is just looking for his next snack, preferably with bacon. Witty banter aplenty and a cadre of characters who are delightful. Georgie is a hoot! Ree has her hands full wrangling that one away from mischief, not always successfully. And they're the seniors in our midst! Cameos from Bizzy, her hubby and their own Sherlock. This is going to be another wildly fun venture from Ms. Addison. 👏.

Nine Lives, One Murder is the debut novel in Addison Moore’s new spinoff series. Josie Janglewood finds herself in need of a new start after catching her husband with his yoga instructor. Arriving at Bizzy Baker’s Country Cottage Inn with her cat, Chip, in tow, she discovers that Bizzy shares her ability to hear animals’ thoughts. She secures an interview at the Huckleberry Hollow Theme Park, a dilapidated yet still charming local attraction. Hired immediately as manager she’s thrown into a mixer for a convention of travel writers, is alerted to a dead body in one of the attractions, and is under pressure to turn the struggling park around. She installs Chip and Bizzy’s opinionated cat, Fish as park mascots in an inspired move, flirts with Detective Drake, and generally annoys her soon to be ex husband with her new found independence. But can she sort out the red herrings from the true clues to stop a killer?

Addison Moore adds a new transmundane heroine to her roster with Josie. Josie is likeable and relatable, and in a little over her head with the theme park job, but is gutsy and hardworking. The theme park setting makes for an unusual backdrop and is well described to bring it to life. Fish and Chip are the true stars and their snarky conversations steal the show. Ms. Moore could probably actually market their merch to her fans. An altogether fun and fast read from a queen of cozies.

Josie Janglewood found her husband in a compromising position with the yoga instructor and packed her things taking the long way to the Country Cottage Inn where Bizzy Baker Wilder is the owner. (Cross over to the Country Cottage Inn series.) Where she checks in for the long haul, while she starts her life over. Much to her surprise the application she filled out for the theme park called her and she has interview awaiting, where to her surprise she was hired in the spot as park manager.
Once she was hired the owners asked her to go with them and meet the clients that were meeting here for their annual conference, that she would be running as of the following day. One thing progressed to another and she was in the deep end of finding a body in the funhouse within 24 hours of beginning her new life. So now she needed to find a way to bring life to a dying theme park, bring income into said theme park and find out who killed a person in the park. There is so much to do and Josie is trying to find where to begin. Will she be able to successfully do any or all on her list?

A book featuring Fish and Chip! Perfect.
In this first book in the series, Josie Janglewood and her cat Chip end up at Bizzy Baker's Inn after finding her husband doing more than stretches with his yoga instructor. Bizzy Baker, from the County Cottage Mysteries, finds a friend in Josie since they both can hear animals thoughts. After applying for a job at an amusement park she is given Park Manager job. She finds a body in the funhouse on her 2nd day. How do you revive a dying park after finding a dead body? Read this fun book and find out!
I love that Ms. Moore wrote her own cats into this book. Their newsletters are so much fun to read.
The characters in this book are just as fun to read about as her other books. They act like people you may know except for mind reading. I love Fish and Chip. (Subscribe to Addison's newletter to hear more from them!) Great book with a lot of fun banter between the cats, a fun mystery, likeable characters. Everything a book needs.

Addison Moore has created a funny murder mystery staring her real life kittens, Fish and Chips. Isn't that so cute? Josie winds up at Huckleberry Hollow after a drive to no where in shock after finding her husband cheating on her. The Country Cottage Inn is a place she has been to before and is welcomed warmly by Bizzy and crew. The banter between Fish and Chips is funny and there is an element of relief when she realizes Bizzy can also hear the animals. Josie lands a job at a falling apart theme park, Huckleberry Hollow Wonderland. At the interview, she is pulled into a murder of a food critic, but her reward is she meets the kind and handsome officer Dexter. I love my trips to Huckleberry Hollow, the characters make me laugh and now with Fish and Chips? I am looking forward to more adventures with them and their humans.

This is such a charming cozy mystery! Following Josie as she navigates her new job at the theme park is actually quite relaxing and fun—the author has such an enjoyable way of engaging the reader with Josie’s world, I would likely read a whole book about just that! I absolutely love the inner minds of Fish, Chip, and even Sherlock. They each have distinct personalities and their interactions had me smiling throughout.

The mystery was sprinkled in naturally with a bit of sassy spunk from Josie’s friends, and of course some lovely visits from Dectective Dreamboat. I enjoyed piecing together clues, but definitely stayed for the felines and friendship.

I’ve already got the next installments on my reading wishlist.

Funhouse horror!

With a broken marriage, no home, and no job, Josie Janglewood arrives back in Cider Cove to begin her new life. A childhood accident left her able to understand animals, and Chips, her food-focused orange cat, has an opinion on everything! Her first job interview pays off. She is now the manager of Huckleberry Hollow Wonderland, in all its safety-violating, barely-functioning glory.

A corpse in the funhouse is a rocky start for her first day. Josie had sworn off men until Detective Drake showed up to investigate. The theme park cannot afford bad publicity. Josie and Chips will need to solve the case quickly with the help of her friend Bizzy Baker and her cat, Fish.

This is a good series starter with a good mystery and plenty of humor. I received a free copy, but my review was honest and voluntary.

Josie Janglewood is the main character in this new series. She is recently separated from her (cheating) husband. She's moving away from her home with her cat, Chip. The first place she stops is at the Country Cottage Inn. Bizzy is surprised to see her but happy to help her in this unexpected visit. Bizzy recognizes almost immediately that Josie is "transmundane" like she is but apparently Josie can only hear animal's thoughts. Josie already has an interview lined up at a local theme park that she remembers fondly from her youth. Surprisingly, she gets the manager's job... now she has to figure out how to get the park and the aged rides updated... and if that's not enough, 'she's going to try to solve a murder. I think you'll enjoy this first book in this new series as much as I did!.

Josie is starting over in Huckleberry Hollow, hoping for a fresh start — but things take a wild turn when she stumbles upon a dead body. Between running a run-down theme park, dealing with a handsome detective, and chasing down clues with the help of her two clever (and hilarious) cats, Josie has her hands full.
I’ve read one of this author’s books before and wasn’t a big fan, but this story completely won me over. It’s a cozy mystery filled with likable and funny characters, sweet feline sidekicks, and a well-paced, engaging plot. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable and entertaining read that kept me turning the pages.

I absolutely loved this book! Addison Moore has another hit series! When Josie Janglewood has a theme park management position fall into her lap, she jumps at the chance to move on from her cheating soon-to-be ex. Little does she know that a killer good time may go a little too far on her first day. It will be up to Josie, her cat Chip, and Fish (the cat joining along from Bizzy Baker over in Cider Cove) to try to uncover the truth and catch the killer. Now enter homicide Detective Drake into the picture who wants Josie to stay out of his investigation. Will teaming up (unofficially of course ;) find the murderer sooner, or will it put Josie in danger? Read this great new series and laugh along with the antics of Fish and Chip!

Fish and Chip are some amazing wise cracking felines, and so is the protagonist , Josie! After catching her husband getting flexible with a yoga instructor, she moves across the country into a friend's Inn and ends up taking over as manager at a half-dilapidated theme park where, on her first night on the job, a murder takes place! Not only is the story filled with two kooky side-kicks (of the human variety) and one hunky detective, but this book made me laugh out loud multiple times. I'm super looking forward to the next one.

And I hope the ex-husband, Clyde, gets a piano dropped on him.

I was all in when Addison Moore announced a series featuring her rescue cats, and this delightful debut did not disappoint! Josie, our protagonist, has the unique gift of understanding animals—and she soon discovers she's not alone. Her life is in shambles after she discovers her husband entangled in an affair with a yoga instructor. Seeking refuge with a dear friend (a character we know from a previous series), she takes a job at a local theme park for a fresh start, but when a body is found on her first day, her life gets complicated—and mysterious. Fish and Chip add levity to this cozy. Full of fun twists and turns, this is a charming start to the series.

What a life! Can talk to animals (most of the time) and understand them, is managing a theme park and gets to play detective. Josie is in the middle of everything, trying to figure out by investigating the murder along with her pals and the talking cats! If you like snark, you will like these two cats. I laughed out loud several times while reading this. I can't wait to read the next book. Great start to a new series.

Wow! That was a fantastic start to a new series!

Wish I could have given this 100+ stars! It was phenomenal! I absolutely loved that Fish and Chip had so much storyline time. This is definitely heading towards being my favorite cat mystery series. If I remember correctly, Fish wasn't quite as snarky in the other series. But, she's still a fascinating feline, along with Chip. Those 2 really are a pair of lovable felines. Can't wait to get started on the next book!!

Josie Janglewood can read the minds of animals ,not just any animal mind ,just the ones she keeps close . These are two very opinionated cats Fish he’s a black and white tabby who belongs to her now good friend ,Bizzy Baker Wilder of Cedar Grove and there’s Chip her very own orange fluff ball know it all ,are challenging to say the least but their opinions are sometimes the clues to getting things done as well as being lots of fun…most of the time especially after a crime . But I’m jumping the gun sorry about that hon… After discovering her husband the cad in a compromising position with the yoga instructor egads he officially is not no longer a cat dad! She moves on finding a welcome at the Country Cottage Inn where she makes friends with Bizzy and Chip makes friends with Fish the cat.She scores a job at an amusement park though Chip isn’t very keen about it he makes known to his human being Josie. Huckleberry Hollow Amusement Park is where Josie does take on work but a dead body wasn’t in mind and that’s quite a bind not a quirk . On the day of the interview, just shaken on it too ,she ends up meeting a potential beau ,well he’s handsome you know Detective Drake is …Already struggling park that’s seen better days ,now has a murderer in their midst. Oh my days! It’s all a bit of a daze so it’s good she got Chip to keep her from it being just a lucky dip sorta walk into the unknown . The Travel Writers Conference being held at the park is emitting sparks of derision and when one of them is killed there’s to be a decision…carry on or help out dishy Detective Dexter Drake in finding who did the harsh food critic in . Did they make a mistake? Leave a clue or two to find …That’d be most kind. Theres nothing though that’s going to be sound as a pound until the killer is found. An epic tail ( I know it’s supposed to be tale) and no room to fail in finding whodunnit. Great story with lots of funny puns in it . Immersive laughter is inside this book go take a look for yourselves it’s out now on all good book and library shelves I shouldn’t wonder . Addison Moore doles out guffaw after guffaw in this uproarious storyline that’s ever so much fun,it really is divine splendour and that’s before the quirky amusement park that leaves us feeling like the food critic in a blender. Twists turns and follow clues credit earned where it’s due . I really enjoyed this storytelling so will you . It’s great.
